Les infrastructures sont globalement au niveau attendu d’un établissement haut de gamme : salle de sport propre et bien équipée, installations fonctionnelles et modernes.
Le personnel constitue un véritable levier de satisfaction : attentif, disponible et orienté service, avec une approche client très qualitative. Le kids club est également un point fort notable, bien organisé et adapté aux familles. Le positionnement restauration n’est pas aligné avec les standards attendus d’un hôtel 5 étoiles. La qualité du dîner reste en deçà des attentes, tant sur le plan gustatif que sur la diversité de l’offre.
Par ailleurs, l’expérience nocturne est insuffisamment valorisée. L’absence d’animation, de musique live ou de programmation culturelle crée un déficit d’ambiance.

Le personnel est vraiment à l’écoute et attentionné, avec de petites attentions très appréciées pour les anniversaires, ce qui rend le séjour encore plus spécial.
Mention spéciale au spa : les massages étaient parfaits, un vrai moment de détente et de bien-être.
Le buffet du petit déjeuner ainsi que celui du soir étaient succulents, variés et il y en avait pour tous les goûts. Chaque repas était un plaisir.
Malgré cela, nous avons passé un excellent séjour et nous recommandons cet hôtel sans hésiter ! Le seul petit point à améliorer concerne le restaurant de la plage, qui semble un peu laissé à l’abandon, avec un service parfois assez long.

O facto de o hotel estar um pouco mais afastado da vila e da maior parte dos hóteis, o que fazia com que a praia estivesse claramente mais vazia (também um pouco mais ventosa). O conforto das espreguiçadeiras na zona da piscina. A vegetação e toda a arquitectura do hotel, claramente um nível acima dos restantes hotéis na linha da praia. Jantar buffet poderia ser melhor (um nível abaixo do pequeno almoço). Porta do quarto e alguns moveis com alguns sinais de uso apesar de o hotel ser relativamento novo. Vista do quarto - com o tempo de antecedência com que reservámos, esperávamos uma vista melhor. O nosso quarto tinha vista para uma zona do hotel com baldes e coisas de limpeza (definitivamente a parte que gostámos menos foi a vista e o quarto que nos foi atribuído).

Quelques détails ne permettent pas de dire que c’est un vrai hôtel de luxe: pas de bouchon de bain dans l’une de nos chambres, évacuation de la douche qui passe sous la porte et inonde toute la salle de bain, serviettes de piscine légèrement tachée, fiantes sur les tables du déjeuner, piscine froide, déchets le matin sur les tables de la plage.

Beach was very good The pool was very cold all the time. The food was mediocre. There was no entertainment in the evening except the bar, so the children struggled with the evenings.

The hotel is well maintained are cleaned by the very helpful staff who respond to every request.The biggest let down is the evening food overingsBuffet although advertising theme nights we found that the choices are mainly the same each night is Poor quality meat or fish which is displayed in a poor way (hacked up and piled up) Very limited soup option side dishes are all repeated and are very similar Pasta station without garlic or Italian cheese Desert station repeat every couple days no ice cream.Do not have any children’s food section.In our view the food lacks taste and is usually not hot at best Luke warm also limited variety repeated too regularly.We ate at the Breeze and found this experience much the same after taking the waiters advice for best steak found it tough and served cold when changed only brought steak and fries no sauce or vegetables left food and have not been back quite expensive for poor experience.Need together evening food much better as this spoils a otherwise very good hotel

Hotel disponibiliza diariamente garrafas de água nos quartos. As refeições no Hotel são o ponto fraco:
- Jantar buffet banal e muito repetitivo, com muita insistência em pizas e massas.
- As temáticas dos jantar não surpreendem.
- Reposição muito lenta.
- Ao almoço, no bar da piscina - o tempo de espera nos pedidos chegou a ser doloroso.

