- Q2597MIsandym (10/5): Family fun - We had a wonderful stay at AutoCamp Guerneville! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived. Our Airstream was comfortable, cute, and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The location is perfect—close to town and easy to get to nearby spots. There were lots of families with kids, which made it feel welcoming and lively. One of the highlights of our trip was making s’mores by the fire under the stars—it made for such a fun and cozy evening. We’d definitely come back again!
- RafaellaM4 (2/5): Worst experience. An broken windows that could have hurt my family in an accident , was fully charged to our account - We had the worst experience . In the morning of check out. As our daughter opened the bathroom window , it just broke into small pieces . Luckily, the glass flew to the outside and she was not hurt . It was an accident , as the window was suppose to open , and for some malfunction, it broke the glass . We let the staff know , but instead of having anyone attend to check if anyone got hurt, we just got a message during check out of a 350usd charge for the broken window . As we asked to speak to the general manager , named Todd, he said he was not available and that we have to pay the charge in order to check out . While on vacation and with pre booked tours for the morning , we said we coulf not wait . And yet , he never showed up to talk to us, and wouldn’t even respond the texts the employer on the front desk was sending him. After an accident , the least the hotel could do was to speak to us. But no one even bothered , and just charged out credit card on file . Such a shame the way guests are treated here . It was our second time in an auto camp , the first one in Joshua Tree was amasing. But the was in Sonoma should rethink its approach towards guests. An accident this could have hurts the guests was ignored and treated only as the loss of a broken glass charged without any discussion.
- Charlene (8/5): Relaxing and lively hiking trails close by - We got into town early and showed up about an hour before check in time. They were accommodating and got us to our trailer within 15 mins of arrival and also had lovely warm cider to enjoy by the fire while they finished preparing our trailer Some mold spotted in the trailer and the sunroof above the bed dropped a few sprinkles of water from condensation in the morning
- Bernard (10/5): I'll be back - Great Staff. Beautiful property and love the Airstream setup. Which you will have a pool
- Kelly (10/5): -
- Lawrence (3/5): Not happy - Secluded There’s stains on the sofa and the bedding. After telling the staff, the front desk said she’s going to send someone to change the bedding. When we came back, we only saw bedsheets left on our table in the autocamp. For the price we paid for two nights, this is unacceptable.
- Ballesteros (1/5): Many poor things - Bed and location Breakfast is a joke. Receptionist was rude and unprofessional. Check innis not until 4pm and checkput 10am, and they dont allow exceptions. Hot water is little for showering.
- itsnickirae (10/5): ✨Wood✨ Visit - AutoCamp Sonoma (Russian River) is a can't miss. It's beautifully tucked in surrounded by redwood tree and not too far from Johnson's Beach and downtown Guerneville. Great location. Plus it's in a gated area and feel extremely safe.
The customer service here is fantastic. I was privileged by checking in with Laurel. Very kind and detailed in explaining how things work at AutoCamp. Most of all was great to my dog that I was traveling with. Maybe it's the millennial in me but showing love and attention to my dog means so much to me. I was gifted a glass of wine for my birthday (when this visit was) and ended up chatting with her while in the club house. It really made my trip even better. Absolutely love that indoor fireplace on rainy days, which it was. Jill was so kind when we went and got coffee in the morning too. The staff is really fantastic.
I was staying in the premium airstream #9. This location was the absolute best. It was on the end so there was no visible neighbor when I had the door open and just the view of all the greenery and trees. With it being the premium airstream, it gave me more personal outside space. But that location felt like so much space. It was lightly raining the next morning so just watching the rain and the birds chirping and flying around was so peaceful.
It's a perfect place to visit with your dog. The airstream is spacious enough for 2 people and a dog. We were definitely cozy.
I'll definitely be back to this location since I'm only about an hour away. This is my second AutoCamp location and will be visiting more. It's more like a resort with nature and the perfect balance of both for me.
- kellylF9000RZ (10/5): ♥️♥️😍😍 - The airstreams are very good
The bedrooms are good too They’re just so good. Just very good.♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
- so249 (2/5): Stay was great until had to deal with Todd Craig, their General Manager - Our pleasant trip soured very quickly when dealing with Todd Craig, the property general manager. About two hours after checkout, I received an email from Todd that we would be charged over $1,400 to replace the futon sofa - because our toddler had scribbled a few pen circles on it. We immediately took responsibility for our child's action, but explained the amount was excessive and unreasonable - it's like being billed for a new car because your kid drew on the seat when it could easily be cleaned.
Aside from the attitude and demeanor from Todd through a lot of back and forth (e.g. literally said "you admitted to your child damaging the property so you are responsible for replacing it."), it was his response in another review not being truthful about the situation that really left a terrible impression about AutoCamp. My wife had to explain basic cleaning tips that would remove the markings. He then asked us to send a video as proof it would work, which she was willing to do. Fortunately, his team were able to use our tips to clean the futon. We get it. If there's damage, the family should pay. But cleaning should be the first option. And most importantly, do not lie and deny what it took to resolve the situation (the customer having to explain how to clean markings).
To be clear, the front desk staff, groundskeepers, and other team members were all kind, accommodating, and showed great customer service. Unfortunately, that professionalism stopped at management.
Sadly, this experience ensured that we will never return to AutoCamp. A simple issue could have been resolved with understanding and fairness—but instead, it became a lesson in how poor management can overshadow an otherwise pleasant stay.
