- Rb (9/5): Excellent choice in Phetchabun. Very good value for money. - Very clean. Airco is OK. Shower is OK. Breakfast is basic but good (fried eggs, an asian dish, toast, coffee etc). There is enough parking. Very quiet. Friendly staff. 2 large seats in the room + a chair to work on the large desk.. There are almost no free sockets and none are besides the bed. Total light is ok but it is all or nothing, no separate control and no lights next to the bed. No individual soap/shampoo but big shared bottles so if you not like that bring our own.
- Martin (5/5): Forced to pay twice! Beware. - Cheap price. Basic but reasonable accommodation. Breakfast included. Although I had paid upfront the lady insisted I pay again in cash & got very irritated when we tried to tell her we had paid. She was not going to let us stay so we paid twice.
- Arianna (9/5): We loved staying here, they serve a lovely breakfast and we spend some time chatting with other guests and the husband o - Spacious and clean room, breakfasts, quiet surroundings The bed is a bit hard!
- Preeda (6/5): Pleasant -
- คุณตัส (7/5): Good -
- Glenn (7/5): Ok stay for one night on the way to somewhere else. - Ok older style budget hotel, larger rooms, good location (5 min walking) distance near some bars, restaurants, 7/11 and small local market. Has parking and can reserve room and pay on arrival. aircon works, hot water ok, older style tv but it works ok with local channels only. Mid size fridge in room. Room was clean. Central location. Ok breakfast, thai cooked food ok, very basic coffee and toast. Owner/staff helpful but limited english, my Thai partner had to communicate, but friendly enough and welcoming . Good stay for one night, stop and go.
Wifi is good. Beds,- standard (rock) hard thai bed but at this price that's what you usually get. Limited sound proofing. Can hear next room thru interconnecting door and other conversations. Maybe staff just need to be aware that we can hear their conversation as our room was next to reception. Also limited power points for charging. Only one point available under the table. Most travellers (couples or families) have multiple items that require charging. This problem could be easily be resolved by providing a power board in each room.
- Paul (10/5): Personally, I would like to extend my thanks to the owner and her husband who were wonderful. - I have stayed at hundreds of hotels around Thailand and have never felt so welcome, comfortable and relaxed. The staff just could not do enough for you. The location was excellent with plenty of facilities nearby ideal for the elderly and children to relax and enjoy. I will without doubt make an effort in the future to return there and try and spend a few nights. Only one thing that I would have liked was a window in the room. Rooms front of the hotel had windows. However, we only slept and relaxed in the rooms which otherwise were excellent. The beds were very comfortable, the room clean and the showers outstanding.
- Ronald (6/5): It was very comfortable, and I was catching up on sleep, so they did not wake me. - Very basic.Mostly Thai style. Highlight for me was toast. Cold breakfast food
- Juan (8/5): Very good - The property is in walking distance from bus station and close to many restaurants and entertainment. The room are spacious. Basic, good breakfast of Asian food and toast bread. Located in a very quiet lane. The staff is very friendly. They allowed us to change the room and amend the booking.
- Aminoacid2 (10/5): Home away from home - I went twice. I had to come back! It’s like home. Every person treats you like family.
If you want to spend all day in your room don’t come to Phetchabun. If you like to walk or rent a motorbike, exercise, visit attractions by renting a car or motorbike or arranging with the owner of the hotel… then do it!
- Curtis (4/5): Tired - Nice staff. Ok breakfast. Dirty room, bad smells, noisy, especially at 5 in the morning
- Michael (8/5): Very good -
- Erik (7/5): Cheap hotel in a nice area. - The hotel is located in a nice area close to restaurants, market and 7 Eleven. The room had a big bed and extra bed for our daughter. The breakfast was small but nice, with coffee, toast, soup and rice with pork. There was no fridge or water in the room.
- Rachiewong79 (8/5): Very good -
- Berry (8/5): Very good - location is very good and breakfast is also good too little electricity plugs
- Dave (8/5): Very good - Close to cafes/bars with live bands ,staff friendly ,better if you can speak a little Thai.
- Murphy (6/5): Pleasant - I didn't really have anything I could say I liked. Seems to be getting into a state of needing brought back to life. The hotel has broken wooden lantern lights just left laying around. Their 🛺 is sat in the reception area not starting but just sat gathering dust and rust. We actually spent,10 minutes explaining that we had already paid for the breakfast. When I finish my coffee I had to pay for my second cup of coffee at breakfast. All in all a bad experience.
