Guest Reviews
- James (10/5): - Pretty clean “boutique” hotel. Great staff
- Jeffrey (10/5): - It was a lovely stay, perfect place and so many attention to details. We loved it! We had to leave a day earlier because I didn't realized it's very seasonal and many places were closed for our activities.
- Chris (8/5): - Nice place but far away from centers of activity in the little town.
- Danny (8/5): - This was our second time at 1872 and our 11th in Yellowstone and Tetons, we’d go back tomorrow if there weren’t duties and grandkids at home. The adult hotel is great a just far enough away from business area to be relaxing. The are amazing, even our 11th trip found changes and new things to enjoy. We’ll be back again.
- Colleen (10/5): - Staff helped with luggage, were courteous, and gave great recommendations for dining.
- Greg (10/5): - .
- Jeffrey (8/5): - They have a sound machine and towel warming rack but I had to ask how to use both. I thought they were broken. The towel rack takes a good 30 minutes to warm up so beware. We stayed 3 nights and the 3rd night the person who cleaned the room didn't do that great a job. Whoever cleaned the first 2 nights cleaned it extremely well.
- Travis (10/5): - Nicely appointed boutique hotel conveniently located for access to town and the NP west entrance. Tasty fresh breakfast, attentive staff, comfortable room. The bedroom fireplace was a nice touch!
- Amber (10/5): - This hotel was wonderful. Comfortable bed, smelled great, luxury shower, good breakfast options for people with food allergies.
- Thomas (10/5): - Great place, clean, with an attention to detail
- Jennifer (10/5): - This cozy little inn was fantastic! So clean and very classy. Rooms were comfortable and beautifully decorated. The staff give a ou a tour and walk you to your room! Highly recommend!
- DON (10/5): - Really nice place
- Barry (10/5): - The 1872 Inn was extremely nice and we would recommend it to everyone! Upon early arrival, the staff was very gracious and accommodating in providing us with a room on the first floor (a change request based on a knee injury). The room was nice with a very comfortable bed and a great bathroom with double showers & sinks! The included breakfast was very well put together and the staff was amazing throughout… we will stay here again!
- Jeremy (8/5): - Nice adults-only
- Richard (8/5): - Wonderful, comfortable rooms with nice little extras! Amazing breakfast!! Great location!! My only complaint is it is a creaky building and being on the first floor we listened to people walking around over our heads late into the night and again really early in the morning. So annoying it was like nails on a chalkboard!
- helda (8/5): - We had a pleasant stay, the hotel is nice small and very clean and the staff were friendly, the only negative thing was that we paid for the breakfast, but the breakfast time was at seven and we had to leave earlier because we were participating in half marathon, so there was no accommodation for that, otherwise everything in the hotel was nice and clean and I would recommend it
- LAURA (10/5): - Beautiful hotel
- Brian (10/5): - Very comfortable, clean and homey! Many nice little touches. Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Will definitely recommend and stay again.
- Xiaoxi (10/5): - Very nice hotel, super comfortable, free breakfast and sauna, staffs are very friendly, nice service
- Scott (10/5): - Wonderful stay. Excellent personal service. Great location. It’s a small hotel, but the personal service makes it feel a bit like a Bed and Breakfast. Would definitely recommend.
- Tuhina (8/5): - Amazing property, great breakfast, heated towel racks, fireplace, comfy bed. The only issue was that we were on the 1st floor and there was noise from above when people were in the room above. Woke me up each night when they got back and went about for 15-30 mins until they probably went to bed.
- Sylvia (10/5): - Amazing boutique hotel! Perfectly appointed room and lobby!