Bye, AutoCamp.
- SBallCT (10/5): Autocamp - Beautiful setting! Nicely laid out campus. Fun Airstream experience, nicely equipped. Store well-stocked. Nice staff. VERY Expensive!!!
- SJscrapbooker (8/5): Our test of Airstream trailer and AutoCamp - We enjoyed our stay in the custom Airstream trailers (classic). It was a quiet setting amongst trees. I was surprised at how small the property actually is. The trailers were pretty close together but because it was the off-season and most children are in school, it was very quiet. We had space #24, which is further from the communal areas and the clubhouse - I would recommend that space. You park your vehicle in a general parking area and use wagons that are provided to haul your personal stuff to your campsite. We did not hear any dogs barking but we did see one dog off leash on the property (against the rules) and no staff said anything to the owner of the dog. There are overhead heaters in the breakfast/coffee area, so you can warm up in the morning or you can sit by the fireplace in the clubhouse. There is a small store that is well stocked with essentials if needed, as well as some AutoCamp merchandise. Safeway is conveniently located 10 minutes from Autocamp. There is no cooktop or oven in the trailer so you can microwave, eat a cold meal or cook over the fire ring outside the trailer. An alternative is the many places you can eat in Guerneville or a little further out. We did visit Armstrong State Redwoods Preserve, which is a beautiful park with old growth redwoods and accessible trails, which is about 10 minutes from AutoCamp. We also drove a short distance to the coast at Jenner and observed the beach, surf and birds. The fan unit in the trailer is extremely loud, even on low. It was quite hot while we were there, so you had to have the air conditioner running. I recommend ear plugs, which is the only way I managed to sleep. Otherwise, the bed and sheets are very comfortable, the towels are substantial and the bathroom is large compared to a typical travel trailer. We did not use the couch/futon for sleeping so I don't have an opinion on the comfort. There are lawn games available as well as board games and cards in the clubhouse. You can pay more for trailers that are located on a creek (completely dry) and are said to be spaced further apart so more private, but it was hard to tell that there was more space on those sights and I would hardly call it private by any measure. Another option is a canvas tent on the "meadow" but I would be concerned about the noise of other guests/dogs. We were able to get a late-checkout so we didn't have to rush in the morning of our departure. We would return under the same circumstances.
- TisaGillis (4/5): Not as advertised. Definitely not "Where boutique hotel meets nature escape" - I was really looking forward to this 3-night "touch grass" break. I've been a camper since a young age, but I'm also no stranger to traveling alone and treating myself to a bougie resort spa. This was neither a resort nor a serene spot to commune with nature. Based on the description, I was expecting a very nicely appointed airstream in a quiet, restful location away from civilization.
The unit was pretty barebones in a closely packed pod of about a dozen other trailers. The full kitchenette amounted to a minifridge and a tiny microwave that could accommodate a frozen dinner. Not sure what the cast-iron pan was for. Maybe for use on the outside grill? Unclear. The "airy sitting room" was a stifling oven as it was 90 deg outside and required the air conditioner to be running nonstop at a deafening roar. No water pressure in the shower. I made the mistake of washing my hair, and it took forever under the trickle to get the shampoo rinsed out. While this was intended as a chill-out mini vacation, sometimes you need to stay in touch. The free wireless was sketchy at best (clocked at 18.30 mbps and 174 ping). Unfortunately, it's a Verizon deadzone (0-1 bars most of the time) so hotspot is not an option. Had to drive a couple miles down the road to the Safeway parking lot. Definitely not "Your refuge in the redwoods" as headlined on the webpage. The site is just outside of town directly on the road in a dense residential neighborhood. At least there was a privacy fence separating it from the main road.
The gourmet food was free coffee and granola in the morning. A self-serve bowl of fresh fruit was also provided on the first day, but on the second day, I didn't get there until about 8:15, so it was gone. The morning of the third day I decided that life is too short and there are better things to do. They would not refund the third night, but offered to remove the $35 amenity fee. Would have been nice to remove it for the other 2 days as well...for one, I'm not into cornhole. So basically I'm out $1460 for 2 nights. I left on a Tuesday morning, but had to email them on Thursday to get a copy of the receipt as they didn't give me one when I checked out. Would have been better off in a Holiday Inn Express with a few trees in the parking lot. At least they have bigger microwaves and free stale bagels for breakfast. Could really have spent that money on something else.
2-star rather than 1-star because the bed was comfortable and parking was free.
If this is what you're into, that's fine. You do you. However, I am providing a description I wish I had before shelling out that much money and wasting my time off. You can do better.
- Itzel (10/5): - Everything was perfect
- Kristina (10/5): - Had the best stay here - great location, vibe and staff! The front desk was super knowledgeable about the area and had great suggestions that made our trip so special!
- boogiester (2/5): Horrible experience: Todd Craig general manager - We had a wonderful stay at AutoCamp until the very end—when it was ruined by the general manager, Todd Craig. My 4-year-old scribbled pen marks on the futon. As a mother, I do everything in my power to keep an eye on him, but sometimes even in the blink of an eye, toddlers do toddler things. I am genuinely sorry. Todd Craig sent an email to my husband saying we owed $1,443 because with “several cleaning / extraction procedures taken, (they) were not able to remove the marks on the Futon.”
