Guest Reviews
- Serra (10/5): Excellent cozy hotel, excellent service - The location is excellent 100 mt to the shore. The property, rooms, the bar and restaurant are awesome and the breakfast is to die for. Apart from all the positive attributes, I was amazed at their problem solving skills. For some glitch in the booking system my room rez for 2 nights was cancelled 4 days before the trip in booking.com. And we were going for a wedding so cant change the dates. I reached out to the hotel and they were fully booked for the weekend; however they worked some magic. We ended up staying in two different upgraded rooms in two nights and the rooms were fantastic. We are so thankful to everyone for this and hope to visit again soon.

- Holly (8/5): Nice facilities, my room needed a touch up - Comfortable bed, very nice shower rainfall and standard heads with good pressure and got hot quickly. Was glad to have air conditioning Shower was a large glass enclosure but sealant had perished all around so it leaked onto the floor, this seemed an old issue as baseboards looked damp/swollen and paint eroded at the bottom of the walls. Street outside very loud with sound of cars at all hours with window closed.
- Katherine (10/5): Amazing weekend spent in a great location mews house was everything and more highly recommend - The Ginger Pig is a beautiful concept friendly uber cool and great location Easy, staff super friendly and perfect location.
- Shannon (10/5): Lovely - Lovely hotel. Nice staff. Easy walk in to Town.
- john (9/5): - Great room. and facilities nothing it was all good
- Mark (10/5): Lovely place to stay at. Will use again when im next in Hove - Great location. Looked after by the staff. Clean room and a huge bathroom
- Dan (8/5): Loved it, no regrets - Liked the ginger pig style throughout
Great bathrooms
Nice room
Great bed
Nice amenities and mini bar Stains on the carpets
Stairs are really not great, small, winding
Stains in the hallways
No chairs in the room, aside from the uncomfortable looking wire one

- Rachel (10/5): Really cosy and lovely hotel and restaurant, friendly staff and wonderful food - Lovely friendly staff who made me feel very comfortable, the room was better than i expected and very clean, a good selection of tea and coffee with real milk. Very comfy bed and room, a really nice place to stay for a day or so. The colour scheme is quite dark, my personal preference is something a bit lighter.
- marcus (9/5): Hove's best kept secret. - The room is surprisingly big and super comfy. Mini-bar is well considered and full of little gems. Bathroom is pleasing on the eye, spacious and filled with high end gels, shampoos and moisturisers. The whole experience with the bar/resto downstairs is just great. First but not last time for us, I've stayed almost everywhere in Brighton, and frankly wish I'd been staying here! If you're looking for a a gym, sitting areas, other facilities, then this is maybe not for you but for a short away break in a quiet part of town, it's just perfect.

- Sharon (9/5): My sister and I enjoyed our stay - We had a great evening meal The rooms and hallway was so dark. We had a small room and the walls were painted dark navy. I like the daylight and light rooms