- Verified traveler (10/5): 1872 Inn: an amazing stay - So happy we booked here. Such a beautiful and comfortable hotel. We were extremely happy with the service and especially the welcoming when we checked in late at night. They offered suggestions and breakfast was included! We were overall really satisfied with this stay. After a long day at Yellowstone it was so nice to come to such a comfy bed, shower, and space to rest for the next day. Thank you
- michael (10/5): - A very welcoming place. The staff (front desk/breakfast attendant/housekeeping) were very attentive to our needs. The breakfast was delicious, our room meticulously cleaned. Both gentlemen that were stationed at the front desk were professional and helpful, answering our questions, suggesting places to eat and carrying our luggage during check in/ checkout. The location is on a quiet street. Our room was nicely furnished as posted on the travel site. Ww were presently pleased with all aspects our stay
- Dean (10/5): - The only thing I would suggest is to offer souvenirs like the coffee mugs to be able to purchase as we have stayed there twice now and have asked to purchase but they don’t seem to want to sell them and we feel they are missing out on another revenue stream with not selling items from the hotel with their name on it. Other than that we absolutely love this place
- Bobbi Jo (10/5): - Adult spa like boutique hotel.
The check in was easy and informative. The attendant walked us through the property highlighting the “need to know” areas, including a sauna.
Though the room itself was small, it was well kept and had romantic feel.
The bathroom was very spacious with a dual headed shower. The complimentary amenities included sodas, waters, and snacks. The continental breakfast offered quite a selection expanding beyond what you’d find at your chain hotels.
The king sized bed was extremely comfortable and the pillows were supportive, not worn out like you typically find.
I would definitely stay at this property again if I found myself in the Yellowstone area.
Don’t let the price scare you…..it’s worth every penny.
- Frank (10/5): - Although the rooms were small they were very comfortable and clean, would stay again
- Audrey (10/5): - Very nice room
We loved the his & hers hair products.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice place to stay in West Yellowstone
- Shameen (10/5): - This hotel was truly outstanding. The room was lovely, comfortable and the shower was enormous. While they claim it's a light Continental breakfast, I would say it was far more than that and the quality was excellent. I would absolutely stay here again
- Michael (10/5): - Nice property but value to cost is limited
- Rebecca (10/5): - 1872 Inn was a wonderful treat. We spent 3 nights in this peaceful little hotel brimming with a western elegance not typical of this small town. It is beautifully & thoughtfully designed for ultimate comfort. The “Continental breakfast” is complete with eggs, meat, fruit & pastries. We loved our time here.
- Natalie (10/5): - This was an exceptional stay!! The staff, room and amenities were fantastic! The breakfast was wonderful and the comfort of our room with all the added extra like wine glasses, coffee in the room and the toiletries in the fabulous bathroom were top notch!! We will be back!!
- Sergio (10/5): - This is the nicest place to stay in West Yellowstone. They did a great job renovating an old motel into a cute hotel. The rooms are comfy and cute. Staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was the only disappointment- it was more like motel food.
- Walter (10/5): - The front desk staff are all friendly and helpful! The property itself is on the outskirts of town so it's about a 10 min walk to restaurants which was fine with us. I'd recommend a 2nd floor room just so you don't hear footsteps above. Breakfast is only so-so but I really appreciated the early coffee service. Overall a great experience for West Yellowstone!
- Joseph (10/5): - The nicest place in W Yellowstone for sure. And no screaming kids. Upscale, clean, excellent breakfast. Sauna. Small gym. Marble double shower and double sink and fireplace in room. Recommended!
- Tod (10/5): - Great hotel … very clean, very quiet (small number of rooms), excellent breakfast. We will definitely return to this hotel if we’re ever in the Yellowstone area again.
- Julie (10/5): - 1872 is a fantastic property: updated rooms with fireplace and a two person shower, friendly staff, filling breakfast. This is a 5 star quality hotel in West Yellowstone. Nikolai, front desk staff, took the time to shows us to our room and explained all the amenities. We loved the decor and the attention to detail including separate his and her toiletries and 2 luggage racks. The 2-person shower is perfect for a couple who have been hiking all day. What a gem of a hotel! Quite unexpected for the rural community!
