Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Overpriset i forhold til standaren på hotellet. Kunne vært et fint sted om de hadde vedlikeholdt det.
- T (8/5): - It was a good stay. Warm welcome by reception and friendly staff in restaurant. Had a problem with the mattress and it was assessed and changed as requested
- Mr (8/5): Good value -if you know what to expect. - I read previous reports and they were accurate---So we got what we expected which was comfortable and good. (it may be a bit overpriced for what you get but lets not get picky)
The resort needs funds and maintenance for chalets and sprucing up of Restaurant. The staff try hard but have limited resources.
Grounds and all areas clean and nicely kept.
Pool area is great--Temp up to 39 while we were there
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The facilities were very comfortable. Enjoyed the peace and quiet. No wifi and Eskom did turn off the electricity periodically. The camp has a backup generator which allowed electricity, but there is no cell service when the electricity is out.
- Lyle (8/5): Mixed feeling but still great over all - It’s really nice but definitely needs maintenance and repairs around the attractions .
A simple layer of paint and a bit of filler will go along way in the public rest rooms . None of the hand driers worked and the super thin single ply toilet roll is so thin that you cannot even pull it of the roll from the dispensers without it tearing . You should try doing that while while wiping your child’s butt .
The ground around the pool is completely covered in paper thorns so barefoot around the pool is a no no for sure .
The campsite grounds are well swept but unfortunately on consist of sand and stones so thank goodness I wasn’t camping .
Other than that the chalet was very comfortable and had everything you need and nicely laid out .
I don’t know who they are but there are a bunch of people driving around in fancy cars with GP number plates and park official magnetic signs on there vehicles that actually become a bit of a nuisance around good sightings trying to tell people where they should be parking but they are actually causing more havoc than anything else as well as approach you telling you to move on because they heard on the radio that the leopard has moved on and we don’t need to sit there anymore meanwhile I just saw the leopard as well as the direction it went in so if I want to sit and wait for it again I shouldn’t be lied to but I find it very odd that non of the “Official” vehicles leave the area . It’s like they want it to themselves .
- Charity (6/5): Life in the bundus - Potentially great holiday place but there is need to improve on overall service. Every evening there was water shortage. Wifi also not good so its not a good place to mix business with pleasure.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Nice Location - Bad memories - Reception Staff - Casually dressed, made no attempt to familiarise us with facility. Units poorly maintained. Grass around unit not cut for some time.
- Robert (6/5): Been there, Done That, Never again... - Cheaply constructed and cramped "chalets". There is no internet, even though it is advertised...would not have stayed there had I known that.
Free breakfast could use some help?
- Verified traveler (4/5): - It was very disappointing considering the price we paid.
- Colleen (10/5): - Although the chalet we stayed in was older, it was perfectly clean and very comfortable. We had such a lovely stay that we decided to stay an extra night. The breakfast was good at the restaurant, but they could have better coffee. The staff at the resort were friendly and helpful.
- Sarah (8/5): Lovely stay - The accommodation was very clean and the self-service catering equipment was good. All the staff very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The shower could do with the mould being removed but that was minor. The welcome pack in the room should include a map of the site with evacuation points marked on it, to back up the description.
We had all our meals included but although the menu was extensive not everything was available which was disappointing. As they had been busy the previous weekend and it was off-peak season they should have provided a reduced menu. The restaurant is very large and during quiet periods is should be screened off to create a better atmosphere. However, I cannot fault the waiting staff for the quality of service which was very good.
- Gilboa (10/5): Nice chalets at Pillansberg entrance - Staff are friendly, the place was quite abandoned in August - which we liked. The chalets are big and can easily accommodate 3 kids and their parents
- Kate (10/5): - Really friendly and enthusiastic staff, decent rooms (we loved the loft!) and comfortable setting.
- Phumelele (6/5): - It's a great lodge that's not being well maintained. The kitchen needs a revamp. The pool looked like it wasn't cleaned for days. The lady at check in and check out never smiled even once when we were there.
- SHAMS FARAZ (8/5): Nice stay just at Pilanesberg gate - The Chalet accomodation was good for the price. Breakfast was fine. One thing I loved was the proximity to Pilanesberg and greenery around the accomodation. Good for family with kids.
- Guillaume (10/5): Family stay in the Pilanesburg. - Pilanesburg is an amazing destination. The kids really enjoyed the playground and being able to cycle around the campsite. The pool is huge and the breakfast at the restaurant was pretty good. The only downside is the chalet accommodation looks a bit outdated and probably needs a facelift. The lodge is very close to the entrance of the park which makes it very easy to start an early game drive during the day. There is abundance of game right outside the lodge on the other side of the fence. We spotted rhinos, elephants and a brown hyena one morning within 5 minutes.
- Angela (8/5): Great Base for our safari trip - Great lodge. Only stayed one night but would stay there longer next time. All good amenities and clean. Good Base to travel the park.
- Andre (2/5): Avoid like the plague at the prices charge! - Economy time share chalet (need urgent maintenance) rented out at R2 300 per night! (2 pax b/b). Housekeeping did not place coffee sachets in kitchen on first night, toiletries was a half bottle of shampoo and a hand soap, nothing at all replaced for second night. And so on and on.......Total ripoff, avoid like the plague, you can do a lot better.
- Gareth (10/5): Fabulous stay - Very pleasant stay. Staff were so friendly. Would definitely recommend and go again.
