The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was excellent....two blocks to the Town Square, 1/2 mile from the Ole Miss campus. We didn't use the car while we were there.

Staff was extremely friendly and courteous. The rooms were clean and very nice. Loved the glass bottled water you could reuse. Two restaurants on site with one being the speakeasy leads to options and fun late night cocktails.

Room was spacious and the marble bath is equal to staying in a luxury hotel. Enjoyed being able to open the french doors in the room (a Juliet balcony) Speakeasy bar off the lobby serves great drinks. This was my third stay here and it won't be my last...

The hotel is first class, beautiful and located conveniently close to the Square and Ole Miss. Heads and shoulders above the chain hotels, the Oliver has old world charm and southern hospitality. It reminded me of the Greenbrier in West Virginia. If our daughter decides to go to Ole Miss we will be back!

Hotel should buy a shower caddy. Shower water pressure low, but everything else was fantastic and more than made up for this.

• 78gerrim (10/5): Perfect stay in Oxford Mississippi - We went to an open house at Ole Miss the weekend of October 4th. We stayed at the Oliver and we were beyond happy with it! It’s a beautiful hotel located in the heart of downtown Oxford. It is an extremely short walk to lots of beautiful shops and fantastic restaurants! The Oliver is perfectly situated, clean and so welcoming. We did not eat in the restaurant however we did go to the speakeasy for some drinks. We loved the space and the drinks were fabulous! The rooms at the hotel are beautiful. The beds are extremely comfortable, and the bathrooms are spacious and appointed with everything you need for a good stay. They have water stations on each floor by the elevators. You can get yourself a cup of water at any time, a bag of ice, and they even have glass water bottles in the rooms that you can fill so you don’t need to bring any plastic bottles of water with you. They also have a coffee station in the lobby by the elevators. We drove to Ole Miss for the open house. They did said it’s about a 15 minute walk from the hotel to Ole Miss. We would definitely stay again!!

And parking is at the facility (in the basement) so no problem leaving the car and wandering around a beautiful town. Literally nothing, which is very unusual for us. We normally have at least one small thing that we'd like to be better. The Oliver exceeded our expectations without exception. Highest recommendation.

• 192tatumw (10/5): Clean and Fancy - My husband and I decided to stay here for our anniversary. We live in Oxford, but wanted to be a part of the nightlife and take a small stay-cation! The boutique style of the hotel is very nice. Our room was very clean and had everything we needed. I especially loved the still and sparkling water on tap in the hallway, plus the ceramic mugs with Keurig coffee in the room. Very elevated experience!! Of course, don’t forget about the gourmet restaurant downstairs and the speakeasy-style bar. It’s also walking distance to all of the other great places on the square. I would definitely go back, even though I live within the city.

We repeatedly (nicely) asked for some type of compensation for the first night since it was miserably hot (and an expensive stay) they were rude and did nothing for us. The day manager acted like we made it up even though the staff confirmed the room did not cool.

• robbinsr2025 (2/5): Disappointment….bring back the Chancellors House - Since it changed hands from the Chancellors House to the Oliver, it is AWFUL!!!!! Worst hotel experience/customer serviceI have ever witnessed. We were there for a wedding and booked this hotel for the bar and “speak easy.” They sent the staff home early due to weather even though every single bar in the city remained open. I personally called 5 different hotels and the Velvet Ditch bar across the street. The response was the same everywhere I called. Nobody in the entire city of Oxford shut down except this place. I requested a refund and to check out of my room since the amenities were not granted. I will never stay here again. Anybody coming for a weekend to Oxford….DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!

• Rita (5/5): Given the price, the lack of common amenities was disappointing. - It is in a great location and it was very clean. There is a charge for parking of $25 a night which is not explained when you book the room. No charging USB port, there was no table on one side of the bed or any additional outlets to plug-in electronics, other than one outlet by the coffee maker and one outlet in the bathroom. This is a university town and most people that come to a university town have many electronics that they need to plug-in and charge. In addition, we have Hearing Aids that we need to charge at night. So this was very annoying that there were no place where we could charge more than two or three items. There was also very little counter space in the bathroom so even if we wanted to put more charging items there, there would be no place to put anything. The desk clerk was very nice and she brought us up one USB adapter that we could plug in which was actually very kind of her, but it was laughable. Last , The shower did not have a place to set anything in it as one would normally expect to find a small shelf in the shower.

The beds are so comfortable, and the bathrooms are elegant. I love that you can refill water bottles at a station outside of the elevators.
