RichardTwinch (10/5): Quite retreat in Coyacan away from hustle and bustle of Mexico City. - Location excellent. Charming. Beautiful courtyard. Quiet. Safe. Good small restaurant over the road for breakfast and lunch and another for evening meals. Easy to find. Good access to Frida Kahlo and Coyacan markets etc. There was a dining room - but nobody explained how to use it. Quite a bit of building work going on - so not clear who was controlling access - a bit ambiguous.

Linda (7/5): Great location. Helpful staff but property not in line with cost. - The location and staff. It was overpriced for the quality of the property. The floors were very loud. The bathroom a long distance from the bedroom. Compared to other places we’ve stayed for this price, not well maintained. There was no water pressure each morning for showers. They got it back on each day, put points off for that. Breakfast was supposed to be included but we paid 600 pesos extra each day that we ate there.

Hilary (8/5): Funky old house with spacious rooms in the heart of Coyoacan. - Funky old house with a spacious room and a beautiful open garden. Great location in the heart of Coyocan. Clear check-in instructions with a helpful staff member. Our shower didn't work at all -- a small drizzle that was hardly enough to wash our hair. It was a little confusing who was on staff, and how to get breakfast or help if needed.

The hotel is beautiful, unusual, and very clean. A very intimate, personal experience! The staff was incredibly helpful in making arrangements for us, and we especially loved the cooking class that was held in the hotel's kitchen. A very special stay!

Eleanor (6/5): It was fine for one night, but i’m glad we didn’t stay any longer. - The apartment was in a good location, and very spacious, with a comfortable bed. Though we didn’t use it, there was access to shared kitchen facilities. Staff were responsive and helpful. The apartment was much more dated than expected, with very creaky floors, which woke us up in the night. It also did not feel hugely secure - with only a thin wooden door that could easily be forced open without using a key.

Nothing looks like the pictures hotel and rooms are old and smell like humidity and have bad air quality. We couldn't sleep due to the smell an bad air quality in the room. There's people drinking on the hallways, staff is not professional. Bad shower, curtains don't work everything is old and not well maintained, the properly and the rooms are not well cleaned. I could go on. There's nothing nice about this establishment and certainly is NOT a boutique hotel. I Asked for a refund and they didn't want to give it to me so end up staying one night. It ruined my Mexico trip please don't make the same mistake.

Véronique (10/5): Excellent séjour - Outre le fait que le logement est très bien situé à quelques minutes à pied du centre de Coyoacan, on peut accéder depuis la chambre au patio central et à la cuisine. Nous avons pris un dernier café en soirée dans le patio, et nous avons déjeuné (nous avions acheté des pains la veille) aussi à la terrasse du patio le lendemain matin. Le logement est de style colonial, donc pour toute personne qui le visite, c'est une véritable expérience. Aucune remarque négative

Very responsive with questions via WhatsApp and offering suggestions. - The size of the room and the amenities accommodated my sister, my daughter and myself very well. There was a king and full size bed. There was plenty of furniture space/closet space to store our clothes. We never felt crowded in the room. The owners suggested doing a cooking class there onsite. I'm so glad we did! Chef Ricardo and Chef Aranza were amazing and we learned so much of Mexican cooking. We loved that Ricardo walked us through the local market to sample food and learn about certain foods with certain dishes. Going elbow deep into the culture. Highly recommend! The house is beautiful and historic and perfectly located. Walking distance to multiple restaurants, cafes, markets, museums (Frida Kahlo is five minute walk), parks. We loved the vibe of that area of Coyoacan. Quiet, older neighborhoods. It was the ideal location to stay! There was some street noise (cars/motorcycles driving by) at night that got a bit distracting. Especially on the weekend nights. But, it did seem to quiet down during the weeknights. It didn't hinder our stay at all though!

Ashley (10/5): The best little hidden place in Mexico City - This place is very beautiful and it is hidden behind a gate as is most of the places in Mexico so it’s very safe. You can also just hang out there if you want to drink or eat outside of your room. The rooms themselves are very beautifully arranged in terms of decor, and the beds and couches were comfortable. You have full access to a kitchen that you can use. They also let you request how often you would like your room cleaned, and they also provide water and glasses to use to drink or brush your teeth in the rooms. The staff was very nice and the massage we got was so good. There’s nothing I didn’t like about the property, although I think it would be nice if they kept a few heaters for people who are not accustomed to the cold since Mexico City can be chilly year-round.

JANET (9/5): Lovely place to spend time on beautiful Coyoacan. - Wonderful historic building. We booked a double suite, which was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful through WhatsApp and in person. We would definitely stay again. For some unknown reason there was no hot water when we arrived, but it was quickly taken care of, due to the attentive staff .

Nicolas (5/5): Room for improvement - Aurora is great she tried to help us with everything, and Breakfast was delicious. It's served at a restaurant across the street. We found cockroaches in the bathroom. We booked a room with three beds, one of them was as hard as a rock; it was almost impossible to rest. We were glad we only booked one night with them.
Matthew (10/5): Comfort and convenience in Coyoacán - Converted hacienda with rooms and off the central courtyard. We stayed in a king suite that was wonderfully comfortable. Very comfortable bed, lovely views to the beautifully landscaped shared courtyard. Perfect location to explore Coyoacán; blocks from the Frida Kahlo Museum, Mercado de Coyoacán, or the Viveros de Coyoacán. Supremely accommodating staff. Would stay here again without question. Nada.

