Guest Reviews
- TAKUJI (6/5): I will never stay Lavish suites - The floor of the bathroom and kitchen wasn't clean enough.
Because one of the two elevators for lower floors was out of service during my stay, I should wait for the elevator for a while when I went up to the suite.
- Mahiar (2/5): - Too much headache. Difficult to communicate.
- CB (6/5): - The bedding was thin and the bed was uncomfortable, but the place was clean and adequate. The guys on the phone during check-in were pretty bad sending me to one place and then to another; very inconvenient to drag bags around the building. There was no view of the water as promised; guess that was the first condo they sent me to.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Beautiful, with room for improvement - The apartment is placed 5 minutes from the CN tower and aquarium, making the location the best. The place itself is also very pretty and modern, with a very beautiful view.
It is worth mentioning that to contact the owner or company in order to get in (the first time), you need to contact them by phone call, which is very inconvenient for people travelling, due to several different fees. Moreover, the apartment in the pictures is not the only apartment available for rent, therefore it could be that you don't get the apartment shown.
Lastly, the cleanliness of the apartment left a lot to be desired, which i'm sure is the cleaning service fault, but is worth mentioning nonetheless.
We overall had a great time, but the service has room for improvement.
- Carmen (10/5): - I like the location the property is neat. Perfect for walking around it's in the heart of the city.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Great location but tiny place. Sheets and towels were in washer upon arrival and contact person took 3 days to respond to questions. Not a bad place but I’ve stayed in much better for less.
- Carlos (10/5): - I liked how new the building is and the view that we had. I didn't quite like that the internet connection was not the best.
- James (10/5): great for what i needed - i would stay again
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Access to unit was not available as described. Three emails generated no response. Eventually we had to phone and the unit was unlocked remotely. No instructions or manuals were provided with the television and our attempts met with repeated notices of no service/connectivity. Too bad - great location.
- MrT (8/5): - There was an allocation mixup as only on the THIRD attempt did I get a free unit. Unit 4602 was locked, then I was told to go unit 1112 in same building but it was occupied, then they sent me to unit 905 in the next building.
It was a studio not a 1BR.
But overall OK
- Verified traveler (6/5): Below standard room - I booked a room with a sofa bed and a queen bed. When I arrived, the room I had booked was not available and I was given a tiny room with only a queen bed. This was a major inconvenience for me. The whole experience felt underhand as we were repeatedly told not to speak the concierge staff but they spoke to us when we entered so we had no choice but to speak to them. I checked in at 3.30pm and in the evening my husband received a call at home to say I had not checked in and said the person was rude and demanded that I call them back. Luckily my husband knew I had arrived safely and was not worried. I would not book here again.
- Cynthia (6/5): - The pullout was more like a cot with a thin mattress on it and the bathroom light did not work. Check in was messed up because I was given the incorrect apartment Number.
- Ron (8/5): - Overall it was a clean property, I LOVE the location, the condo was clean and comfortable and checking into the condo was very easy once you follow the instructions. It was a very nice stay.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - upon entering the suite we were given the wrong suite, number 14 (via email), so the room we entered was not fully furnished, cupboards were opened & messy. we called hotels.com and they were able to contact the property owner and proceeded to tell us that he gave us the wrong room details in the email. It was much of a head ache to head back down the lowrise elevator, to wait another 20 minutes for the highrise elevator to the 46th floor. Overall, there was much of a confusion at the beginning. & i believe the suite wasn’t what we expected for the price we paid.
- Norrah (8/5): - Location wonderful. Maybe have better directions for dealing with garbage and stuff in the condo, great location for anything sports related. Raps. Leafs. Concerts. CN tower. All within a stone's throw
- Verified traveler (8/5): - wonderful location, clean, spacious, perfect for 3 people/ 4 if your friends are thin.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Clothes in washer and dryer made it feel weird. No wine glasses. Location was good.
- Mervin R. (10/5): Location, location, location... - This property is an excellent location; close to major sights, shopping, subway and train lines, and the harbour. Very nice and modern building with a fantastic view of downtown. Would definitely stay here again!
- Verified traveler (4/5): - It’s okay if there’s only 2 of you staying.