Friendly staff that helped us book a private island tour last minute. The cleanliness has to improve! The whole room was dirty: spots on the bedding, towels with holes, hair and dirt in the bathroom, a broken tap, and dirty sunbeds. The whole walkway from the reception to the beach is with wood panels with a space. High heels got stuck between the wood and then broke.
- grahamg83 (8/5): Lovely overall - Just returned from a lovely week away to cape Verde Sal island . In my humble opinion it is a very nice hotel , but 4 star at best .
We had a room on level 3 overlooking the pool with a slight sea view. The room was a good size , very comfy king size bed , lovely overhead rain shower ,and the room was cleaned daily by the staff .
Bottles of water were changed out each day , handy for tea/ coffee , and the room is also equipped with a mini fridge and a safety deposit box in one of the wardrobes.
The room has a large tv , but no English language , not even BBC world service. There are about 6 sports channels ( mostly football re- runs ) 2 music channels and a browser channel , which I couldn't get anything on it .
There is wifi through out the hotel and is a decent speed ( checked on a speed app ) .
The area all around the pool is nice and there are plenty of sunbeds , also lots of subeds down on the private beach . I did notice on our second day a small amount of beds being reserved with towels , and a member of staff then leaving cards on these beds telling people not to reserve beds or belonging s will be removed , something I think all hotels should do .
One thing that does let the hotel down is the food . Breakfast is fine , but it's the evening meals which aren't great .They have 3 theme night s with food on a rotation , Asian, African, and South American . I wouldn't like to be here with kids for meals as there isn't a lot of choice for them , there are no burgers , chicken burgers , chips etc , the usual food kids like , and no treats like ice cream .
The sweet / pudding offerings were quite limited and there was no cream to go with the small cakes .
The wifi was patchy at times around the pool area , but it's fine on sunbeds closer to the hotel rooms , further away from the pool .
In summing up , the Hilton is a nice hotel , let down by the evening meals standard, but my wife and I did enjoy our stay .
- U9824ZRpault (8/5): Hilton Cabo Verde an honest comment. - Large and well established lovely hotel, situated around a huge pool and a parallel kiddies pool. Our spacious room and bathroom had a good sized balcony facing the pool and the beach, where we sat each night after dinner and entertainment in the open air cocktail lounge on the ground floor. After reading so many recent reports of illness in Cabo Verde, we were very concerned about the possibility of illness and with this in mind we stocked up on pot noodles and snacks and a medical cabinet 🤣🤣! However I can confirm that the Hilton hotel has its own water filtration system, also the water with meals and the ice are made from bottled mineral water, we all had ice in drinks every day without problem. So, 10 out of 10 to the hotel for that. The only slightly negative comment I can honestly make is that the food was not really up to 5 star quality or the presentation. We have travelled extensively and can give an honest opinion. It was "ok" and probably "good" for a lot of hotels but was definitely not 5 star. A wider variety would help.
For example, one evening they had a selection of meats, Turkey, Suckling pig, Lamb etc, a nice selection but they were just placed on the buffet table, to take the meat we had to try and pull the meat off, with a pair of tongs, hence the turkey looked like it had been attacked with a machete by the time everyone had attempted to take a portion. Instead the meats could have been carved and presented in a manner that made it easy for everyone to enjoy and go a bit further? Maybe nit picking for some but its things like this that people comment on hoping the hotel take customers comments on board. On a very positive note, "all" the staff were extremely happy to help in whatever way they could, from the people on reception to the waiters and the maids, always smiling with nothing any trouble to them.

- Melanie (3/5): Nie wieder! - Der Pool war ganz schön. Wir sind mitten in der Nacht angereist und wurden von einer Menge Kakerlaken im Zimmer begrüßt. Nachdem ich ca. 15 Viecher getötet hatte, habe ich irgendwann aufgegeben, weil es bereit 2.30 Uhr morgens war. Man wollte mir dann eine „Tiefenreinigung“ des Zimmers anbieten, was ich freundlich abgelehnt habe. Ich habe darauf bestanden, dass man uns ein neues Zimmer „tiefengereinigt“ für den weiteren Aufenthalt zur Verfügung stellt, was nach einigem Hin-und-her dann auch erfolgt ist. Dieses Zimmer war dann Kakerlaken-frei.
Ebenfalls war das Frühstück auf unterstem Niveau.