I called Todd Craig and first apologized over and over. He literally responded to me saying that “Well you admitted to your child damaging the property so you are responsible for replacing the futon.” Literally that’s what he said. I told Todd, yes I take accountability but to charge $1,443 to replace the entire futon is unjustified. He said because there are no futon covers (which is the managements decision) we are responsible to pay for a brand new one. I researched and proved isopropyl alcohol removes such marks. He actually had me SEND HIM INSTRUCTIONS so his staff could clean their own furniture—then called back saying “We were able to get the stain removed from the futon using the isopropyl alcohol…I’m glad we tried that, so we’re all set now and you have no further things on your part you need to take care of.”
The fact that I, the guest, had to solve this problem for them was beyond unprofessional. Beautiful property, but the way Todd Craig handled this was so off-putting and so unprofessional, it left a terrible final impression.
- Mae (10/5): - Loved our stay! We stayed in the airstream and
- ColinO123 (10/5): Glamping in an Airstream in the Russian River Valley...woohoo! - We booked an Airstream Suite at AutoCamp Russian River for a 1 night stay via the Hilton app. We were particularly curious about the iconic Airstream trailers in a glamping arrangement. We hadn’t been to the Guerneville area for more than 15 years. We haven’t been camping in about 10 years. What a great way to catch up on both.
HURRAY! HURRAY!
- The Airstream trailer impressed at first sight.
- The bed was amazingly comfortable. Casper pillows. I think the mattress and mattress (both cushiony soft) were also Casper; perhaps the duvet as well. 60% cotton 40% polyester bedding from A Simple Better Sheet.
- Complimentary WiFi was speedy with SpeedTest results of 41.8 Mbps Download/15.0 Mbps Upload. Connectivity was strong inside the trailer as well as in the private outdoor space.
- The LOCATION near Guerneville, the river and the coast was great.
IMPRESSIVE
- “Private” outside area next to trailer with campfire ring, adirondack chairs, side table and patio dining table with umbrella. Ours was truly private because the next unit (a tent) was not occupied.
- The kitchenette was compact yet had enough surface space for food prep.
- The bathroom was also compact yet arranged well so it didn’t feel cramped. Luxury-level AutoCamp-branded shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion and hand wash, pleasant scent and paraben-free. Hotel-quality 100% cotton bath towels, hand towels, wash cloths and bath mat.
- Hot water arrived to shower in around 15 seconds. Water pressure was low, but adequate.
- Clean mini-fridge and microwave oven.
- One of the cabinets in the kitchenette area had a folding tv tray table and several clothes hangers.
- Also appreciate the Blackout Buddy emergency light/night light.
- Excellent lighting inside and outside. The trailer number was well-lit and path lighting made it easy to walk around at night. Bright bedside lighting with easy-to-reach switches. The bathroom entry had a frosted lighting panel that was a chic touch. The retro click-y light switches were cute.
- Lots of electrical outlets throughout the trailer. We used the bedside, kitchen, bathroom and sofa area outlets; all worked. Sofa-side there were two USB charging outlets and a Pyle panel to connect for music from your own device over Bluetooth.
- There was a 28” Samsung 720p television in the bedroom with about 120 channels of programming. Adds to the “glamping” atmosphere without going overboard.
- Super front desk staff. Late check-out request granted. We chatted with Laurel the first day and Blythe the next. I had also called before making reservations with questions, and was impressed with the staff even at that point.
- Easy access to Pacheco Park tennis/pickleball courts and playground (next door), Russian River (across CA-116) and Guerneville (2-3 minute drive).
- We spent a little time beside the fireplace in the lobby. Comfortable and airy area.
- Great property grounds. Swings. Camp fires. Herb garden. Hammocks. Grassy area. Walking path.
- Very thoughtful to provide bicycles (for riding around the neighborhood) and wagons (for transporting luggage).
- Folding sofabed afforded comfy lounging space inside the trailer.
- Overall everything was clean and well-maintained. Cabinets showed a little wear and tear, but that contributed to the charm of the camping-side of glamping.
- Easy parking.
THE WISHLIST
- Spa robes and slippers should be provided to support the “spa-like bathroom” claim.
- Muffins would be a nice addition to the free breakfast of granola, bagels and coffee.
- Only things that needed a little TLC were the window levers (a few were finicky to open and close), and the toilet flush lever (sometimes needed extra effort).
- Live music and yoga were not scheduled during our stay.
A SIDE NOTE
- The name of the place got changed to AutoCamp Sonoma while we were there which seems like a marketing mis-step since the city of Sonoma is around 45 miles away (AutoCamp website lists “Sonoma, CA” which is a reference to the city), and that does not connect with the promise and expectation of a woodsy glamping theme. “Sonoma Coast” may be more appropriate, but “Russian River” is still more endearing and authentic.
Great hybrid glamping-hotel experience. Also has a “lodge” feel. Pretty good location for calming forest bathing. High praise for the thoughtful service, ambience and accommodations. Enjoyed the stay so much, I even bought an AutoCamp t-shirt.
- SVRyder (8/5): great clamping experience in the redwoods - First time in Guerneville and Glamping. This is basically camping with support so expect kids and to hear other Glampers. Tents are about 6 ft from each other and yes, they are canvas so not noise proof. Trailers are trailers so expect quirks. Set your expectations and you'll have a great experience like we did.
