Guest Reviews
- David (10/5): - Excellent position, 5 minutes from Union Station and the harbour front
- Mark (4/5): - This is not a hotel. It is a condo in a high-rise building. Parking two buildings over at $$. No TV, coffee but no coffee maker, no towel racks, no toilet paper holder, one bath towel and no hand-towels, kitchen, etc. A lamp broken. Contact made with zero response that evening.
- William (2/5): - The room was not refreshed from previous person. Bed undone and used towels all over. Open alcoholic bottles on the table. Disgusting. Eventually moved to a different building. . .but no follow up. Asked for some compensation or reduced rate. Never head back since.
- Meseret (10/5): - Great place to stay
- Timothy (2/5): Bad experience - I would not recommend even though it is priced cheaply. TV didn’t work, requests to fix it didn’t get completed. Bed was uncomfortable. Bathroom needs a major overhaul.
- Yarubi (8/5): - It is a private appartment very close to union station. super well located
- Jana (10/5): - Great location with everything within walking distance. Easy check in and check out.
- Megan (2/5): - I thought I was booking a hotel room in a hotel.
This is not a hotel. This is a condo. And staying at the address booked isn’t a for sure thing. The address on the booking was 14 York street and what happens is they message you the morning of your booking with your “confirmation instructions” and will change your address to a different location. Luckily for us it was only moved to 12 York street.
But we had actually used a different online booking site to book a “hotel” for the hockey game a couple nights before this booking. We didn’t realise, but it was for the same address as above but the “hotel” was called a different name on the other website. When we went to check in we didn’t read the instructions as we had no idea the booking address would be changed. They had moved our booking address to somewhere 30 minutes away in the city. When we had booked the location it was because of its proximity to the hockey arena. When we rang them confused they said because the email was opened that was us confirming / agreeing to the address change!!? We were stuck on York St with our bags having to cancel that booking. It was rush hour and trying to get our car out from the underground to drive to this new location would make us late for the start of the game. We had to pay thru the nose for a last minute Airbnb that was in the same area for the night. They snuck an additional $85 cleaning fee as well. So much more that I can’t fit into this word count.
- Andrew (4/5): - Very odd set-up. Not a 'hotel'. Its a short-term rental in a condominium. Property was clean but rundown. Furniture was dated and on the cheap-side. No network TV which was a bummer if you wanted to catch the news. Didn't like the fact that the vertical blinds were missing many panels so those across the street always had a clear view into the apartment. I solo female would not be comfortable I suspect. I'd stay again in a pinch, but not a top of the list option.
- michael (4/5): - very tired place. needs a complete update.
- Carl (10/5): - Clean and easy to rent
- Paul (10/5): - Toronto hi-rise. Good water-front view and of Billy Bishop airport.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not as we expected - I did not receive any check-in information, I had to call the host through the app. Also, you can't take the elevators up to your room without the fob key, you need the fob to go get your key in your room. The room was missing baseboards and the curtains were not holding up right. The owner should give the place a little bit more love.
- Jennifer (10/5): - What a great little condo and well located. You absolutely couldn't beat the price, ever!!!! I was pleasantly surprised with the find. Thank you for our stay. I will certainly be a repeat customer. Cheers!!!
- Jeff (10/5): - Great place
- Joseph (6/5): Low cost - low value - Pluses- Convenient, near harbor area, arena, restaurants, transit. Decent view of the city (faced away from the harbor.) Priced reasonable for location. Bed reasonably comfortable. Building has security and underground parking $$.
Minuses- Everything broken, lamps, towel bar, TP holder, tables, chairs, curtains & screens, etc. Dirty halls, floors, tub, windows. Not much in kitchen stock but dishes and pans. Couldn't get the TV to work. Dog barked next door 24/7.
That said, we were there two days to sightsee, dine out, and go to a show, so the apartment served us well enough for sleeping. If you have very low expectations this place will do.
- Hasmik (2/5): - This place was extremely old, especially the bathroom ever thing was falling apart, chipped and decaying. The bed was broken. Would not recommend to stay here at all.
- henok (2/5): - I have a complain about my reservation Expedia please contact me my email samygghi@yahoo.ca
- YANG (4/5): - Overall, I had poor experience during my stay. I will not use this place again for the following reasons:
1. the place is very noisy because it is close to the highway and busy street;
2. it is difficult to check in and the owner is not helpful during the process after sending the initial 'welcome' text message;
3. the room's facilities are not well maintained - broken toilet seat, no towel hanger bar in the bathroom, broken shampoo expenser etc.
- Eric (10/5): - Looking back, it was a great experience.
Very close to the conference my colleague and were attending. We expected one bed but when we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised to find two queen sized beds. Very comfortable. Highly recommend this suite.
- Chris (10/5): - It was nice, clean, what you would expect from a nice place. Also nice that it's close to tourist activities if people choose to explore them.
- Joelle (8/5): - The place is good. Near of all ! Thank you!
- Chantal (8/5): - Great place to stay to watch some jays, everything is walking distance to where we were going. Staff was great! Host also dealt with a problem right away!
