- Rowena (10/5): Authentic Japanese ryokan experience in a quiet town - 10/10. The most authentic Japanese experience for us for our 12-day stay in Japan. Loved the ambience and the food!
Lovely experience and memories in this place. Ryokan type big room with clean-smelling tatami mats. It had a dining and sleeping area, spacious cabinets (where all our luggages fit), and a private toilet and lavatory. Our room had a view of the beautiful garden with koi pond. There were two hot baths and shower rooms that you can book for private use. We were also provided with yukatas and Japanese type warm coats.
They served traditional ryokan keiseki meals. And the FOOD was excellent!!! We booked for two breakfasts and one dinner.
The place is run by a lovely and hospitable family who also prepared all our traditional Japanese meals.
We went to two nearby places where we had a wonderful view of Mt Fuji at sunrise. It felt magical. We stayed for two nights. We would love to go back and stay longer next time. None. We loved the place and experiencing the place.

- 0ced452aa22c73528b5047f80f892ef2 (10/5): - This is a lovely inn with beautiful traditional Japanese rooms. The owner was so friendly and helpful and gave us great suggestions for where to get beautiful Mt Fuji views and dinner options. The breakfast was amazing, so mamy dishes and completely different the 2 mornings we had there.
- c5979c8407f271068f1bc44677340c25 (10/5): A true japanese inn experience. - This ryokan was amazing. A very homely feel to it, with the mum, son and i believe grandad running it. The outside garden was just beautiful, the room was amazing, felt like you have stepped back in time, and get a sense of the real Japan. The dinner and breakfast was incredible. All the detail gone into each little dish, the way they're placed, and presented. Such an experience to try meals, traditional Japanese style, booking this is a must! The hot bath was refreshing and wearing the yukata was a nice experience. A short walk from the bus stop, strongly recommend this place! Nothing

- Tasaka (10/5): Worthwhile and The precious to our memory core - The serenity of the place and feel at home vibe Nothing, everything I like

Extremely satisfied! The place is elegant, cost-effective, and clean. We even saw deer when going out! The staff were very considerate. When my child had a fever of 40°C due to the cold wind at Lake Yamanaka, they provided tremendous help: 1. Drove us to a supermarket several kilometers away to buy medicine; 2. Gave us a separate room so we could take care of our sick child without disturbing the elderly; 3. Actively asked if we needed assistance with meals due to the child's fever.
- Jana (10/5): We went to Yamanaksko for Fuji sighting and were very satisfied with our stay - Very nice traditional little hotel. Owner is very friendly and hospitable. He even took us to a Fuji view point at dawn. In the evening, he drove us to a restaurant and back because the one nearby was booked out. Next time we would choose the option with meals, the table for the other guests looked great. -

- Ergun (10/5): - Very helpful staff, we did stay for one night unfortunately, if we could stay another a night it would have given us the opportunity to rest and enjoy the surrounding area some more. Very peaceful and tranquil, the Hippopo boat ride was fun.
- Mattia (9/5): -
- Pająk (10/5): Very good place for an onsen and Fuji trip - I really like the feeling this place gives, it’s location and the staff. Owner is probably the friendliest person I have met so far and very eager to help. Very good food too.
- Graydon (10/5): - Super fun place, very traditional. We had some trouble finding it as the provided address wasn't exact. The manager spoke some English and was very helpful. We had to postpone our hike to mount Fuji because of a storm, but the manager offered to drive us to a view point after the weather cleared up. He also offered to book us a shuttle to our next destination. The included half-board was great! Awesome place in a small little town.

- Noor (10/5): - The traditional way of things, the wonderful breakfast and the view of Fuji in the morning.
- Takako (8/5): -

- Yuki (10/5): - This property was the best Ryoken hotel I've ever stayed at! The manager helped us get to Kawaguchiko station to start our hike on Mt.Fuji and provided us breakfast to go ❤️! I recommend this place over any other if you're looking around the area to stay. Thank you for all that you do, we appreciate you!!!!
