Richard (1/5): Thankfully it was just a brief overnight. If it was for any longer we would have looked elsewhere - Breakfast definitely was not value for money. Dirty concrete shower base and peeling paint in bathroom. Brown stains on curtains - not sure what it was, but definitely wasn't going to touch it. When you chose a place based on photos shown on Booking.com and what you get is completely different, there's a big problem.

Anneke (6/5): We expected more based on the rating. - Did not have breakfast. Left early. Can't watch TV unless you sit halfway up the steps to the top level. Shower experience was terrible. Hot water lasted for a couple of seconds and then changed to ice cold water, then you have to wait again for a minute or two for water to get warm again and then the cycle repeats itself. Pretty garden, close to highway for travelling purposes.

Real tranquility place. - Generally a very nice place I can recommend but to my own assessment the rates are a bit steep for the value one gets. For instance, the gas geysers seem NOT to be effective and efficient in warming up the water and this may lead to the actual wasting of plenty of water - a scarce resource. In winter, a full wall to wall mat floor coverage will be better because of a very cold weather, especially for Bloemfontein.
Gloria (6/5): The manager and staff were very friendly and helpful which made my stay pleasant as were the gardens - The breakfast was well prepared and tasty, the staff very friendly and the dining room warm. My room was very short of space for packing, everything that would normally be in drawers had to be accumulated on the dressing table which had the kettle, tray with cups & glasses etc. No place for doing work on my PC except the bed. The bathroom was also very short of any place to put anything, the bedside tables were to unstable to use for anything.

The hot water geyser was impossible to regulate. The mixer tap we couldn’t use. The moment you touch the tap the water gets ice cold or very hot. Impossible to shower. We were in unit 7. Not nice bathroom.. needs a real geyser and an overall for sure. Otherwise nice stay.. maybe more floor covering like carpets as dement floors were very cold.. thanks

The bed was incredibly comfortable, making it easy to get a good night's sleep, and the room itself was warm and cosy, perfect for relaxing. The self-serve breakfast was a nice touch, offering a variety of options. The grounds were spacious, giving the place a peaceful, open feel, though I couldn’t help but feel it’s more geared towards hosting functions and weddings rather than a quiet retreat. While the open spaces and event areas are well-maintained, it meant that the overall atmosphere felt a bit more focused on large groups rather than individual guests. In short, it’s a good spot for events and large gatherings but may not offer the full experience if you're looking for a peaceful, all-in-one getaway. A downside, however, was the lack of a bar area, which would have been a great addition for a relaxing drink after a long day. Additionally, there wasn’t much to do within the complex itself, so you’d need to venture out if you’re looking for entertainment or activities.

Lovely gardens and swimming pool, comfortable rooms and good breakfast. Worked very well for us as a stop over with small kids as they could run around in the large garden and swim and play on play equipment while adults enjoyed the surrounds with coffee / drinks.
Sean (8/5): Great place to overnight - close to the highway. - We used Monte Bello as a stop over while travelling. Its perfect for that. Easy to get to shops and food etc. Rooms are basic perfectly functional for an overnight stop. Very accessible pool to cool down in. The grounds are well maintained and lovely for a walk to stretch the legs. A little dated and over time the rooms could be make lighter and airer. But for what we needed it was perfect !

Amanda (10/5): Restful and value for money. - The property is in a serene environment, natural surroundings and the air is fresh. Perfect as a wedding venue with guests staying over. Duck droppings on the stoep just outside the room was a little annoying since one had no choice but to step on it.
