- Paulina (1/5): Horrible. - Location I found 4 big spiders in the room, the hotel sent someone with a broom,but he didn’t kill the spider (my younger son and Me are super afraid to spiders) and the staff didn’t care about it! Then they sent someone again with a “Raid” and all the room was with a toxic odor..even worse. I’ll never come back or recommend this place. And the Front desk staff doesn’t look that understand English.

The staff was so friendly - that was the best thing about this stay! We will stay here again when visiting San Jose downtown! The blankets were thin, so I do recommend to bring your own blankets - and possibly even your own pillow if you are a picky pillow person. Also, make sure to bring your own hair conditioner, as what they offer is conditioning shampoo and not so great for hair that is long and tangles easily. Also, the downtown nightlife noise is noisy! until about 3am! Be prepared to hear it!

Cheapest hostel in Paris with breakfast option had it much better than Clariana. Entry doors are weird. The front door is closed after 6 pm I think, and the side doors are not that easy to open. Elevator is super slow. Bathrooms are very old.

- MARTIN (7/5): It was a decent stay. - It was close to everything. The elevator was broken, so we had to climb stairs to the 3rd floor, but the attendant helped us carry our luggage up to our room.

- Julia (6/5): Kind Staff, Run Down - I want to acknowledge that the staff at Hotel Clariana were very kind, helpful, and informative. Unfortunately, I will not be staying here again. Hotel Clariana is described as a boutique hotel, but that is not accurate. It is quite old and run down, and has more of a feeling of a motel than a boutique hotel. The doors are locked both for entry (which is standard) and for exit (which seemed odd). They really try to make it a nice experience, but little things like no hand soap in the bathroom (just a travel size of body wash), no door on the closet, and old windows that are beautiful but let in a ton of noise make it a less pleasant experience.

The shower had used toiletries left by the last guest. The TV did not work at all. The parking is only in and out until midnight, and then the lot is locked. Overall, the stay was just Ok.

However, the city of San Jose and the area around the hotel is unacceptably dirty and full of homeless and drug users. So extremely disappointing of a downtown with an institution of higher learning just blocks away. What is city government doing to keep students safe?

The staff was all Asian, and nobody knew how to open up the door, nor did they want to call the fire department to get us out.

- Verified traveler (4/5): Last resort hotel - When I went down for breakfast the front desk attendant was stirring the water with a stick. The frozen breakfast (food poisoning alert) was left out with no directions & staff didn’t speak English. At check-in I asked for credit card for incidentals. Turns out the $100 they hold, they are really taking for the $20 parking that’s not mentioned. There is no light above the shower so it’s pretty dark if you get the 2 queens rooms.

- Gabriel (10/5): A gem of a place - What a great find! I've definitely spent a lot more for a lot less. The front desk staff was friendly and welcoming, with fresh baked goods, fruit, & coffee. The room felt clean and fresh with plenty of amenities. Little decorative touches around the property added to the ambiance of what could have easily looked like a basic Motel 6 if not fir the obvious care of the owners. We were just passing through for the night, but I would definitely stay here again if I were visting the area.
- Joaquin (1/5): It was terrible for only being there 2 hours!!!!! - I didn't stay one night at all, sheets had stains, towels had stains, cracks in the support columns. We left after 2 hours of having been checked in, we were afraid of the building collapsing and getting some sort of illness, parking lot was not secure at all. I told the manager that its fine if they charge us for one night but would want a refund for one night and check out, still waiting Everything!!!! Sheets, towels, feeling safe and parking I dont know how they pass inspection, they are certainly paying someone off.

- Denis (4/5): - The staff were nice, but there were two big issues with my stay. The first one is that the Wi-Fi just didn't work at all in my room, or my floor for that matter. It was perfectly fine in the lobby and gym but not my room. The second and much bigger issue is that my room's safe didn't work. They got someone from maintenance over, but didn't fix it so I had to carry my passport and wallet around all week.

- RPF49 (10/5): Nice stay - 2 night stay, comfortable, great location for my attendance at the Fountain Blues Festival a few blocks away. Reasonably priced. Amenities of mini fridge, in room coffee, 2 free waters per day & microwave. Fast free WiFi, good TV selection. Complimentary continental breakfast with lots of items. Free parking if you make reservation directly with hotel and not a booking agency.

- Julio (10/5): To summarize, it's nice, safe, comforting, and provides the resources you need. - What I love from the hotel experience was that the room was really comfortable and it felt like a home that you can go to, it provided so much relaxation and I'm honestly wanting to go back. The only thing I didn't like was the TV having some issues when it kept saying "No signal" that was it but still worked most of the time!

- Craig (4/5): - This “boutique” hotel, which we stayed at pre pandemic, needs major updating. The room had central air but we had to use a big box in the corner. When we arrived there was a quarter of a roll of toilet paper and we had to ask for more. The soap, hair products and body lotion are cheap. The TV is ancient and the remote volume did not work. We did not get two waters a day as promised and we had to ask. On Saturday I came back at three pm to do some work and the room had not been made up. Not what we expected
