The receptionist noticed my wife had trouble walking and immediately changed our room to one very close to the elevator. Very caring and thoughtful, We did have a fabulous stay. 5 One thing was not. Namely the bed which was huge but extremely soft thus back ache on rising in the morning, Apart from that one item it was great.

Nadine (6/5): Moderate - Very spacious and clean comfortable room. I think the staff needs more training to be a bit more efficient when dealing with customers. Not saying all but some definitely need some training on how to approach and accommodate customers and not have them waiting for a long period time before assisting them. Make sure that the room temperature is comfortable before the guests arrive. My room was freezing.

Karen (10/5): An exceptional stay in a beautiful Hotel - We travelled to Aberdeen for a long weekend at this fabulous Hotel. There was a very welcoming Reception, and the hotel boasts a Lounge with roaring open fire and 2 restaurants. On arriving at the Hotel, the check in was simple and we had our bags taken up to our room. The room itself was faultless … beautiful décor, large comfy bed and large bathroom with walk in shower. There was complimentary fruit, biscuit and luxury tea/coffee/hot chocolate plus milk and water in a fridge. We had a meal in the Skylark restaurant on our first evening and the service/food was second to none. There was a varied menu which was well presented, and the service of the staff was exceptional. There is another restaurant – the Conservatory – which we did not use but the menu here was less varied but still exceptional. We had our breakfast on the Conservatory Restaurant and there was a wide variety of continental food, juices, cereal and toast. There were also breakfast items that could be made to order, and these were delicious and very well presents. Again, the staff waiting on the tables were faultless and attended to whatever you required. The hotel itself is in its own grounds on the outskirts of Aberdeen very close to main roads/bypass for accessibility. We ventured into Aberdeen by Taxi and was only a 10 min ride. There is a spa onsite also, but we did not use this facility. On the whole an exceptional experience and we will definitely be back. Everything was exceptional from start to finish

Anne (9/5): A jewel in Aberdeen - The staff were the highlight for us. All of the little things that might seem like nothing all add up to fantastic service. Nothing was too much trouble for any of them. Location is great, close to the Deeside Line walking/cycling path, 40 minutes walk into the city centre and close to Royal Deeside. The property itself is very comfortable and has held onto its authenticity and family feel. One small glitch when we had a very disappointing brunch when we arrived. I had to send it back and what was then produced was what I had expected in the first place. Unsure who was on in the kitchen that day, but it didn’t make for a great first impression.

Emma (9/5): - The room was stunning, with excellent facilities, a fabulous shower, and a really comfy, cosy bed that made it hard to get up in the morning. The whole space felt very high quality and well looked after. The staff were exceptional and a real highlight of the stay; genuinely welcoming, warm, and couldn’t do enough for us without ever feeling overbearing. It really made the whole experience feel relaxed and effortless. The hotel itself and the grounds were beautiful and felt very peaceful and well maintained, which added a lot to the overall atmosphere of the stay. The restaurant was honestly some of the best food I have ever had. Even the continental breakfast was second to none: fresh, high quality, plenty of variety and clearly done with care. We also enjoyed some absolutely wonderful treatments at the spa which I cannot recommend enough, especially the deep tissue massage! The spa staff are highly knowledgeable and gave us exactly what we needed. Overall, everything felt top quality across the board and we genuinely could not fault anything during our stay. The only thing that felt like a bit of a let down was the way a breach of my personal information was handled prior to our arrival, which resulted in scammers obtaining detailed information about my booking including name, phone number, dates of stay, and booking reference. Based on the hotel’s own communications, it appeared this issue had already affected other guests, so it was disappointing that we were not made aware until after we reported receiving a scam message ourselves. This was not due to anything on our side, and I would hope to see continued improvement in data protection controls and faster, clearer communication to guests if incidents like this occur in future. Regardless, I would absolutely stay again.

Only thing was I wanted scrambled egg on toast but you have to make your own toast so timing was hard. By the time I got my eggs, my toast was cold. Not major but a bit annoying Bathrooms very dated and need updating

Lorraine (10/5): We had an amazing stay from start to finish. - Everything, the ambience around the hotel is peaceful the staff are so attentive and prepared, plus the very tasty food from evening meal to breakfast was delicious. It’s been a lovely stay. I couldn’t say anything negative.

Steve (9/5): Lovely setting to celebrate a special occasion. - Great team and lovely atmosphere. Steak probably a bit overpriced and afternoon tea not explained when we were charged for a bottle of Prosecco which we thought was all inclusive price but told this was only for a glass but weren’t asked if we wanted a glass or a bottle.

bobbie7654 (9/5): All in all a very pleasant two night stay - Breakfasts were first class. Staff were excellent and friendly. The hotel and location superb. Room was excellent too Although the room was excellent, the "view" was poor, at the back of the hotel looking on to a very ugly wall and the occasional noise of refuse trucks coming and going. Even though, that didn't bother us too much by closing the blinds.

Alistair (10/5): Top notch experience caused by the staff - a real credit to hospitality. - Absolutely fantastic experience at the Marcliffe. A new favourite for NE Scotland, and we will definitely return in future. Staff in particular made this experience special. The food quality in restaurant was excellent and well received by our party. Being lucky enough to stay in some very premium hotels, this really sets down a marker for other 4/5 star venues in Scotland. One main was forgotten at dinner, which led to a delay, but staff handled it really well and took the service charge off without asking. Entry level single malts at the bar were double the price of lots of other local venues, and whilst expected to be at a premium being a hotel, charging £10 for a 25ml when a bottle only costs £30 is excessive. That being said, wine etc was reasonably priced.
Dawn (9/5): Stay was great, just a couple of niggly things spoiled it - Helpful staff, very welcoming, fruit in the room was a nice touch, as was the two different types of coffee One of the lights in our bathroom wasn’t working, something that housekeeping should have notified maintenance about. 2 people staying in one room, only 2 bottles of water in the fridge, one still, one sparking, neither of us like sparking water

Iain (10/5): terrific - The breakfast was one of the best I have ever seen. Attentive service - so nice after the usual self-service - delicious fruit, yoghurt and honey, pastries, etc, and a good Scottish breakfast. I just wish it were nearer my home! Literally nothing to criticise.

David (10/5): More than great value for the service and hospitality - The staff were approachable and friendly, and professional at all times. The property is going through some refurbishment but it is done in a way that is sensitive and unobtrusive for guests.
