- Rob (8/5): Prima! - Gezellige relaxte plek midden in de stad. We hebben ervan genoten. Ontbijt was prima en er werd rekening gehouden met de koemelk allergie van mijn vriendin. Nou ja, geen koffie of iets anders te krijgen in de avond, maar genoeg kroegen in de buurt.

- Conny (7/5): Nettes Hostel in sehr guter Lage. - Nettes Hostel in sehr guter Lage. MItten in Tilburg und ca 200 m vom Bahnhof Tilburg entfernt. Für ein Hostel (hatte ein Bett im 8er Frauenschlafsaal) definitiv zu teuer!

L'équipe est très sympathique, et renseigne très correctement L'accès aux places de parking est vraiment très étroit, donc il faut pas craindre pour sa voiture. La cuisine est très très sommaire, il ne faut compter que sur un micro onde et un four, donc pas vraiment de quoi faire la cuisine.

We had a great time and also briefly stopped in at the hostel bar which was nice We had a private bathroom to our room, but since there were 4 people staying there total and it wasn't very separate from the main room, we still had to use the shared hostel bathroom sometimes

- Agne (3/5): Overpriced dorm with no locker or shower or toilet in room - The staff was nice and you can have 13:00 check out for 5 eu. I had paid 55eu to stay in a 8 bed female dormatory. They gave me sheets and I had to make the bed myself. For whoke the 4th floor of maybe 40 beds was only one toilet and couldnt find the shower. The lockers are on the first floor not in the room. Really uncomfortable stingy dutch place.

- Fabrizio (9/5): Buon rapporto qualità-prezzo, consigliato! - Posizione super centrale, a 3 minuti (a piedi) dalla stazione. Struttura accogliente con diversi spazi comuni ben tenuti e diverse attività da fare come giochi da tavolo, biliardo, calcio balilla, e il bar aperto fino a sera. La camera che ci hanno dato era più grande di quella prenotata, veramente spaziosa e con il bagno privato incluso.

- Ruth (10/5): - Alles perfekt, es gibt absolut nichts zu kritisieren. Ganz besonderen Dank an den Mitarbeiter/jungen Neuseeländer, der so liebevoll das Frühstück und den Cappuccino kreiert hat. Neuseeland wird ja " das Land der großen weißen Wolken " genannt. Das Hostel hätte die Bezeichnung verdient " ROOTS - Das Hostel der großen liebevollen Aufmerksamkeit en".

- Karen (7/5): I had a good stay, will come here again. - The man at the checkin was super friendly. I had the room to myself! It was quiet and comfortable. Cozy common room with piano. Increibly well located: close to the train station and the city centre. I recommend this place! No shower in on the third floor. The girl at the checkout made a racial comment, which I didn't appreciate.

- André (5/5): - Im Vergleich zu anderen Unterkünften in unmittelbarer Nähe ist das Roots-Hostel vergleichsweise teurer. Sehr ärgerlich: Beim Begleichen der Parkgebühren wurde zusätzlich die Tilburg-City-Tax mit abgezogen. Ich ging davon aus, dass es sich bei dem Betrag um eine Mehrwertsteuer handelt. Beim Auschecken wurde der Fehlbetrag (10,71 €) nach kurzer Diskussion zurückgebucht. Die City-Tax wird bei Booking.com immer gleich im Voraus mitbezahlt, ist Teil der Gesamtrechnung. Nach meiner Bewertung hier erhielt ich vom Hostel einen Anruf, bei dem die Fehlbuchung als "kleiner Fehler" bezeichnet wurde. Schuld sei das System. Sehr unprofessionell! Das Roots arbeitet seit Jahren mit Booking.com zusammen, da darf so was nicht passieren! Eine Erklärung, was man am System zu ändern gedenkt, um solche Fehler zukünftig auszuschließen, konnte mir der Anrufer nicht geben. Also seit wachsam und aufmerksam! Es gibt hier Fehler im System, die zu ungerechtfertigten Doppelzahlungen führen! Also im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes: "systemische Fehler"! Aus diesem Grund war mir eine bessere Bewertung als "passabel" nicht möglich.

- AvB (2/5): Feestje bij Roots.. - - Hi Roots-team, Last weekend we stayed for one night (24 - 25 of january 2026), like we did before. We were always very happy about the service and the hospitality of Roots so we booked regularly in the past to be able to visite friends in Tilburg. Last saturday I received a call around 16.00 from one of your employees. She asked what our plans where and if we perhaps had plans to go to 013. But that was not our plan since we only would have diner and a couple of drinks with friends of us. So the conversation went on about the party that was planned that evening in Roots. There would be a stage and some artists that preform but it would be ending around 1:00. I asked what the party was for so she explained that it was an anniversary for Roots. (My assumption was that it would be live bands or something like that) She didn't explained what type of party it was or suggested some other options to sleep if we didn't like a party. I told her that we would probably be back around 12:00 but that we could handle a party so it was not a problem. We came 'home' around 1:00 and the music was very, very, loud. We had been in the Little Devil seconds ago, thats not known for a quite place, but the music in Roots hurted my ears.. Nonetheless we stayed for a bit, bought some coins to have a drink. A couple of times the dj announced that it would be his last song so around 1:30 we went upstairs to sleep. Sadly, the music didn't stop, and was very loud even inside our room with the doors shut. It was like a rave party going on ín the room as well.. we couldn't even hear eachother when we were in bed together. We do like rave party's and we do boilerroom sessions and all that.. but this was just so unexpected.. and so immensly loud that it really started to annoy us since we were tired and wanted to sleep. At 2:00 my husband went down to ask when it was going to end and if the music could at leased be put down a bit.
