This hotel was an old hotel used as dorms for many of us students back in those days so to stay in such a beautiful first class hotel as it is now was a great treat! Beautiful, comfortable, and quiet. In other words a pretty perfect stay. Staff is friendly and helpful including the valet personnel Jonathan and Seneca and others who treated us so well. Highly recommend this beautiful hotel!

From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel genuinely welcome. Erin at the front desk handled our check-in with warmth, professionalism, and took the time to walk us through everything about our AMEX stay — she made a great first impression and set the tone for the entire visit. We upgraded to a suite for the stay, and the space was nothing short of impressive — spacious, beautifully appointed, and exactly what you'd hope for from a historic luxury property like The Virginian. Jonathan on the valet team was outstanding. He took excellent care of our vehicle, made sure it was ready promptly whenever we needed it, and was always eager to help with anything we asked. It's rare to find that level of attentive, cheerful service, and he absolutely delivered. We dined at the Skyline Grill, the rooftop restaurant, and it was a highlight of the trip. Dinner was exceptional — great atmosphere, great food, and excellent service. Breakfast was equally impressive, with locally sourced bacon and sausage that were genuinely delicious and clearly a cut above the usual hotel breakfast fare. My wife summed it up perfectly: "It's so nice when people make you feel so welcome." That's exactly what the team at The Virginian does — and they do it consistently. Every staff member we encountered was helpful, friendly, and professional. If you're visiting Lynchburg, this is the place to stay. We'll absolutely be back.

My server, Maddie Nicks, was so kind and gave me a great recommendation (the breakfast sandwich). The food was delicious and views from the rooftop were stunning, I would absolutely recommend it!

We also booked about 10 rooms for the families of the bride and groom. The Virginian staff did an awesome job accommodating us and providing the meal for the dinner. Shelby Hutchinson was amazing with the preparations for the rehearsal dinner. Everyone loved the chicken florentine and beef along with the sides and desserts. Thanks so much Shelby! The front desk was very accommodating with a few unforeseen wedding things (our unforeseen things not theirs) that came up and worked with us to resolve them. The bell staff were awesome! Jonathan and Seneca started remembering my car and had it unlocked for me almost before I asked. We have stayed here before but never had an event. After this weekends experience I would highly recommend to everyone to book your event and accommodations here. The Virginian is the best!

- Jsnoah (10/5): Remembered like family. - Our daughter’s a student at Sweet Briar College nearby. We have stayed at the Virginian pretty much exclusively when we visit for her time in school. The people have been fantastic. The courtesy, care, kindness and hospitality have been top notch. From Valet with Jonathan, Seneca and Jared to the folks at check-in to the restaurants and housekeeping. Being from New Jersey, it’s nice to get this level of Southern hospitality. Our daughter graduates this year and our visits will decrease but we have a love for this group and this hotel and are thankful every time we stay.

Jonathan and Seneca took care of me at the Valet stand each time I needed anything, and always make the stay a nice welcome as I'm far from home. I arrived on Halloween and the staff were all dressed up - it cracked me up as I pulled up to the hotel.

Everyone we encountered was incredibly personable and accommodating. Our room was beautifully decorated, spotless, and the mattress and pillows were unbelievably comfortable. I’m someone who usually has to bring my own pillow and blanket when traveling, but I didn’t need to here because everything was perfect! I especially want to recognize Jonathan Ramsey for his outstanding service. He was warm, inviting, and exceptionally attentive, making our stay even more enjoyable. We will absolutely be returning, this experience set a new standard for hospitality!

Ian (front desk) and Marty (valet) are real gems. Not only did they do an excellent job making my silly questions seem trivial, they recommended great places to eat while we waited for our room to become available and had our luggage delivered to the room once it was ready! Our 2Q room was a perfect fit for my family of 3, but I most enjoyed the bathroom; more specifically, the shower. As a tall person, the high ceilings and large shower made me spoiled to come home. Having a coffee shop to go to on the main floor and a restaurant on the roof were very convenient. Both offer great selections and were delicious. I will review these separately. The manager, Steven Everett, could not have been nicer. Cudos to the cook Brandon Thompson! It was perfect. We also met Chef Alan who was so kind and friendly. It was a great experience overall. Very nice place.

If any of us needed help we didn’t have to ask, when we turned around he always there and ready to help with everything. He was the first face we saw in the morning and the last one when we were calling it a night. I don’t think he ever goes home.We had my son’s wedding there and the entire staff was right there helping with everything. Our air conditioning was broken and before we could finish telling them they had a key to a new room. We will recommend this amazing hotel and staff to everyone

A huge thank you to Shelley Waldeck and Shelby Hutchinson who were so wonderful to work with to plan our event. The entire staff, from the ladies at the front desk to the bell hops were accommodating, extremely kind, professional, and showed great attention to detail. I enjoyed meeting the general manager, Mr. Tomko. Johnathan was also extremely helpful our entire stay/event. “Please let us know whatever else you need” was a standard mantra the entire weekend. The hotel, itself, was beautifully adorned, had beautiful charm, and had a staff to match. Forever grateful for a perfect weekend for our family.

This time we were hauling a car with us so it would not fit in the parking structure so Jonathan had a separate lot we could put it in. It seems like any time we need anything Jonathan is the go to man. Room issue, Jonathan, parking issue, Jonathan, water leak, Jonathan. He is one of the nicest guys we have met in our travels, and is so accommodating, resourceful and seems to be there ALL the time, literally. Although everyone at the Virginian is very nice and the facility is fantastic Jonathan makes the stay special. You can’t beat the roof top restaurant either. Great place to stay. When you get there the first person you will meet will probably be Jonathan. Tell him we said hi.

There is no other place to stay in Lynchburg than the top tier Virginian Hotel (Hilton Curio)…for the price you pay, the accommodations are unparalleled & the staff is SUPERB! In particular, Jonathan in the Security/Valet department is TOP NOTCH! I have seen him over the years and no matter what time of day, he is ALWAYS getting the doors for guests, starting a conversation & giving local recommendations…year after year, he is consistently one of my absolute FAV benefits about the Virginian…his warm hearted soul is welcoming & genuine & I cannot think of higher praises to write, give this man a raise or make him the President of the universe or something :)

The bed was very nice and the big tiled bathroom was well lit and provided both a soaking tub and shower. The Skyline Grill has delicious food and a wonderful, rooftop view of the city. The entire staff cater to your every need. All around a Grade A+.