- Harriet (5/5): It was fine - It felt a little bit sort of lonely in the accommodation wing and the rooms were a bit tired in places.
- Anne (10/5): A great pleasure - Apart from the property being very well cared for we felt welcomed and looked after Nothing
- john (9/5): - lovely room food in bar excellent nothing
- Harriet (9/5): A fabulous stay, lovely staff, beautiful roooms, bathrooms, delicious food and a stone’s throw from the beach and close - Really nice design, very comfortable bedrooms and exceptional bathrooms with lovely quality products and incredible food in the restaurant. Fridges in rooms didn’t work, which was a shame.
- Jean-Pierre (8/5): -
- Micheal (7/5): Disappointing check out - I have previously stayed here and had a good experience so was a bit disappointed to be charged £15 when checking out at 11:45 am on a Sunday. Perhaps I should have paid closer attention to the T&C’s when booking, as had expected a 12:00 check out as is usual with hotels. I travel a lot and have never been charged for checking out late. Just overall a bit disappointed about this and unsure if I’ll book again unfortunately.
- Dianne (10/5): - Loved it, especially the staff 😊
- Patterson (9/5): Excellent - Lovely room, excellent value, friendly and helpful staff. Service at dinner was a little slow, but it was busy and the food was lovely so worth the wait.
- john (9/5): - The bed was really comfortable bedding lovely and all the sha.ppo shower gel excellent and a great mini bar if needed
the restaurant was brilliant nothing
- Claire (9/5): Great location, food & service. - Amazing weekend in the Ginger Pig. Had breakfast both mornings and it was excellent. Staff very friendly and service superb. A few extra little touches in the room like the radio which I loved. Highly recommended.
- Annabel (10/5): -
- Lindsay Watson (10/5): A warm welcoming hotel with top class facilities, well worth a visit if you are in the area. - The Hotel staff were amazing, we were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived. We were taken to our rooms and shown all the available facilities upon arrival. The breakfasts were exceptional from the traditional English breakfast through to the porridge with fruit and honey. As food was provided at our conference we ate most of our others meals off site but from the meals I saw being served during our stay they looked as amazing as the breakfast. The hotel is about 30 minutes away from the Brighton conference centre so each morning and evening we had a lovely walk along the seafront back to the hotel. The rooms were spotless, warm and comfortable. Each room had its own bathroom which was again large and very maintained. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting The Hove and Brighton area. The fact we had to leave, we will definitely heading back
- Ann (10/5): a real find & easy to park too - everything nothing
- Steve (9/5): October 3rd&4th 2025 - Our room was fabulous - Amazing ensuite facilities too. Comfy bed, good coffee machine and well stocked mini fridge. We couldn't fault anything - mini fridge maybe a tad pricey but understandable
- Roy (10/5): Very relaxed stay. - Very quiet location. Perhaps the addition of a casual chair would be liked.
- Joshua (8/5): -
- Karen (10/5): Will recommend to ALL my friends and will definitely return! - All the staff, without exception. were welcoming and polite. The shower (room 3) was incredible.
The restaurant was superb.
We were able to park on the road outside.
All in all, exceptional!
- Aoife (7/5): Single room in Hove - The bathroom was big (single room). Room and everything needed. It was a bit noisy outside so I shut the window at night and slept with the air con on and woke up with a very bad cold. It might be that the air con unit needs to be cleaned as they harbour and breed bacteria.
A new coat of paint and carpet would make the place seem cleaner.
- monika (10/5): - Wszystko, polecam pod każdym względem
- John (9/5): Heavenly Hove - Large comfortable room and an excellent restaurant at which we enjoyed a delicious dinner and breakfast.
- Michael (5/5): Mediocre for the price - first and last time I’ll stay here - Location, friendly bar staff, air-con, nice shower Steep stairs to second floor room - I know that sounds picky but had I been infirm or older, it would have become more of an issue but it was not a great start. I do not remember an advisory in the advert post. Dirty window sills - just didn’t expect a layer of dirt at nearly £250 a night. Clearly hadn’t been cleaned for a while. One area to hang clothes, nothing but a tiny drawer for shorts, socks, T-shirts, underwear. Therefore, aside from hanging clothes, lived out of the suitcases. Again, reflection of the daily cost - not really. The problem with that arose because of the efforts to try and sell the minibar instead of concentrating on needs. I’m not dull, I know the minibar in a room is expensive but £29 for a half bottle of red wine, £4.25 for a half litre of Coca-Cola, £5 for a 330ml bottle of beer and £2.50 for a normal sized bag of crisps in a slightly posh converted pub is ridiculous. The argument would be the price of convenience but when you check the prices you can pop over the road to a Co-op for less than a third of the price and have it all in place. The bed was alright, bit low for us but that’s personal. Overall, just disappointing and left without even being asked how the stay was - kind of summed it up
- Haz72 (9/5): Great rooms & service in a fab location - A great location and the staff were so friendly & provided an excellent service. The bed was so comfortable, the bathroom clean & well equipped complete with dressing gowns & toiletries, and the mini bar was well stocked also. I appreciated that the windows opened as well as having heating/aircon. I didn't get a chance to try the food downstairs and I'm honestly a bit gutted because the menu looks delicious! There's no reception or communal area for the rooms when the restaurant is closed - this really didn't impact me and I felt very safe but something to be aware of.
- John (8/5): Just the job ! - Happy with the location and the facilities, impressed with the thought that had been given to a lot of the facilities, small things but all contribute, example torches in the rooms in case of power failures.
Overall the general running of the place and the staff attitude.
Special note the bar person that made the cocktails we had needs a special mention his Margaretas were as good as we've tasted and we've tasted a few !!! Nit picking really but the little courtyard in number 3 could really be made into a major feature of the rooms with not a lot of effort.
Our stay however was first class and most enjoyable.
Check in and check out times perhaps could be reviewed at some point with perhaps a more fluid system or even a small charge to extend some times. Appreciating the problems this could cause but a point to consider.
- Sally (10/5): -

