Steven (5/5): - I liked the location. I liked the staff. They were helpful and friendly. I thought that the rooms were dark and that the color scheme was unpleasant- jet black. The lighting was awkward and light switches were hard to find. The first time I came into my room, I literally had to use the light on my cell phone to find the light switches for the room. Things were done very deliberately. The lighting. This placement of light switches. The darkness of the rooms. All of this was carefully thought out, but the thinking was clearly done by an idiot.. The Axel hotel chain has an excellent reputation, mostly for accommodating gay men. Once you look at the facilities themselves, I can't imagine why the hotels are well thought of. I can't imagine going back, and I certainly wouldn't recommend it to friends.

Pulizia da 10, personale super accogliente e una colazione a buffet promossa a pieni voti (anche per chi è vegetariano). Muoversi a piedi verso il centro e i musei è semplicissimo e le fermate di bus e metro sono dietro l'angolo. L'unico motivo per cui non do il massimo dei voti è la rigidità dello staff sul minibar: mi è stato addebitato un dolce mai consumato, nonostante avessi specificato il contrario. Questo piccolo intoppo ha lasciato un retrogusto un po' amaro a un soggiorno altrimenti perfetto.

ohad (5/5): - Formal Complaint - Safety Issue and Poor Maintenance at [Axel hotel – Adults only] - Reservation #[6617478930] Dear Booking.com Support Team, I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding my recent stay at AXEL HOTEL – ADULTS ONLY (Dates: April 30 – May 4, 2026), booked through your platform. Despite paying a premium price of €1,059, the stay was highly unsatisfactory and, more importantly, unsafe. Key issues during my stay: 1. Safety Hazard: I found multiple shards of glass on the room floor after stepping on them. When I brought the first 6 shards to the reception, the staff member immediately threw them in the trash to hide the evidence and claimed no other rooms were available. Two days later, I found 4 more shards (which I have photographed). 2. Poor Maintenance: The room had a broken chair and a faulty showerhead that sprayed water everywhere, making the bathroom difficult to use. 3. Inadequate Cleaning: Housekeeping failed to empty the trash bin, which contained food waste, leading to hygiene concerns. 4. Lack of Management Response: I was told the manager was on vacation and no one could address my concerns until after my checkout. I have stayed at this property before and had a positive experience, but the current state of maintenance and the dismissive attitude of the staff regarding a safety hazard (glass on the floor) is unacceptable. As a loyal Booking.com customer, I request your intervention to secure a partial refund or compensation for the distress and poor conditions I endured. Excelente Atención al Cliente - Fernando at the front desk and the lovely that accompanied him on both 12 and 13 May 2026, HAVE TO BE the nicest welcoming hotel staff I have encountered in a long time. It’s the old Spain - kind, caring and super professional people. Global standards in customer care and service have dropped so appallingly globally SADLY that I often find myself either not bothering to write because it was mediocre or, if I’m writing, I’m writing to blast the entity for completely awful customer service or attitude. IN THIS CASE, however, I shower Axel Madrid Hotel with the highest praise. Happy employees make happy customers. Fernando and the young lady at the front desk were completely focused on my enjoyment and comfort while at the hotel - and even when I was outside the property and the risk of rain had them offering me an umbrella. Just fantastic!!! Additionally, the breakfast staff and the food were stellar! This is not a problem unique to Axel Hotel, but many Spanish buildings suffer this: some of the hallways at some points during the day had a faint odour of lavatory . I would respectfully request Axel Hotel to pls ensure that the source be found and sealed .

Es bonita, pero no tiene las prestaciones que uno esperaría, porque, aunque es la más barata del hotel, no es tan barata. Cuando vas al Axel, esperas más calidad, no solo decoración.

faron (2/5): Worst axel experience ive had - The bed was hard as a rock, the A/C didnt work, at 9am you could hear people outside your windows, there was no sauna like the other axel hotels, just a cold pool, drinks at the bar were €15-€20. A maid or someone walked into my room while I was sleeping and didn't close the door completely when they left.

Dearbhla (7/5): Great location; too overtly sexual for the average tourist — even those of us who are on a romantic trip anyway! - Loved the location and all the staff we interacted with were fantastic! It was way too overtly sexual. I thought it was a cool hotel in a great location in Madrid, but instead it was essentially a sex dungeon that just so happens to have beds in the middle of Madrid.

Gaelle (8/5): - L'emplacement est idéal pour découvrir Madrid, Pas mal de bons restos tout proche et gare d'Atocha pas tres loin non plus. Chambre propre et lit confortable. Petit déjeuner trés bien. Personnel tres gentil, tout particulierement notre receptionniste qui parlait en plus français, vraiment adorable, super gentil, attentionné et de bons conseils sur Madrid. Le manque d'intimité concernant la douche, mieux vaut bien connaitre la personne avec qui on partage la chambre et pas de brosse dans les wc!

Lisa Sbaz (7/5): Solo per la posizione - Posizione fantastica, comodo per tutto. Nonostante la camera sia piccola il bagno va bene Le foto sono un altra cosa rispetto alla realtà... La terrazza è trasandata, una tristezza infinita. Le sale della colazione cupe, il buffet scadente. L'unica cosa davvero buona era il pane. La camera standard è organizzata male. Il problema non è che è piccola è come hanno deciso di arredarla. È scomoda e ti senti in trappola. Allo stesso prezzo trovi sicuramente di meglio

Lena Monosova (4/5): - Breakfast and location Ice-cold water trickled barely from the sink; moreover, the dirty water would not drain. Every day the staff promised to fix it but they didn't. The room was dark and uncomfortable. The sink, the shower and the toilet were in different rooms. Who made such a stupid design? The night light was missing so in order to find our way at night we had to keep the light on the whole night. But on the other hand, every day we received a new packet of condoms. This was a bit surprising, since my husband and I had long since passed our seventies.

Paola (8/5): Design vicino al centro - Hotel moderno e con grande attenzione al design. Posizione piuttosto buona per raggiungere facilmente le attrazioni principali. Sicuramente per il prezzo che ha mi sarei aspettata una camera più ampia e meglio organizzata, c’è davvero troppo poco spazio per muoversi e aprire le valigie.

Sebastián (4/5): Decepcionante - La ubicación La distribución de la habitación con el lavabo a la vista en la misma entrada y el perchero también a la vista. No había bidé, algo imperdonable desde el punto de vista de la higiene. No había plancha de ropa, ni siquiera un calzador. La TV funcionaba mal con apenas varios canales programados. En general, unas instalaciones muy decepcionantes.

B8844HQivanm (4/5): Could have been great , sadly not so much. - Unfortunately, the room was too small, and the same goes for the bed. It’s a nice concept, but it needs more space to really work. The bed is not suitable for two adults and isn’t comfortable for sleeping. The hot water in both the shower and the sink took far too long to warm up. The bathroom layout is also poorly designed sitting on the toilet is uncomfortable because your leg constantly hits the toilet paper holder. The breakfast area is very cramped. You have to be careful where you walk or turn to avoid knocking things over. In addition, the staff seemed overwhelmed, constantly running around making coffee, and at times there was no one available to let guests in, which is not acceptable. There is rooftop bar area with swimming pool , but no sitting are to enjoy a drink only beach chairs ..not every one wants to lay down on this ! Adding some normal chairs for th guest will be great and also people will wanna stay.

Ravi (10/5): - Everything was great about the hotel- perfect location , great staff. They gave us room early at 11 am which was a plus as we were tired after a long flight from Mexico ! Everything was walking distance from the hotel! Breakfast was repetitive and can have more options on different days. Not much options for vegetarian except beans and some rices . Breads were great.
