• Conor (9/5): Really comfortable enjoyable stay - I really enjoyed my stay at Blue sand. Every single staff member I met was lovely. Amazing breakfast, way more food than anyone could eat. Just really quiet and comfortable.
• Eduard (6/5): Trotz sehr gutem Restaurant werden wir das Hotel auf keinen Fall weiterempfehlen - Das Strandrestaurant war schön mit einem sehr guten Essen. Dort gab es auch ein tolles Frühstück. Die Außenanlagen im Garten war katastrophal. Fast überall lag Schrott.
• martha (9/5): Great hotel on great location with beachbeds and shade - Location was perfect on the beach. Beachbeds with umbrellas. Room was clean, bed good,shower, good ac, wifi , staff very friendly. Breakfast looking out over the see. Breakfast was big, coffee or tea, eggs the way you like with beans, tomatoes, sausages, patatoes, toast butter jam and all kind of pastries. Sri Lankan cocosbread with chutney and a dessert choice of pancakes or waterbuffelo yogurt with honey. The restaurant also serves a great curry rice. Good cocktail at night like a killer negroni. The price of espresso/ latte/cappuccino is way to high. Allthough the coffee is good 1600 roepies a cup is ridiculous. Close to Fernandos(?) bar is a restaurant cafe on the 18th serving those coffees for 700
• Kirthana (8/5): Lovely stay, incredible staff, immaculate location. - The people are incredibly lovely. The staff are so hospitable. And what a location. You can’t get better access to the beach and the beachfront than this. Everything was truly lovely. I’d say maybe having thicker blankets would be helpful in the rooms, as the nights can occasionally get cold.

• alpesh (9/5): Great stay - The staff here from reception to catering were absolutely amazing, helps if many ways to make sure our stay was memorable. Great location on the beach Rooms slightly dated but still nice and location was so good that didn't spend much time there .

• Nadja (8/5): A good stay - they have potential to be better - Its a good stay, you have the beach right there and a bar during the day for snacks and drinks. Rooms are OK, nothing special, but comfortable enough. Stuff was friendly, they just need a better system - who handles the invoices, who does sth else. Breakfast was rich, self service. Once they clean the area around the hotel, put some extra plants, some benches, it will have a much better look. They should put some more efford in the external area (create a richer garden, more plants)- and remove the trash, I am sure it will happen in time.

• LisaV (7/5): Goede locatie en vriendelijke medewerkers - De locatie aan het water is fantastisch! De medewerkers staan altijd klaar om te helpen. Ontbijt was erg goed. Er waren niet altijd bedjes beschikbaar bij het water. Wij hebben van de 3 dagen, 1 dag een goed bedje kunnen gebruiken. De kamer is klein en donker. Voor de prijs hadden we hier meer van verwacht.

• AGNIESZKA (8/5): Spędziliśmy tam 2 noce po locie i wypoczęliśmy bardzo. - Hotel bezpośrednio przy plaży z własną restauracją w której serwowano śniadania. Malowniczo położony. Pokoje czyste z widokiem na ocean, łóżka bardzo wygodne. Bardzo długo czekało się na śniadania (40 minut to tam norma zanim podali do stołu).

Bad smell in bathroom - came back a few hours after housekeeping cleaned drain. No sea views. Price point way out compared to other properties for facilities, accomodation, food and service. Reliant on high season and availability to justify prices. Had it been 1/2 to 3/4 of paid that would be appropriate for quality and my review would have been very different. At this price much more expected.

There's the option of either a "western" or Sri Lankan menu; we chose western and enjoyed plates of fresh fruit, glasses of freshly squeezed fruit juice, eggs (omelette and fried), toast, pancakes and tea. • Catherine (3/5): Very disappointed so we moved hotels to get a decent nights sleep and decent facilities. Would not recommend - The location was excellent. The housekeeper was lovely and couldn’t do anymore for us whereas reception was poor and unwelcoming with a scruffy whiteboard behind it. The room was described as DeLuxe when at best it was standard. Poor air conditioning very noisy and very cold couldn’t set it at a decent temperature. Facilities in the room as described did not exist. Breakfast was poor.