Lovely location nestled in redwoods with beach access across the main street. Friendly staff who made our stay very enjoyable. We received an email prior to arrival with gate and trailer access codes. The site is nicely laid out and we found it quiet at night. We had both a tent and a premium airstream for our group of four. There are two levels of airstream and the premium is the step up which has better location and a larger plot but the airstreams are all the same. The regular airstream locations are near the front by the clubhouse and #24. Number 24 overlooks at house at the back so less secluded. Our airstream had a large table with two benches and two chairs next to the fire. Access to trailer is with a keypad with small buttons. It has a very faint chirp when you press each number so listen carefully. We could have brought a camping stove to cook on the table but we were able to cook with BBQ briquets in the fire pit. The tents were nicely appointed and the folks slept well. The airstream is a trailer so there are some quirks which is part of the experience and charm. Low water pressure and loud A/C plus it rocks back and forth if someone is walking. Common bathroom is very nice. Two showers, one enclosed toilet and urinal for the men. Morning coffee and bagels were provided. Overall, a lovely experience which is a bit different than your typical hotel and great way to introduce someone to the camping lifestyle.

- Departure22030246165 (2/5): Not What We Expected — Crowded, Smoky, and Noisy - We were really looking forward to our stay at AutoCamp Russian River, but unfortunately, the experience didn’t live up to the pictures or the promises.
First off, the tents are much closer together than they appear in the photos. There’s very little privacy, and you can hear and see everything happening around you. We came here to relax in nature, but it felt more like staying in a noisy backyard.
To make things worse, some of the guests nearby were burning wood all night, even though I thought the rules said charcoal only. The smoke blew straight into our tent — even with the doors and windows shut, we couldn’t escape it. I was really hoping for clean forest air, not to feel like I was camping inside a smoke cloud.
Adding to that, the kids from the neighboring tent kept throwing things near our area — sticks, toys, even rocks. Their parents did apologize, but made no effort to stop the behavior. It kept happening over and over, and it honestly made it hard to enjoy any peaceful moments outdoors.
The whole vibe was chaotic and uncomfortable. What was supposed to be a restful nature retreat ended up feeling stressful and frustrating.
If you're looking for a quiet, nature-filled experience with some space to breathe, I’d recommend looking elsewhere.
- 656hual (2/5): Disappointed experience - I had a disappointing experience at this campsite due to the overly dense tent arrangement. The smoke from neighboring campfires (which used low-quality wood) constantly blew into our tent, filling the area with a strong, unpleasant smell.
Because of this, we had to cancel our planned outdoor activities, and even at night, the smoke made it difficult to sleep comfortably. The poor air quality ruined what was supposed to be a relaxing trip.
Overall, I cannot recommend staying here.
- 887jiel (2/5): Dangerous, Disrespectful, and Completely Irresponsible - This was one of the worst and most frustrating travel experiences I’ve ever had.
Our neighbors were burning wood all night—which is explicitly against the campground’s own policies (charcoal only). Despite this clear violation, the staff did nothin. Our tent was completely filled with smoke. I have lung sensitivity, and breathing the polluted air made me physically unwell. It was not just uncomfortable — it was a serious health hazard.
We complained the next morning when they lit another fire, and were told we couldn't be moved to another tent or check out early without being charged. So our only options were to stay in an unsafe, unlivable situation or lose our money.
The fact that the staff chose to protect rule-breakers over guests’ health, and then refused to offer any solution or refund, shows a complete lack of responsibility, care, and professionalism. Their “policy” seems to be enforced selectively — and only when it benefits them.
I left feeling physically sick, angry, and taken advantage of. If you care about your health, safety, or basic fairness, stay far away from this place.
- Iris (2/5): - Large Hidden fees booking through Expedia for this hotel? I Still had to pay a big extra amount after I prepaid everything for my 3-night stay that was expected during my booking on Expedia? Look how things like this had been added ad-hoc again and again to my billing - note from the AutoCamp manager “Upon further investigation on this matter it appears that your room reservation from Expedia did not include the 14.195% Sales/Occupancy taxes that are standard on all bookings. As you were paying your own charges you would also be responsible for any taxes and fees associated with the Expedia reservation.
I did not see that there were no taxes associated with your Expedia booking so I did not factor that additional expense in when we were in communication about your booking. “
I would NOT at all recommend going to this hotel anymore, bad customer experience having to get frustrated and unclear with hidden charges and I hate being charged without reasonable upfront expectation setup.
- Group_Hotel_Pro (10/5): AutoCamp Russian River Is Tranquility At Its Best. - For me, Autocamp Russian River was near perfection. Weather, comfort, charm, setting, service. It's got it all. Tucked into a quiet neighborhood just beyond the Guerneville "downtown" and surrounded by redwood trees, the Autocamp Russian River is mostly quiet. We stayed in one of the airstream trailers and the bed was incredibly comfortable. I think they said it is a tempur pedic mattress. I liked that if it is warm one can use the A/C or open the windows.
The open air lobby is attractive and the selection of foods, wines, cheeses and camp supplies was really thorough. Though the airstream has a perfectly functioning bathroom with a shower, there is also a very very nice public bathroom with showers, towels and soaps in the lobby building.
This property is very small. Less than a minute walk from anywhere on property to the lobby building.
Blythe at the front desk was a real pleasure to speak with. She shared stories about the town and the area and was easy to talk to. I would certainly return to Autocamp Russian River and recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
My very favorite part of the resort is the picnic tables and hammocks in the redwood grove. I could have sat there all day!