Cependant, ils sont peu formés à l'hôtellerie et font comme ils peuvent avec les moyens qu'on leur donne ! Ce n'est pas un HILTON, passez clairement votre chemin !
Et non le fait que l'on soit en Afrique, Monsieur le Directeur, n'excuse pas la qualité médiocre de l'hôtel.
Il joue sur le fait qu'il a peu de concurrence sur L'île, mais clairement, cet hôtel n'est même pas un 4 étoiles.... Nous qui connaissons beaucoup de HILTON, nous n'avons jamais vu un hôtel de la chaine comme celui-ci... On nous a attribué une chambre inférieure à ce que nous avions payé en nous faisant croire que l'on était surclassés... Il a fallu se plaindre à la réception pour qu'ils reconnaissent leur erreur. Nous avons passé la première journée à gérer cela.
La liste est trop longue sur tout ce qui est à revoir dans cet hôtel : ménage superficiel, le Kids CLub un simple poulailler, un buffet médiocre, les boutiques fermés car le patron est en vacances (une blague), pas de distributeurs, aucun service de dépannage (crème solaire ect)... Des crêpières crasseuses et on vous fait le petit déjeuner la dessus... On vous fait payer des taxis une fortune lorsque le taxi est 2 fois moins cher.... Bref...
Il nous reste plus qu'à oublier ce séjour !
- Nicola (4/5): - Location is beautiful and the facilities are good. Staff made a few mistakes but instead of acknowledging it they became a little aggressive. For instance they did not charge us the room costs during the check- in process, which appears to be their standard (their mistake) instead of acknowledging it they send us a mail under the door saying that we should pay otherwise immediate eviction (they did not use this word but same meaning) that I found almost offensive. Also in what world you pay during the check-in?? Either you pay at booking or at check out. This is the typical procedure. Anyway if we would have known, we would have respected their procedure. Also they ask you to put a deposit for the expenses in the hotel. Another mistakes they did at the check in, nobody told us. So we had to pay for expenses at the restaurants etc. The first time we got dinner at the complementary restaurant we asked for a bottle of wine and we wanted to charge on the room. The guy at the cashier desk was rude and aggressive even though we where very collaborative. We just needed to go to the room to pick up the credit card. The same guy (probably the restaurant manager or room manager) has been always not really welcoming and smiling. Always pretty rude and aggressive. To be honest you don't expect that experience in an Hilton. The guys should not work facing client. Not his job! Also, long lines to accommodate for dinner an the restaurant. Almost 30 minutes waiting. And cherry on the cake, 14 euros to rent the bicycles... 14 euros!!!! Basically the cost to buy them. A lot of falls from grace for an Hilton honestly!!

- Carla (9/5): Parfait et No Stress - Le séjour au Hilton Cabo Verde Sal Resort a été tout simplement incroyable. L’hôtel bénéficie d’un emplacement idéal, proche de Santa Maria et avec la plage accessible en quelques minutes seulement, ce qui est vraiment appréciable. Chaque matin, le petit-déjeuner était un vrai plaisir : hyper copieux, varié, avec un large choix pour satisfaire toutes les envies.
Les chambres sont spacieuses, confortables et très bien aménagées. Sur la plage privée de l’hôtel, on trouve de superbes chaises, très confortables, parfaites pour se détendre face à la mer. Et que dire de la piscine de l’hôtel… absolument incroyable ! Un vrai espace de détente où il fait bon se relaxer à tout moment de la journée.
Une expérience vraiment mémorable que je recommande sans hésitation. Malgré les nombreux atouts du Hilton Hotels & Resorts, certains points sont à améliorer. Tout d’abord, il manque un étendoir pour pouvoir étendre le linge, ce qui est assez contraignant, surtout lors d’un séjour en bord de mer.
Par ailleurs, le ménage n’était pas toujours à la hauteur : parfois un peu bâclé, ce qui est décevant pour un établissement de ce standing, d’autant plus pour un hôtel resort & spa.
Ces détails n’enlèvent pas totalement le charme de l’hôtel, mais ils mériteraient clairement d’être revus pour être en accord avec le niveau de prestation attendu.