The sofa bed in the living room was broken so my daughter had an uncomfortable night. Also the blinds in the living didn’t close enough as there were loads missing so the lights from the building opposite shone into the room all night
The window frames were really dusty
- Verified traveler (4/5): - I did not like that there was no front desk and how there was only security. They also left the key in the room for you to get when you got there instead of handing it out at the front desk. There was poor communication and no one knew for sure what was going on.
- Laura (8/5): - Excellent location. Close to all major tourist sites and amenities.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Close to entertainment. However, the customer service for Lavish Suites left a lot to be admired. Terrible communication, wasn't able to access the property as instructed. No toilet paper (left us with a 1/3 of the roll). Very dirty carpet in bedroom.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Communication was great throughout the experience. However the unit was very dirty- sticky/dirty floors, stains on couch, wet towels folded in the linen closet, soiled paper towel in fridge to mention a few concerns. Balcony door does not lock. Great location to event venues, secure quiet building.
- Allison (2/5): Bad hotel, worse customer service. - I ended up leaving right away and did not stay. As soon as we walked in, we sat down to watch tv and noticed the tv was broken. Upon calling right away, I was accused twice of breaking the tv. Due to the rude customer service, I left and got a new hotel.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Where do I begin? First, the phone number we were supposed to call didn’t work and the door wouldn’t open. We followed someone in and when the front desk asked us our reservation number, the only number we had in our reservation didn’t match theirs. They finally allowed us in. Now, let’s go to the broken hard as a rock couch that hurt your back to sit in because it was so lopsided. And when you tried to turn it into a pullout couch, it fit a toddler. Most of the electric outlets didn’t work and you couldn’t even plug anything in because there was some plastic backing preventing us. Then there was the garbage can that was full to overflowing. The soap in the tub was a combination of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash that smelled like men’s aftershave. The carpet was dirty and full of stains. There were marks all over the walls. The blinds were broken and you couldn’t open and close them. The peephole wobbled back and forth. The whole place looks as though it were built in a hurry by unskilled labour. Also there was a note in our reservation telling us not to contact staff that made us deeply suspicious. Is this an illegal suite?I would never stay here again. I just came with my teenaged son to visit my other son. And my back is still aching. I want to relax when I rent a room, not need to go for physiology afterward.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location. Affordable parking close by. Clean.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Only sleeps 2, not 4 as advertised. - Great that it was so close to Scotiabank arena. Not a good choice if you need two beds as the sofa bed is three pieces that were not connected and unable to be connected so the pieces moved around and were uneven. Also not suitable for laying on if you're tall as arm to arm is very shirt. The leather had a section covered in duct tape.
We were told to blow up and use an air mattress, not what we wanted to sign up for. Under the couch was filthy dusty and stale popcorn. The queen bed was comfortable and linens were fresh. If it's just a couple staying, it's manageable. Customer service was very poor as I was told, "it's not a hotel" when I wanted someone to come and try to fix the sofa bed. They said the cleaner would come have a look, but no one ever showed up.We made the best of it, but disappointed.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location close to Union Station, food and Roundhouse Park. Clean, modern apartment. Instructions for getting into the building need updating (the code didn't work and I don't think
- Verified traveler (2/5): - lavish suites no good ,curtain all missing ,shower towel no one come change it,tv can no open ,toilet cover is damaged.
- Alfredo (4/5): Broken furniture - Supposedly for 4 people but furniture that called as sofa bed is broken and not even good enough to use as bed. My kids ended up on the floor. No proper beddings. Not even a drop of shampoo. With the charged amount an inn is probably way better.
- roger (6/5): - we like how close to everything the property is. That being said they need to learn how to host. There was no soap in property, the fridge barely cools anything, the A/C does not go into bedroom even when doors are open is very hot in there, the was one broken towel, one sliding door wasn't working, the balcony was filthy and so was the toilets bottom part.
- Mike (8/5): - Entrance code did not work-had to piggy back on another tenant to get into the building. Construction blocked entrance I was directed to. Television did not work and it was difficult to reach someone for assistance.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Very good location - near to Union Station, Harbourfront, and the CN Tower. However, disappointed with the maintenance of the property - it was clean enough, but many of the slats in the bedroom and lounge blinds were either broken or missing. As this was the only privacy provided from the floor to ceiling windows in both rooms, this is not good. Also, the sliding door to the bedroom was not well maintained and had a tendency to fall off its slide mechanism.
