- bankconsultant007 (4/5): Heating unit caused electrical fire and filled room with smoke, hotel refused any compensation. - I checked in late and very tired after flying. I woke up few times to smell of smoke. I checked room but did not find anything at first. Hours later in early morning, I contacted maintenance to check out the smell of electrical fire which was now making me cough terribly. Left room for them to work on for almost 2 hours. Engineering was apologetic and said there were some parts from the heater that burned out. Had a mess in the room with dirty filters and even had to change the bed cover. Front desk apologized and said they would 'take care of my stay'. Weeks later I contact the hotel as no one ever reached out to me. Front desk now says because staying on discounted family rate, hotel policy does not provide any compensation. Ridiculous as people can get injured and even die from smoke inhalation. I was coughing all day and it taok a week to get rid of the stale smoke smell out of my cpap machine. This hotel does not seem to care about its guests or hotel employees. Nobody should be expected to pay to sleep in a room full of smoke caused by hotel electrical problem. I tried to contact the hotel manager but all I found was a job listings on Linkedin and Ineed for General Manager. I really wish the hotel would follow up on the negative reviews from irrate guests. After all, one of the job requirements under Guest Service is that: "Guest Experience Ensure the highest level of guest satisfaction by overseeing the implementation of service standards, personalized experiences, and swift resolution of any issues." Hotel failed miserably on all of these, especially by going back on their word of taking care of the situation.

- Jet65578303816 (8/5): I’d stay again - I stayed only for one night and checked in pretty late into the evening, so I didn’t get to see much of the hotel. From what I could tell, it seems like a decent place to stay. Front desk staff were friendly during check in and check out, and the room was fine overall. It had a fridge, iron and ironing board, ample storage, and cool ambiance with the mood lighting. My only complaints were that (1) the bathroom was freezing (possibly because it was next to a stairwell?) and (2) there was no lounge chair despite there being room for one. Otherwise, it was a fine hotel and I’d probably stay again.

Our car was broken into during our stay and valubles taken and our room was booked for 4 people with 2 beds and we arrived to one bed and were told we could not have any extra linens. - michelletZ2761TD (10/5): We were family! - What an outstanding location! We were able to park a block away and never use the car again. Easy walking distance to the Liberty Bell. We were impressed by the staff, especially. The nicest people, willing to discuss where to go and how proud to live in Philly. Then our room, wow, stunning views, comfy beds, hot shower, really done well. We saw so much artwork, everywhere you looked there was a cool installation. The atmosphere couldn't have been more inviting and exciting! We had breakfast at a sweet little diner around the corner and enjoyed the market where we each got the meal we had been craving. Truly the city of brotherly love!

We only stayed for one night. Upon arrival everything seemed fine and the bed was comfortable. In the morning my perspective changed after I discovered that the mattress cover was full of stains! The sink area and hallway were lack of lighting. I couldn’t see to put my makeup on. Of course I could have brought my own mirror and do it by the windows, right? No!

The hotel is very clean and beds were comfortable. Very close to all that center city has to offer including walk to restaurants and the Reading Market. Rooms are small. Beds proclaim to be Queens but seemed smaller. The staff were not friendly. The lobby is not very inviting. It was literally cold and also had a cold vibe. Honestly, I would not stay here again.

We got to the hotel an hour after check-in, so the room should have been ready. The staff was very nice but I paid way more than what the room was worth. My best friend just called me in tears, hyperventilating and sobbing, because a strange man followed her and her coworkers into the elevator and to their rooms. When they got into the elevator, they pressed their floor numbers and he pressed his. When it stopped at his floor, he did not get off. My best friend wasn’t staying on the same floor as her coworker, but she got off with her so she wouldn’t be alone in the elevator with this man. She noticed that he got off too and started following them down the hallway. He lingered for a while. Her coworker went into her room and my best friend got back into the elevator to go to her floor. She called her coworker to make sure she was okay, and her coworker said the strange man was outside her door. My best friend went downstairs to report it, and the worker at the front desk didn’t care much at all. He said he would have security “look around,” but she could tell he wasn’t taking her complaint seriously. It is disgusting. This is exactly why young women are so afraid of doing anything nowadays.
- tflynnuk (10/5): Excellent choice for center city activities - Stayed here on a brief visit to Philadelphia - we picked this hotel since it was close to the theatre we were visiting. The hotel is in a historic building that has been renovated, we seemed to get lucky as our room was on a corner - and was huge! It had windows looking in two directions, with views across the city and out to the local area. Everything was very clean and the furniture felt new. The bathroom was large with a walk-in shower. It felt more like a small apartment rather than a hotel room. We had a perfectly quiet sleep despite being in a busy location. You are spoilt for choice in the local area, since you can walk to almost anything. Reading Terminal Market is just around the corner. We also took a stroll to see the Liberty Bell and 'Rocky' steps which are both walkable from this hotel. I would recommend this hotel as a clean and modern option if you're choosing a hotel in center city.