- Theresa (10/5): - This was my second time at auto camp, this time with my dog and everything was amazing. Easy check in process, loved the red wagons to take all my stuff to my airstream and so much open space for my dog to enjoy.
- Mike (10/5): - The place is clean and quiet. Good getaway from the city. I booked with Expedia and as I was checking out. They charged me extra $ for cleaning fee. I did pay a good amount for a night and I’m surprised it wasn’t included in the first place. It also wasn’t mentioned when I was checking in, but I’m still giving a 5 star because it’s the best sleep I had in a long while.
The staffing was super nice. They supplied us with lighter fluid and lighter stick to light our charcoal! Lots of places to hangout other than your own private area. It’s beautiful at night! Lots of stars!
Their breakfast option is super simple but I like how simple it is. Just coffee, tea, and granola with milk.
It was a great first experience for first time auto camping. I would definitely do this again.
- kimbH2067XY (10/5): Amazing experience - Such an amazing experience. The photos don't do it justice. The staff are friendly, the trailers are nicely renovated and the bikes are a lot of fun. The trailers are close to each other but we always felt like we were in a private location. We really felt like we got our money's worth and can't wait to go back.
- sdias525_11 (4/5): Not as family friendly as previously... - We have been to this particular location and other Autocamp locations previously so we were excited to take a quick getaway for Mother's Day. Arrived at the property a little after 3:30 and we understood was a little early for their 4PM check in, but were rudely informed we were early and our room was not ready. 4PM came and went, and the room continued to not be ready...it wasn't until almost 5 (4:53PM) to be exact that our room was ready. While waiting, our kids and other kids from other families also waiting for their rooms were belittled and made not feel welcomed by the staff (even though everyone was patiently waiting for the rooms).
From the grounds keeper constantly coming to the hammocks to check if the kids were swinging (while the parents were around supervising their own children), I saw them yell at a 2 year old toddler that was riding their little balance bike that no bikes are allowed on property.
But perhaps the worst was when my own toddler daughter couldn't find us on the other side of the lobby and started to cry on Monday morning and the older front desk lady instead of checking on her, started to scream at her for crying and telling her to keep quiet... Luckily, we were on the other side of the lobby getting coffee and were able to comfort our daughter.
For $400+ a night, we expected to relax and enjoy the grounds, and not feel like we were a burden to the hotel. Either make the property adult only, or adjust to having kids around.
Note: As a Hilton Gold, I am not sure why Hilton has partnered with them as getting points or any benefits they make you jump through hoops for it.
- Keonjoo (10/5): - Very safe and clean area.
- Michael (1/5): Waste of time and money - It wasn’t what I paid for. The website was fraud, they had a picture of a airstream trailer which is what i selected and when I checked in I received something completely different and tiny. I couldn’t stand in it at all.
- Eugene (10/5): - Nice
- marry ann (10/5): - Clean and very quiet
- Rowena (10/5): - Our glamping experience was pure magic! we were welcomed by heavy downpour but it made us connect with nature better. The rain did not stop us from enjoying the night, the staff provided an umbrella so we can still use the fire pit to grill our dinner.Surprised how spacious the air stream was! We felt safe as the property is gated. We had a blast ! Thank you !
- Verified traveler (10/5): Wonderful glamping! - Wonderful experience for our family 1st glamping experience. Friendly staff! Wine tasting & live music at nights were really nice touch. We’ll be back!
- fluke712 (2/5): Unprofessional cancellation of reservation made seven months before stay - First time we have had a property cancel a confirmed booking because "the property is no longer available" which means the property has the "unfortunate necessity of displacing a few reservations, including yours". If the property is accommodating other reservations (including the friends we are going with), how is the property no longer available? We had made the reservation seven months before the stay!
Referring to the "Reservation Cancellation By Property Policy" with no attempt at service recovery is callous at best.
- Basak (9/5): Superb -
- Claire (9/5): Had a great time, would definitely return. - Beautiful redwoods, cool trailer, and the central “hangout” building is great. Super nice staff. The trailers are very swank, but I was expecting more “normal” airstreams with all the fun compartments and dining table. Not complaining - it felt very spacious and comfortable! Just not quite what I expected.
- Kelly (10/5): Loved it! Will come back in a heart beats - Everything Only thing we wish were there was more items in the store like food snacks etc
- Matthew (10/5): - Just a wonderful place.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - You can purchase a log there for $9. There’s extra shower at the front desk. Breakfast is only complimentary coffee, tea and cereal thats it.
- Olivia (8/5): - Great experience aside from the 14hr no power due to fallen trees
- Alysha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tongzhou (10/5): - Amazing!
- Noa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jiexin (6/5): - Not much to do:(
- RUCHELLE (10/5): A Hidden Gem Under The Redwoods Near a River - The property is perfectly situated near the town, making exploring local shops and restaurants easy. Additionally, it's conveniently close to river access, which is a great outdoor activity bonus.
Everything about the property was great—the accommodations were comfortable and well-maintained, creating a relaxing atmosphere for our stay.
The only downside was the Wi-Fi. It was inconsistent and didn’t work in some areas, which was a bit frustrating.
However, this did not overshadow the overall experience. The folks working there, especially Jill, Laurel, and Corey, were all nice and accommodating.