- Chooi (6/5): Petchabun and Khao Kho area is worth the visit even though it took us long hours to reach - We had lots of help from the owner of the apartment in arranging transport around the area. Instructions for reaching the place was also very clear.
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nagesh (6/5): Absolutely Basic and No Frills - rooms were spacious and clean .
mid size refrigerator in the room
The owner meets you for breakfast ineffective air conditioning
No coffee or tea complementaries even after request
one hot water leetar kept for common use amongst all rooms .
the beds were hard .
only one electrical socket under the TV. takes an effort to get your charger there .
it is an absolute basic no frills hotel
- Pisit (8/5): Very good -
- Gunther (9/5): Superb -
- Leslie (6/5): A very basic hotel, I would remove the stained pillows. - location was good for us. Large room, Hot shower good Aircon, good staff. But sorry must say something about the stained pillows. not a fault of the Hotel. The bed was very hard. Some people like firm beds I don’t but I don’t blame the hotel for a firm bed, but the spare pillows were all stained should be removed.
- Barry (8/5): convenient overnight stop - friendly and very good value
- Murphy (6/5): Pleasant - Nothing I paid for a superior room and they changed the room to a standard room and didn't offer any discount.i ended up in a room with a hard bed a next to a nightclub.what a disaster this was for me.
- Rajeev (5/5): Passable -
- Rutthawit (7/5): Good -
- Pajaree (9/5): Superb -
- Umapathy (9/5): Superb - The Breakfast menu could have carried a few more choices like fruits and a cereal like corn flakes. For Vegetarians. Otherwise it is a great place
- Kurt (8/5): Very good - Great PRICE-PERFORMANCE Ratio, Staff and Reception friendly and professional, Wifi quickly, free Parking at hotel, location - to city centre with car 5 minutes
- Harald (8/5): Very good -
- Aodh (8/5): Very good - The location was great. Private but close enough to all amenities. Bed was rock hard and the Air Con struggled to keep the room cool.
- Alin (9/5): Superb -
- Judit (3/5): Poor -
- Kevin (8/5): Very good -
- Birdonthetree (6/5): Bad bed and mattress - Hotel is correct but the mattress is too much strong, and the bedroom area is too noisy also.
Car parking is at the door, that is so easy to carry on the luggages off the car.
Breakfast is local Thai food, and some toast and jam.
- MartinH110 (10/5): again very good - my second stay in this hotel. i like. good staff, kindly owner. cheap price, and good breskfast. i made reservation for wrong day no problem to cancel/switch some days later. they dont charge, whas helpfull. thx a lot!!!
- 409brentv (10/5): It’s feels so comfortable it’s like going to your parents home. - This is a sweet little boutique hotel/home, two storey, hidden back off the Main Street. The location is great, bars, lounges, resturants and stores everywhere, even the bus depot is 5 blocks away. The place is quiet, clean, rooms are spacious and the staff will do everything you pretty much need or want. I found my bed a little hard but I like soft beds. The Owner is hands on, love this place. They have Asian breakfast but will make a good old Omelet for you. I extended my stay by 3 days more, this is a little gem of a place and so comfortable it’s like going home!
- DiscardA (6/5): At the end of the day - You get what you pay for! - A Thai run hotel catering to Thai's.
Traditional old style Thai rooms - acceptable for a short stay but with no luxury.
Everything in the room was in working condition.
Staff were efficient.
Our room # 204 was next to the stair well ( no lifts ) and we heard everyone walking up the stairs and talking, from inside our room!!!
Breakfast was not acceptable - but for Thai's was OK.
At the end of the day for 600 Baht you get what you pay for.
We found a terrific restaurant located on the water about 300 metres away - cannot remember the name!
Probably would not stay here again.
- MartinH110 (10/5): Nice nice nice - This night we stay in this hotel. Quiet nice place. Very kindly staff. Small Breakfast bufet, i adked for omlett! And without problem get. Very good place too spend your visit in petchabun. I will come here again, on.my next trip... thx a lot!!