- Mel (8/5): - Recently went to Toronto for a concert along with three other friends. Instructions on check-in process was very clear and easy to follow. The only concern we had during our trip was that it was difficult to contact the staff, in which they see to only be available to call during day hours. Additionally, the staff member who answers the calls only is able to address general booking/check-in instruction inquiries as they are not owners of the apartment suites. We had a sofa bed that was not a double size and could only have one person sleeping on it but couldn't solve the issue until the morning after. The apartment owner was very kind and brought in an air mattress for us. Overall, good place to stay in downtown Toronto!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The location was excellent in the room was well appointed
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Home away from home. The room has all the amenities we needed, as you can see when you browse. We could bring our grocery items home. Longo’s across the street, food, beer, wine. you name it, they got it. I hope we can book here next time. The room was pristine, contact with Lavish Suites was prompt. 10 out of 10. Thank You Lavish Suites. Rick
- Rob (10/5): - Location, location, location just perfect. Great value
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Central downtown, Easy access. Convenient perfect for one week stay
- Mark (8/5): - Great place for a quick stay
- FANNIE (8/5): - The suite is nice. Check in was easy. The location is great within walking distance to CN Tower, Union Station, and the Aquarium.
- Steven (8/5): Typical cheap office blinds are annoying. - Office blinds are never a good sign, 1/2 a dozen blind slats missing from cheap blinds lets too much light in. Loose fixtures ie. Metal plate on front door, plate around shower fixture, a couple of light bulbs burnt out/ missing, no dish towel to dry dishes, need 2nd set of sheets...easily fixable things would make for a more comfortable stay. No response from "Lavish Suites" regarding these issues during stay. You're on your own if there are any problems...their phone box was full, couldn't even leave a message. No response to emails during stay. Would return, hoping for a little upgrade to unit in the meantime. Good locale.
- k. (6/5): - is there a reason why only 50% of light bulbs are working?
- Verified traveler (2/5): - THE ADDRESS DOESN'T EXIST AND THE PHONE NUMBER WAS UNAVAILABLE. I GOT SCAMMED
- Chris (10/5): - Needed a place to crash for the night after a Leafs game - couldn't be a better location!
- shannon (10/5): Great location! - We loved the location! It was clean and comfortable. Affordable and walking distance to all the best shops and nightlife. I highly recommend staying here.
- Sharon (10/5): - We loved the location, practically across the street from Union Station and though it is a small condo it is well-appointed and comfortable. Next time we'll take some breakfast supplies, maybe, though the station is so close we went there for breakfast in the food court and then read for a bit before catching our train home.
- JACS_13 (10/5): - Amazing place.Close to everything we needed, right in the heart of downtown. Great atmosphere! Very clean and tidy.
- Kimberly (8/5): - Very nice place, close to a lot of good nightlife.
- trevor (10/5): down town toronto - awsome location condo was clean eerything we needed
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The location was great, that’s it. The alarm beeped every 3 mins couldn’t shut it off. Drove me nuts all night long. None of the lights would turn on in the morning? I think it was set to energy saving and guests can’t alter it. I thought this would be great because it was cheap but... too cheap. Let me use a light in the morning.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The view was beautiful and quiet. Easy check in and out.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Everything turned out great, check in was super easy
- Verified traveler (8/5): Location, location, location - Great location blocks from Union Station, Rogers Center, Air Canada Center, Metro Toronto Convention Center. Small - so good for one person or a couple - but well supplied with kitchen (basic cooking equipment, place settings, oven, stove, microwave, sink, fridge and freezer) bathroom, bedroom and small living room (TV w/ cable, internet). Would stay again
- Paul (10/5): - This place was walking distance to everything downtown and the waterfront. Easy access to shopping and bars and restaurants. Basically across from the Scotiabank Arena and Maple Leaf Square.
- Tikwood (8/5): - It was really close to Scotiabank Arena, Rogers Center and the Hockey Hall of Fame. Everything was in walking distance.
