Guest Reviews
- 53businesstraveler69 (8/5): nice and clean - The hotel was nice and clean, bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was clean. The tv like most hotels in Italy with the minor exception of U.S. chains didn't have any English speaking channels. The breakfast could use a little improvement but was a traditional Italian breakfast. The car garage is a little tricky getting in but if you like the staff will pull it out for you in the morning. I will stay here again in the future.
- Ola (10/5): - We had planned to visit Amalfi but accidentally booked Della Mura. When we arrived late in the night, we stayed and Alfonso offered to and drove us to Amalfi. The brothers are simply amazing people! The hotel is extremely clean and comfortable. All the best with the dancing journey.
- m_jansa (10/5): BEST HOTEL OWNERS WE'VE EVER HAD!! - Me and my boyfriend stayed at Palazzo della Mura for 7 days and we had the best experience ever. Alfonso and his brother, the owners of the hotel, helped us out with everything that we needed and more, they were really friendly and opened persons and they helped us make the best of the trip. It's 5 min near Pompei, and 20-25 min if you want to go to Amalfi Coast. 15 minutes to Napoli... a dream come true. The rooms are big and comfortable, we felt very welcome and very accompanied in every issue that we had during our holidays. We will repeat for sure next year with some friends!
Thank you for being the best hotel we could have asked for :) and we hope to see you again very soon!!
- Matteo (8/5): Piacevole scoperta. - Piacevole scoperta. Struttura nuova, pulita e confortevole. Personale molto disponibile e cordiale. Ci ritornerei.
- Mr_MrsDaley (8/5): Living with locals - This b&b is off the beaten track if you will, if you a brave enough to drive around the Naples area (think whacky races) this b&b has a private car park underneath which would be ideal, and is a good base for the Amalfi coast.
We used the airport shuttle for €5 to get into Napoli centre and the metro to get to the b&b .It's a good 15 minute walk away, but from Angri station it's 2 stops and €2 to Pompeii, from Pompeii you can get a train to Sorrento for €2 or you can go direct from Angri to Salerno for €3 or to Napoli €5.
You are living with locals, it's not a tourist area so apart from a few shops, tavernas, pubs there isn't a lot to do. It's a good place to get a good feel for life in Napoli.
The b&b is modern and comfortable, breakfast ok. USB ports next to bed to charge phones nice touch. It's on a main road and Napoli seems to be a place that doesn't sleep so it's always busy. We didn't use the balcony as it's on the main road, there is no view. You see Mount Vesuvius on the way to the b&b but not from it.
The owner and his family are friendly and they do try to help if you have any questions, we generally used google maps or the rio2rome website to plan our journeys but he did try to help and he arranged a taxi to the airport on our return journey as the trains weren't running. His English is much better than my Italian!
We eat tea every night at Osteria Anya, it was so nice we didn't look for anywhere else they treated us like family and it was fantastic food at a great price - I would recommend!
It was a nice stay and a very good price.
- C6724CTandreww (6/5): New,modern, room for improvements though - Stayed hear on a secret escapes deal. If this review was based solely on value for money it would be 5 stars as the price for staying in Italy was very reasonable. The photos of this modern & new b & b show it to be clean, stylish, modern & well equipped which to be honest it is all of these. The rooms are clean, bright, good sized, well equipped & modern. Bottled water was provided free of charge on request. However we did experience some niggles which soured our experience a bit.
On our first morning there was no hot water & we had to phone reception to complain. The owner said he would fix it. We expressed our dissatisfaction but was only met with you will have to wait 1/2 hr. breakfast was continental with a reasonable choice. The owner kindly made our teas & coffees from the machine which was good because we didn’t have a clue how to work it. Disappointingly, the drinks were only luke warm which spoilt them. The bed was very comfortable but unfortunately the 2 pillows were too soft & left me with a bad neck in the morning. We tried to get help from 2 of the staff on how to get from Angri to both Pompei & Rome using public transport. On both occasions we were met with just confusion & frustration, which is contradictory to what other reviewers have said, so we were surprised that they did not know with more certainty how to direct us. In the end we just relied on google. We discussed using the buses but this for very confusing & at no time did they tell us we needed to buy tickets before boarding & where to buy them. Angri is about 10 mins by train from Pompeii.however the best station for the ruins is Pompei Scavi which is on a different line (circumvesuviana). It takes about 1/2 hr to wall from Pompei station to Pompei Scavi. If u want to go to Herculaneum or Sorrento u will need to use Pompei Scavi station. Also note that there are limited restaurants in Angri & even those are mostly closed on a Sunday evening.
The b & b is a bright modern building & puts the rest of the road to shame. That leads me to say that Angri is not the prettiest town in The area & is more of a locals town. This was typified by a visit to a very good local restaurant which only had Italian menus & the staff did not speak English. It’s a decent base to explore although I think I would stay in or around Pompei next time.
On our final morning there was a power cut as we were getting up & looking to leave for the airport. This made showering & getting ready rather difficult.
So to summarise, it’s a good b & b which is very good value for money. I would recommend to others as long as they are aware of the issues mentioned above. I think the secret escapes write up & PDM’s website paints a better picture than what is on offer
- Velmes (10/5): Fantastic modern B&B in a great location - Just stayed here for 7 nights. Very friendly, efficient and helpful staff. Always ready to help with any queries we had about the area.
B&B and room excellent, exceptionally clean modern and bright , felt very secure with underground parking.
The shower in the bedroom was wonderful as was the tv and free wifi. Lovely fluffy white towels which were changed regularly.
A lovely buffet breakfast was served each morning.
B&B ideally placed for sightseeing, train station about 15 mins walk away, took the train into Naples, Pompei, drove to the Amalfi coast and Sorrento and Mount Vesuvius. Plenty of supermarkets around and Cafes, found some nice pizzerias and if you like icecream they are to die for.
If you are staying in this area, i would highly recommend a stay at this B&B , you wont be disappointed! The owners and staff have put alot of effort into making this a wonderful place to stay in, and if we are in the area again it will definitely be our first choice to stay in again. Thankyou.
- 112simonp (10/5): Great B&B very modern great location - This B&B has been refurbished recently and the quality of the finish and fittings is superb...
The room was a good size with all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay and the shower had to be experienced to be believed truly fantastic never had a shower with so many spray options! Wonderful
Alessandro on reception who is part the family who owns the B&B is very helpful and gave us his personal phone number and told us he was available 24/7 and to call if we needed anything so that was great service.
The location of B&B was in an area where there aren't to many tourists but all the amenities are available small supermarkets just across the road, plenty of restaurants around with a park not far away with a lovely bar where you can while away time people watching with a glass of wine..
It's about a 20 minute walk to the train station which goes into Naples (personally would bother not nice place) via Pompeii (well worth a visit) and to Salerno in the other direction which is well worth a visit and very cheap to get to about 8 euro I think.
So would definitely recommend
- X9694URnatalieg (10/5): Fantastic, modern room! - The rooms are very new, modern and extremely clean. The owner was very friendly and extremly kind. The big rooms were very comfortable and I appreciated they were clean like U.S. and German standards. If your visiting Naples, Vesuv or Pompeji, don't miss this place.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Modern, clean and secure rooms - It was perfect! The rooms were clean, modern, and I felt very safe. The size of the room was great and very comfortable. I highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to visit Naples, Vesuv, and Pompeji.