- George (10/5): Exceptional -
- Linh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrew (10/5): Out of this world! You've got to stay there. - The breakfast was amazing - different every day & delicious. More food than I could manage & I have a good appetite. What a fantastic Japanese breakfast!
The room was styled as a traditional Ryokan room - huge & very comfortable with an amazing view of the garden & pond out of our window.
Our hosts were so kind, friendly & helpful, recommending places to visit & locations for the best pics of Fujisan. I can't recommend this place enough! Nothing.
- Ling (9/5): Superb - Both breakfast and dinner were excellent! The host was generous of the quantity of food offered to guests.
- Rudhayaini (10/5): Exceptional - A very small and rustic inn run by a lovely family. They also gave us some recommendations on where we could get some amazing views of Mt Fuji.
The rooms are simple and even though there is no private bathroom, the inn offers two communal baths with onsen which can be locked for private use. We had no problems using them and there was no waiting as the inn only has about 4 rooms so the baths are not always packed.
The meals were probably the best Kaiseki meals we had during our stay in Japan, with a lot of variety and seasonal dishes. We would highly recommend anyone considering visiting the Mt Fuji region to stay at the inn and experience a quiet and authentic getaway from the tourist crowds. We also had the best views of Mount Fuji during sunset from the little lake (Yamanakako) which was a short walk away from the inn. Can’t say much. Everything was great!
- Anna (10/5): Best stay near Fuji and Yamanakako lake - We had a wonderful stay at the hotel in Japanese style. Nice room, lovely breakfast and a delicious dinner.
The privat bath was hot and relaxing. The hotelowner was very helpful and he even took us on trip around the lake in the morningbto see the sunrise over Mt Fiji.
I really recommend this place and would love to come back.
- Jennifer (10/5): Cozy place with amazing food 👍 - I really enjoyed my stay here - great location and amazing food! It’s family run business and they were all so kind and helpful. I got there early (2 hours before the regular check-in time) but they let me in and helped me with my luggage. The room was very spacious and overlooking the beautiful garden. I was so impressed with the food!!! Both the kaiseki dinner and breakfast were delicious! Everything was so fresh and tasty. I highly recommend taking the meal option. It’s close to the lake and public transit, so perfect for a traveler without a car. I’m definitely staying here again next time when I’m in Yamanakako. Nothing
- Mai (10/5): Very good stay, worth every penny - Very clean and cozy family run hotel. Both the dinner and breakfast are amazing and impressive. The bathroom is good for relaxing. FYI. The google map direction is wrong, the hotel is just 2 mins walk along the path you can find to the left side of the station. No
- Sarahi (10/5): Perfect experience in Yamanaka - Perfect location, only 3 minutes walking from bus station to Kawaguchi/Tokyo and Yamanaka Lake itself. Hotel is not brand new, but very clean and well maintained. They are ran by family of 3 with no employee, and so the experience felt exclusive.
We ordered dinner (which was Kaiseki style) right after check in. At the beginning they said there was no time to prepare. But later they said they could, and even accommodated our no-pork diet restriction. We paid 3,500 yen/pax, which was very worth it! If you feel like eating out at night, the breakfast looks like mini Kaiseki itself so for experience you won't miss anything.
They didn't provide bike, but Yoichi (the son) offered to drive us to closes bike rental station. Sadly it was cancelled as the weather wasn't very good that day, so we didn't explore Yamanaka a lot. In many cases it would disappoint us, but here the hotel ambience well compensated it. We were happy spending time at the hotel, and of course the massage chair in common room was very nice.
Really recommend to visit if you want to experience staying in traditional tyle Japanese room. Nothing really
- Yu-hsiang (9/5): with warm hospitality and very nice meals (both dinner and breakfast) -
- Kevin (10/5): - The place was beautiful. The owners were also extremely friendly, they offered to drive us to any restaurant in the area if we didn’t want to eat at a place within walking distance. Breakfast was also delicious and traditional. They also helped us get a bus reservation to our next destination and drove us to the bus stop. Highly recommend!
