- Alexandria (8/5): - The condo was and amenities were great! However, since we didn’t book directly with the resort, we were unable to change our 3 bedroom rental to ensure we had one room with two twins and had to pivot on sleeping arrangements with guests that didn’t want to share beds.
- Jane (2/5): - Where to start… My husband and I took our first vacation in years. Upon arrival, we were shocked to see that they were draining the lake. Nowhere on the website did they disclose that they were doing so. Had we known this, we would have chosen to stay at another resort. The condo was dated and dirty. The shower was cracked and stained. We found goldfish crackers under the bed left by another guest. Our sheets had stains on them so we slept on the couch. The porch light was burned out, we notified guest services but no one came to change the bulb out which made it very hard to see trying to get back into our room at night. Absolute waste of money. We will not be going back.

- Laura (8/5): - While it was a nice condo, it needed some refreshing at 24 years of age. The bathroom tiles were badly cracked. Fixtures were old. Bed and pillows were kind of sorry. There were to tables or lamps in the living area. Too bad if you’d like to have a glass of tea or wine, or a cup of coffee, while you read or watch tv.
- Donna B (10/5): - Loved the property. Should offer cook to order breakfast. My eggs and bacon were cold by the time I got from the buffet to the table. Most buffet breakfast have someone to cook your legs to order. That was my only complaint. Staff was great.
- Chris (8/5): - Check-in staff were very friendly and efficient. Condo, Wren 303, was clean and functional, but very dated. Locks are awkward. Faucets look original and very hard to use. Cupboards are old and warped. Kickboard under the bathroom sink is peeling. Meals in the restaurant were very good, but seemed over-priced. We had to pay a 20% gratuity just for the two of us. Restaurant staff were very friendly, though we were forgotten about a few times.

The grounds are beautiful but the management not so great if they stick people in condos with active construction going on.

- Clayton (10/5): Beautiful property! - Beautiful property! There are lots of amenities offered, but we weren’t aware that we were there during the “off season”. Be sure to check the seasonal dates. There’s an indoor pool & spa, and a good, but pricey restaurant open year around. We had a problem with the dishwasher & they sent a repairman quickly. We stayed in a 4 bed/bath condo & it was PLENTY room for our family of 7! Only complaint, there is no shuttle service from your unit to the main activity area.

Pool area needs upgrade; hottub no bubbles and Luke warm water. In summary great stay, would highly recommend.

The lighting is very dim ….hard to read by . Kitchen was fully equipped. Bathroom very modern and clean.

- Mary (10/5): - This is our second visit. Previously stayed in the lodge which was lovely. This time we stayed in a 2bdrm 2ba condo. Beautifully appointed and well stocked in the kitchen. Only suggestions: 1) include a step stool to get into the king bed. I am 5’1” and had to use a chair. 2) Check out at 10 am is unreasonable when we needed to have all the dishes cleaned and put away ( per printed instruction) and the garbage bagged and walked to the receptacle. I know the units must be serviced but there needs to be compromise if making these requests of guests on departure.

Luckily he didn't break anything but is bruised and sore. The bathroom sink was t working properly and kept getting water backed up. My husband fixed it temporarily and I told the person at check out so they are fixing it. Loved the mountain location but couldn't get food delivered from any restaurant in blowing rock or Boone.

After saying it had a wood burning fireplace there was no wood and no communicationconcerning this.No coffee, lights needed to be replaced and the Bed was unstable. All in all with communication from the property it could have been a nice stay,however,for the money it was very dissappointing.

That said, 1 of 2 parking spaces for the condo was blocked; a neighbor complained bc we used a space meant for another unit. Also, it’s a shame there are not walking paths bordering the road to the lodge. We would have liked to walk there but it didn’t feel safe by the side of the road. Otherwise, perfect stay and location!!

- Daniel (10/5): - The property is away from the main town which prevents foot traffic and noise. It is situated on a hill side that is close to hiking trails and Bass Lake. It feels secluded, yet is 5 minutes from Main Street by car. This was our 3rd stay over the past 7 months and we love it here. We rented a 1 BR condo instead of the usual hotel/lodge room and we were pleasantly surprised. Each condo is privately owned and decorated by the individual owners so each one is different. This is the best place to stay in Blowing Rock!

- alfredo (8/5): Great property — very outdated decor - The unit was very outdated — straight out of 1993. Also, the ceiling fans were very loud & the beds extremely uncomfortable. Further, there were zero amenities — no shampoo, conditioner, extra towels, etc.
- Sarah (8/5): Nice place - The resort is lovely and had good amenities. We enjoyed the boating, indoor pool, bocce ball, fishing and tennis courts. Our condo was comfortable although it was in need of updating. The appliances were very outdated and in poor condition. For example, the oven was extremely old and did not work properly, which made making meals very difficult. Overall, we greatly enjoyed the resort, the town, and the surrounding areas. Our children are already asking when we can return.

