Guest Reviews
- Elivelton (8/5): Atendeu as minhas expectativas, a localização é fantástica. - Gostei da localização e da equipe de funcionários Não gostei do som alto até de madrugada
- Victor (10/5): - Funcionários muito bons e os donos também
Ótimo lugar
- Tomfitzgerald (9/5): - Nice atmosphere, clean & comfortable private room with clean shared bathrooms & helpful staff

- Luana (10/5): Staff was really nice and the location is perfect. - It’s in the best location it could be, right next to the main square.
The beds are comfortable and large, with plugs next to it.
The vibe and decoration is really nice. It can be very noisy at night. If it’s not from a party downstairs in the hostel, it will be from the rooftop bar near the square. I guess it’s a trade off for the place where it’s located.
- Celina (7/5): Good - The room was Clean, a nice Common area with sofa to hang out There was no Kitchen! Only watercooker and a fridge. Super dissapointed!
- Simone (8/5): Great stay! - Great location, helpful staff A bit loud at night
- Elizabeth (5/5): Don’t bother. You can get a great private room elsewhere for the same price - The bed was comfortable and big. There was a kettle. Location is good. The price agreed online through booking.com was irrelevant to the chap at check in. He said the rate was 80 regardless because apparently I get a better exchange rate with dollars. Actually I didn’t have any dollars to exchange and I’m at the end of my trip so I’m running on a budget and the fact they set the price is fine but that should be the price they advertise the room for it and not increase the price from 55 to 80 on arrival.
Facilities are awful. Cold showers, broken toilets, no hanging space in the showers to keep things dry and no changing space outside.
- Jokin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ido (4/5): Disappointing -
- Aviv (8/5): Very good - Great location, staff was nice and helpful, room was good. The place could be a bit more clean.
- Rafael (6/5): Pleasant -
- Sharon (7/5): Bathrooms not always very clean but still overall good value for money - Location is excellent. I was told that breakfast could be ordered from 8.00 am but no one showed up.
- Luna (8/5): Nice hostel - Great location and nice common areas, the breakfast guy have been a great friend for us. I don’t know if he was the boss or a employee, but a man was a bit too much with me, wich have made me uncomfortable ( I am 22 and he was way over 40/50 ), the rest of the staff was nice
- Jordana (1/5): Bad - Check in and contact limited
- Sharon (5/5): Facilities not great but probably overall reasonable value for money. - Location was excellent. Staff didn't tell me about loud music until after I had paid abd couldn't get my money back but it wasn't a problem. There were 9 beds in the room, but there were only 6 of us. I couldn't see how 3 mire people with big backpacks could fit. Bathroom nit very clean.
- Renna (9/5): Superb -
- Budyanee (1/5): Bad - Extremely dirty, the staff were rude and they charged way more than the parallel market rate in bolivianos. The lockers are far away from rooms and it’s very loud at night
- Henrysoy (6/5): Pleasant - Near to downtown and in the base a bar to drink Just one plug for 2 beds and no Water for bathroom
- Shih (1/5): unprensernt - location currency rate
- Annie (1/5): Dishonesty - in hostel Their exchange rate changes every day, so you have no idea how much the actual price is. Sometimes they charge 1:10 when they are happy, and sometimes they charge 1:7 in hostel Their exchange rate changes every day, so you have no idea how much the actual price is. Sometimes they charge 1:10 when they are happy, and sometimes they charge 1:7
- Robbie (9/5): Superb - Great location and most of the staff were friendly . Nothing.
- Deirdre (4/5): Avoid if you want the freedom to come and go - Great location The doors are locked from midnight to 8am and you cannot enter or leave. The staff did not make this clear to me at check in and when I tried to leave at 7am to catch a bus I couldn’t. Staff members refused to open the door even though they were in the building.
This practice is extremely dangerous incase of a fire or medical emergency.
- Conall (1/5): Medicore - Very little The price isn’t accurate on the website. They inflate it and make up their own exchange rates. I booked for $17 and had to pay nearly double.
- Amelia (7/5): Good -
- Simina (1/5): DO NOT BOOK HERE! THEY SCAM GUESTS!! - I had an awful experience with this hotel in Santa Cruz! The arrogant receptionists made me pay 30 USD more than the room price that I booked through Booking.com. I paid cash in Bolivianos and only did the Math later. When I asked why they brought a lousy excuse, it would be due to the higher "exchange rate". This is the first time I encountered this at an accommodation in Bolivia. I read other reviews only after this incident and it is clearly a scam of this place and sharlatans! They shouldn't be allowed to list their lousy, rundown hotel on Booking.com. They do not offer any comfort whatsoever! The place is in desperate need of renovation. Do yourself a favour and book elsewhere.
- Tolga (10/5): Exceptional - Very good location and friendly stuff. Sometimes it's a bit noisy but didn't bother me much.