Overall, I highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a quick escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.
- Verified traveler (4/5): not for couples - Clean. Nice concept; however not for couples or anyone trying to get a decent nights sleep. This is for families with lots of kids and young adults who want to party during the evening.
If you want to sleep at all, do not stay in a "luxury" tent.
- Katrien (10/5): - Wonderful property. The tents and campers are quite close to each other but noise was not a problem.
- handyspanner (8/5): Enjoyable Weekend at AutoCamp - We came for Labour Day weekend. The tent was comfortable and the bed provided a great sleep. The enjoyable part of the weekend was sitting around the campfire cooking the food. There are a combination of tents and airstreams. The tents do get cold at night, so you require appropriate clothing. Within the tent you have all you require for an enjoyable weekend.
The shower and toilet facilities were spotless during our stay with plenty of towels and toiletries..
A really enjoyable weekend for all was had.
There is a Safeway about 10 minutes towards Russian River, should you require provisions.
- Anna (7/5): Fun for a night! - Campsite and airstream was great - lovely bathroom with toiletries, kitchen well kitted out with cooking utensils etc.
free wine tasting!
Very basic breakfast included (coffee, cereals) High price - like staying in a 4 star hotel
Location was ok for 1 night - near Russian river but nowhere particularly nice to walk for an hour or so nearby
- Meegan (10/5): - Excellent weekend- highly recommend
- Maria (8/5): Very good -
- Konami (8/5): - The streamliners were done were nicely done. Very comfy and you felt like you were under the redwood trees sleeping and camping. Very child friendly and clean. Loved the amenities.
- Harmony (7/5): We enjoyed it probably wouldn’t stay again. - The greenery and community spaces were wonderful! Mold on every window in the trailer. In the middle of summer that is wild. More cleaning in general needs to be done and for $600 a night we didn’t have robes in our trailer. The tent we rented was also in need of a deep clean and airing out, maybe de-humidifier?
Compared to other autocamp locations this one does not have much in the way of food.
- Alena (10/5): Exceptional -
- Minjie (10/5): - Excellent!!!!
- I-Ting (8/5): - The air conditioner on airstream is somehow broken. Otherwise, good experience.
- Katherine (10/5): - The camp is so cute but the airstreams image VERY close to one another. As you sit at your firepit all you hear is the AC of the airstream next to you. Kind of ruins it. And the city… gross. Head into the wine country for an escape.
- Somtida (10/5): - Love it. Will be back. The friendly and service-oriented staff are fantastic.
- Amy (8/5): - Very cool to stay in an Airstream amongst the Redwoods. I love how the park is arranged. Plenty of privacy. For a campground that was filled to capacity, it was also really quiet. Very nice!
- Qi (9/5): Superb -
- Melissa (10/5): - This is a great glamping site. My husband and I really enjoyed our time here. We stayed in on of the tents and we had a great time riding the bikes around, sitting by the campfires, playing boardgames, going out to eat in downdown and visiting the local galleries and the nearby redwoods. The campsite is close enough to town, but far enough to offer a more serene environment. I will definitely be coming back
- Ben (10/5): - Nice
- Verified traveler (10/5): We’ll be back! - This place is magical. Amazing service and great amenities. The tent was spacious & comfortable and the grounds were beautiful.
- kalinda (10/5): - I love it, 1st time staying and will return soon.
- Wu (8/5): - We stayed in an Airstream which is the furthest from the clubhouse, so the Internet connection is very bad. When I mentioned this to the staff, their response “sure the further you are from clubhouse, the worst your internet”. But how come they can’t make it better by putting mesh extension to improve it. We paid over $550/night for the stay and it was rainy and cold so it’s not ideal to walk to and hang at the clubhouse. For that price I’d expect basic facilities such as internet to be working from everywhere on the property.
- Maureen (10/5): - This is a great change from staying at your average family friendly hotel… 2 adults, 2 small kids or one adult and one teen can sleep comfortably in an airstream, any more than that and it would be too small. Beverages are costly. But overall, despite the bad weather we had (rain/cold) we really liked it - and the staff was excellent!
- HopeIDontHaveCOVID (10/5): Pretty great! - Blythe was a pleasure to talk to every morning and was very helpful in helping us have a small personal celebration. She is a local and was very knowledgeable about the area. Very, very big thanks to her - please recognize her for this excellent service.
The facility itself was nice. There is a small wooden playground onsite that helped entertain the kids, along with an adjacent city-owned playground. There is a small riverbank for the Russian River about a 5 min walk away that was great as well. And it is nice to have a supermarket and town nearby, along with all the wonderful things there are to do around the area like Armstrong, Jenner, the shore, the winery scene, etc.
The trailers were also great. Roomy enough compared to a tent. They do wobble when you walk inside them, which is an issue when you have people sleeping. The fold out beds are a little small, but adequate, again considering the context. The bathrooms are great too. There are showers in the lodge as well, if you need something a little roomier. Firepits, communal areas, and internet were all solid.
When we were there, it was not crowded at all. If it were fuller, it might have been a different experience. All said, would definitely come back.
- JL922 (4/5): Lord have mercy - If you are headed here and it it pouring, go home. If you are headed here and it is not raining, go home. Russian River has its own gulag. It is a trailer park with old airstreams that are.cramped, uncomfortable and are parked in a dreary little corner of a wooded area. This is where you stay if you are hiding from the law.