- Ruth (10/5): - LOVED how quiet it was, so clean, delicious food and other amenities
- McKinzie (10/5): So charming! - Our stay at the 1872 Inn was amazing. We arrived and greeted with a friendly staff member who recommended some yummy dinner options. (Which we went to one he suggested and it was SOO good!) he then gave us a quick tour and everything was decorated so charming! It was very clean and quaint. I loved the bed and the shower was great! We will definitely be recommending this place and plan another visit, maybe on the winter!
- BRUCE (10/5): - An outstanding boutique hotel with the highest of standards!
- brian (10/5): - Awesome!
- Liliana (10/5): - Fantastic hotel and a great experience. It’s modern, new, clean, with great amenities and services. Short walk to dining. It felt like a boutique hotel experience. Loved our stay! Thank you, hotel owners and team.
- Stephen (10/5): Nice stay - Quiet hotel at end of strip but very clean inside
- Tammy (10/5): Unexpected Guest - Like the adult only exclusivity. But someone walked into our room and turned on the lights while we were sleeping during the night. Creepy!
- kim (10/5): - We really enjoyed our stay here!
- Julie (10/5): - Our stay at 1872 was amazing! Little did we know we were booking the best (most luxury) hotel in West Yellowstone. This 5-yr-old hotel is adults only, with wonderful Montana style and thoughtful amenities. From the warm welcome and personal tour of the hotel and escort to our room, the staff was incredible. A lovely breakfast is included and the room is stocked with some complimentary snacks and drinks. The bathroom, with its heated towel rack, double shower, robes and lovely bath amenities, was wonderful. I recommend 1872 highly!
- Elizabeth (10/5): - We loved the inn! It had everything we needed for our stay in Yellowstone. Will definitely be staying here again!
- Sina (10/5): - Very clean and nice!
The location was perfect for easy access to Yellowstone Park.
- Lisa (10/5): Pleasant surprise! - 1872 Inn was a pleasant surprise. Very comfortable bedding. Heated towel bar in bathroom. Huge shower with double rain shower heads. Cold AC. Really great breakfast was above and beyond. Some mornings even homemade breakfast sandwiches. Beautiful artwork throughout the Inn. Great staff! Only about 20 rooms and they treated you like it was small and intimate. Will definitely stay here again!
- Tad (10/5): - Luxury! Towel warmers. Stocked frig. Great breakfast!
- Joe (10/5): - All the reviews I read were spot on. The beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was great. The place was charming. The staff was so friendly with great recommendations for food. The breakfast was very good every morning. We will be back.
- Thomas (10/5): - Very clean. Wonderful breakfast. Staff very helpful with all our needs.
- Donna (10/5): West Yelllowstone - Modern, clean West Yellowstone, Convenient location. Staff very nice. Fireplace in room (not in pictures of hotel on Hotels.com) made room nice and cozy
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The room was older and we had to haul our heavy luggage up the stairs. We only spent one night here and stayed at better hotels in the area. There was a smell coming from the bathroom. The hotel is overpriced for what they are offering.
- David (10/5): - One of nicest hotels weve stayed in. Staff were fantastic and breakfast was a wonderful bonus.
- Toni (10/5): - Beautiful.
- Miriam (8/5): - Adult’s only is a plus. Decent breakfast. Has a sauna.
Nice music in the breakfast area. Very relaxing and elegant atmosphere
- Talia (10/5): - Beautiful rooms and lobby, great breakfast, pleasant and professional staff, great location. Would definitely stay there again.
- Amy (10/5): - Top notch!!
- Robert (10/5): - Property was perfect location for a trip into yellowstone park .I also like that it's in the rear of west yellowstone so its much more quiet. Easy to walk to main street. Staff is very friendly and the place is immaculate and rather new.
- courtney (10/5): Great stay - Very nice! Breakfast was great, the rooms had great amenities and the beds were comfortable. The only thing missing here is maybe some small alcoholic drinks available in lobby for purchase. We would stay here again!
