• Mario B (10/5): Comfortable, Affordable, Secure Stay! - My first stay in Hotel Marela and it was a very comfortable stay. Its not very large but I liked their setup. Kind of cozy and quick to clean the rooms. The beds and sheets were very comfortable and very secure. It offers a pretty good breakfast and a great transportation service. It is l Located in an area that is upscale and lots of restaurants nearby

• Hugo (10/5): - This properly for our family was excellent location. For shopping, dinning, and for sightseeing. The hotel was very nice. The only negative would be the air conditioner next to our room was a bit noisy. I got used to it and fell fast asleep.
• Emeterio (2/5): - Originally we were suppose to stay April 8 to 14th but only stayed for one night. There was no hot water in the room the first and only night that we stayed. Also in the morning there was no hot water. The restroom faucets had scale buildup, restroom was dirty. Clerk said she couldn’t refund my money for the rest of the days that were already paid. We didn’t want to deal was the hassle with rest of the days, so left.

• Yaroslav (10/5): Wonderful hotel - What an amazing stay we had at Marela hotel! This cute little hotel is located in a perfect location, with restaurants, shopping and points of interest all within walking distance. Staff is extremely friendly, professional and helpful. Great breakfast every morning and overall very clean rooms. Hotel has a beautiful sitting area with a pool. Housekeeping crew does a great job every day of freshening up the room and overall maintenance of grounds. One small comment i would make is that since floors in the rooms are tile, it would be nice to get them refreshed as well. Could not imagine a better stay. Thank you Marela.

• Amilcar (10/5): Very Good - best location - We had a large group, they were in an international mission, Hotel Marela proved to be the right choice. The cost-benefit is unbeatable, you get a good comfortable room, excellent location, security, amenities like a pool, and room service. The hotel is up to any international standard. Breakfast was a plus, good amount, great taste.

• Alexandra (8/5): - We very much enjoyed our stay here and will be back. It was safe- the staff was beyond kind and helpful. Food was clean, fresh and delicious. They made some items by request when needed. There is parking. Room has a good size fridge, tv, hairdryer, iron and board. Beds were clean- albeit mine was a bit hard, but the other bed was more comfortable. The pool was lovely and clean. We used Uber and things felt a bit far... but not sure what would be considered more 'central' and have as many amenities. the other guests were friendly. My daughter became sick one day (not related to hotel)- but staff were kind and helpful. Why 4 stars? ... would have liked a night light next to bed- and there was some remodeling/floors being lifted just out in the hallway- so had to walk by fresh cement a couple of times. Also a couple of tiles were missing of the bathroom wall. Overall a lovely stay and happy to recommend.
• Gustavo Martinez (4/5): - el hotel y sus instalaciones no estan relacionadas con el precio de casi 90 dolares que pague. no tiene restaurante, nos dieron un cuarto que no tenia ventanas, no tienen medidas de seguridad y por no tener un cintillo en el piso para decir que existe una grada que no se nota, me he caído y golpeado las rodillas y mis manos y brazos. el desayuno no fue de la calidad debido y finalmente deje mi carro parqueado a la orilla del hotel porque no me ofrecieron parqueo VIP.. Solo el senor botones nos atendiendo bien bajando y subiendo nuestras pertenencias.cuando hice el ckequeo de salida, le dije a la señora que me habia caído y ni se inmuto. solo dijo que se pusiera como un queja.

The front desk staff, security guards, cooks, and cleaning crew was fantastic. Breakfast was excellent. Swimming pool needed some cleaning but it was nice. Overall experience EXCELLENT.

• Evelyn (10/5): - It is very well located, the hotel staff is super attentive, especially Mr. José who attended us on our arrival, the area is very safe and guarded by security personnel, the only thing I found is that the hotel needs some maintenance, in areas such as the pool and the dining room, (the furniture, lamps and appliances look very worn) In the room there are some brochures that indicate that there is a map of the city in the reception, I asked Carlos and he said that he does not remember having seen no map there, so I think it's convenient to paint at least one with the places in that area, for example; supermarkets, pharmacies, shops and churches. Also, now with the pandemic, the Hotel Marela is giving away a discount coupon to get tested for Covid-19, the laboratory conveniently located in front of the Hotel with excellent customer service. I was very happy with my first visit to Salvador, people on the street say good morning even if they don't know you, people are very nice and friendly.

Washroom need a lot of improvement, rusty areas. I asked for extra towel and the front desk agent try to charge me for that . Dark and poor maintenance. Not recommended.
• Josh (10/5): Quiet and comfy 3 nights - Great hotel in a safe location. Plenty of shops and restaurants close by. Much nicer than similarly priced hotels in San Salvador!

My only complaint is that They have the staff doing lots of different jobs so sometimes the security guard is not at the front desk and you have to wait outside to get in the property sometimes 15 minutes sometimes 20 minutes especially if the security guard is prepping a room or taking people to their new room, etc. Covid restrictions are very good. People wear masks consistently and there are not too many people at the hotel. The breakfast is excellent. The cleaning lady is also the one that prepares breakfast! Overall a very good experience.
• Verified traveler (8/5): - It is an adequate hotel for working. The internet is very fast and table and chairs are fine to use. There are a few good options for food including a Chinese restaurant, a pupusa restaurant, and a taco place, in addition to a mall. The location isn’t so close to the tourist area though taking a Uber it isn’t that far. Breakfast tend to be repetitive and not super healthy. Staffs are nice and try to be helpful, though not every front desk staff speaks English
