Guest Reviews
- Gyan (6/5): - Nicely located but very basic. No eating facilities in this hotel
- FREIDOON (2/5): - Inconvenient and hard to find the property. Parking was off site and hard to get too.
- Alfredo (6/5): Don't expect too much - The only good thing about this hotel is the location. It is right at the edge of old town. Very easy to navigate.
Hotels.com should not allow to call this place a 4star hotel. Maybe back in the 80s it was, but not by today's standards. I'm not even mad cause you get what you paid for I guess. Not gonna lie though, i was expecting it to be really really really really bad after reading the reviews. The decor could really use an upgrade. The hotel is located on a third floor of an abandoned mall. The pictures online are not the same at all.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not what was expected - We ended up leaving our luggage in the room and finding a different hotel room for our one night stay.
Did not realize the rooms sit on top of a huge nightclub that ends at 5am. There was also an “incident” that broke the elevator. Grateful they had access to a different elevator…but this isn’t a great place to stay unless you’re stumbling up from the nightclub looking for a room.
- David Andrew (8/5): - Central location
- Craig (10/5): - Generally good place to stay, central as it gets. Staff helpful, arranged airport transfers for us. Out of hours check in wasn’t a problem. Communal areas in need of some TLC but rooms were recently modernised.
- Rita (10/5): - Amazing location
- Adam James (10/5): - Great location . Staff were very helpful and friendly
- Shirley (4/5): No sleeping facilities for baby - Rooms were fine however we specified at time of booking and again 5 days prior to stay that we required a baby cot.
There was no cot in the room on arrival. We requested one and were told one would be put in the room. When we returned to the room it was not there and there was nobody in reception to ask. We phoned the hotel manager who said he would deliver one, now 11pm approx and needing somewhere for baby to sleep. Eventually a cot was delivered but it was broken and unsafe for baby to use. Baby had nowhere to sleep which was unacceptable. Could not therefore recommend using this hotel if travelling with a child.
- elizabeth (6/5): - The bathroom and bed were clean but there was a big stain on the sofa. Automatic check- in was ok but we would have struggled if we had not been brought by a TAXI that was booked via the hotel. TAXI was great
- Jun (10/5): - Great staff and easy check-in and -out!
- Jun (10/5): - Great staff and very helpful
- Ola (6/5): - Very very noisy from nearby club
- Rhonda (10/5): - I did t like the exterior and the modernness of the room
- Briony (4/5): - The room was large, central location, friendly receptionist. Difficult to find entrance at night as in partially empty shopping centre and limited information provided on booking.
Dirty duvets and no food available.
No hot water at 8.30pm. In the morning we had hot water but plug blocked and so shower flooded bathroom.
No secure storage available for luggage once checked out although the staff did allow us to leave it luggage in hallway.
- Violet (4/5): - Horrible. "Hotel" is the top floor of an abandoned mall. Very unsafe, creepy, and reminiscent of the walking dead. It got even worse when we were kept up all night from the nightclub next door and people screaming outside
- Todd (4/5): - The location was good and the staff was friendly. But they missrepresented the room, they call it a suite and charge 200 extra for an extra person. But its actually just a single small room. And the a/c doesnt work, which makes it really hard to sleep.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Do not stay if you want to get some sleep - This is not a hotel. It's a bunch of rooms in the 3rd floor above an abandoned mall (if you have a lot of luggage it's hard to get it there)
Worse of all - it's above a nightclub and is impossible to sleep till 5am till the nightclub stops the music.
- Tom (2/5): Loud and no money back - Had to leave the hotel after our first night because there is a night club right underneath the hotel that is open until 5am. The hotel shakes. When we were leaving they said they would give us our money back for the time we didn’t stay there only- no refund for the bad night where we had to leave the hotel and walk the city at 4am. We have yet to receive our money back- over $1000. Not sure what this hotel thinks but they should contact us.