- Wendy (10/5): Clean and lovely traditional Ryokan with awesome food - The owners are fantastic cooks! This is the second time we came and mainly for the meals! The helpful Host showed us a video on how to debone the fish during dinner. Breakfast has been wonderful too. There is a small but beautiful garden right by the building. Take lots of lovely ig photos! Room and bed is clean. Though the weather is cold, the heater and air conditioning in the room is cozy for the family. the lake is walking distance away. View of mount Fuji can be seen by the lake. Parking is easy. Nothing.
- Clayton (10/5): Exceptional - Scene outside with zen garden
- Hongfan (10/5): - The location of the hotel is a few minutes away from the lake and the bus stop. The owner is extremely friendly and helpful. He took us to a few spots to see MT Fuji when he knew we have no car. Both dinner and breakfast were incredibly delicious and we had authentic Japanese cuisine experiences.
- Patrick (8/5): Agréable et pratique - Belle étape
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Authentic Japanese room and half board food experience.
- Marco (10/5): Fantastic ryokan with very friendly owners and beautiful lake with a great view on Mt. Fuji - We spent four days in this beautiful ryokan. This is a typical Japanese hotel with big rooms, futons and veranda space to enjoy the view of the garden. Our host and his family were exceptionally nice and helpful. They tried to make our stay as comfortable as possible (even providing us with coffee in addition to the Japanese breakfast). The owner speaks English and took us by car to see Mt. Fuji from different view points. He was extremely nice and suggested restaurants and other amenities and he even drove us there in a few occasions when it was possible for him. We had a lovely stay and felt like we belonged there. The ryokan is a little old but that adds charm to it. Thanks to all the family for their kindness. If in the area, we would certainly visit this ryokan again. Everything was nice. A real Japanese experience!
- Marco (10/5): Great stay. I enjoyed my time in the Ryokan. - The owners were very friendly! The dinner and breakfast were great. The location very close to public transport and to the lake. Everything was great, no complaints at all.
- Yu-hong (10/5): As a frequent traveller, this is probably in terms or quality, price and service, one of the best hotel I’ve stayed and - Clean and near the bus stop.
Dinner and Breakfast was fantastic
The owner was extremely helpful and even drove us the next morning to see Mt. Fuji Only thing I wish it has was a shower in the room.
- Dhananjay (9/5): Excellent family-run home stay near the bus stop. The breakfast is incredible value for money! There’s a 7-11 nearby and -
- Anna (9/5): Superb - Very nice ryokan stay! Very good location, close to bus stop and short walk away from Lake Yamanaka Perhaps a bit overpriced
- Ayana (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lay (10/5): Convenient location - Clean & convenient location Nil
- YUJIA (10/5): - It is a very lovely homestay - super yummy food (they must have a chef), very kind and helpful host, very chill and comfortable environment. We feel welcomed and well looked after. My son enjoyed it so much, he fed the fishes in the garden multiple times, and also feed the swans at the lake, at the recommendation of the host grandpa!
It's not a luxury hotel, but definitely worth every penny you pay.
- He (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tay (7/5): Good - Very traditional japanese room. The scenery is very nice from the room sight. Overall still ok. The spa was not hot in the morning. Inconvenience location. Only 400m walk to a convenient store.
- Ah (9/5): Superb - Owner speaks pretty good English
- Amihud (10/5): Amazing - Fantastic stay , helpful , beautiful place , great location , amazing public bath . 100% recommend
- MIN CHI (8/5): -
- Ochgerel (9/5): Superb - good location and good garden some workers / his child/ relationship was bad
- Paul (10/5): A great experience of traditional Japanese living. - Family run Ryokan with a beautiful Japanese rock garden. Yo, the son speaks good English and was more than helpful. As it was a quiet time he transported us to see local sites, recommended local eateries and himself prepared excellent traditional Japanese food. Fabulous hot tub room included in the stay.