Great place!
- Vilma (8/5): - It was nice and close to major attractions that we could walk. Parking was a bit confusing. The apartment looked a bit worn, missing baseboards, wood scuffed, paint scuffed. I wish there was seating for the balcony.
- James (4/5): - Room was in awful condition
- Cameron (4/5): - Tv wifi didn’t work, lots of lights didn’t work . Toilet seat broken ETC ..
- Peter (8/5): - Clean suite and building. Central to Union Station and Rogers Centre.
- Sara (2/5): - Please do not rent here!!!!! I was really disappointed with the property and Expedia. They charged 5 star rates for a -5 star service. For the amount of money we paid for the property, we paid for location with the bare minimum amenities. The location was great and the front desk were absolutely helpful. But that was it! I never received an email with the property access information, with Check in being at 3 and we started calling the property manager around 4 and after multiple calls and e-mails, the property had to call him for him to pick up the call. He gave a lame excuse about how he had been busy with work. After we were finally granted access to the property, At first glance it looked great, but then we saw multiple issues.
1. Property was not as advertised. Pictures show multiple picture of different units. Absolutely misleading.
2.Bathroom towel rack was broken and missing parts.
2. Holes and Multiple chips and broken molds around the base and ceilings.
3. Broken window blinds.
4. Bedroom lamp bulb was hanging by the wire.
5. No coffee, tea bags, or some sort of welcoming . Didn’t bother to restock.
6. The bed sheets were clean, but the bed comforter had a weird smell.
Over all it was very disappointing. I paid a lot of money for a location in the downtown area only for it to be subpar. I was better off going to the Fairmont hotel the next block over and just paying the small difference .
- Eugene (8/5): - Confusion at start. But great stay after stay.
- Tommaso (4/5): - This condo is pretty run down, towel bar falls off the wall, washer dryer closet door was off it’s hinges and tucked into a corner, floor lamp had no switch, so had to plug and unplug to turn it on. Tv didn’t work because there was no cable to attach to cable box, etc. parking in adjacent office building, no parking provided, was very expensive, especially because it was baseball weekend, so add extra for event parking. Location is inconvenient unless you are there to watch one of the sports teams, otherwise prepare for long delays driving to or from your destination. Unit facing gardiner expressway, very noisy
- adham (2/5): - Regret booking this place
I had to get another hotel
What a waste of $ 500
I expected more from a site like Expedia
- Grace (2/5): - Not as advertised.
- Michael (2/5): - adjacent room had barking dog and room was tired adn warn down
- Todd (4/5): - The location was great, view and bed was wonderful but for 600 dollars a night the place was in rough shape . The check in time said 3 and i couldnt go up in till 4. The toilet seat was broken , couch was old and stained . The air conditioning wasnt working in the room with no window so it was hot . Mirror was broken in one bedroom and was unsafe . The washer and dryer seen better days also. It was definitely a party building because people didnt stop all night .
.
- Christina (4/5): - The room was spacious and the view was nice. However, it was very dirty, as if it hadn’t been cleaned…well, ever. The bathroom was gross, toilet barely flushed, kitchen utensils were still dirty in the drawers.
- Yves (6/5): - Great that you can walk to facilities downtown.
Condo was clean.
Television didn’t work.
- Victoriano (6/5): - Hard to figure out where to access the property checkin. Booking did not match actual address.
No pre - arrival instructions.
I had to text to get instructions.
Missing amenities
- tami (8/5): - It was fine! We stayed there while we went to the Jays games. Everything we needed was in walking distance. I would stay here again
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Not what I expected for $400 a night. Door lock was loose, toilet paper holder was broken off the wall, tooth paste gobs on the mirror, no top sheet on the bed, walls were chipped, curtains didn’t close all the way and were missing slats. Wasn’t impressed with the cleanliness at all. Wouldn’t stay here again.
- Scott (6/5): - It’s basically a very basic un maintained condo. It’s not bad but not great either.
- Gregory (8/5): - I stay in the building quite regularly. Well located but building is mediocre. Unit was clean. Beds comfortable. Location is awesome. Condition of actual apartment 7/10. Great value for money. Nothing to be concerned about. I’d book it again.
- Jessica (8/5): - It was a great stay 10/10 would do again.
- Rayan (8/5): - I stayed for two night. The unit was convenient, clean, quiet, has easy access. The location is excellent, everything I needed was a walking distance.
The host was polite. It is a bit expensive but looking at the building’s location it’s reasonable.
I will recommend it to family and friends .. and I will gladly stay there again
- gianluca (10/5): - Very nice place, clean and well furnished.
- Jerry (10/5): - I had full suite to myself comfortable bed. Good view and very good location .
- Lorenzo (10/5): - Perfect location walkable to Rogers Center for Blue Jays game.
- Richard (10/5): - 1 block from the train station and the convention center. 5 blocks from the Lake. Owner was responsive to request to get in early. Very easy entry. Unit was very comfortable and had a great view in 3 directions.