- Loc (10/5): - Clean, staffs is very nice, reasonable price, area convenient.
- Wee (10/5): - Great location
- Sylvia (10/5): - The staff was super friendly and reached out to arrange airport transfers before our arrival. We were located close to a main street leading to the riverwalk. The only issue was that we were able to hear loud music from a disco club into the early morning. Fantastic place other than this minor inconvenience.
- CHRISTA (4/5): - The hotel was inside a store, the elevator was not working so we had to use the escalators.
Good location
- Suzanne (10/5): - Huge room. Very clean and comfortable.
- Ryan (2/5): - Wouldn't recommend. This property is located in a mall, and after a certain time you have to use a back entrance which was pretty shady. Felt more like a prison.
Both my girlfriend and I have rashes from something being used on the bedding.
Staff was friendly and helped book a transfer to the airport which was nice.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The ladies at the reception desk where exceptional .
- Lenore (10/5): Spacious Room near the Old Town for a Bargain - The hotel is located on the third floor of a shopping mall with only 10 rooms and located in the heart of the city. You have to enter the shopping mall to find the hotel. We selected the Deluxe Suite, City View room that included 1 very comfy king bed, a double sofa bed, and an infant crib at a rate of only $56. We were in room no. 311. It was lovely modern room, spacious, clean, and the view of the old town was spectacular. The private bathroom was spacious, immaculate, and perfect. We had a comfy king size bed with a sofa bed that Dominic slept on. The hotel confirmed a Pack n Play would be available for our baby to sleep. The staff were friendly, professional, and provided valuable tourist information about Split.
The main reasons we selected this hotel was because of its location to the old town, the spectacular view, and the price could not be beat. The hotel was only a 4 minute walk from the Gregory of Nin Statue, a 5 minute walk to the Diocleatian's Palace and Cathedral of Saint Dominus, a 13 minute walk to the Port of Split, and the Split Marina was only 21 minutes. Available amenities included: a coffee shop/cafe, self parking (a huge perk!), airport shuttle, 24-hour front desk, air conditioning, front desk safe, self-serve laundry, multi-lingual staff, luggage storage, and free WiFi. The rooms included free cribs (a necessity while traveling with an infant), a refrigerator, private bathroom, and free toiletries.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Thought that parking would be on site but was at an open air parking station, which was a short walk but a long drive from the accommodation and one euro per hour. Accommodation very close to old town and had a great meal at Chops and Grill nearby.
- Jennifer (10/5): Centrally Located, Clean with Elevator. - Great location, walking distance to all of Splits tourist areas, public buses, port. The staff was excellent and helpful and the hotel is spotless. Its a little difficult to find, as it is on the 3rd floor if a shopping mall, but for those with mobity issues, the elevator, which is difficult to find in Split old town, is a huge plus.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very nice, spacious rooms in a great location next to old town, with exceptional staff.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The room was comfortable, and the location was great. However, there was a disco bar below the hotel floor that played from 1 AM to 4 AM the nights we were there. We would not have selected this hotel if we had known.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The accommodation (I cannot call this a hotel or even an Inn) lacks service and support. This is really a converted apartment.
The biggest problem is the lack of service and support, especially after hour check.
They should at least provide detailed information for the check-in process and after hour check-in process.
The after hour check-in has to use a back entrance which is dark, unpleasant.
Also, we selected the paid parking and it took us more than an hour to find the parking garage due to lack of detailed instruction and direction. This is horrible experience at midnight after travelling for hours to arrive.
- Diane (4/5): - We didn't like this place at all. Had to enter through a department store (wasn't really a hotel at all, just two levels of rooms above the department store). The people at the desk were not helpful. Had trouble getting in when we arrived, and couldn't reach the front desk by phone. No onsite restaurant or breakfast service. The staff didn't know how to operate a hotel service. Ran out of toilet paper twice during our stays.