- Lawrence (10/5): Beautiful resort. Just a few drawbacks. - Very nice condos (we rented three), but quite variable in size. The smallest was a bit basic with the kitchen area not separate. Biggest drawback is that it is hard to take walks since they have few pathways and the hills are steep. The roadways have no sidewalk or paths so you almost have to walk in the road. But the overall resort is beautiful with a gorgeous pond with swans, geese, and ducks. Saw some deer as well. Well maintained. Staff friendly. We had few problems except a temperamental coffeemaker and a toaster that browned only one side of the toast. Excellent restaurant. Good location with nice views unless you are facing more condos from your balcony.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Worn out. Not worth the price. Chetola is nice. - Not a "Premier" Condo at all. The place is a 1970's time capsule that needs updating to justify the rental price. The bed is worn out, as is the sofa. The kitchen is tolerable, but minimally equipped. We liked Chetola, but will not rent this property again.
- Richard (10/5): Best stay we have hade in 15 years - We have 3 weeks at Chetola March and 2 in June. The unit was in first class shape, the ground well taken care of and the restaurant serve their remarkable fare. The owner of Chetola is Kent Tarburton and every employee says he interviewed them and when he had furloughed a number due to the virus, he paid many rents, food, and utilities from his own pocket. With that kind of mindset you know he is a good owner/operator and the facility shows it.
- Jodi (8/5): - We took our first overnight trip as a family of three to Blowing Rock because it wasn’t far from home. The property was beautiful! Everyone at check in and out was very nice. Unfortunately we had to cut our trip short and the staff was very accommodating to that. We were able to get our money back for the night we didn’t stay. Decorations were rustic and we had all we needed for our stay. The only two things I noticed were that the tv in the bedroom didn’t work and there was cold air coming through the corner of the window in the bedroom. We ended up turning the heat up higher because we had our 3 month old daughter. Other than those 2 things our stay was wonderful and we’d love to stay again for our next trip.

- Verified traveler (4/5): Very disappointing - Terrible, the place has not been touched since it was built in the 80’s. Paint Peeling off the walls, super dark and smelly. No internet at all. Could have rented at the inn for the same price with room service everyday.

- Toni (10/5): - We really enjoyed our stay and WILL be staying here on all future visits to Blowing Rock, NC. The property was very clean, fully stocked and all amenities provided were located on the resort. I loved that you could do everything (restaurant, spa, nails, shopping, bar, salon, etc.) and all was in walking distance of condo.

- heather (10/5): Condo stay - Stayed in a condo. Our unit was a bit dated but everything worked okay. It was neat and clean. The pull out sofa mattress needed to be replaced. Resort is very cute. Front desk staff helpful. Pub great. Great proximity to App mountain.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It’s a beautiful setting and lovely place to be. However, we chose a room because it had a fireplace and we get there and it had one alright, that was NON-WORKING! We felt fooled. Not nice to do. Also, the resorts fireplaces ALL weren’t working! At peak Fall season, and it was cold! Very disappointing. Also, there was a power outage, just when we were going to make a cup of coffee. So my husband went down to restaurant for some and they had the nerve to charge him for 2 coffee’s! During a pier outage! Really Chetola!? That’s how you treat your guests??

- Verified traveler (6/5): - Stayed at Chetola several times the room did not meet our expectations from previous visit. The carpets were and dining room chairs were badly stained. The tv reception was very poor in living room and terrible in the bedroom. The staff was very friendly and courteous as always.

- Broake (8/5): - Beautiful property and wonderful front desk staff, recreation staff, and security. Excellent experience in pub also. We felt massages in spa were overpriced for the service. The additional charge for couples massage made no sense. You were actually placed in separate rooms but with a sliding wall/screen pulled back.
- Traveler (8/5): - The condo itself is beautiful, well maintened with lots of character. The area was perfect, nice walikng trails, peacefull atmosphere and relative close to restaurants and shops. Now, this one in particular i found it over decorated, with lots of fragile declrations all over, also it felt like we never left home having so many rules,

- JLO (4/5): - This was our second trip to Chetola. The first experience had Expedia (as explained by Chetola staff) booking us in the wrong room. The resort made up for it by placing us in a condominium which was lovely. We decided to return again this weekend. Unfortunately the condo was not of the same caliber. The lumpy old bed desperately needed a mattress replacement (probably a decade ago) as well as the couch cushions. The weather was terrible so we spent more time inside than usual. For the reputation of the resort and the nearly $600 price tag for room and amenities, we expect a comfortable bed and couch. I am a seasoned traveler with realistic expectations. However, this experience was not one I would wish to repeat despite the beautiful resort and stunning location. Time to try somewhere else to stay. However the morning buffet breakfast has always been a pleasure. Would definitely return for dining.
- Graydon (8/5): Fun mountain trip - Stayed in the condos at Chetoal Lodge. The rooms were nice and comfy. Lost of space. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet and dinner at the Lodge. We will stay here again if we are in the area.
- George (8/5): Ski trip to App Ski Mountain - Wonderful atmosphere inside the Lodge and Restaurant! Very good food - we had venison one night and elk on another - both cooked to perfection! We stayed in the condominiums, and had to drive for a couple of minutes to the restaurant. The room was just average and a little dated. Next time we will try to book a room inside the lodge. Great little town with pretty good ski slopes and almost no lines at the lifts!
