Guest Reviews
- kokubo (10/5): 癒し(* ´ ` *)ᐝ(* ´ ` *)ᐝ - 快適に過ごすことができました。 特にございません。
- MAI (6/5): -
- Alexandre (8/5): Good but it can not better is some approvement were made. - The location and the fact that was very clean Except in the bathroom, there is no mirror in the appartement, we could not fill the bathtub an alarm was ringing every time we try to use.
- REN (10/5): -
- Sarah (8/5): Amazing - The house is very cute, and the outside area was beautiful. The only challenge was in the bathroom, there is no AC and in summer it’s very hot.
But the overall stay was amazing and the location perfect.
- Fabio (9/5): Superb - Traditional outdoor spa was great. Traditional japanese breakfast was great and well presented (brought from outside) Air conditioning fan was damaged and very noisy. We had to switch it off.
- Gracie (10/5): - It was a cute place. A little hard to find at first, but was really nice and we loved it!
- Caroline (6/5): Nice quiet location within easy walking distance of tourist sites. - It was in a nice quiet street within easy walking distance of tourist sites. The air con in the main bedroom wasn’t great but everything else was very nice Lack of air on in main bedroom
- Gergő (10/5): Everything was amazing. Quet, well organised, modern ryokan. - Everything was amazing. Quet, well organised, modern ryokan.
- Jonathan (8/5): Beautiful spot in a great location! - Great facility and amazing location. Host was very responsive. Not the best value for what you got. Difficult for taxis to get in and out of.
- Jesse (7/5): Good - Outstanding location.
Good shower and bath.
Overall size of accommodation good.
In floor heating downstairs nice.
Kyoto / Gion in Cherry blossom season is amazing Very Uncomfortable thin mattress in 1 bedroom, while in the other room a great comfortable double bed with thick mattress. Downstairs there are several extremely thin and uncomfortable cushions - so no where to sit and read or watch a movie at night after a day of walking and seeing sites, other than the 1 comfortable bed upstairs, which only works for 1 person.
Didn’t provide umbrellas, and cleaned the place once in 5 nights. For over $1000 AUD per night I think overall it’s not great value for money. certainly room for improvement.
- Staci (9/5): Memorable - It was the perfect combination of traditional Japanese style housing that we were looking for but was also clearly updated and modern. It was perfectly clean and check in process was easy and no contact. The location was so convenient to many different locations via walking. We also enjoyed the traditional Japanese breakfast, which was as beautiful as it was tasty. The drinks provided in the fridge was a very nice and unexpected touch. The outdoor bath was incredible and just what we were looking for for a private onsen-like experience for our family. Would highly, highly recommend this place to others going to Kyoto! The bed in the main bedroom, while very comfortable, took up the entire floor space. That made it hard to find a space to even stand up to get dressed privately. We also wish we could have notified when we didn't need breakfast so it didn't go to waste or to select a different time for breakfast-- we had two days where we left very early to beat the crowds for certain tourist sights, so weren't available for breakfast delivery at the set stime.
- Kelly (8/5): Very good -
- Joshua (8/5): Very good - Outside bathtub. The location is really good, 10 minute walk to Gion-Shijo and a 20 minute walk to Nishiki Market There is only one shower outside. It is very overpriced.
- Satoshi (7/5): A memorable stay on many different levels. - It was clean and in a quiet neighborhood. It was also a walking distance from our reservation the next morning and to a temple and a shrine we visited. A very convenient location. 14 min walk to the nearest train station. It was raining the night we stayed and taking a hot bath outside in a rain was something surreal. The facility was stocked up with amenities. The food delivered in the morning was top-notch. The upstairs had a western style bedroom and a Japanese style tatami room. The tatami room had an odd smell. I thought it was because of its age and mustiness from the rain. My girlfriend thought it was neat to sleep there but woke up screaming after a sleep paralysis. We ended up sleeping downstairs.
- Carene (8/5): Good traditional experience - The tub was great, machiya was great and makes for great photos. Location was fantastic with Gion and Kiyomizu-dera walking distance away It was a bit overpriced and not really good value for the money we paid. We thought breakfast was included but it wasn’t.
- Julie (10/5): Peaceful and comfortable apartment in the heart of Gion neighborhood - Very comfortable accommodation with traditional zen architectural elements, ie going “outside” from the main building to the bathing area through a beautiful tiny courtyard. Also the location was perfect for getting easily (usually on foot, sometimes by a quick taxi) to everything we wanted to see in Kyoto. Delightful!
- Jessica (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional - The private outdoor onsen is a plus. What surprise me the house has a turntable with some oldies records. Wish they can provide robes.
- Troy (10/5): Excellent - The location was great! Very central Restaurants close quite early
- Kirill (8/5): Very good -
- Han-coty (7/5): Good -
- Abdulaziz (4/5): Disappointing -
- Guventhiran (4/5): Overpriced - Location Facilities
- Roland (8/5): Memorable and relaxing stay - It’s located in a quiet neighborhood, making it quite peaceful at night. But within walking distance of the tourist spots. Easy to check in. Very spacious - easily good for 4 with two bedrooms and toilets. Wifi is good and easy to connect. Staff is quick to reply to questions. The drinks in the mini fridge are included in the room rate. But the best of all is the outdoor onsen pool. For what it offers, it’s quite pricey. Also, need hooks for towels and coats in strategic places.
- Xinhua (8/5): Very good -
- Darren (8/5): Very good -
- Crystal (8/5): Very good -
- Rose (8/5): A peaceful place to stay in a historical part of the town. - The outside onsen bathtub was amazing. It was an interesting experience. The beds were firm but comfortable. It was easy to check in. The location was great to all the temples. Perhaps have a coat rack near the entrance. There was nowhere to hang our jackets except for one of the bedrooms upstairs. This could be more of an issue in winter There was virtually no water pressure in the upstairs bathroom to wash hands.
- Victor (10/5): Traditional feeling with all the luxuries - This is very nice. Traditional feeling. Awesome bath and showers. The bathroom could have a more private option for those who stay with other people.
- Dorina (10/5): Had a great time here with my boyfriend for Valentine’s Day, the open air bath is great! - Open air bath
- Caroline (10/5): Alone and comfortable - After initial shock of street and no reception. We had our own home/ riokhan, we ended up loving the place. Great bathroom. Very zen. Delicious Japanese breakfast. Nice stay