- Eimear (8/5): Location location location - Great location and spacious room
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location, friendly and helpful staff, reasonable price
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Location good but hotel was 2 Star. —————-/////-////-//////////////////////:
- Verified traveler (8/5): - the room was very nice and kept spotless, its location is fantastic and I must say the day time receptionist falla with a beard was fantastic an absolute gentleman, there is no amienities breakfast etc or pool but its excellent if these things are not necessary as they were not for my trip
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Really nice place, but exterior being renovated so entrance is very dodgy looking
- Irene MH (6/5): Great location and friendly staff, but ...... - The rooms were spacious and nicely decorated but amenities were threadbare ie other than a shower cap and 2 tiny botles of 'hair and body shampoo' nothing else was provided. The front office staff were friendly and helpful and location of the hotel was superb, being just a few minutes' walk to the harbour promenade. However the entrance which had to be through United Colors of Benetton was limited to the hours between 9am-9pm;and the lift access, outside of those hours,at the back to the building was unpleasant as we had to suffer a terrible stench all the time while waiting for the lift. Additionally the front entrance lift was out of service for 2 out of the 3 days that we were staying at the hotel.
- Teresa (10/5): Love this hotel! - Amazing place! Beautiful, clean and in the heart of everything. Was one of our favorite places we stayed during our trip! Definitely would stay again!
- Karen (10/5): Great Location to stay in Split! - Great location - less than 5 min walk to the old city walls of Split.
Jure Mikec from the hotel emailed me specific directions from the Ferry to the hotel, plus arranged a hotel transfer to the airport! He was very kind and prompt with any questions I had. Very nice place to stay while in Split!
- Shu Fen (6/5): Alright - Good location, thin walls. Stay was okay
- Z&l (6/5): - No parking
It was difficult to find the location
Difficult excess the property, above shopping center on the fifth floor
No Restaurant no food service
I will not recommend it to anybody
- PT (8/5): - Newish hotel with convenient location on edge of Old Town Split. Located on 3rd floor of shopping plaza so access is a bit odd in off hours but the front desk staff was very friendly and helpful and the room was very nice. Lots of space, nice modern bathroom facilities, very clean, had a small fridge which was handy. We were recovering from a long flight and our room was very comfortable allowing for a great rest and good location for an initial foray into the city. We would recommend this hotel. Good value.
- Kath (8/5): Well positioned hotel - Prima Life is a very well positioned hotel inside a shopping complex and within a two minute walk of the water and old town. The rooms are extra large and the staff very friendly and English speaking. Other than a paint job I had no issue with the rooms.
- Jack (8/5): Great location. - Loved the location and the nice staff.
- Mike (10/5): - truly a joy!
- Altaaf (10/5): Excellent room! - Situated 2 minute walk from diocletian's palace. Modern styled room, with excellent facilities. Friendly helpful front desk staff. Would definitely recommend this room. This accommodation does not offer breakfast (for those interested)
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Didnt know what to expect on Expidea it was listed as a hotel, so on arrival at address was unsure of where the place was. It was on top of a large shop. It is not a hotel and nit a hostel, its inbetween. The room was spacious and clean. It looks like it was only recently furbished. The front desk staff were fantastic. If you book and come with a car make sure you book a parking space with them as they have limited car spaces. I would definitively stay there again. It is right in the old town of Split.
- Heather (10/5): Great nights - Great location being right out the old city and near the marina for walking. Modern rooms and helpful staff. City stay in a high rise above the shopping mall. Very nice and safe feeling.
- Daniel (10/5): - The hotel is on top of a commercial shopping but it´s good located, clean and confortable.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Location was great but room was not as advertised. More like a bunker as the only windows were 10' above our heads and offered no view whatsoever. Also, hotel is sited above shopping mall and requires entry through dingy and suspect back alley after 9pm.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Superb location - Great boutique style hotel with clean large rooms. Limited to no parking on premises so be ready to walk a little.