The reception area is drafty and mostly serves as a place to sell items with the autocamp brand. Fortunately, they also have a good selection of wine to help forget the autocamp brand.
The nearby town is a bustling metropolis, was never said by anyone. You will have no choice but to eat at one of the fine establishments and fight with your spouse over who suggested this trip in the first place.
- Stephanie (10/5): Incredible stay! - We absolutely loved our stay! The bed was so comfortable. We spent the evening hanging out by the fire and it was so cozy. I just wish we had more time to hang out in the area. It was dog-friendly which is a huge bonus for us.
- Shu Qing (10/5): - Will come back next time
- Maps13478395888 (10/5): Nothing but praise - Love love love this place … it has been on my travel bucket list for a few years and finally we arrived. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The checkin was easy using info via text. The vibe is healthy, modern, and full of nature. The redwoods are just gorgeous and the open space on the property is breath taking. We had an airstream with a hot tub and they set it up for us (wood burning redwood). It was wonderful - although regulating the temp is not easy … it was super hot and then with the cover off, it dropped down. And we brought our own wine and they even had nice wine glasses. Nothing but great things to say to about this lovely place … off to cycle and wine taste.
- Ann (10/5): Recommend highly - Cory was super welcoming and helpful. Our Airstream was impeccable. The camp-sight is so tidy and beautifully manicured. The fires were always on with a cozy seat to sit by it. It was very quiet in the night time and morning to allow for a sound sleep. It was an amazing experience!
- Explorer57732432148 (10/5): Amazing Weekend - Got home after a weekend at Autocamp. This is a must for anyone looking to unplug and unwind. It’s camping with all the comforts of home without any packing or set up. Could there be anything better? Also the team is absolutely fantastic - shout out to Debby at the Front Desk!
- tfrazer (10/5): Hospitality and Comfort under the redwoods - I made a last minute Sunday night reservation at AutoCamp Russian River and drove out Bohemian Highway to Guerneville. I am originally from Sonoma County and was taking note of all the changes (more restaurants, far more tourists, and generally more sophisticated vibe), and the things that have stayed the same (the river culture, the River Theater, the River itself...). It's always been a special spot and it's kept what makes it beautiful and unique. Thank heaven.
I was searching for someplace quiet to spend the night. A chance to regroup and relax. Friends suggested AutoCamp as something unique and different from wine-centric hotels in the County. I arrived to a crunchy gravel parking lot and an inviting, open air greeting center. I had received a text that outlined the check in procedure and let me know what to expect. I was greeted by a very helpful person who let me know the about the room, the bathroom/showers (in the same building behind the front desk) and which tent was mine for the evening.
When I took my little luggage wagon to the tent, I was greeted with a beautiful safari style tent with the basics covered. Lighting was good, a battery powered lantern was provided, an electric kettle, cooler awaiting ice, a little fire pit with grill, and a king sized bed with heated mattress pad. It was really charming and pitch perfect for a "glamping" experience.
The shower and bathroom facility were stocked with high quality soap/shampoo and was spa like. The little storefront was well stocked with wine, snacks, fire "wood" in burnable burlap sack. It had most everything you needed for an overnight, including s'more supplies.
The bed was wildly comfortable, the camp settled down quickly after the quiet time of 10:00 PM and I slept soundly with the wind whispering through the redwoods that surrounded the campsite.
The next morning I went to the yoga teepee and did a little stretching. Jill was working the front desk and was a delight. She lives close by and knows the area like the back of her hand, took a real interest in the quality of my stay and struck the perfect balance friendliness and service. Her care really made the difference for me.
I look forward to returning soon and enjoying another night or two under the stars and redwoods at a very special place. Great work AutoCamp.
- Kristin (10/5): - Staff was nice. Property was clean. Peaceful and quiet environment
- K5402OCdanj (10/5): A wonderful glamping experience! - My young son and I spent one day/night at Auto Camp and absolutely loved it. We had planned to venture out and see more of the surrounding area, but Auto Camp was so cool and fun that we ended up staying at camp the entire day.
First the airstreams are very cool. Modern and clean and they have every amenity - even pens, scissors and a bottle opener. And the shower/bathroom is surprisingly spacious. The decor throughout is tastefully done.
While the campsites are close together each has a secluded feel because of the landscaping. It really feels like you're alone in the woods.
The communal amenities are nice as well. There is a large fire pit that provides a nice ambiance and a large grass field where my son and I tossed a football. There is also a playground for younger kids. It's nice to walk around the path that circles the camp. It's short but they have these stunning green leafed trees that appear to glow in the sunlight. Oh and they also have bikes you can take on a first come, first served basis. We rode them into town to grab some food for dinner to cook on our grill - every airstream or luxury tent gets a fire ring with cooking grate.
Lastly the staff is super friendly and kind and the store is small but seems to have everything you need.
If you like rugged tent camping in the outdoors go do that, but if you want a little bit of glamping then Auto Camp is well worth a look.
- Tib666 (10/5): Perfect get away for gparents and gkids - We stayed in an Airstream and it was perfect for us. There is a separate bedroom plus a fold out that was big enough for an 8 and 11 year old. It was very clean and well maintained. The whole camp was very clean and beautifully maintained. The bathroom is large and very clean, not the tiny bath in a typical trailer or RV.
The airstream is spacious and comfortable for two adults and two smaller kids, especially since a private deck and picnic table is right outside the door. The airstream has AC and heat but we did not use either one.
