- Susan (8/5): - Very convenient location. Older mom and pop establishment. Close to town and waterfalls.
- Melissa (6/5): - Room had a mildew/musty smell. Very damp in the room so the carpet felt damp. The motel is in a great area not far from the town or the falls.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Two of our three parties had no running water and staff very rude
- Katheryn (10/5): - A
- Brian (4/5): - We got there and there was hair in the sink and hair in the shower right after house keeping said it was ready. My wife was grossed out and didn't want to stay here. The manager was nice and gave us a complete refund.
- Christy (8/5): Met Our Needs - Clean and comfortable, which is all we wanted or needed.
- Katrina (6/5): - For the price probably not worth it. Basic hotel. Room is small. Very clean. Staff is excellent.
- Mary (10/5): - All aspects of room great.
- Lynn (10/5): - This property was a perfect place for what I wanted. If I get back to that area, I’d stay there again.
- LeeAnn (10/5): Wonderful - Very clean beds were great
- Earl (8/5): - The motel is close to downtown Munising and pictured rocks area. The room was adequate but nothing fancy. A ice dispenser in the lobby was nice. Good value price wise
compared to other locations. I would use this location again if we ever return to the area.
- Monique (6/5): - The staff was very friendly. The room had a mildew/damp smell.
- Edward (6/5): - If u r looking for Holiday Inn this place is not for u. It is a good value for the money, clean, nice bed. No amenities. Small room. It is a mom and papa place. Room had a strange smell. Not sure how it could get an 8.8 on Expedia more like a 7.3
- David (4/5): - I’ve stayed at this hotel before and liked it, so I came back. However this time I felt the room was in bad shape.
First you need to understand that the hotel is retro, and that’s what I liked about it previously. I also liked the owner.
The room smelled strongly like mildew and dirty laundry.
The bathroom door didn’t close all the way.
There were pubic hairs in the tub and a sponge used to clean the tub was left in the tub.
I found hairs on my blanket.
Though I really wanted to like the place, it just didn’t live up to the previous experience, and I sadly would not stay there again.
- Dennis (6/5): - Descent motel
- Christina (10/5): - This is a charming roadside motel with a lovely, welcoming host. We will come back again!
- sandra (10/5): - The room was large and clean. very comfortable beds. Had an onsite laundry in a room with pool table. Really liked that. nice picnic area behind building, nice area to walk the dog. The staff was really nice.

Had a musty smell
- Lisa (6/5): - Liked the fact pet friendly, liked street entrance into room - park at room front door. Staff down to earth & pleasant.
Didn’t like one bed squeaked, small tv, no entry rug/door mat so can wipe feet.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Good value - Nice clean rooms
- Debra (10/5): - It was an older property, but very nice. New bed and pillows wonderful shower. We would stay again.
- Andrew (4/5): - The bed was like sleeping on a rock. The toilet was filthy. If you enjoy the sound of the highway this the place for you. I spend about 50% of nights in motels and for a room like what I stayed in I would expect to pay between $40.00 and $50.00 per night, not $160.00
- Kelley (10/5): - Our stay was pleasant. Quiet and close to town
- MICHAEL (10/5): - Simple, no confusion, just straight forward lodging.
- Richard (10/5): - Great place..safe..comfortable.
- Tim (8/5): - Was a nice quiet location.
- Dakota (10/5): - Its affordable and clean. My wife and just need a place to sleep. This was it. Clean bed, room, bathroom and shower. Its not fancy but thats what we like. Mini fridge, AC, Smart TV with cable, free wifi, clean soft towles in the bathroom, and hot coffee in the main building in the morning. And it was good coffee too. Like homemade coffee. If the wife and I are in the area again we'd come back. No question about that.
- Antonio (6/5): Old and uncomfortable - The motel was old and the room had an odor. The shower curtain was moldy and stained and the bed pillows need to be replaced.
- Julianna (10/5): - Friendly staff, nice rooms!
- Ronny (8/5): - Close to all attractions.
- Ashley (10/5): - Room was clean and front desk staff was nice.
- Sai Tej (10/5): - Amazing
- Phillip (10/5): - 5/5 Stars – Perfect Base for Exploring Munising and the UP!
We had a fantastic stay at Alger Falls Motel! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by how clean, comfortable, and well-maintained everything was. The room was spacious, spotless, and had all the amenities we needed, including a fridge, microwave, and great Wi-Fi—perfect for both relaxing and planning our adventures.
The location is ideal—just minutes from Pictured Rocks, waterfalls, and all the best that Munising has to offer. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, offering great tips on local sights and trails. You can tell they genuinely care about their guests.
We also loved the peaceful setting. It felt quiet and private, yet close to everything. It’s clear the owners take pride in keeping the place in great shape. If you're looking for an affordable, no-hassle stay in the UP, Alger Falls Motel is a gem. We’ll definitely be back!

- Michael (10/5): - I was right on the snowmobile trail. Outside entrance to the rooms.
