- Josh (10/5): - Great location, cosy cottage, nice garden, very clean, really fair price N/A we really enjoyed our stay
- Elizabeth (8/5): Pretty cottage with rustic feel - The cottage is located in a small village and great location for visiting nearby sites. Lovely spot with pretty decor and comfortable layout. The bedrooms and bathrooms were very clean and comfortable. The fireplace was perfect for cosy evenings and the cottage gives you a lovely relaxing calm feeling. Very good communication with the owners who are kind and responsive. Would have stayed longer! Could be improved with better cleaning and upkeep. Some of the upholstered furniture and the main floor carpets need cleaning, as well as some kitchen appliances and dishes which I needed to clean before use. Would have been nice to have the outdoors furniture cleaned and set up since, even though still March, the weather on the weekend was beautiful and ideal for sitting outside.

- Michael (9/5): Beautiful cottage, perfectly placed. - Perfectly located to explore Northumberland. Cottage packed with all essentials and set up well for a family. Very versatile layout for anybody to find suitable. Not much! A Smart TV would add an extra touch to enhance evenings in front of the fire, but that's more of an improvement not a negative.
- Nicola (10/5): Exceptional -
- Debra (10/5): Hope to visit soon. - Cottage beautiful and in a wonderful location. Northumberland is a lovely place with beautiful scenery and views.
- Fiona (10/5): Wonderful cottage away from the tourist places - Wonderful location easy to get to all the main tourist areas
Lovely garden and great pub down the road
Been coming for 5 years really enjoy the quiet and away from tourist spots
- Maureen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brian (9/5): Great cottage. - Self catering property not bed and breakfast so the wifes breakfssts were good. Location was ideal for us as we know Chatton well. We experienced a very cold week with biting winds and it took some time to get the property warm. The log fire was brilliant and the facilties and comfy bed made it a pleasurable stay.
- Euan (10/5): 10th Wedding Anniversary - The cottage was very clean, tastefully decorated and very comfortable. Situated in a very tidy and picturesque village. Chatton has an excellent hotel that serves high quality food. It also has a nice village shop selling any essentials you require. During our holiday we visited Wooler, Lindas Farne, Bamburgh and Alnwick.
We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights away. Not a complaint but did expect to find a welcome pack when we arrived like a lot of places do, but there was nothing. No sugar, salt, oil, coffee or tea. Even the fairy liquid was only enough for one lot of dishes, luckily there was a good dishwasher.
- Jan (10/5): Fantastic, we will definitely be back to stay. - Everything, we couldn’t fault a thing N/A
- Tracey (9/5): Superb -
- Alison (10/5): Exceptional - It is a very quaint & cosy Cottage.Beautifully decorated & is in a lovely village with a good Pub .The countryside is idyllic with easy access to many Historic places to visit.Everything you could possibly need was provided for even our 'Welcoming Suprise 'to start r stay off such a lvly gesture by r hosts . With the age of the Cottage in two places u did need to be careful with footing due to floor levels.
- Doreen (9/5): Superb -
- Merry (10/5): Beautifully presented cottage with hidden garden - This is a charming, beautifully renovated and extended cottage in a peaceful, pretty little village.
We had everything we needed for our four night stay. The open plan kitchen is very well-equipped; even washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets were provided.
The beds are comfortable with crisp cotton bedding.Downstairs, there is a large double bedroom with a large shower room. Upstairs, there are two single bedroms with a small bathroom. The upstairs and downstairs are well separated, and there's little to no noise transference between the two, which increases the feeling of calm.
Everything is immaculately presented.
The bottle of red wine and chocolate cookies awaiting us was a nice welcome!
We loved the garden set high above the cottage. It felt like a secret find!
You definitely need a car to explore this part of Northumberland with so many historically significant and picturesque places within easy reaching distance such as the Holy Island of Lindisfarne and Bamburg with its castle and St Aiden's church.
I would definitely recommend a stay at Chatton Cottage and we would return. There was nothing to dislike.
Tall adults might find upstairs a bit low ceilinged in places. My husband is 5ft 9 and found it okay.
- Lyndsey (10/5): Exceptional -
- Davina (9/5): Really enjoyed our stay. - Location was perfect. Beautifully presented. Garden area peaceful. Facilities great. It was comfortable clean and gorgeous. We had to buy some salt and pepper as weren’t provided. Roof in the attic was tricky for tall people.

Quiet, with easy parking right outside cottage Nothing of great note. My wife can have issues with scents, uses a puffer, and there was a mild issue with possibly the fabric conditioner for the bed linen. This was a mild personal issue I was not affected.

It is a beautiful little cottage, with heaps of space, very comfortable and fantastically clean. It is a good base to discover Alnwick, Chillingham and Bamburg castles, all are wotrth seeing.
Bonus is the two minute walk to the local pub, which is excellent. Everything was perfect.