- Sehr saubere und durchgehend gepflegte Anlage
- Resort ist wunderschön und mit viel Liebe zum Detail umgesetzt. Nichts liegt hier zufällig rum. Alles ist hochwertig ausgestattet.
- Das Personal ist extrem freundlich, zuvorkommend und sehr bemüht. Exzellent & professionell!
- Alles hat problemlos geklappt vor, während undn nach dem Aufenthalt. Der Transfer war pünktlich. Abmachungen/ Versprechungen wurden immer eingehalten. - die Raumausstattung zeigt wenige kleine Mängel: wir mussten eine WC-Bürste separat anfragen und bringen lassen, es gibt keinen Handtuchhalter beim Waschbecken & die Decken sind für manchen Geschmack zu dick. Dies ist besonders relevant für diejenigen, welche aus gesundheitlichen Gründen keine Klimaanlage in der Nacht nutzen möchten. Für die Nachtruhe selbst war es okay, da die Nächte kühler sind. Jeden Morgen bin ich jedoch verschwitzt und stark überwärmt aufgewacht.
- Reinigungspersonal wechselt jeden Tag die Handtücher, obwohl diese - gem. dem ausgestellten Verhaltenskodex im Badezimmer für den Beitrag zum Umweltschutz- nur gewechselt werden, wenn diese auf dem Boden platziert werden.

Lange und breite Strände, bester Wind zum Surfen, wunderbare Wellen. Es ist nucht weit zzm Zentrum von Santa Maria und trotzdem ist weit weg von Trubel.
Das Frühstück ist klasse und vielfältig.
Alllein die Spatzen nerven etwas.
Auch das Buffet am Abend ist variantenreich und es findet sich für jeden Geschmack etwas zum Essen.
Jeden Abend finden auch musikalische Angebote statt. Aber auch hier ist alles sehr amgenehm. Die Musik lädt zum Tanzen ein oder auch nur zum Small Talk oder zum Träumen.
Der Pool ist leider nicht geheizt. Er lädt aber zzm Sonnenbaden ein.
Die Hängematten im Park und die überdachten 2-er Liegen sind sehr angenehm, so dass man immer etwas passendes findet.
Absolutetes Highlight ist die Strandbar! Dort kann man gut essen odrer auch nur einen Cocktail trinken mit wunderbarem Blick aufs Meer.

- traveldoc65 (8/5): Almost excellent - An overall excellent hotel . 20 minutes from the airport then a warm welcome and efficient check in . We had a wonderful room with partial sea view overlooking the pool from our balcony which had mid afternoon sunshine. The beds were comfortable and plenty of hot water in the shower with Crabtree unisex toiletries. There was a kettle with instant coffee, teabags and powdered creamer. No milk.Copious bottled water was supplied - 6x 1.5 litres on arrival and reliably replaced. There was a fridge which wasn’t cold on arrival but was soon down to temperature. The curtains provided good blackout at night. The rooms were quiet. The electric sockets were European round twin . The WiFi was mostly adequate but occasionally patchy. The buffet breakfast was excellent with lots of variety. There were 2 coffee machines which were always busy however it was also possible to order coffees from the barista at the bar. In addition to juice dispensers there was also fresh juice available alongside complementary sparkling wine. There were often queue at the egg stations. The dinners in the Magellan restaurant were not quite up to the standards of the breakfast but were quite good. There was a good variety of salads and always 3 fish and 3 meat options from the grill in addition to the mains on offer. Vegetables were often overcooked. There were theme nights on a Friday ( Cape Verdean) and Monday ( Latin) There were a few cheeky sparrows that would take advantage of unattended drinks and dinner plates. There was quite a cool draft by the glass partitions in the evening.We did get a few mosquito bites but they weren’t numerous. Derik was an excellent and attentive waiter. We had no concerns over risks of food poisoning . We loved the ambiance in the bar and there was a happy hour every night from 7 to 8 pm where good value cocktails were shaken with a smile by Marcos. The entertainment was relaxed and low key. The spa was excellent and a real indulgent treat. There was quite a bit of reservation of sun beds by towels but this wasn’t necessary as there were enough sun beds for all and it was possible to order by QR code from the pool bar direct to your sunbed. The pool looked beautiful but was unpleasantly cold at 22-23 degrees C particularly with the constant breeze.It is disappointing that it is unheated. I booked yoga online for the Friday but it said unavailable- there were on,y 3 participants! I booked for the following Monday however the yoga instructor was on holiday, fortunately the personal trainer stepped in and did some stretching. The hotel is a 15 minute walk to the centre of Santa Maria along a beachside walkway or along the road.The is a mini mart a 5 minute walk towards town where it was possible to get milk , snacks etc. It was possible to pay by card or in cash with Euros. The hotel is right next to the water/ wind sports centre .Right outside the hotel the sea is quite choppy and wavy and not ideal for swimming.Walking along to the bay in the centre of the town was calmer and better for swimming. We were on a half board package which allowed us an allowance at the Bounty Beach restaurant but breakfast there was an additional 20 euros per person which didn’t seem worth it as the buffet was good .Prior to arrival we had been under the impression that we could eat in either location which wasn’t the case which was disappointing. We were however underwhelmed by the Bounty see my separate review.

