• Markus (6/5): - Oberhalb und am Rande von Coimbra gelegen, war es für uns als Pilger ein gutes Stück vom Caminho bis zur Unterkunft. Bergab ist man in 20 Gehminuten in der Altstadt - bergauf deutlich länger. Bushaltestellen in der Nähe der Unterkunft. Liebevoll eingerichtet, gibt es direkten Kontakt zu den Gastgebern. Die 3 Zimmer sind relativ hellhörig, nur ein Gemeinschaftsbad incl. WC. Frühstück nett angerichtet, aber sehr überschaubar! Frühstück in der Regel erst ab 9 Uhr, wir bekamen auf Bitten hin schon etwas ab 8 Uhr - unpraktisch, wenn man früh aufbrechen möchte.

One can see that the host goes to great length of making your stay as pleasant as possible. We also learnt a lot about Bonsai plants as Antonio is an expert in this area. It is a place worthwhile staying.

A bit of a hill walk to centre if you don’t have a car. However bus stops right outside property. Personally we prefer white cotton sheets & towels rather than floral sheets & coloured towels.

The house is beautifuly restored, our room was bigger then expected, the bathroom just nextdoor... Beautiful plants everywhere and a garden one can only dream of :-) Breakfast was excellent and plenty of all! A bus stop is in front of the house and gets you downtown in couple of minutes. What can anyone want more?

• Mike (8/5): Gardener's paradise - It was not easy to find from the street, but worth looking for. Antonio is a great host and an exceptional gardener. Our room under the attic (lots of steps) was spacious and clean. For our private bathroom we had to cross the landing,which was no problem as there are no other units upstairs.Public transport was just outside the main door and took you to the centre of the city in no time. Antonio's private garden and his quince jelly alone would be worth to stay there.

Antonio mantiene un jardín lleno de bonsais que él mismo cultiva. El desayuno es espectacular con pan y mermeladas caseras y buen café. El ambiente es agradable y Antonio te hace sentir como en tu propia casa. Lo puedo recomendar.
• Natalie (8/5): - Antonio makes you feel very comfortable, makes a delicious breakfast,and provides helpful advice. He has a lovely and comfortable place full of beautiful plants/bonsai and he provides parking. My only issues were that if you are coming at the hottest time of the year, like in August, and you have a problem with heat, Casa Coimbra does not have A/C. Also, if you have joint problems or heavy luggage, be aware that there are many steps into the house. But overall, it is a nice place to stay.

The Guesthouse is simply awesome, we have been welcomed into a great green place with each and every minimum detail is well cured. The host is extremely passionate and transmits it all in everything he says and does in the house. FANTASTIC!

• Jane (8/5): - Everything about Casa Coimbra was excellent, except the lack of aircon, or at least a fan. The temperatures were extreme during our stay but due to no aircon we were unable to be in our room duiring the day and at night it was very uncomfortable making sleep virtually impossible. The fact that our room was on the sunny side, and on the top level of the house made the situation worse Such a pity as it was a lovely room with generous, considerate host.

• Verified traveler (6/5): - 小さい子供も含めて家族で宿泊。良かった点は対応してくれた主人がとても親切だったことと、自家製のパンやマフィンを始めとした朝食がとても美味しかったこと。微妙な点は入口が非常に分かりづらいことと、車を停める場所が分かり辛いこと(ホテル前のロータリー部分はどこに停めても無料らしい)、部屋とトイレ、シャワーが別室(共用)だったこと。階段が多いので腕白な子連れだと結構大変だが、普通なら満足できる良い宿と思う。

• Judy (10/5): Lovely room in quiet neighborhood - The casa is beautiful with incredible attention to detail in the way it was renovated. The garden is spectacular and even the bathrooms have a rock and plant garden. Breakfast included excellent, strong coffee, eggs and muffins. Great way to start the day. It’s a little out of town but quiet with a great view of the sunset.
• Arthur (10/5): - A superb stay. Antonio is an attentive, conscientious host who even drove me to the train station so I wouldn’t miss my train. Beyond the call. The breakfast was also a real treat. FYI, if you’re arriving by train or bus, arrange your transport to Casa Coimbra beforehand (the 4 and 103 bus stop in front of the property), as Casa’s not within walking distance and flagging down a taxi can take a while.

• Christine A (8/5): Charming guest house in quite location - First appearances were deceptive, once inside this is a charming guest house, the front area needs a bit of smartening up, it consists of rather dramatic steps up, it could look spectacular. Our host Antonio was very attentive and a most interesting man. The room was lovely, breakfast great and it was easy to park out front. We had use of a shared bathroom which was very well appointed, but we will still choose en suite whenever we can. I would recommend this guest house to my friends.

• C & C (10/5): Fantastic hotel at Coimbra - We were very well received. It is a beautiful place to stay with a wonderful garden at the back. The bedroom was big with a view of the City. It is located few minutes walk to the University of Coimbra. If you prefer a bus stop is very close. We took a taxi to the train station. We recommend!!
• Ben (10/5): Feels like home - We had planned to stay only one night in Coimbra and we still regret we couldn't stay longer. That's because Casa Coimbra Guesthouse and Gardens was so nice and welcoming. Beautiful, comfortable, clean - all you might need from a b&b. Moreover, Antonio made us feel at home from the very moment we met. The name of the place is a little bit long, but it is quite descriptive of the place. Antonio's bonzai garden is an attraction in itself. And the view from our room was spectacular, especially the sunset.