- Mary (10/5): allergy friendly and amazing - Beyond amazing! The owner doesn't speak much English, but he went out of his way to make our stay amazing. We arrived a little outside the check-in hours, but they stayed up for us and kept one of the large baths open so we could wash up in the onsen-like bath before bed (it's customary to shower/bathe before bed and the owners stay up to close-up the large bath/onsen at night. So it was really going above and beyond to keep the bath running for us when we came in so late). I also have wheat, dairy, and fish allergies. They were able to accommodate these and made an amazing breakfast! I wish I stayed longer b/c the food was divine! They also let me feed the koi fish and took us on a short tour for the best views of Mt Fuji. It's an older ryokan so the room has a tatami smell which is common, but some foreigners might not expect. But I very highly recommend staying here!! They are so kind and helpful and the accommodations were great!!
- Mok (8/5): Very caring host who took care of the details, asked thoughtful quesions and had useful suggestions. - Great breakfast
- Daniel (10/5): Accommodating staff, great meals - Meals were so tasty!
- Zhan (8/5): Very good - The hosts are very welcome and helpful. When the weather was bad, he offered us to the station and gave us a detailed tour of the hotel. Great place for that price range. A little bit old property.
- vincent (10/5): - Tres bon accueil.
- Huan-cheng (10/5): Exceptional - The owner and his family were super welcoming and friendly. The place looks a bit old as the business has been running for a long time, but for us that's what a traditional Japanese inn should be like and thus it was just great. It's a few minutes walk from the lake as well. The hot bath was a big plus after a long day outside during winter. The food was amazing!
Better to check their website for more information and contact the owner directly to make a reservation :) The futon and pillow were a bit hard for me, but that was a minor thing.
- Natthakij (9/5): We will back again next trip for sure - This is second time to stay here i feel host of this property take care and very kind for my family food very good both dinner and bf No
- Pablo (9/5): Superb -
- Shi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elena (9/5): Superb -
- Thomas (10/5): - Authentic Ryokan experience, amazing food, very attentive host family and a beautiful garden. Highly recommendable.
- Lung (9/5): Excellent family run ryokan, great value for money - My second time stay here. Family run hotel, the hosts treat me like their friends. Drove me to scenic spots to view Fuji. Dinner and breakfast were delicious and plentiful. Excellent value for money No hot water in the bedroom water basin. Water in the public bath too hot
- Kan (10/5): Exceptional - Dinner&Breakfast very nice
Beautiful garden
- Bas (10/5): Quiet, traditional, homely and kind stay. Huge recommend! - The property is beautiful, with a real homely feel. You feel as if you’re visiting friends! The rooms are traditional, comfortable and clean with lovely yukatas and jackets to use around the facility.
The food is wonderful! Such huge attention to detail. As westerners, we had to go into the meals with an open mind but everything was delicious and the lovely host helped us with some videos on how to eat certain things.
The staff are incredible, they’re so kind. We had some problems with our bags being left behind in the UK and the lovely host couldn’t have been more helpful with the problem.
He so suggested plenty of things to do in the area that we hadn’t heard of. So great!!
- Jean (10/5): Exceptional - Great localtion,nice food,friedly host,beautiful garden.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Wonderful experience at a family-run ryokan. The perfect way to round out our 2,5 week Japan experience. Many thanks to - Lovely, family-run accommodation on Lake Yamanaka. Rooms and facilities were comfortable, and the family staff were always accommodating, and quick to offer advice, assistance, and tips for our stay.
- Benjamin (10/5): A great place to relax in Japanese style - Our time at Teiensaryo was incredible! It's a family-run place and they were incredibly generous with their time and other gifts. The onsen facilities were well-equipped and easy to understand.
The highlight was definitely the room. The view over the garden and koi pond was unmatched - I even got to feed them! Highly recommend. Cheers from Australia 🦘 It is a little out of the way, but that’s a feature as much as it it’s a bug.