- Michelle (8/5): AC and Mall stay hotel surprise and delight!’ - We had an excellent stay in the central location of PRIMA life. The hotel is actually in a mall which the AC was a welcome break from the heat. There is an elevator to the rooms. It was during the week that we stayed so relatively quiet. The location is prime for the waterfront and old town. We had Nescafé for the morning. Hotel staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Rooms were clean and modern. Most of all we loved the location!!
- claus (2/5): EXTREMELY noisy at night. - EXTREMELY noisy all night from nightclub below.
some personel were very helpful ( one person ) - the rest were lazy and uninterested in doing their jobs.
- Cathrin (8/5): Ok Hotel but located in a mall - Its clean and Nice people etc but doesnt Really feel like a 4 star hotel.
- Ben (6/5): Pros and cons! - The room itself was spacious, the bed was very large and comfortable and it had great air conditioning. Check in was a very quick and easy and the staff were helpful on our first night, giving lots of amazing informtaion and tips.
HOWEVER, we stayed a total of 9 nights ... after the 5th night we had to ask the cleaner to change our bedsheets. This was the only time they were changed the whole trip so I feel if we did not ask then they wouldn’t of been changed at all.
The rooms are on the 3rd floor of a shopping mall and during our stay both lifts and the escalator were out of order so we had to walk up and down the stairs which was a struggle.
On check out at 6.30am and while it was stated reception was 24 hours there was no staff to be seen at the desk and after waiting for 15 mins we had to leave for the airport without seeing anyone.
Our shower didn’t seem to drain away properly and leaked water onto the bathroom floor. We told reception about this issue and all they offered us were additional floor towels to cover the wet area.
Underneath the mall is the main nightclub in split ‘central club’ you are able to hear the music throughout the night and at 6am when everyone leaves the club you are sure to be woken by loud, merry youngsters where they seem to hang around outside waiting for buses and taxis for up to 1 or 2 hours. Taking the club out of the equation the hotel has a great location to visit the old town and everything else in split.
- Ben (10/5): Heaven - Everything just went well and the aircon and wifi were good as
- nina (10/5): Modern and clean - Clean and new hotel. Great bakery right outside the "mall" entrance. Very conveniently located. Helpful staff.
- Eduardo (10/5): Perfect location. Very clean. - Perfect location, just by the old town.
Very clean and comfortable.
- Stephanie (10/5): Great location - The location of this hotel cannot be beat, it is just steps away from the Diocletians Palace, tons of restaurants and the promenade. It is a bit different because it’s inside a shopping center but I actually thought that was kind of cool. The hotel recieption also helped us book a last minute tour that was sold out everywhere else.
- Jill (4/5): Nightclub!! - Great location and wonderful staff but right next to a nightclub. Be very careful what room you get!
- Ran (10/5): Great location - Great location close to the center. The hotel is on the the 3rd floor of a shopping center with a public parking in 3 minutes walk.
- Stephen (10/5): Modern room in downtown core - Excellent modern room. No windows but no view any way. Service was great. AC is programmable.
- Katalin (10/5): A decent room - Great location! No problems.
- Jean (10/5): Great location! - We had a little problem for finding the hotel. The hotel is in the shopping mall, very close to the old town. Great location for all attraction. The parking is not very convenient if you have a car.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great rooms - Prime location, great rooms and super friendly staff.
- denise (8/5): Parking a problem - I would give this hotel a better rating, but I had to look for their parking, a mile away, for a long time. Ruined the stay. They should have someone drive you to parking garage. View from top floor coffee house was amazing.
- Clayton (10/5): - Fantastic hotel and awesome location. Staff was warm and friendly and being right on the water made the sunset amazing!!!! The food was also outstanding. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent services w/ excellent location - Upon on our arrive we were greeted by Karla. I cannot express enough how awesome she was. From the excellent recommendation to the restaurant reservations she facilitated for us. The hotel location is very centralized, everything was a short walk. Would definitely stay here again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Good stay - Very nice hotel close to everything
- Paul (10/5): So handy for old town - a gem! - Just a one night stay but absolutely superb. A lovely place, would happily use again.
