Guest Reviews
- Heather (10/5): - It was absolutely perfect for one person. However there were two of us. But we managed well and the place was so beautifully clean in every room bathroom and toilet we were very impressed. Also impressed with the lounge rooms upstairs and down and the multiple bathrooms everywhere Thank you Arthur!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - For one night it was good, good location with two minutes walk to a transportation, is just kind of tiny room, but overall was good
- Paul (10/5): Midnight Train - Stayed here before. Great location. Thoughtful amenities
- Michelle (10/5): A++++ Highly Recommend - This was the cleanest, most organized, most secure hostel I've ever stayed at. Great location, highly recommend. Will revisit on future solo trips.
- Gabe (6/5): - Good budget friendly option in SLC. Walkable to restaurants and bar and high by public transportation. Easy to find free street parking. Good wifi and clean bathrooms with good water pressure/temperature. Contactless checkin went smoothness.
The room itself was felt more like a cell than a bedroom. It needed airing out. Not very comfortable or homey.
- Michal (2/5): - I got there early morning around 8am
Check-in from 3pm
It was very cold outside, i contacted stuff to get me code access to the front door. They responded after few hours
By that time i already arranged different acommodation
That hostel have bad customer service
How u can wait few hours for respond
When i tried to call i was voice mail
- Laís (10/5): - Sou brasileira e fiquei nesse hostel. É bem localizado e tudo você faz sozinho. Não há pessoas para o checkin lá na hora, você receberá instruções por
mensagem no celular . Vale a pena ficar nesse hostel. Recomendo pegar um quarto com single bad se for ficar mais de 2 dias no hostel. A estadia foi excelente e nenhum problema. Eu recomendo.
- Evelyn (10/5): - I liked the openness and security. I didn't like not having someone available to answer questions
- Larry (10/5): - The bed was comfortable, the building was clean, and the shower worked well.
- Maurice (8/5): - Easy to access
- Danuta (10/5): - Very good inforrmation how to get access. The romm was very basic but the kitchen and common area was big and well equipped. Very clean.
Easy access from the airport.
- Jasper Shekin (6/5): - Not good not bad. Go for it if there is a strict budget. Otherwise NO
- Robert (6/5): Uncomfortable - Temp outside was 100 degrees and the place had no air conditioning. Fan in room was inoperable
- Amy (10/5): - 1st & foremost this place is CLEAN. We came to SLC for a getaway from our kids, but didn't really have the money to spend on a hotel. We stayed in room A5 which had a queen bed.
UTA Trax is super close, and the area is very walkable. We bought a last minute groupon to a Jazz game. We walked, stopped for a drink, and then went to the Delta Center. At that point we hadn't realized how trax had worked but the next day we used it to go to the mall and then to go out to an R&B show.
The only complaint i have is that the lights in the hallway are VERY intense. So if you need to pee in the middle of the night its pretty shocking.
But as i said so many positives cleanliness, price, location....truly a gem!
- David (10/5): Great clean inexpensive friendly convenient hotel! - What a great place. Clean, everything was new, although the property is unmanned. That took some getting used to. But the room is clean and bright. Bathrooms and showers are brand new and spotless. Full kitchen (no oven) and huge fridge/ freezer. Very quiet which is important to me. Great location and those local scooters get you anywhere.
- Andrew (8/5): - I slept soundly, and the room was comfortable.
My only complaint: there was a strange smell in the main area and hallway.
Overall, it was a great place to stay.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The entire hostel is self service, meaning that there is no staff on hand. If you have problems with anything you are supposed to call the manager. I paid $45 for a private room, which was clean, but it was the size of a jail cell and had the personality of one as well. The room was about 12x10, with enough room for a cheap steel frame bed and a thin mattress. There was only one pillow which was so thin I had to fold it in half to make it function. The walls and door to the room was so thin that I could hear everything happening in the rooms around mine and the halls all echoed, so that I could hear everything out side the room. The whole place had a depressing, abandoned feel to it but I knew it wasn’t abandoned because I heard people through the thin walls and door all night.
- Peter J (2/5): Couldn't get into my room because there was no key - Got to the hotel, went to the, went to the check-in process. Unlock to the key box to my room to find there was no key in the box. After repeated calls and texts for over an hour I could get no response. There was no on-site staff to let me in my room. I was forced to book another hotel room for the night after a very long day. Very upset about this entire ordeal.
- Christopher (8/5): A great stay for the solo traveler. - SLC hostel is a great choice for the solo traveler. Just a block away from the TRAX. Which gives you access to downtown, airport and around the region. It has the amenities you’d expect at a hostel such as separate kitchen, shower rooms, bathrooms but, I never had any competition to use these during my stay. Self check in was easy, I also like that they allow you to store luggage (for a fee) after checkout so you can spend your last day in SLC exploring without lugging around your bags. The management is easy to reach and was able to assist within 10 minutes.
- Guest (2/5): - The check in system is a nightmare. The actual hostel felt like a halfway house. Old people down on there luck stay for a long time. Cursing and screaming, dogs running around in the middle of the night