There is a very nice playground with lots of opportunities to climb and play. They have a complementary granola breakfast with coffee. There is a nice gas firepit by the main building, a good place to sit in the morning or evening. The showers in the main building were very clean as well.
Visitors seemed to be a mix of couples and families and the place was very quiet in the evening, great for sleeping.
There is no cooking facility inside the airstream except a microwave so either cook in the fire ring or bring a camping stove. Or eat in Guernville. Probably charcoal is a better alternative than pressed logs. The airstreams are surrounded by trees so no firewood allowed. The fridge is smallish.
We live in the area but wanted to get away for a few days. There is lots of wine tasting in the area (which we did not do), the coast is nearby, Guernville is close with lots of restaurants, Johnson's Beach is good for swimming.
Most important, thanks to the very very helpful and friendly staff.
- brandyk352 (10/5): Wonderful location! - Site is gorgeous, tents are spacious and staff is kind and helpful. Clubhouse is close by and well-appointed. Coffee delicious! We really enjoyed the communal nature of staying on the main lawn but private spaces are also sweet. At first we were sad that the Airstreams weren’t available and I’m the end, we were glad we got the tents! Super relaxing and fun!
- Xie (9/5): Superb -
- Misaki (10/5): Would definitely come back again! - Nice staff and gorgeous view. Not quiet spacious
- Austin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yiqing (8/5): - Good!
- Patricia (10/5): - It was great but the shower was very slow and the hot water was limited
- Remy (6/5): - Everything about Autocamp was great EXCEPT for the staff. Beautiful location, lovely surroundings and a great idea for a stay. Only problem me and my wife faced was service. Poor communication, staff would rather get pictures of s’mores for their website than help me and my wife when we were coming in from the rain. Ignored, laughed at, and overall just mean. Felt like we were poor or not fit to be there based on the reactions of the staff to our questions concerns, etc. great place but I would not recommend due to the staffs overall poor customer service.
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good -
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sukonthip (9/5): Superb -
- EarthSpinner (8/5): Love the property. Just consider carefully when your kids aren't small. - We stayed in one of their AirStream RV. It had showers and microwave/sink/small frig. Bedroom was perfect but the sofa bed was too small. I felt like it was even smaller than double(??). We had two girls, 9 and 11, who are maybe taller than average and we could see they weren't going to be comfortable (width-wise.) We let them take the bedroom and we ended up sleeping on the sofa by making a small modification. We placed one of our car camping mattress on the sofa and placed it near the wall thus making the sofa bed wider than it actually is. It worked for us for the 2 night stay and we enjoyed the stay otherwise. Their common facility was open to outside with the provided continental breakfast and fireplace.
In front of each RV, there was a firepit with two chairs and outdoor (square) table with four chairs. We cooked and ate outside and it was pretty awesome. Will we come back? Probably not. If our kids were smaller, definitely. If your family has one kid or maybe two small kids, RV set up would work for you but not for us. Otherwise, it was awesome. Shower floor inside RV didn't feel all that clean but we wore flip flops.
There are river access nearby, free and paid, that you can float on if you are looking for such activities.
- Yooseong (10/5): - Very nice!
- Hyoungju (1/5): Bad -
- lornarn76 (10/5): Fantastic “Glamping” Experience! - I have always wanted to stay in an Airstream. I camped when I was younger but now that I am a senior, I like “glamping”. What a fun two night stay we had. AutoCamp is beautiful. The Rec Center is lovely and the staff were welcoming and helpful. The property is gorgeous. I am from this neck of the woods and I appreciate how they have incorporated the units into the natural woods. Thank you!
Our Airstream was lovely. I will include some photos. We slept VERY well in the comfortable bed as it was extremely quiet even though we were surrounded by young children. The bathroom is luxurious. I could have used a bit more counter space but we did bring our espresso machine and small coffee pot as we are not fans of French press coffee. As always, the dorm fridge could have been larger but it is standard hotel room size. Good microwave. We didn’t cook our dinners but many other campers did. Their good wood is fabulous. We pre-ordered and it was waiting for us when we arrived so I could have my S’More. The front desk staff even has great long wood marshmallow roasting sticks available.
We enjoyed sitting by both fire pits in the rec center. They had a wine tasting on Thursday night. We met so many wonderful people during our stay. The atmosphere encourages friendliness and fellow campers enjoying having a nice conversation.
A walk in beautiful Armstrong Woods among the redwoods and a drive to the California coast are always memorable. Guerneville has some lovely restaurants. Try “boon eat & drink” as it is well worth the wait for a table.
A fantastic get away with most of the luxuries of a great hotel.

- Maibennett (10/5): Great Family Trip! - Our kind of vacation is usually the beach but Autocamp Russian River definitely made it to our top 3 vacation spots this year!! I don’t have a very outdoorsy kind of family , so this trip was perfect for them. Kind of outdoorsy and kind of luxury. The best of both worlds!! Ohh and let me just tell you, the service is AMAZING!! They’re so attentive and literally a text away! You can send a text and they’re at your camper in 5 minutes!! We will definitely be back!! Thank you Autocamp for a fabulous family vacation!
- Sahithi (10/5): Book it!! Don’t think twice! - Amazing place to stay! They thought of everything; bathroom necessities, drinking water, food options, etc. Would highly recommend!