- Daniel (9/5): - Tolles Zimmer mit tollem Personal. Es gab morgens gratis Kaffee und tagsüber immer Wasser. Der Mitarbeiter an der Bar war nicht sehr freundlich. Eventuell hatte er auch einen schlechten Tag. Er war sehr komisch, nachdem man ihm bei zwei Getränken für insgesamt 20$ nur 5$ Trinkgeld gab.

- GerryNI (4/5): Not a lofty experience - We stayed 4 nights at this hotel and had quite a mixed experience! On the positive side, our room was spacious, with a big and comfortable bed, good storage: and lovely bathroom. A real plus was the staff, who - for the most part- tried to remain approachable, patient and good natured. Sabaria' s arrival in our 2nd day, really began to improve things somewhat🤗The hotel is also centrally located, so relatively easy to get about; especially for walkers like us🤠 Finally, the 'complimentary' cuppa from early to midmorning was appreciated 🤗 In terms of negatives, this is where the hotel falls quite heavily; certainly initially! 1. The bedroom mattress was stained and the mattress cover dirty! We immediately complained and were offered 'a better room'. However, this was somewhat cramped and meant repacking and moving from the 4th to 17th floor. So we 'readjusted' the mattress and sheets, to make it more 'serviceable'. 2. There was quite a lot of dust in the room; and all the drawers had small bits of debris! We asked for these to be cleaned...and a 'cleaner' arrived with a facecloth and antibacterial solution to 'wipe the drawers in the outside'! So we ended up cleaning and dusting ourselves! 3. All the while (and hour!) we waited on the hotel supervisor to arrive to address our concerns, but never arrived. When I rang to discover what the delay was, noone seemed to know! 4. My wife is not a coffee drinker, so asked for a kettle and t-bags. She waited an age and finally was advised there's no kettle provided or available. She requested a cup of hot water and the kind William from Reception requested this from housekeeping. Another wait and 2 phonecalls later, William apologised and went and got her 2 cups of hot water, and brought these to our room. 5. While we understood there was construction work going on (wish we'd known before booking!), the Reception experience was very basic; though reasonably efficient. However, despite our stay including breakfast, there was limited information available as to how this worked, except 'come down in the morning and you'll be able to select from a Starbucks type menu'. - The following morning, we did and met chaos! We were asked to stand at the same makeshift Reception and order a hot sandwich basically. This was eventually brought to us, but only warm. - In the meantime,we noticed some cereal pots, juice, fruit cups, coffee, and tea; and asked if these were included? Yes, was the response, depending on 'our breakfast voucher '. We checked and it said $25. So we asked how much each item was, helping us to make an informed decision about what else to have. The Reception team didn't know, so we just had to muddle through. - My wife noticed there was a selection of t-bags, but no breakfast tea (or equivalent). The Reception team simply shrugged and said that's all they have! Jonnie arrived, heard this, apologised and said he'd find breakfast t-bags (although his female colleague insisted there were none, as the hotel didn't have these usually. Undeterred, he returned with several. - As is clear by now, we had a LOT of waiting to do, so tried the cereals. Imagine our surprise that there was no spoons! not any milk! Once again, we had to ask the Reception team; the female seemed irritated, but her male colleague was suitably embarrassed about yet another failing and hurried off to get milk.

- Elizabeth (4/5): Picture of front fake - Not good - The hotel is not at all what it looks like in the picture. That is not the entrance. The lobby was non existent (supposedly under renovation but I was told it had been 3 years) you walk in it is a table with a computer on it stool for the staff chair. Don't imagine you can get help with your bags. There is one guy who is moving/getting cars in/out parking lot as minimal room out front for multiple cars to unload. The printer doesn't work so don't even ask. It was dark narrow congested from lobby to elevators to hall ways. The staff tries their best based on what they are given. That is the best way of describing it. It all looks run down. The carpeting in halls and rooms worn and look dirty. Beds were clean. Bath looked clean. Minimal amenities. TV did not work initially they did fix it. Shades couldn't move so open all night with ambient outside light. One positive - good location. They should put a notice on their site saying under renovation and discount prices accordingly. I have stayed in other Alofts that were beautiful and nice. This one is a not and I would not recommend.

In making my reservation, there was no disclosure that the lobby was being renovated, and, as a result, we had no idea that there would not be access to a restaurant or the advertised outdoor bar area. Also, the air conditioning in our room (1307) sounded like a train was right next door whenever the fan was running. Really disappointed!

- Eduardo Nahuel (4/5): - The hotel was at works, the lobby was gone, so was the breakfast, which acording to Expedia was INCLUDED. The staff was helpfull, I can´t say anything negative about them. But I paid too much for a hotel at works, and the breakfast was INCLUDED at the website of Expedia and still appeared as such at the app when I cheked in. I mentioned it, but I didn´t protest much for there was no lobby of lounge to have the breakfast in.

- Rebecca (10/5): This was a fantastic hotel. I plan to stay there again many times!! - Everything! It was clean, and fun. All the games in the lobby were so enjoyable. The atmosphere of the building was perfect! When we ran the shower, the smoke alarm went off, which I think was a little inconvenient because it took a while for people to get up there and nobody on staff even knew the alarm was going off.