- Eirini (8/5): Very good -
- George (5/5): The hostel is in a great location, right next to main square. The rooms are air conditioned and beds are comfortable. Ho - Fantastic location Inflated room rate when paying
Loud music all night
Rude greeting on arrival
- Susan (4/5): Disappointing - Good central location This was one of the worst hostels I have stayed in.Constant loud music from midday to 3 am (lots of outside guests)Disinterested staff who gave me incorrect directions on where to catch bus(had to walk another 30 mins)No kitchen Toilets not flushing
Not recommended
- Touko (4/5): Disappointing - Location is very central and close to the plaza. The pictures of the hostel do not reflect the actual facilities. The dorms, showers and toilets are not particularly clean. There are too many beds in each dorm. The a/c in the dorm might work or not. Lockers for travellers’ backpacks are too small and people need to store their backpacks in dorms which takes all the spare room. The staff wasn’t particularly friendly or helpful, at least if you don’t speak fluent Spanish.
Be aware that you need to pay your stay at the hostel and the hostel uses its own exchange rate (USD/Bs) which is significantly over the market rate. For us they charged 10 bolivianos for one USD (market rate was ~6.7 bolivianos).
- Mat (8/5): Very good - Nice Lacks a washing machine for the guests with a fair price
- Jeffrey (6/5): Pleasant - Good location near places of interest. The beds were bigger than the usual dorm beds. They didn’t have blankets. You are given a thin bedsheet as a blanket which should be fine most of the year but doesn’t work during the cold season. IMPORTANT: The hostel charges more than the booking price citing some conversion change even if you are paying local currency. This should not be allowed.
- Simpelvel (8/5): Very good - Nice hostel very close to the centro. Room in ok,bed big. You can buy nice breakfast.
I could check in very early. I would book again. Nothing too much complain about
- Alberto (6/5): Pleasant - This hostel is very well located in the very centre of the city, so you are close to a lot of attractions. It has a nice vibe, for it has a lot of common areas and has a bar inside where you can have some drinks. The place is extremely noisy, specially at nights, when the staff organises activities (which are not free). Also, it is not so clean, specially the rooms and common toilets. The check-in experience was not-so-friendly for me. Maybe the guy has having a rough day.
- Fabien (5/5): Passable -
- Shota (7/5): Good -
- Haixia (2/5): One of the worst hostel in Bolivia - Location Just a party hostel with bad service.
1. They just offer a bed without blanket ( just a thin small table cloth)
2. Arrived at 6am but they didn’t open utill 8am and didn’t allow me to check in before 2pm even they have free bed available. pay for early check in is not accepted.
3. Dishonest receptionist. Walk in is 58bs per night , but booked from booking need pay 72bs( 1 usd =9bs according to black market price)
4. Guests are not allowed to use the kitchen
- Erol (9/5): Superb -
- Licenne (9/5): Superb -
- Francois (7/5): Good -
- Andres (7/5): Good -
- David (8/5): Good central location but noisy. - Great location and good facilities. Early bag drop very helpful. Noisy from local bars until late evening. Some confusion over payment, and seemed to be an additional charge above Booking.com rates.
- Qinghua (8/5): Very good -
- Shah (9/5): Superb -
- Moons64 (10/5): Exceptional -
- Telej (3/5): Dirty - I have never seen toilets THAT dirty. It was scandalous
- Bondy (3/5): Poor -
- Shah (9/5): Staff are very helpful. I met also Nicolas . He takes extra miles to help the guest . - Very good location Everything is walking distance
- Lawrence (9/5): Superb -
- Roni (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rebecca (8/5): Very good -
- Ziva (8/5): Very good - Very good location, the staff were super nice. Was super hot and they only let you use the AC at night, not during the day.
- Herbison (9/5): Superb - The staff were all really lovely. They were great with giving recommendations. There’s a friendly cat. The rooms had really big beds and air conditioning
- Ziva (8/5): Very good - Perfect location, literally 1 min from the main square. And hot water in the shower :) too bad there was no kitchen to use..
- Craig (8/5): Very good -
- Richard (8/5): Very good -
- Vanessa (8/5): Fine for quick stay - Central. Reasonable place and price for a night. Very personable reception / barman. Old building that’s showing its age. Many of the lockers are broken so you can’t lock up valuables.