Mary (6/5): Second room was great. - Great location, and our second room was lovely. The staff were able to move us when we pointed out the safety issues of the first room. Charming location in Coyoacan, two blocks from Friday Kahlo's house and the main parks/market of the neighborhood. Unfortunately, there were a number of safety issues with our first room. There was a significant amount of fuzzy, black-colored mold all over the bathroom walls that you could smell even before running the shower - at which point the smell became overwhelming. (The mold wiped off easily, so I'm not sure why the walls weren't just wiped down before we arrived?) We had to ask to move, and thankfully our second bathroom was MUCH cleaner - however, if they hadn't had another room open we would have had to scramble to find another place to sleep. Also, the light in the first bathroom (over the shower) was flicking off and on rhythmically, indicating an electric issue. Other small but not-terrible things to note: there's no one on site and communication is only through What's App (make sure to download it ahead of time and have internet or international minutes).

Andujar (8/5): Unique place, safe and quiet neighborhood. - It was in an amazing neighborhood. Close to many restaurants and in a quiet/safe area in Mexico. Aurora was always attentive and she would reply quick to any question. Love the uniqueness of this place. There was black mold on the walls in the bathroom and bathtub. Also, the bathroom shower head was very dirty. It needs to be clean better.

Audrey (1/5): To avoid at all cost - Nothing to like except maybe the location. This hotel is definitely not a 4 star hotel. The hotel looks really old, and doesn’t look like on the pictures. The staff is nonexistent. They are not on site and you need to text them 20 minutes in advance if you need something. The kitchen is really run down. The rooms look very old. There are for sure better options in the neighborhood.

Coyoacan is a wonderful suburb of Mexico City We arrived at the hotel, a cleaning lady (maid) opened the door for us and showed us our room. That was the extent of the staff. Never saw staff again for 4 days. The floor in our 2 level room was noisy, as it was wood that sounded like a 100 year old cabin in the woods. Absolutely NO CONTACT with staff. Did not feel like the hotel cared about their guests.

While it looked onto the street, the room was safe, secured, and quiet at night. Walking distance to all key attractions in Coyoachan. Friendly, prompt customer service.

Alexandros (10/5): A small boutique hotel in Coyoacan, very close to the Frida Kahlo museum - A small boutique hotel in Coyoacan, very close to the Frida Kahlo museum and the Coyoacan Market. There are also lots of lovely cafes nearby. I only stayed there for one night, but I wish I’d stayed longer. My room was actually a 2-floor apartment with the bedroom upstairs and the bathroom and a living room on the ground floor, facing a communal courtyard. Beautiful decor in the apartment and the communal spaces. -
Jo (9/5): ¡Perfecto! Great location, wonderful room and courtyard area. - Great room, very spacious, comfortable beds, clean, good shower, plenty of hot water. Wonderful patio courtyard area with traditional Mexican design and accessories, shady, sunny... just wonderful to be able to relax outside. The shared kitchen and dining room was also fantastic. Close to the centre of Coyoacán. We will definitely return. The room was a little dark.

Maria (10/5): Almost Perfect - This hotel is gorgeous and our room was clean, huge and well appointed. The bed was extremely comfortable, by far the nicest we encountered in our 10 days in Mexico. The hotel is in a good location. Close to many things, but on a quiet street. It's so close to being perfect, but we felt like they needed to take our room out of service for a few days to do some maintenance. The floor boards creak extremely loudly, enough to wake you up in the night if your partner is walking on them. There were a few other minor things too like outlets that weren't attached, etc. Also the wifi in the room was very weak. I was having to reconnect every 15-20 minutes. Lastly, they need to work on their communication. We sent a message to the hotel a couple weeks prior to arrival through hotels.com and never received a response. Also we were confused about what to do when we arrived. An email ahead of time with instructions would have been super helpful. Once we were there and checked in and had their WhatsApp info to contact them they responded immediately. Overall I would recommend staying here. It just needs a few tweaks to fully live up to its incredible potential.
Amie (7/5): Good - The courtyard is beautiful and inviting. The room was spacious and well decorated. The bed was comfortable. Close to Frida Kahlo museum and Parque Centenario. The floors were very noisy and there was an odor in the bathroom.
Helen (7/5): Very quiet quaint and comfortable - It was quite unique and quaint. Not quite what I expected from the photos but very quiet and comfortable. The fellow who communicated with us was very responsive. The bed was very comfortable It’s a little tired in parts. Some side lamps for the bed would be good and a kettle in the room rather than having to go to the kitchen would be good too. Also couldn’t find an ironing board but had an iron. There was some mould in the bathroom too.
Jessie (8/5): Comfortable bed and facilities, would stay here again! - It was walking distance from Frida kahlos house and Coyoacán centre! Good coffee and food at the cafe across the road. My favourite thing of all though, was the comfort level of the king size bed. The sheets were SO soft and I had 6 pillows to choose from!! The room was street facing so the privacy level was a little compromised by passers-by. And, unfortunately, some of the other guests slammed the front door when entering/exiting, which was disruptive. I would recommend that a note is put at the door to shut quietly out of respect for other guests. Also not sure about the “spa” aspect, didn’t seem to be any services available. In that regard.
Laura (6/5): Cute spot for people that don´t mind a little noise and enjoy the character of Coyoacan. - This is a beautiful but quirky space in a great location for seeing Coyoacan. The people were friendly and the decor is really creative and beautiful. I was traveling with 3 friends and we chose this hotel because it listed 3 beds. It doesn´t have 3 beds. It has two beds. Since the hotel staff was super friendly and there wasn´t anything to do at that point, I just decided to make the best of it and sleep on the couch, but the place was certainly NOT described accurately. I would also add that it was extremely loud. We were on an exterior wall and it was very loud all through the night. I am used to cities and don´t mind the noise, but if you expect a peaceful place to rest, this might not be the place for you.