- Jenny (10/5): - My daughter and I had tickets to a concert. The location was perfect and the set up was ideal. I enjoyed the emails I received with instructions in lieu of dealing with front desk staff. It made my daughter feel like a Torontonian to have our own little apartment for the day. We will definitely utilize their services again!!!
- Sacha (8/5): - Excellent location, blocks from the CN Tower, Rogers Centre, & Scotiabank Arena
Easy check-in & checkout
- Bob (8/5): - Condition was very good except there were missing slats on the window coverings so you couldn't get complete privacy.
- Francis (8/5): - Toronto was a fun location. The suite was fine. Good location. Nice view. Perhaps they could upgrade the quality of the bath towels. Would use again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Amazing location - Walking distance to everything you could want to do in downtown Toronto. Check in instructors the day before the stay were thorough and easy enough to understand
- YU-TZU (10/5): Great - Very nice service and really clean
- Patricia A (8/5): Small space, but enough for my needs - The unit was clean. No service because it is a condo, not a hotel.
I'm used to a dark, quiet room to sleep in, so I found it difficult to sleep with the low level traffic noise and light coming in the windows because of poorly designed window coverings.
Also, the bedding had an overpowering scent, at least for me because I'm allergic to scents, so sleeping, for me, was not a good experience.
Otherwise, location was great for my needs, the other people living in the building were quiet, common areas were clean.
If it weren't for the issues I had with light, scent, low-level noise, it would've been a good place to crash after a long day of conference talks.
Yes, I did let the owners know about my issues.
- Timothy (8/5): - It was good. I didn't get the email about the deposit they asked for, but it turned out to not be an issue. There wasn't any parking available at the building I stayed at, but there was parking available nearby. The room was clean and very near all my destinations and reasonably priced. It's not a proper hotel so the front clerk won't know what you're talking about when you show up so be sure to answer and/or return the phone calls to get the room information. Recommended.
- Anand (6/5): Ok stay - First the good ones- prime location, downtown Toronto very near to major attractions, pubs and restaurants etc
Now the not so good ones- the condo really needs a facelift. The curtains were all coming out, rooms needs paints, small enough to cater to a small family(1 child) and not 2 (as it was in our case).
Otherwise it was ok.
- Enrique (6/5): Lavish suite hotel - The location was great , the condo was ok. Overall it was fine, but little things like a clean fridge and stains on the couch would've made a big difference.
- Gregory (8/5): BNB like place - The bedroom suite was very nice, but I was expecting housecleaning and a few more amenities like soap, shampoo, and ice. All in all it was a nice spacious space and great views.
- Edgar (10/5): 50th escapade - Excellent location
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not bad - They gave us the broken toilet. We stayed for 2 nights but they fixed it at the last night.
And some parts are needed to repair such as wall, floor.. etc.
Location is great very close to CN tower and Union Station.
and the view was amazing.
- Crystal (6/5): - It was nice but would rather have the comfort of a nice hotel !
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Perfect location. Room is great.
- Verified traveler (6/5): wifi not working for 3days - kitchen applier and washer & dryer were good.
but shower curtain was dirty.
wifi was not working
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excelente, close to all the attractions. Clean and confortable bed.
- Michelle (8/5): - Room was sufficient, bedroom had missing shades, with construction on another building right near the windows. The walls in the bedroom were marked up and not a fresh clean look. The missing of multiple shades in the bedroom and living room left zero privacy.
- Paul (8/5): - I was very pleased about the location and price. We came to learn from from the people we were visiting and from locals that the building we were in has a reputation of being like a “frat house” and party central. Our unit was clean and quiet and was without incident. Our host was very conscientious and thorough with instructions. I hope a good thing isn’t ruined by others. I saw all kinds of large international family groups with excessive amounts of luggage navigating the elevators. I’m surprised the residents, security and the city haven’t clamped down more on the practice. Again, I’m happy my that host was very thorough with instructions prior to arrival. Our stay was all good!
- L (10/5): 14 York Street - Convenient to ACC, Blue Jays, the Tower or acquarium. One or two people would be very comfortable in this unit. And at a considerable savings compared to hotel pricing.