- Mark (10/5): - Great location next to old town, rooms are spacious and clean and the staff if friendly
- Yu Wu (10/5): Great! - The hotel was inside the building so you had to enter from back door if you come back late. But overall the stay was great and the reception was friendly!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Comfortable and great location - The room at Prima Life Spalato was spacious and comfortable with three beds and a sofa. Interesting arrangement with the hotel 'in' a small mall on 5th floor of shopping center. After hours access is different from main entrance but easy to use. Fantastic service. Thomaslav was so accommodating and helpful. Great location in the Palace.
- ARVIN (10/5): Surprisingly pleasant stay! - It was a pleasant surprise to stay in this hotel located atop a shopping center and very close to interesting sights.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great Value, Exceptional Location - Took the recommendations from previous customers and found the place to meet or exceed our expectations. Nice place, not over the top but a perfect fit for the price. You exit into the center of the old town so access can’t be more convenient if you’re there for the water and Old Town sites.
- Sheila (10/5): Visiting the old town of Split - Everything about this hotel met my his standards. It is across the road from the old town so is very easy for sightseeing, shopping and for eating out. I would have liked breakfast on the premises or served in my room (I have found this an excellent service in other very small hotels). I liked their welcoming email before my arrival; they let me know the tours they could plan for me and I was able to have an excellent 90-minute walking tour the next day. O, and four floors under the hotel have outlet stores!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Wonderful place to stay in Split - PRIMA was a delight. The staff were courteous (one of them even went with us to park the car, so we wouldn't get lost) by giving us lots of information on the area and recommendations, the room was better than we expected with a king bed and modern, large bathroom, and it is in a perfect location just outside the old town walls. They even have local alcohol samples for guests to try.
- John (8/5): - The rooms are nice and once you get your bearings it's actually in a great location, only a 100m walk from the old town. However the rooms are at the top of a department store and the enterance is hard to find (it's down a side entrance).
- Popcorn (10/5): Modern and Spacious Hotel - Nice hotel and very modern with plenty of room. Very clean and close to the water and the centre of the old town.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Will be back! - I was traveling alone in Split and this was the perfect spot. Everyone on the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, room was super clean and comfortable, and it was just on the edge of the old town. I felt super safe walking to and from the hotel even after dark. Great location and experience.
- Bhavika (10/5): Amazing location and a luxury room - My Boyfriend and I went for 7 nights mid Sept and thought let's give this hotel above the department store a try...something different. Glad we did as the room defo met it's 4* standard and the location was perfect! Everything is 5-10mins walk away and we were in the heart of the Old town Split. It was very clean and the shower was big. The air con system was great. We didn't want to come back so soon. Defo recommended the hotel as the staff are really helpful and provide you with extras to make your stay comfortable :)
- Rachel (10/5): Fantastic! - We stayed at Prima Life Spalato for 3 nights and it was fantastic! Prior to our arrival, we were contacted by management to give us directions to the hotel which made us feel very welcome. This is a brand new hotel right in the centre of Split, within a 3 minute walk of Diocletian's Palace. Loads of restaurants and shops nearby too. The standard of comfort and cleanliness in the room was excellent - extremely comfortable bed and beautiful marble bathroom (the shower was great too!). All members of staff were lovely and informative - they offered many recommendations for things to do as well as directions. Our flight home was not until 10pm so we enquired the day before if we could possibly arrange a later checkout than 10am. We were fully expecting to pay extra for this however the very kind staff member allowed us to check out until 12pm free of charge which was a much appreciated gesture. Would definitely recommend! Thank you Prima Life Spalato!
- jodi (8/5): Love this place - The place is beautiful. The staff amazing! Location perfection!!!