- Crystal (8/5): - Overall this is probably the best hotel choice in West Yellowstone for adults. That said, there is limited choice there. This was a really cute hotel & the breakfast was awesome!! Super nice staff. We were disappointed with the view from our room, which was basically a stack of tires at the auto shop across the street. But, I think that is more reflective of the town than of this property itself.
- Raye (10/5): - This property was very close to the Yellowstone National Park entrance.
- Jennifer (10/5): - This kid free zone was excellent! Fireplace in each room and the bathrooms set this apart! Dual stall showers with towel warming racks, private bathroom, big dual sinks. The bed was big and comfy. The room is on the small side but meant for 1 or 2 adults not a family sized room. There are no in-room microwaves but the breakfast area has one. Speaking of, the breakfast was eloquent, good hot selections, inviting dinning area, and beautifully decorated. The only down side is this two story facility doesn’t have an elevator but they offer to carrry your luggage up the stairs. We always had a spot in the small parking lot. It's minutes away from everything in town and the entrance to Yellowstone. Staff was always helpful and cheery. If you're going to spend a chunk of change and aren't traveling with kids, I'd recommend this in a heart beat!
- jim (10/5): West Yellowstone - Great location. Comfortable. Front desk staff Nikolai (sp?) was incredibly
- Roger (10/5): - Simple clean uneventful
- Kathy (10/5): - The staff was super friendly and helpful. Although the room was not a large room, it had everything you need for a very comfortable overnight stay and was super clean. The bed was also very comfortable. Breakfast bar was excellent. I'm very particular about hotels and I highly recommend.
- Petja (10/5): - The 1872 Inn is a great place to stay on the outskirts of Yellowstone NP. The rooms are clean and comfortable, there is a great selection for breakfast, and it was exactly what we were hoping for when we booked our stay.
- Mikalae (10/5): - The bed was amazing! The continental breakfast was delicious the eggs surprised us. The dual shower heads was awesome to get showers done quickly. The concierge was very nice and showed us around and helped us with a very helpful map of the area with restaurant and convenient store. Highly recommend
- Timothy (10/5): - We enjoyed staying here and would love to stay again
- ELZBIETA (10/5): - Excellent and upscale hotel. Super clean, friendly staff. Would recommend to any couples.
- Allen (10/5): - The rooms are small but have modern and rustic decoration. They have everything you need and many extras that other hotels don't have. We enjoyed DirecTV satellite with lots of channels, a big TV, 3 USB chargers with power outlets, a heated towel rack, a big shower with 2 shower heads and its own heated air fan, a separate room for the toilet was nice, and free sodas (Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, sparkling water) plus 2 bottles of water. Dual sinks, each with a different brand of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. A steamer rather than an iron. They had a comfortable bed with 5 pillows and a gas fireplace. They definitely paid attention to details.
- Miriam (10/5): - Very comfortable and hospitable, delicious breakfast, friendly and helpful staff. No complaints whatsoever.
- Michael (10/5): - The whole experience was excellent. Decor and breakfast was very good, staff very helpful.
- Sue (10/5): - Loved this property. If staying in the small town of West Yellowstone/ this is by far your best option. The hotel is very clean and modern compared to other hotels in the area. Towel warmers were a nice touch. Great continental breakfast. Only negative would be lack of elevators to 2nd floor rooms ( hotel is only 2 stories). Which wasn’t ab issue for us. I’m not sure if this is advertised. Ask for a room on 1st floor is needed.
- Richard (10/5): - Well appointed room. They also have thought about some of the little things like both men's and women's toiletries. Breakfast was also a little better than you get at most "breakfast included" hotels. If in the area, i would definately consider staying here again
- Valerie (10/5): - I would highly recommend 1872. It was at the quiet end of town but walkable distance to the shops and restaurants. Such a cute place with VERY nice rooms. All updated and great quality fixtures. Rooms has awesome fireplace. Extremely clean!!!
