Walter (9/5): Zimmer super, Lage hervorragend, Frühstück sehr lecker. - Wir waren, als wir endlich unser „richtiges“, gebuchtes Zimmer hatten sehr zufrieden. Das Frühstück war sogar über unseren Erwartungen. Uns hat gar nichtgefallen, dass sie uns beim Einchecken nicht das richtige Zimmer gegeben hatten, sondern sang- & klanglos eines einer niedrigeren Kategorie (obwohl sie 6 Tage vorher uns noch gemailt haben, dass „unser“ Zimmer auf uns wartet. Es war auch nicht das ganze Haus belegt, sodass es ein Notfall gewesen wäre). Erst nach unserer Reklamation kam eine Entschuldigung und das Versprechen, dass wir am nächsten Tag das gebuchte Zimmer belegen können. Wir mussten somit einen Tag aus zwei Koffern leben und konnten bis 12:00 des nächste Tages nicht unser Sightseeingprogramm durchführen. Das fanden wir sehr unangenehm, aber noch schlimmer fand ich, dass uns das Personal der Rezeption (das aber sehr freundlich war) ohne etwas zu sagen mit einem wirklich miesen Zimmer mit Blick auf das Dach abspeisen wollte - um $ 900.- die Nacht. Wie bereits in einer anderen Bewertung erwähnt, haben wir den Eindruck, dass Gäste die direkt buchen immer die besseren Zimmer bekommen.

tamsenc2026 (10/5): NYE, relaxing visit - Went for NYE, nice location to enjoy Main Street shops - Yankee Ingenuity is across the street & a must-visit! Some festivities are close by, but it’s a bit of a walk to the shuttle bus and most NYE venues. We traveled with two other couples that don’t want to spend NYE watching a ball drop on TV; Chatham offers a great variety of fun, well-planned entertainment. CWI has beautiful rooms, perfectly clean & well maintained. Great staff, very welcoming! Continental breakfast was fine (muffins, cereal, yogurt) but get there early for better selection.

We would have given a wonderful review, but having no heat on New Year’s Eve was really unacceptable. Please correct this situation so that future patrons never experience this unpleasant situation.

tommF3588EM (8/5): Solid Inn - Not pretentious, straight forward, no complications. Best location on Main St. - Drove down from New Hampshire for a Saturday (11/1/2025) get-a-way. Not a big weekend on the Cape. Parking and check-in was a breeze. No up sells, or bla-bla. Room was ready (4:00 pm) and not a walk around the blocks to find the room. Room was clean, functional, with Keurig but NO Netflix. Standard feed of all commercial TV abuse. Comfortable bed, quiet, not much view. Refrigerator and good WIFI. Clean. Simple. $300 all in. Did I not say? BEST LOCATION WITH easy parking. Walk everywhere in town. Very good restaurant/bar with attentive service and real food (not SYSCO fare). 5 star location but deduct for crap TV late at night and no Netflix.

We spent a few days in Cape Cod, and took the time to drive from one end to the other, and even took a day trip to Nantucket. We are quite certain that Chatham is THE BEST, most charming place to stay in the area!

It is located in the center of town; has clean, well appointed rooms; a terrific continental breakfast; a courteous and responsive staff. We did not eat in the tavern on this trip, but have dined there on other occasions and enjoyed our meals there.

Breakfast included was convenient and very nice though minimal protein offered (only scrambled eggs). Our room was clean, bright with lots of windows and nice albeit a bit small with slanted ceilings so if traveling with someone tall, I would ensure you have a room with normal ceilings.

The location could not be better—right in the heart of charming downtown Chatham, with shops, restaurants, and the beach just steps away. The inn has a warm, classic Cape Cod feel, with comfortable rooms and thoughtful touches throughout. The staff was welcoming and attentive, making sure every detail of our visit was easy and enjoyable. Dining at the Wild Goose Tavern was excellent—great atmosphere and delicious food. There was no way to avoid the stairs. That will be a problem for folks that don’t have the strength to carry their bags up and down those stairs. There weren’t any bellhops to help. Definitely a particle issue the hotel needs to address. I would not recommend staying there since there are plenty of other choices.