- Lina (10/5): Awesome night 🌙 nice beds and place to rest - The bed was big, comfy and it has what you need close to your bed Cortains in the Bunk beds will be amazing
- Mariana (10/5): Highly Recommend - Location. The environment is very pleasant, they have a nice bar, very cool to gather with other people. Room and toillet/showers are clean. Friendly staff Air con only from 7pm to 6am
- Ahmad (6/5): Clean and central but old no fan and kitchen - The hostel was clean and central Very old, kitchen equipment old. Común place was really old no Fan 38 grad. In the night no body and no key
- Aleš (10/5): Exceptional - Helpful personnel, comfortable beds, air conditioning
- Yuliya (7/5): Good - The location is very good, it's right in the center of the city It opens at 8, so if you come at 6 a.m. like us there is no way to get in. It was a bit expensive for the conditions but generally ok
- Jennifer (8/5): Good location and value. However note that Check in hours are limited, and there is a possibility of no towels being av - Good location Check in hours limited, no towel was available
- Annika (10/5): Exceptional - Had everything you need and a nice cathedral view, AC in dorms
- Maxsander (5/5): very weak hostel - It's a hostel close to the main square This is another hostel that prioritizes the bar with parties to attract the attention of customers, the place is very hot during the day, the air conditioning is only turned on at night, and they don't offer you a fan during the day, it becomes unbearable to stay on site, there is no breakfast, and the things are all old and moldy, I stayed on a horrible mattress, I don't recommend this hostel
- Rosa (1/5): They stolen money from uns - Centrally located We were robbed in the hostel, all our cash was stolen from my friend and me. The staff were not cooperative at all and asked us to suggest solutions, which for me as a guest and victim should not be my job,
De in the slightest! We found out that another guest's mobile phone had also been stolen! I can't recommend it to anyone, you can't even lock your things away.
- Chiara (10/5): Exceptional -
- Frank (6/5): Pleasant - Cost and location couldn't get any better. Cleaner does a really good job considering the age of the facilities. Springs coming through the mattress, broken chairs, cat smell. Great old building but could do with a good makeover.
- Steffen (8/5): just perfect!;) - Awesome location, great staff, top management!;)
- Patrick (8/5): Very good -
- Eugenio (10/5): Exceptional -
- Des (3/5): Best location and value for money we found BUT REQUEST THE KEY BEFORE GOING OUT AT NIGHT. The staff have no sympathy whe - Fantastic location right at the main plaza. Very good value for money. Beds are big and comfortable with automated air conditioning each night. Some staff are friendly. The hostel is locked at midnight until about 8am. If you want to stay out after midnight you need to request a key before you leave the hostel. They write this on their rules at reception but do not mention this during check in or at any point of our stay. It is also not mentioned on booking dot com. If you do not ask for the key or know to ask then you will be locked out after midnight and there is no help or alternative. On our last night coming back from some drinks we had to sleep on the street. To make things worse the staff replied the next day to our pleas on WhatsApp of that night and were very rude and combative, unprofessional, zero sympathy that we were stranded in the middle of the night Santa Cruz. A piece of information about the key is so important that it absolutely must be mentioned to the guests at check in or at any time they request bar or club recommendations. It should not be left to chance. Very disappointed at some of the staff in relation to this and how they relied to us.
- Martino (8/5): Very good - Great travellers, great staff
Close to cathedral. Ac too cold directly over one bed.
Quite some mosquitoes,
- Adrien (10/5): Exceptional - The property is quite nice. Maintained properly on the Bolivian level. Hot water and cold water shower. Ok clean. Good wify (above and on the ground floor) and comfy seats with plugs near them. Moreover, they keep your bags at the counter (or behind), with staff all the time, so it felt secure (for me).
All in all, great experience : ). The window of one of the showers was a bit too see through for me.
- Tobias (3/5): Poor - Loud place, do not go there when you want to get some rest at night
Bed sheets dirty
- Thomas (9/5): Superb - Great people, very inclusive and easy to connect to be people. Great place! Basic facilities but nice to spend a couple of nights.
- Daniel (5/5): Passable -
- Tobias (9/5): Superb - wide beds, chill patio, cool personel lounge could be fresher
- Gian (9/5): Superb - Really nice and helpful staff with good recommendations for our stay and the future trip.
- Toni (10/5): Exceptional - Location is excellent as well as the view.
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional - The hostel was the best bit of santa cruz for me. I really enjoyed my stay here
- Julian9111 (9/5): Superb -
- Peter (8/5): Great hostel but wouldn't venture outside. - Very friendly hostel with great staff and cats wandering around. Santa Cruz isn't a tourist destination and doesn't feel safe outside the hostel / main square. There's very limited things to see in the city.
- Steinbach (8/5): Very good - Comfortable beds good location and good staff.
- Oke (8/5): Very good -
- Herceg (9/5): Superb - The staff was great. Very polite and with a great positive energy, Always helpful. The only thing that I did not was that there was no breakfast included in the price.
- Nat (8/5): Very good - Massive beds, super comfy. Social atmosphere. Nice showers. Could do with a kitchen. Bar was expensive.
- Maks (10/5): Exceptional -

- John (10/5): Exceptional -
- Valentin (7/5): Good -
- Andrés (9/5): Superb -
- Felix (7/5): Good -
- Julia (7/5): Good - Location, staff, great dinner to buy from them (cafe) No kitchen available (only fridge), many beds within a tiny room (3 layers), bathroom doors difficult or not able to be locked, showers quite cold
- Keeva (9/5): Superb - Comfy couch downstairs, haven't had a couch in ages! Perfect location.
- Maks (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cameron (9/5): Superb - Had to leave very early in the morning to get to the airport. Staff were more than helpful in providing me a way to get open despite the doors being locked. Great central locational as well
