Quiet neighborhood, and a friendly Siamese cat that demanded cuddles on the front porch, which I gladly gave. I was in town to visit my cousin who goes to Benedictine College, so didn't really do much in St. Joseph itself, except eat dinner at Boudreaux, which was tasty.

- Don (10/5): - This property was interesting. The home was absolutely beautiful. The room was perfect. Clean. Stayed very cool for early august in Missouri. Even the other visitors were very friendly. I loved the art. Just the decor, the vibe. It was all good. I actually kind of enjoyed fixing my own breakfast. Never been to a b and b like that... full access to the kitchen. Might not be for everyone. And no tvs in the rooms. 1 tv downstairs. I thought other guests were disappointed that the tv was being used. The pool table was alot of fun. There was some unusual noise from the carriage house... but it was fine. Overall, the atmosphere, and really the entire weekend, was very relaxing. We had an enjoyable escape. We will probably do it again. St. Joe is a good little town. The vinyard b and b is definitely worth checking.

- Marvin (10/5): - We stopped in St Joe to tour the historical museums. We decided to stay in a historic property, as part of the experience. The Vineyard B&B was perfect. It sits on "Mansion Hill", a very historic area of St Joe with many fantastic properties, some pristine and some waiting to be restored. The owners were very friendly and have a very interesting decorating sense. It felt like walking back into the 1890s coming in the front door. Highly recommend.

- Jennifer (5/5): For a certain type of person and experience… - Beautiful location although much of the historic area seems boarded up and vacant. An unusual experience. I actually never saw anyone while on the property. It was self check in and I never saw hosts or any guests. It may be obvious to others but this has very dated decor, which felt a bit unclean with some creepiness. I think it’s by design, but the decor included oddities like old doll heads and elves inside drinkware. Maybe this is to add to the lore of being haunted (I learned after my stay) but it wasn’t my thing. There were people in the garage making a lot of noise, sounded like fighting, in the evenings.

- richard (8/5): - The house is mostly finished but it appears to continue to need rehabbing. Loads of interesting art work and antiques. I would have liked some simple instructions of what was available and where to find items related to breakfast. I am fine with fixing my own, but feel like I spent a lot time looking for things and maybe missing available items. The family was responsive when we called about a malfunctioning smoke detector.

- Andrew (6/5): Unusual Stay - Odd set-up with no staff/host on site at all. You can prepare your own breakfast/coffee from what food is in the cupboards and fridge. Some other guests did this which meant we couldn't use the cooker. The decor is faux Victorian with a slight spooky vibe. You are very much left to your own devices with shared facilities.

- Melanie (9/5): Superb - Private nice sized ones room apartment, perfect for the the of us. Maybe I missed it in the original post but there was an extra bed in the living area so technically could sleep. :00 I thought I would have to sleep on a couch. Nice that there were some snacks and breakfast cereals and bars on hand for the morning to grab as well. The laundry room is located in the lower part of the carriage House right under the apartment. We were trying to go to bed early because we had to get up early and people were doing laundry well past 10:00 banging the doors of the washer and dryer and such as well as you're on top of a garage. The ice cream truck along with whoever had access to the garage got home about 9:30 which woke us up original.

We did not bake anything, but it was all available if we had wanted to do so. The bedroom was gorgeous and the bathroom was full of character. It was one of our best overnights, ever!

The Crown room restroom is down the hall and the shower/bathtub seems original. That’s nice but it’s a little hard to access after recent hip surgery.

- Verified traveler (6/5): - The crumbling steps at the entrance were not very welcoming. Initial impression is the house needs more upkeep. Inside furniture was amazing, but there was just too much of everything and the interior was very dark. I have stayed at Victorian B&B’s before and loved it. But this was more like a museum than a home. Also did not like having to make my own breakfast, plus I washed not only the dishes we used but some that were in the sink already, unwashed. On the positive side, the bed was very comfortable and I enjoyed soaking in the claw foot tub.

- Craig (8/5): - This property was a rehabilitated building from, apparently, the early 1900s. The best part was the authenticity of the restoration. In addition, the property was spacious and had two bedrooms, one with a king bed and the other with a queen bed. There was an accommodating living room, a nice sitting room, a Butler’s pantry, and an adequate kitchen area. The property contained no dining nearby, but had a usable kitchen. There was no off street parking. The area around the property was itself in need of rehabilitation. The area appears to be a bit rundown . All in all, we had a good sleep and enjoyed the historic nature of the property. We would recommend staying there if you want to stay at a well restored historic building.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Wonderful Stay. - My stay was comfortable. The Vineyard Mansion is beautiful, and I particularly enjoyed the warmth of having the family pets around. My only concern is with Hotels.com, which has failed to issue me a refund for the one day I reduced my reservation, and which makes it impossible to speak to anyone about it. This speaks poorly for Hotels.com and reflects poorly on my overall experience.