- Brenda (10/5): - Wonderful experience. Very relaxing
- Donald (10/5): - Great location with easy access to Yellowstone. Great staff and amenities. Nice and quiet.
- Donna (10/5): - This was a charming motel. Room was nicely appointed & updated with a huge shower, complimentary snacks, soft drinks and waters. Super comfortable bed too.
Complimentary breakfast was great.
Great in town location- walking distance to restaurants & a helpful desk clerk too.
- KIM (10/5): - A unique adults only quaint property. A little pricey for a small room. Very clean and homey. The best breakfast and I loved the dining room and communal spaces. Too bad they don’t offer a simple three course dinner. No elevator so had to carry luggage up stairs although they did offer. Area around the property is not pretty!!
- Karen (10/5): - Very cute, cozy and rustic hotel very close to Yellowstone west entrance. View from our window not so great though- auto garage shop with piles of tires. Rooms very small. But overall, very unique boutique- type adult hotel.
- Steven (8/5): - The Inn itself was very nice. The people who run it were excellent. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms are very clean. Also, the location is quite convenient since it is right down the street from the West entrance to the park and walking distance to all of downtown.
- Mary (10/5): - I loved the fact that it was a small, intimate boutique hotel. The rooms had a fireplace and small refrigerator with water and snacks. There also was a sauna for two in the hotel. The lobby was cozy and offered a light breakfast. Would definitely return!
- Lisa (10/5): - Amazing! Quaint yet elegant. The fireplaces in the room, the inviting lobby, the delicious breakfasts and the the sauna are among some of the wonderful touches the hotel provides.
- Amy (10/5): - What a great place! The room was amazing from the comfy bed, the fireplace, window with screen, double shower, heated towel rack and overall design. The hotel itself is super quiet and so clean. The front desk staff is amazing. The a/c worked great. You can walk to dining and shopping.
- Danielle (10/5): - We loved our stay at 1872 Inn. It was perfect, everything about the hotel met our expectations and more! I would recommend this hotel to anyone!
- Hai Lung (10/5): - Staff is great.
- Kim (10/5): - The cleanliness and amenities are top notch. Breakfast options allowed for a full meal to start the day. Quiet rooms except the noise from the parking lot when our window was open was loud in the morning. Nice decor.
- Deborah Hershey (10/5): - It was a very nice room. Their continental breakfast was extremely good. Akeem checked us in and made sure we knew everything about our room when we checked in. The staff was very friendly.
- Jan (10/5): - Very quite and clean. Adult only was a big plus.
- RIchard Hayhurst (8/5): Hard to judge - Certainly stands out in Yellowstone as somewhere different and more modern. However it does seem overpriced for what is an average fairly small room in a nondescript location. Fortunately the park makes up for everything, just get up early to avoid queues at the gate.
- Miranda (10/5): - This was one of the nicest places I have ever stayed. The staff is very friendly and the rooms are so clean. The smell throughout is so refreshing and I absolutely loved our stay!!
- Jody (10/5): - Very cozy Inn. The rooms were comfortable and quiet. Breakfast selections were adequate and tasty. Friendly staff and close to downtown West Yellowstone and also to the west entrance to Yellowstone. Enjoyed our stay.
- janet (10/5): - This property is excellent! Very beautifully decorated, well appointed rooms, love the robes, excellent amenities, bed is amazing, beautiful artwork, awesome fireplace....can't say enough about this place. It was amazing!
- Jeffery (10/5): - I liked the adult only aspect, didn't have to worry about children running through halls and making noise. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back
- MELODY (10/5): 1872 review - Wonderful experience. The gentleman up front was so kind and informative. More places should have happy & helpful employees 😀
The room was awesome!
- Jonathan (10/5): - Excellent place to stay
- john (10/5): 1872 Inn Perfect Stay in West Yellowstone - Adults only hotel in West Yellowstone. 1872 Inn was super clean, very well decorated, great friendly staff and excellent breakfast. Very close access to West Yellowstone entrance.