J’ai dû attendre 2h30 qu’il arrive c’est inadmissible au prix de la chambre
Et le soir a mon retour dans la chambre, les chaînes fonctionnaient sauf les chaînes françaises
La réception n’était même pas au courant le matin du check out, du problème de la veille donc j’imagine un problème de communication entre eux

On peut aller à pied au village qui est plus animé par les locaux et s’est pas très loin.

The hotel also benefits from a very good location, which makes it convenient for exploring the surrounding area The facilities are quite old and clearly in need of significant renovation. Considering that this is a Hilton property and the room rates are relatively high, one would expect a much better level of maintenance and modernization. Overall, the price does not seem to match the current condition of the facilities.
- Rui (10/5): Estadia maravilhosa - O que mais gostei foi da simpatia e eficiência dos funcionários. Durante o pequeno-almoço, quando perguntei onde se encontravam as colheres, a resposta foi simplesmente: “Deixe estar, eu vou buscar uma para si.” O mesmo aconteceu à chegada ao quarto: a funcionária acompanhou-me e mostrou-me pessoalmente onde se situava.
As omeletes feitas no momento ao pequeno-almoço eram deliciosas.
O quarto era grande e muito tranquilo.
O bar tinha ótimas bebidas e o espetáculo de música cabo-verdiana também foi muito bom.
Fiquei igualmente impressionado com a manutenção dos jardins: a relva estava impecável e os espaços eram limpos diariamente da areia do deserto.
O hotel está muito bem localizado. A praia fica muito próxima e tem um excelente beach club. O casino fica mesmo ao lado e dispõe de uma máquina ATM. Há sempre táxis à porta prontos a atender os hóspedes.
Estão de parabéns. Nada a assinalar. Apenas o facto da estadia ter sido muito curta

- Shkurte (5/5): Nicht nochmal… - Das Hotel hat eine Super Lage. Der Strand ist traumhaft Ich habe wirklich noch nie so etwas Schlimmes erlebt. Das Personal war durchgehend extrem unfreundlich. Man hatte ständig das Gefühl, zu stören, egal ob an der Rezeption, am Pool oder am Strand. Das Interesse am Gast ist gleich null. Man traut sich irgendwann gar nicht mehr, überhaupt etwas zu fragen.
Wenn man nicht extrem aufpasst, wird man regelrecht abgezockt. Es werden Dinge doppelt und dreifach berechnet und man muss mehrmals darauf hinweisen, damit es korrigiert wird. So etwas geht absolut nicht.
Die Anlage an sich ist zwar eigentlich schön, aber vieles ist kaputt und wird offenbar nicht richtig kontrolliert. Unser Bett war an der Seite kaputt, mein Mann hat es repariert.Der Kosmetikspiegel im Zimmer hat sogar Stromschläge verursacht – das ist nicht nur unangenehm, sondern gefährlich!
Das Essen war eine absolute Katastrophe. Extrem wenig Auswahl und das Wenige, das angeboten wurde, war komplett geschmacklos. So schlechtes Essen habe ich wirklich noch nie erlebt. Das Personal im Restaurant war völlig überfordert. Am letzten Abend war das Buffet um 18:30 Uhr nicht einmal ansatzweise fertig – es war einfach leer. Es dauerte fast eine Stunde, bis alles aufgefüllt war. Wobei es am Ende auch egal war, ob das Buffet voll oder leer ist, da das Essen ohnehin nicht genießbar war.
Für mich definitiv keine Empfehlung. Sehr enttäuschend.

