- Linda (10/5): I’d go back!!! - The receptionist Neetvar was extremely helpful. I had a SERIOUS airline situation and she helped me get in touch with the airline to straighten it out. I chose the small single room and it impressed me how they used the small space to make it not feel small. The breakfast was exceptional. For me, it was difficult to find. My phone was out of charge so I ended up asking 5 different people for directions.

- Rogerio (9/5): Positive Experience - Good Value and Quality in Zurich - Spacious room by European standards, very clean, breakfast of good quality and variety, staff attentive and helpful. Location was great - close to most amenities and to Zurich HB which simplifies travel to other cities using the world class train system in Switzerland. Will definitely stay again if I return to Zurich. A bit expensive, which is to be expected for Zurich but still provides good value comparatively. Also, it was surprising to find no Nespresso machine supplied in the room.

- Mark (10/5): Friendly staff, convenient, clean, lovely room, and a good breakfast! - Location was amazing, just on the edge of the Old Town and very quiet. We were extremely lucky as we got an upgrade as it was a quiet time and the room and space was exceptional. Breakfast was very tasty but European buffet standard so not a very large selection (compared it to buffets in Australia/SE Asia etc) but more than enough, and what was there was great! Staff were amazing! Very friendly and helpful, and always had a big smile and welcome whenever we walked by. Location is also only a few mins walk to the station. Nothing!

- Andreas (10/5): Für ein Shoppingweekend in Zürich die richtige Wahl. Wir kommen gerne wieder. - Das Hotel ist toll gelegen, in Fussdistanz zum Bahnhof. Der Rezeptionist war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Man hat uns kostenfrei Karten für das Kunsthaus zur Verfügung gestellt, was wir gerne genutzt haben. Man darf ruhig auch mal sagen, dass alles gestimmt hat. Wir haben nichts zu meckern.

- Anne (9/5): Cozy and modern rooms - Very clean, modern, comfortable room, with a nice shower. It’s airy and light and we faced the courtyard so had no street noise (it’s on quite a busy road). The breakfast was ample and delicious and the staff very warm and helpful. It’s also an easy walk from the train station. Overall a great place to stay a few nights. I will say that it’s an old building and you can hear everything in the hall (so when the neighbour across hall gets home you definitely hear it). So if you are an early or late sleeper that’s something to keep in mind. It’s also a little hard to get taxis bc they want to, and also by mistake, come to the street below (you need to take stairs to that), rather than immediate street. But it’s still a very cozy, comfortable, and beautifully modernised hotel. Great option in Zurich.

They were also kind enough to upgrade us for our honeymoon and have a little surprise, which we really appreciated. 🧡 Just a small note: it’s near the train station, but you do have to go up some stairs on the other side but There is a ramp available near the stoplight on the other side though. Other than that, we had a really good experience. Not the property but the pillows 🤣

- Holger (4/5): Ok for a one night business trip. A disappointment for breakfast, staff, and ambiance. - Clean. Modern. Not much else. The room had the charm of a monk’s cell. The restaurant was closed at 8 pm. The staff was incapable to the point of not knowing how to open a new wine bottle and not knowing where a bottle opener would be in the bar. The « excellent breakfast » for which I booked the hotel was not even average by Swiss standards.

PS they have great bath towels !! I personally found the decor a little sparse and cold looking....the hallways too...kind of like a college dorm . The shower was one separated by a curtain and got the whole bathroom wet. We were not allowed to use ac so we had to keep the window open and ended up with a lot of bugs in the room.

- Carolyn (10/5): Great stay in Zurich - We thoroughly enjoyed our four night stay at Hotel St. Josef having been greeted in a warm and friendly manner upon arrival. We were appreciated being placed in a spacious, clean and well-presented room. The bed was comfortable and the included breakfast offered a variety of choices. The hotel is in a convenient location being within walking distance to the old town and the HB station. If following map directions for the walk from the station, ignore the set of steps and walk a little further on to near the traffic lights and make use of the ramp which is less challenging with luggage.

- steve (8/5): A nice, comfortable and well located hotel. I'd go back to this hotel. - The hotel was well located for train station, walks along the river and general city experience. The room was clean and comfortable but it was on the top floor in the attic where I had a tendancy to bang my head off the sloped areas of the roof. My wife requires gluten free food and at our first breakfast this was forgotten about despite me advising the hotel 3 months in advance. This said however, the issue was swiftly rectified and our second breakfast went without a hitch.

- Fabio (10/5): Excelente estadia. Recomendo. - O hotel é excelente. O quarto é ótimo, com um bom espaço, limpo e organizado. O atendimento foi muito bom, nos dando diversas dicas sobre locais para visitar e almoçar/jantar. O café da manhã é variado, com tudo muito gostoso. Por fim, a localização permite visitar os principais pontos turísticos a pé sem nenhum problema. Não é algo que não gostamos, mas é um ponto de atenção: apesar de ser próximo da estação de trem, o deslocamento com malas precisa ser pensado, pois tem uma pequena subida para chegar ao hotel. O hotel manda as orientações certas para percorrer o trajeto (por uma escada ou rampa), mas se estiver com malas pesadas, pode ser um pouco trabalhoso.

- Marcos (1/5): Péssima gerente - O hotel é muito bem localizado proximo a estação. Uns 10 minutos de caminhada. O checkin foi muito positivo, a recepcionista que nos atendeu foi muito gentil e atenciosa. O quarto era confortável e espaçoso. Pontos negativos do quarto. Nao tem smartv. O ar condicionado nao esta disponível ( foi informado pela recepcionista). O quarto pega sol durante boa parte do dia, entao fica muito quente dentro. Desliguei todo aquecimento quando entrei no quarto pra não ter dúvidas. Nao ter o ar condicionado disponível é bem ruim. O café da manhã é razoável, comparando outros hotéis na Suíça. No check-out fomos super bem tratados. Nos informaram que poderíamos deixar nossas bagagens porque nosso voo seria apenas final do dia. Quando retornarmos pedi para a recepcionista ( que foi super gentil) se podíamos sentar no terraço do bar com as malas para organizar umas compras que recém havíamos feito. Pedi uma cerveja para justificar o uso da mesa. A recepcionista concordou e chegou a buscar a cerveja. Nisso veio outra pessoa, presumo que fosse a gerente, e nos disse que poderíamos ficar sentados no terraço apenas pagando, e que a cerveja que havia pedido deveria ser consumida na rua e nao no local. Eu nao falo alemão mas a linguagem corporal que ela teve com a recepcionista e com a gente foi tremendamente desrespeitoso. Pegamos nossas coisas e ajeitamos nossa bagagem na calçada em frente ao hotel. Um desrespeito enorme para hóspedes que pagam um valor considerável para uma diária. Infelizmente nao saberei dizer o nome da funcionária em questão mas as outras 3 pessoas que nos atenderam anteriormente foram muito gentis. Elas mereciam nota melhor.

I had to open my windows at night to cool down the room but that made the room much more noisy and did let in cigarette smoke from the street bellow.

I would stay there again. I was on the first floor and couldn't leave the wiindow open. That is not the hotels fault. I should have requested a room on the second floor or above.

It was a bit too warm in the room and I wasn't able to work out how to adjust the central heating system (it was also a bit loud when it was on), but opening the window at night solved my problem.