• Catherine (10/5): Paradise! We felt like kings & queens! Amazing in all aspects.. highly highly recommend! - Exceptional in all ways! We adored this oasis on the beach. The sun chairs and carousals added an amazing touch of class and comfort to the incredible beach infront. The staff could not do any more for us.. always there to ensure we were having the best time. There were other hotels/restaurants along the beach front but we ate in our hotel every night. The grill was amazing and such fresh food. One of the older staff members( can’t remember his name) was exceptional and made us feel just at home. We didn’t want to leave!! Paradise!
• Paytsar (10/5): Exceptional - It was a very nice stay. The staff of the hotel and restaurant made sure we felt at home. They were very helpful, kind and friendly. A huge thanks to the receptionists, the manager and all other guys for such warm welcome. The hotel and the restaurant are located right on the beach, just a few meters to walk. In the evening you could have dinner right on the beach. They had western breakfast and traditional Sri Lankan breakfast. It was good breakfast with local fruits and freshly squeezed juice. Special thanks to the Chief for vary tasty dishes for dinner.

• Janis (9/5): Perfect location for beach days with very nice staff - What we liked most about the resort is the direct connection to the beach. The restaurant also serves food and drinks when laying at the beach. The rooms are clean and very well prepared. Nishanthan is an artist who folds the towels in a very special way - which we really liked. Also, the whole staff is very welcoming and super friendly! :) It seems that the resort as such is showing its age and could have some maintenance (paint, …). Also, the restaurant could be better. The breakfast is okay but nothing very special. We decided to mostly eat somewhere else - but those places are around the corner and should definitely not prevent from going there.
• Tamara (8/5): Clean and comfortable room right on the beach! - The hotel is located right on the beach and offers sunbeds, umbrellas and beach towels for the guests. The staff is really friendly and especially the housekeeping staff is super nice. The room was very clean and was also cleaned daily during our stay. The breakfast at the beach restaurant is very basic and was unfortunately one of the worst we had during our 3 weeks traveling Sri Lanka.

The restaurant was fab - lots to eat and always happy to see you. Sunloungers right outside the hotel and staff always coming over to take drink and food orders. The room was quite basic - we stayed 4 nights and it only got cleaned once. Had to keep asking for fresh towels in the room etc.

Breakfast is coffee, bread , butter , ommlete, juice ,water,no more choice Amenities in room are poor. Everything I dont like , nothing is similar in picture. Garden looks almost die. Board dont t keep immage hotel, refridgerator is not function, odor likes cockroch. Staff said clean room everyday but no clean🤐 Poor..service

Blue Sand had got all the important stuff right - comfy large bed, great air con, good pressure and hot water shower, comfortable sun loungers with various other seating options too, helpful and friendly staff, beachfront location and clean environment. Perfect for the last few days of our trip and a small enough resort to not feel like another tourist in a big resort. We had the best time and hope this gorgeous spot stays this way. Nothing

Someone who didn't speak English, who when I told him my name, repeated it and stared at me as if I was an alien. Then the Manager arrived and sorted everything out. Room description on booking.com did not Match actual room, which led to Initial misunderstanding . While the food was great, Staff have to learn to bring Coffee or tea at breakfast right away instead of bringing it only when serving the food.

• James (5/5): Beautiful beach hotel that needs some renovations - Location is amazing. The bar & restaurant location is also amazing. Such a beautiful beach front. The staff are exceptional and go above and beyond. So many mosquitoes in the room but the staff gave us a citronella repellent for the socket which worked great. The bathroom had a rusty smell coming from the drain, a cockroach came into the bathroom while using the shower which wasn’t a pleasant experience.

• Richard (7/5): Perfect beach, clean and friendly hotel. - The two best things about the hotel is the proximity to the beach (it’s directly in front of the hotel) and the staff. The beach is spotless and clean and the staff were all so friendly. All the staff from our room staff which always made the room spotlessly clean after servicing the room, the gardeners who maintained a oasis of green, reception staff who greeted us everyday and the amazing team in the restaurant. We only stayed 5 days but the staff became friends who were only concerned that we enjoyed our time in Sri Lanka. We had two move several times as the a/c kept breaking down. The staff dealt with the situation immediately, but considering we had 2 nights without a/c and had to move twice eventually to a room without a window, a acknowledgment in the form of a discount, bottle of wine or basket of fruit would have been nice. In saying this it would not stop me from staying at this hotel again. Things break down in this climate and the staff did the best they could.