- Ravi (2/5): - I couldn’t checkin due to some property issue.
- Greg (4/5): Frustrating - Booked last minute same day, however, I did not receive check-in instructions until 11pm.
therefore had to make other arrangements and paid for two rooms.
Overall, very frustrating.
- Lance (8/5): - It ok
- Clare (6/5): Good location, some issues! - This apartment is in a good central area. The price was reasonable for Toronto and overall we were happy with it. However, the arrangements for getting a key are not easy. The security guards are not helpful as they have nothing to do with the rental and only having one key was difficult. The bathroom was not very clean and the towel rail was loose. It was very hard to close the balcony door when I opened it to take a photo. The apartment needs maintenance as does the front door of the building which says ‘use other door’ and the intercom which says ‘do not use’.
- Steven (10/5): Modern clean apartment downtown - Great apartment in the heart of downtown. Great view of Lake ontario from the 45th floor
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I arrived and the person that needed to give me the keys was not there. I asked the front seat if they could call him, I was given attitude by the front desk security, I was told to go to the suite and see if they would open the door, iAd to walk around with my bags, my dog, and 6 months pregnant belly. Finally the person that was supposed to meet me at the lobby answered his phone and I was given a different room because I had a dog, even though I said I needed a pet friendly hotel room.
For the price I paid, I expected to be treated with more respect.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good location with easy access to subway station
Good size
- Verified traveler (8/5): Pleasant stay, great location - The location of the apartment is perfect, next to Union Station and Scotia bank centre. Everything you need is near by. The apartment is nice and comfortable for two people with a separate living area to the bedroom. The kitchen is not fully kitted out, a few missing essential items which would just have made cooking breakfast alot easier such as knives, utensils, tea towel etc but we improvised! However there are extras such as hairdryer and iron There was some difficulty finding the apartment as no details provided (the building is not called Aaira suites). If instructions could be given for directions and details like wifi, it would be even better and saves a number of phone calls ( particularly from an international phone).
Overall, a pleasant stay, the location is definitely the best.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Convenient location - Great for trips to the convention centre
- Lynne (10/5): upscale downtown - loved the location and scale
- James (8/5): Condo Stay - Great location. Need to be proactive in contacting rental agent in advance of stay. Needed information about checking in, keys, amenities furnished, etc. Agent was very responsive to my questions. Grocery store across street. Union Station near so easy to get to and from airport.
- Bill (8/5): - Location is superb. Bedroom a bit cramped. Good view. Coffee maker but no coffee
- DAVE (10/5): - Clean,
Well located
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great location - In nice new apartment block at bottom of York street, good location near CN tower and union station. Good choice of channels on the tv. Apartment could have been cleaner, we needed to use the sofa bed but all the bedding had been put away damp so had to dry the sheets ourselves. Would have also been useful to have a pack with details on the apartment, we had to ask for WiFi code and also would have been good to know if we could use facilities downstairs. Other then that good apartment in top location for sightseeing in Toronto.
- Max (10/5): - Sparkling clean. Very short walk to Union Station, Scotiabank Arena and environs. Small but well-equipped and functional. Excellent mattress.
- David (8/5): A great downtown location! - This is the perfect location if you are going to a concert at the Rogers Centre. On the down side, the towels were still wet upon arrival, and the check-in was an experience. Other than that, though, the place was very nice. It was a convenient location to many restaurants and venues.
- Michael (4/5): - Nice close to the rogers center but nothing like they make it sound and so many things needed to do to get to the room which just feels like someone apartment. A huge fight broke out i. The lobby and no one was allowed outside while a very loud alarm was going off for about 10 minutes at around 11pm
- debbie (8/5): - Great location but for that price should have had coffee supplied for Keurig for first night, as no restaurant.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Excellent location - Could not find parking garage and then had difficulty getting in building. Kept calling and given more instructions. Then had problems with TV. Finally asked if they could just come and show us how to work it. The air conditioner did not go below 22 Celsius and when it's 35 Celsius out. It was hard to sleep or get ready in a.m. The unit was loaded with fruit flies and carpets were in desperate need of cleaning. Overall unit worked out well in long run and was a great location. Do prefer having someone help you at checkin.
- Verified traveler (8/5): location - excellent location, felt safe and secure, apt was starting to look a bit run down, would go back for sure
- Bob (4/5): Not a hotel!!!! Beware. - This is a condo unit sub-rented. Expedia is NOT clear on this. You MUST read confirmation fully and call and check in before you arrive. Only contact number is small print in confirmation. No front desk No parking. No place to unload. Front door on busy street. Hour to check in and then carried luggage for 10 minutes after finding parking. Security at front door NO help at all. No check out info. Only thing I could do was leave key on table and walk out leaving unit unlocked. Unit was nice but way too much hastle and no cheaper than anywhere else with full service.
- Verified traveler (8/5): it was ok - It was a nice location. the walls were dirty and clothes hangers and linen on floor in closet.
- Kathy (10/5): - Great location in the heart of downtown. Very clean