The continental breakfast was excellent, different selection each day - bagels and lox, fruit, croissants, scones, sausage, eggs, and more! Everything very fresh and delicious. The homemade cookies in the lobby all day long were also a great treat. The rooms were nicely decorated, as was the entire facility. Thank you for a great stay!! Next time in Chatham I will be staying here!

Matthew (10/5): - Nice hotel, rustic and rooms are spacious. Nice outdoor pool and a decent fitness centre. Great alternative to Chatham Bars Inn and far less stuck up, which can certainly be an advantage depending on what you're looking for. It's also right on the strip. Parking is super easy and so is checking in.
Paulette (4/5): - First of all, room was not ready at check-in for 4pm. Once we got to our room, the a/c wasn’t working and it took about 30-45mins for someone to come and show us another room because maintenance wasn’t available. Then upon having to move rooms, we had to go to the front desk to get new keys. Charging close to $600/night for a room, I would have expected better service. Will definitely have reservations about staying here again.

CarrieS52015 (10/5): Reasonably priced, extremely convenient, and very clean - We had a fantastic stay at Chatham Wayside Inn. Its prime location allowed us to walk to both the beach and all the restaurants we ate at during our 4 days in Chatham. It was very well-maintained, and we were happy with our room, which was a King Deluxe w/ Patio in the Parkside building. The room was attractive, spacious, and quiet. The bathroom was a bit dark (lighting not conducive to putting on makeup), but like the rest of our room, it was very clean. We appreciated the complimentary continental breakfast, especially the overnight oats, which were delicious. We did experience 1 morning where we got to breakfast a little later than usual (2 hours into the 3-hour window) and found it to be quite sparse, but we also received a mid-stay survey that day, provided feedback, and found our remaining breakfasts to be fully stocked. We enjoyed swimming in the pool; we even had it to ourselves a few times. Overall, we highly recommend Chatham Wayside Inn!

Elizabeth (10/5): Wonderful as usual - I had a wonderful stay here - can’t beat the location - right on Main Street in the heart of downtown Chatham. Room was fresh and clean, mattress was very soft, would have preferred a firmer one but slept fine. I did bring my own pillow which I left accidentally, the staff called me maybe 20 minutes after I checked out to tell me I left it, which I really appreciate. I wish the complimentary breakfast had a couple more warm food options - there were scrambled eggs and everything else was cold (fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, pastries, granola). It would have been nice to have bacon and/or sausage. Overall a great option if you want to be close to the shops!

lisamen22 (8/5): Pleasant stay but gorged with fees - Overall, the Inn was a pleasant stay. The room is clean and the hotel is centrally located. The problem is all the fees that are charged on top of the room charge. They seem to gorge you with a "Destination Fee" for Massachusetts? Then there is also a "Water Protection Fund" fee! Then the city and state taxes! Really unnecessary to charge all these fees.