- BenjaminDynamite (6/5): Great Beaches, But the Hilton Didn’t Live Up to 5 Stars - We chose Cape Verde for a winter sun escape, and on that front it absolutely delivered. ☀️ Guaranteed sunshine, warm temperatures, and just a 6-hour direct flight made it an easy and affordable getaway from Europe. If you’re looking to swap grey skies for endless blue horizons, this is a safe bet.
The beaches are truly stunning – wide, clean, and perfect for long walks and swimming.
We made sure to get out and explore, and that’s where the trip really came alive. The island tour gave us a great sense of local life and landscapes, the zip line was a fun adrenaline rush, and the catamaran trip with snorkelling was a highlight – great crew, clear water, and a fantastic atmosphere. Definitely recommend doing more than just staying at the resort.
That said, the island motto of “no stress” is very real… and can at times test your patience. There’s a lot of waiting around, things rarely run on time, and inefficiency seems to be part of the culture. If you arrive prepared mentally for that, it’s easier to accept — but it can be frustrating.
We stayed at the Hilton resort, which was pleasant enough but in our view not worthy of a 5-star rating. The service was inconsistent, cleanliness could have been better, and the food was underwhelming. The breakfast buffet was perfectly fine with good variety, but dinners were uninspiring and the quality didn’t match expectations for a hotel in that category.
Overall, Cape Verde is a good destination for winter sun, beaches, and a few memorable excursions. Just adjust expectations around service standards and embrace the “no stress” mindset as best you can.
Would we return? For the sunshine and beaches — maybe. For the hotel experience — probably not.

Lovely breakfast assortment and a table outside for breakfast is a must as it's so relaxing. Great that they replenish your water daily in your room, and plenty of it. Missed fresh milk in my room for tea and coffees.

- 411mandyg (10/5): Third time and there will be a fourth - This was our third stay at the Hilton Cape Verde. We thoroughly enjoyed this quiet hotel set on the beach surrounded by well maintained gardens. We were fortunate to be upgraded to a stunning ocean front suite as Diamond members. Our rooms were cleaned daily and for the first 10 days we received turn down service too, I am not sure why it stopped. The rooms were equipped with all you could need, including anti mosquito wipes, although these were not provided daily.
We ate in both the Magellan and Bounty Restaurants. The breakfast buffet in the Magellan is first rate, particularly the egg and pancake stations. The breakfast staff work hard to clear the tables, the new extra lounging chairs help free up tables outside as we always took our bubbles there at the end of breakfast! Claudette was super efficient and helpful. Unfortunately the buffet in the evening was not as good. However, there is a recent change in management and we have been assured it is going to improve.
We only had breakfast at The Bounty once, although the setting is idyllic we preferred the Magellan. We were fortunate to eat on our last evening with the new menu, it was much improved. Athough all the staff there are superb, Kenny and Cladia stand out.
We enjoyed evenings in The Cize bar; there are local musicians playing there 5 times a week. It is understated and just what we want; if a more lively, varied entertainment is more your style this is not the hotel for you. Leonardo, the manager of the bar, looked after us well and Neemi and the rest of the team there were fantastic. We had a few evening meals there; they were reasonably priced bar food. The prices of drinks in all the food and beverage outlets are the same and very reasonable for a hotel; happy hour in the Cize halves the prices of beers and cocktails.
The reception team were always helpful and we particularly appreciated Erdimara who so warmly checked us in and out. We met their new team member Edison who looks like he is going to be an asset.
We thoroughly enjoyed 2 weeks of winter sun in this beautiful hotel and very much look forward to seeing the changes being made by the new management when we return next year.