Fully stocked kitchen, to pool table and more...The on-site hosts are very nice. I had accidentally lock myself out of my room and "Bruce" was over right away to help me get back in my room and get my keys. This 5 room mansion (some rooms over 500 sq ft w/bathroom) will NOT disappoint!

- John (10/5): Our stay in historic St. Joseph - We really liked the carriage house, it was clean, quiet, well-stocked, and has lots of charm. It was like staying in a 2-bedroom apartment!
- Jill (10/5): - Was homey atmosphere. If you book the Crown Room the bathroom facilities are not in room so come prepared to walk down a small hallway. Advertised as pay at property...this means the property will take your payment . Expedia will not charge your card immediately but the property will.. overall had a nice visit and was a very comfortable stay. WI-FI Conection was not consisten. Luckily I was there for pleasure and not work.

- Robert (10/5): A B & B with flexible breakfast hrs. - I was looking for a quiet place to get an early nights sleep for an extra early start to my business day in the St Joeseph area. This was definately the perfect choice. Available snacks and a friendly host as well as a house cat helped make it feel like a home away frpm home. An interesting history and beautiful furnishings made it even better. After arriving only about 45 min before I hoped to call it a night, I was even able to get in a quick game of pool. Breakfast is at your own leisure anytime after 5 a.m. which was perfect for mey schedule. They do not, however cook you bteakfast, you are free to cook whatever you want from the frig.
- Pauline (8/5): Lovely Inn - We enjoyed this beautiful historic home. The only negative was the breakfast. We were allowed to make our own breakfast, but it felt weird using someone else's cookware and rummaging through a community fridge, so we opted to go to Perkins for breakfast. Maybe individual bottles of milk and juice would have been better, but I don't know that the guy before me didn't drink directly out of the jug of milk and put it back on the shelf! My husband worked in the restaurant biz for 50 years and couldn't imagine this would be acceptable to the health department. The room itself was very nice. No decent restaurants nearby that we could find. Neighborhood to the north was a little sketchy. We did enjoy the walking tour of historic homes in the neighborhood. We would definitely stay here again.

- Thomas (10/5): - This was a wonderful experience. I had returned to St. Joseph for a high school reunion and thoroughly enjoyed the Vineyard B&B - it is a gem. The DIY breakfast options were a brilliant idea.

- Cory (8/5): A Pleasant Surprise for our first Bed & Breakfast! - We loved our stay! We had never stayed at a Bed & Breakfast so this was a great first. For the cost we had lots of room, comfort, and a well stocked kitchen with a wide variety of choices to choose from. If we ever come back to St. Joe, I’d absolutely stay again. The only thing I could say was we didn’t have wash cloths. I’m sure I could have called and it would have been taken care of. We think that it would be amazing to get some couples from our circle of friends and rent it out for the weekend for ourselves. We stayed in the Emma Room. Thank you for the great stay!

- Joseph (8/5): Nice decor and clean. - Nice decor. We had 2 rocking chairs. One was broken the other not comfortable. The bed and seets were very nice. For me the stairs are forbidding a return trip. For most folks it is likely not an issue. Talked to another senior couple staying there. They enjoyed their experience.

- Brian (10/5): - This was our first experience with a B&B and this property did not disappoint. For a house that is over 130 years old it was very comfortable even the bed lines were luxurious. It was a hot weekend in St Joe and I had concerns about the A/C but the lower level of the house had central air and our room had a window unit that was more than adequate and even quiet. The modern kitchen and pantry were well stocked. This property has become our go to place to stay when visiting St Joe. We highly recommend it.....
- Chris (10/5): Great historic home - This bed and breakfast was amazing. We enjoyed the historic preservation of the house. The bed was very comfortable too! I was a little disappointed that we had to self serve our breakfast ( I look forward to the amazing breakfasts), however the kitchen was stocked with everything you needed ! They had snacks and even had cookie dough if you wanted to make cookies. We had a great experience. I would stay here again if we go this way again !!