- 411paulg (10/5): Little diamond - Great hotel great location would highly recommend this hotel nice clean rooms good showers fast internet what more can I say and bars and restaurants just round the corner the photo is of the owner who is a superman
- KERRY (10/5): Good base to visit the surrounding mountains etc - Great location 100 meters from a small lake surrounded by restaurant//bars with great food and value, pleasant short walk around the lake. Good size rooms, great value less than15$ night, very friendly and helpful, the Lady owner insisted on making me an excellent omelet even though I was happy with the Thai breakfast included. The bed maybe abit firm for some but Ok for us.
- David_Brotherson (10/5): Comfortable, clean and affordable - Although we stayed here just for one night, when we next return to Phetchabun we'll definitely stay here again. The room is very spacious and clean, with full amenities. It's only a 50m walk to the local lake around which numerous bars, restaurants and beer gardens are located.
We also had the pleasure of meeting the owner Mr Chartchai, who spoke fluent English and was most accommodating.
- cinbkk (8/5): Good rooms at excellent location - The hotel is at an excellent location in a quiet street, close to the market and some restaurants and bars (not beer bars)
Our big room had a small balcony with view of some green, shower with hot water and toiletries, fridge with free water, etc. There were a lot of mosquitos in our room; the bathroom windows wide open when we came. The beds were a bit hard but we slept well.
There was outside seating in front of the hotel, and a nice breakfast room, but the free breakfast was just the usual basic continental breakfast with some Thai food options. Service was friendly and always present.
- sunriseinisaan (10/5): Excellent value, clean, cheap. - We found this hotel via Trip Advisor as it had a good score and were not disappointed.
The first thing to say is unless you are using a taxi it is difficult to spot. An easy walk from the bus station past a lovely lake, it is on the right hand side of the lake before the end of it, down a side road. The well lit sign, which spans the road, is in Thai not English, so we did not spot it. The wall sign is also in Thai and not visible from the main road.
We did not book in advance, arrived around 8pm but there was no problem for the nice Thai night lady to book us in, although no English spoken.
Our double bedded room was huge, clean, with a/c, a huge fridge and nice shower room. It also had a small balcony but no balcony furniture. Really you would want to sit at a nearby bar and take in the atmosphere.
As mentioned in another review, the bed was rock hard as this is preferred by Thais and the breakfast was aimed at Thais. We asked for toast and they sent someone out to the shop to buy bread and jam. Otherwise it is rice, pork and vegetable soup and catfish. Tea was local but I used my own English tea. Coffee was instant. No decaffeinated (difficult to find in Thailand).
Whilst nosing around I found a room with spare mattresses and some were softer sprung ones, so we asked for a change for night #2.
Whilst at breakfast the 64 year old owner introduced himself, speaking good English. Charming man, he was the local Prefect until aged 60 so high up in local Government and obviously very good at dealing with people. He made it clear if we wanted anything he would try to help.
In reception there is a kettle you can get hot water from but no drink facilities or mugs in room. We travelled with a travel kettle, mugs and tea and coffee anyway so had the ability to use their kettle.
You can hand your laundry into reception and get it back same day. Not expensive.
Overall we found the hotel to be very clean, very spacious, and give it top marks. It was in a good position. The town is large so nowhere is perfect for walking everywhere but there are a range of bars and restaurants close by.
The room cost us 450 baht per night in late October 2016. At that time less than £11. Including breakfast such as it was and wifi which was very good.
They have twin, double and suites with settee and living area. All looked clean and in good condition. (I love having a nose around!)
I think if you use this place you ask immediately for soft mattress and offer to help get it if late at night and anything else ask....they seem quite receptive.
- 990maggiea (8/5): Very affordable - Room was big but not very clean. The price was cheap, so it is good, worth the stay and value of money. The place needs more maintenance, especially the yard.. It was a nice place to stay, simple but good.
- jackyAix (10/5): do'nt miss it! - A wonderful totally quiet hotel, managed by wonderful people.Need anything ? they will answer before you ask for. You' l feel not as a customer, but as a guest, that is the will of the owner.we stayed three nights, a very time we spent.
- shirleypurley (6/5): Not bad - visiting family and stayed here 4 nights , breakfast is Thai food although you will get coffee & toast if you ask them , beds are like ironing boards but you sleep after traveling 17 hours lol ! Big room and had nice balcony were we watched squirrels eat from banana trees , loads of geekos outside and mossies galore , staff friendly but no English ! Would I stay again ? No