- saramD1010LO (10/5): Fabulous stay at The Ginger Pig in Hove. - Super staff. Very professional, nothing too much trouble. Well led team by the general manager. The meet and greet was very helpful and hospitable.
The accommodation is clean & comfortable, all very relaxed.
Dining here is always good, can’t fault the quality or the service, even when coping with a large table for orders.
Thank you & we’ll be back next year.
Sara.
- Rebecca (8/5): -
- Ilse (9/5): gezellig - leuke huisjes met alle comfort, heel modern ingericht
- Claire (10/5): -
- J.M. (8/5): . - Grote comfortabele kamer met airco.
Aparte ingang naast de pub .
Lekker ontbijt en eten. Lokatie dicht bij het strand. Parkeren in de buurt was niet eenvoudig.
- McConnell (5/5): Good food but rooms could be much more luxurious - Food very good restobis well known Room too dark and gloomy colors
- Rachael (9/5): -
- Mark (10/5): A great place to stay - The mews where we stayed was very nice, very comfortable and had air con which was fantastic
Location was just a short drive to the pier in Brighton No feedback
- Linda (8/5): very nice room - lovely size room with huge bath and shower room
plugs for electrical uses were not enough
outside terrace was not as expected
small window/door for sea view only slept in the room no idea what the restaurant or bar areas were like
nowhere to sit out
- Ruth (6/5): I want to say fab , but really only average.. - The staff here very helpful & friendly.
The location was perfect for our needs.
The property is old and with that comes some issues. We booked 2 large double rooms at £210 each. ( no breakfast)
One room was large & spacious with a large double bed.
The other on the floor above was small. The bed was tiny for 2 people .. my husband is 6ft, luckily I am small as the bed was so near the window it was hard to climb over the radiator to get into bed.
Really not ideal.
The air condition did not work properly .
The bathroom was large & sparse and the toilet flush was very hard to use.
I really wanted to love it but was disappointed for the price charged.
- Russell (10/5): -
- Peter (10/5): - Friendly and welcoming and a great bar and restaurant
- Martin (10/5): -
- Sandra (10/5): - Lovely pleasant staff, Lukas booked us in and it really was an easy stay from there .The room was smartly presented, tea coffee and water is complimentary .The coffee machine could have done with instructions I've not used the pod ones before( though perhaps there are ? and I missed them? Apologies if that is the case) I managed to work it out with aid of you tube so all good .The lighting isnt great, quite gloomy especially in the bathroom if you want to do your makeup but again you can get round this. The bedroom was very comfortable, air conditioned and you could open the windows too- always a plus . We didnt eat here however we did have cocktails in the bar and the bar staff produced excellent margaritas always a good sign as so many get them so wrong. Would highly recommend The Ginger Pig
- Louise (10/5): - Stayed in small double bedroom, great quality room with comfy bed and immaculate facilities. Our only issue would be light getting past the window blind which woke us. Would stay again.
- Elliott (10/5): - Fabulous room, excellent restaurant and great service.
- Rich Culver (9/5): Great Place to Stay - We've been to Brighton a couple of times and have a niece who lives within walking distance to the Ginger Pig. We have found the Ginger Pig to be very convenience and meets our needs. Having the restaurant downstairs helps.
- Teresa (7/5): Lovely weekend - Location was great
Very clean The room was small and quite expensive for what it was ..
- Louise (10/5): - this is our favourite place when visiting Brighton and Hove. We find new favourite bars and restaurants every time we return.
- Linda (8/5): A perfect place with excellent staff for our short visit to the area - The staff were excellent:
Friendly
Professional
Efficient
Cheerful
Thoughtful
The mews house- well equipped, excellent comfy beds, clean, quiet
The food at dinner was delicious! The breakfast wasn’t quite as good as dinner but that’s personal taste
- Sibyl (4/5): - I have a lung and chest problem and any type of stairs which are steep are not for me, I think they should ask people if you are staying on the top floor if they have a problem, my husbands blood pressure drops which the docs can’t figure out those stairs are an issue when you have that problem. The breakfast was lovely. Thanks
- Milly (9/5): -
- Andrew (10/5): -
- alixz (10/5): Great location, great service, great food. - Enjoyed a lovely stay at the Ginger Pig. The location is excellent, just across from the beach board walk. My room was large and comfortable. Amenities were very good, including a bottle of fresh milk in the minibar for coffee in the morning, a nice touch. The room had an excellent air conditioning unit, which ran very quietly (note: it is a luxury to find air conditioning at any hotel in the U.K.). Staff were very helpful, and the restaurant downstairs is great. I enjoyed 2 delicious dinners at the Ginger Pig, with interesting wines to choose from by the glass. I enjoyed dinner at several other very good restaurants in Hove, but I liked the food at the Ginger Pig the best. I recommend enjoying a cocktail at the lovely Plotting Parlour cocktail bar on the main street. I will definitely return and I look forward to my next stay at the Ginger Pig.
- suzanne (10/5): lovely bijou hotel - just stayed for a night.... perfect place...location to beach wonderful... sadly it was only one night... When i return to Brighton, which hopefully wont be too long i will definitely book The Ginger Pig
- Ruth (7/5): - Dinner was amazing 👏 Breakfast was so poorly staffed we walked out after not even being offered a hot drink
- Geoff (9/5): PLeasantly surprised. - Very nice and comfortable room.