tnbenson42 (2/5): Cold, Uncaring, and Completely Inflexible - Disgraceful Treatment During a Family Emergency - I am absolutely appalled by how the Chatham Wayside Inn handled a recent situation involving my father's reservation. He was scheduled to stay there, but the day before his trip, he experienced a serious accident and was rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery. Naturally, he could not travel. When I called the Inn to explain the situation, two different employees assured me that the inn had made exception sin similar situation sand that refunding the trip shouldn't be an issue, but that it was ultimately up to the supervisor. However, when the supervisor called me back, everything changed. Her tone was cold, condescending, and completely devoid of compassion. She flatly informed me that the best they could offer was a credit for a future stay - as if someone recovering from major surgery should be planning their next vacation. This wasn't a casual cancellation or no-show do to por planning. This was a real emergency, and it was treated with complete indifference. The lack of empathy and the dismissive attitude of the supervisor were shocking. For a place that markets itself as a charming and welcoming Cape Cod inn, the reality is quite different: zero human decency when it matters most. Shame on the Chatham Wayside Inn for prioritizing profit over people. If you are looking for a place that values compassion and customer service, look elsewhere.
Davis (7/5): - Reception area was nice, as were the staff at the reception desk. Our room was kind of a downer. You had to go up, then down a set of stairs to get to the room, and the room was dark and basement-y feeling. The floor had a marked slope to it at one end.
janetO8067ZY (6/5): Great Location, Disappointing Room/Bathroom - We had a very mixed experience at this hotel. We stayed here for two nights while in town for a wedding. It looks very charming from the outside and the common areas are nice. The location is in the heart of Chatham and walkable to everything in town, so that is a huge positive. The staff are friendly, and the complimentary breakfast had a nice selection. I would not recommend the room we were in, which was #101. It was dark, smelled damp and faced directly onto Main Street, so it was noisy at night. We could also clearly hear the footsteps of the people in the room above us. The a/c was not working well -- we had it set to 68 degrees and it never went below 72. The bathroom is very small and dated with very little counter or storage space, the lighting is terrible for putting on makeup and there is no magnifying mirror, but there were a lot of towels which was nice. The bed was very comfortable and I appreciated that there were extra pillows in the closet, however there is no full length mirror in the room, which makes it hard to get ready for a wedding! We weren't there long enough to use the pool so I cannot comment on that. Overall, it was fine, not great, especially for the prices they are charging, but I guess that's what you get for your money in the middle of the high season on Cape Cod, and perhaps the rooms on the higher floors away from the main street are nicer.

Staff at the inn were always very friendly and accommodating. We would stay again if we return to Cape Cod!
Lila (10/5): Delightful stay in Chatham! - Beautiful inn right on Main Street. The staff was all top notch- pleasant and helpful. The Wild Goose is a good restaurant. Rooms are on the small side, but lovely. Bed was very comfortable and decor neutral and pleasant.

The location is absolutely wonderful and in the heart of Chatham. The staff was absolutely wonderful to work with and so attentive to our team. The restaurant and their continental breakfast were awesome. The cosmopolitan was one of the best I’ve had at their attached restaurant! My room was so quaint and well kept. I’d highly recommend checking this hotel out!

GoPlaces617410 (10/5): Great 4th of July first trip to Chatham - We had a wonderful family trip at Chatham Wayside Inn over the 4th of July! Check-in was a breeze, and the location couldn’t be better—right in the heart of shopping and restaurants, with fantastic ice cream spots nearby and just a short walk to some beautiful beaches. We saw some previous reviews mentioning a disappointing breakfast, but our experience was completely different. The breakfast spread was fresh and delicious, featuring fresh fruit, yogurt, bagels, croissants, muffins, eggs, and even salmon. It was a great way to start the day! The entire staff was absolutely delightful and made us feel very welcome. One of the highlights was having front row seats to the 4th of July parade while enjoying our included breakfast—a truly memorable experience. We had initially tried to get a room at Chatham Bars Inn but they were fully booked. We did visit there for drinks and dinner, and while the Bars Inn has a bigger pool and direct beach access, we truly loved our location and price at the Wayside Inn. It was perfect for our family. We highly recommend Chatham Wayside Inn for a family-friendly, conveniently located stay with great amenities!

Sehar (10/5): - Everything from my check in to my check out was just exceptional. The property is pristinely clean! Staff are amazing. We got a room with a high toilet seat. I am short n with back issues I requested them to put me into another king bed room. They didnt find an exact match available that night so they were kind enough to give me an upgrade without any extra cost to me! The king suite that we shifted too was sooo beautiful n with a deck . For families with babies there is a park right next to the property! This was such a plus since i travelled with my toddler boy. The location cant get better right in the middle of chatham and close to everything! Decent breakfast spread! My trip was so amazing that I will go back in a beat to this place! Thanks for making our stay so comfortable !
Chant (10/5): Chatham Cape Cod - It was a very nice location with a lot of shops and restaurants. The staff is very friendly. Our bed was soft and lumpy not the best also have the kitchen under us so very noise in our room up until 11:30 pm the breakfast was very good for a healthy diet. Will definitely be back. I would just look for a room away from the room on the 2nd floor over the kitchen.
