- Olwen (8/5): - A stately hotel set in picturesque grounds. Some ares are slightly dated,and characterful, but the rooms, lounge and dining area were all comfortable. The bedrooms had plenty of sockets, big fluffy towels and there was lashings of hot water in the bathroom. The staff were excellent, friendly, helpful and had a good sense of humour. We had evening meals and breakfasts. There was a good choice of options and staff were helpful in keeping the breakfast buffet topped up. Unfortunately there was mizzle when we were there, so we didnt get the best of the views

Man fühlt sich in diesem Hotel von Anfang an wohl. Der TV im Yimmer könnte wirklich ein wenig grösser sein, das ist aber wirklich kein grosses Manko.

When they sent receipt to me by email saying hayloft. Self catering and breakfast not included this came as a surprise...suggest you read their adverts??

Lovely dinner and good cooked "Cornish" breakfast. The fried eggs were put on a plate so hot that they continued to cook and were no longer runny. I even burnt my tongue on the egg about 3 minutes after starting my breakfast.

- Melanie (8/5): Lovely staff - Lovely welcome and the restaurant staff were so friendly. Room was very comfortable and we had everything we need (except a working plug in the bathroom sink?!!) The only thing we’d like the hotel to think about is the lack of vegetarian options on the dinner menu. There was no vegetarian option printed on the menu - chef did provide something very tasty but there was only one dish available and so we didn’t eat there again after the first night. Location is great for visiting a student at the uni and very quiet, beds very comfortable. We preferred it to the Merchants Manor and will return.

- CHRISTINE (9/5): - Arrived to a lovely welcome from Tasha and taken to our room overlooking the garden. Good size room and large bathroom with separate shower. All the staff were very helpful and friendly and our dog Charlie made lots of friends. Good breakfast with plenty of choice and a special mention to the chef for a fantastic afternoon tea all freshly made.Nice beaches close by with good facilies. The four poster bed needs a new mattress as it was lumpy and very squeaky . Lovely property and gardens but very much in the middle of nowhere. However the staff made up for these small complaints.

There is no shelf to put ones sponge bag or things on. No shower gel, shampoo or conditioner just hand wash and nowhere in the shower to put it except the floor. No instructions for TV. I expect a teenager would cope.

Good carpark. Very basic room and rubbish tea/coffee offering for the price. Mould in the shower and tray discoloured. Awful dog smell to welcome you at reception & I love dogs! Possibly the smallest TV I’ve ever seen.
- Clare (7/5): Despite the above, we had a lovely stay, the staff were super and friendly. - We liked the location, plenty of space to park, lovely large garden, dogs welcome, staff lovely, room super and modern shower 1. The car park needs a good tidy up. As it is the guests 'first impression' it should be a much more impressive area. The areas around the edges were really untidy. I got the impression that, whilst the gardens on the 'front' of the house (which is on the other side) are maintained nicely, this side was forgotton about. The borders are in a poor state, all the old vegetation needs to be cleared out and others pruned. It wouldn't take long to do and would make such a difference. First impressions matter and can make a huge difference. 2. The house is very dated and needs a jolly good re-paint. In my view, any old dated pelmets should be removed. Also, the big painting as you come down the stairs is very odd and not at all in keeping with the house.

Lo staff però si è impegnato a trasferirci in brevissimo tempo in una camera più confortevole anche se non all'altezza del prezzo. La colazione è stata davvero scadente sia come qualità del cibo sia come offerta...il bagno davvero fatiscente.

Staff are all lovely and very helpful. Food, we only did breakfast and can say the food was excellent. I had room 20 which was part of the annex adjoining the old Manor House, was spacious and kept exceptionally clean and stocked up with fresh towels and tea, coffee and milk by the staff. TV in the room was tiny, no excuse in 2025 not to have a reasonable 32-inch plus smart tv in every room. Location, access to Falmouth isn’t as easy as it looks, the first two miles out of the manor hotel towards Falmouth is typical narrow Cornish roads. Taxi is expensive into town and bus service stops 6pm.

The gardens and view are beautiful and the exterior of the house is gorgeous and unique. The surroundings are very quiet and it's a very peaceful place to relax and spend some time. It's also dog friendly, which is a plus! Some may say that the interior is slightly dated, but we loved that about it, it felt very nostalgic and it's sad that hotels such as this are becoming a dying breed.
