- Gladys (9/5): Nous avons adoré ! - L’emplacement, le bungalow, le room service, le personnel, le calme Rien

- rael (8/5): - Room was a good size , shower was hot and powerful. Bed was comfy. Staff were very friendly amd helpful . Its a little bit out of town but they have a good realiable taxi service to take you to and from. It was a bit pricey compared to standard taxis but its easy and convenient. Breakfast was basic but wasnt bad.
- Hock Guan (10/5): Good to relax here - Outskirts of city and surrounding by mountains and Quinoa. Can enjoy bicycle to nearby area

- Nita (10/5): Memorable - Its located in a beautiful surroundings. Bedroom had views of mountains almost touching distance. Staff service was exceptional. Train line is running next to the hotel which starts 5am and last train between 11 - 12pm. This train hoots very loudly as it passes. It runs and 30 minutes.
- Tianling (10/5): - Friendly staff and good food and cocktails in the restaurant. Great mountain view from hotel. And there are two very very cute and photogenic Alpaca in the property. We booked the bungalow. It was fantastic for family of four. Two floors with two bedrooms (one bedroom with 1 large double bed and another bedroom with 2 double beds). And there are two bathrooms with bathtub. Great value for money.
Hotel provides airport pickup service from Cusco with reasonable price. Hotel is outside of ollantaytambo (15 to 20 min drive). Hotel provides taxi service back and forth to ollantaytambo. Hotel provides also drive service, if you want to see moray, maras and chinchero.
It would be perfect if the hotel WiFi is more stable. :-)

- Chung yi (9/5): - My families and I stayed one night on Nov. 30. Christian was really helpful for everything. The water in the room is not hot enough, he helped us change the room, moved the luggage, and fixed some room facilities. Katherine was also a great receptionist. She helped us with the delayed check out and other details. It was really good stay here with their help.

- Spencer (9/5): Spacious hotel with top notch service. - The service staff is really marvelous, very attentive and ready to help.
The grounds are spacious, two alpacas grazing merrily around the place. Various kinds of games are available, even a ps4.
- sarah (10/5): - Great host.
- Camila (1/5): - Nothing, I don’t recommend this place. I don’t recommend this hotel. I asked if a taxi could pick me up from Ollantaytambo and they said yes. When we arrived no one was there so I called and they send someone who didn’t know the very hard route to the hotel. I mean we had on the right the rail roads and on the left the cliff to the river. We never found the hotel, the driver was the worse (talking of the phone while driving in a dangerous road) and the hotel didn’t even apologize for the situation. Bad service for a 5 star hotel.
- jason (10/5): BEST IN PERU - This place is amazing, the staff the grounds etc. They have 2 alpacas that live on site so that was also really cool. The room we booked was more like a house. Two stories, 2 bedrooms, two bathrooms. It was amazing and we kept comparing everything to Del Pillar which was impossible to do because Del Pillar was the BEST. We especially loved the staff, they were incredible. Our favorite human was Audry, she was not only amazing but so incredible kind, she spent time with us playing games and teaching us language while we were sitting at the bar/restaurants. We really felt like VIP 1000% of the time, she played with our son, made recommendations on the town. Just an incredible human. Honestly Del Pillar was the best stay we had in Peru and the best staff, they even took care of me when I came down with altitude sickness. Just beyond grfeatful for them all. Everything was perfect.
Me voy profundamente agradecida.
- Emma (10/5): -
- David (10/5): -
- Pedro (10/5): Amazing - Everything The road was dark when I arrived so it was a little difficult to get there.
- Freja (10/5): - Beautiful hotel, great staff, wonderful stay
- Jane (10/5): Wonderful - This hotel is amazing and the staff are wonderful Audrey, Irvin and Eric are divine and I have nothing but praise for their exceptional service. A rare gem in a wonderful country. I will come back to this unique place and these beautiful people. In addition the breakfast is outstanding and the restaurant Michelin star quality. Just excellent ! Can’t fault a thing except the Alpacas wouldn’t let me cuddle them 😀
- jurate (9/5): Execellent - Bed mattress was not comfortable
- Tatiana (10/5): -
- Jimmy (7/5): Comfy but no 4 star service ! - New and clean ! Comfy ! Almost no English!
For a 4 star hotel you should have a swimming pool/spa jacuzzi for all the rooms, not only for the top end rooms . ( Spa jacuzzi )
Also a bottle of water in the room should be standard and not chargeable !
- Gonzalo (9/5): -
- Lewis (10/5): Perfect place - The property was extremely clean , customer service amazing the personal was very helpful I want to thanks especially Audrey the lady at the bar big help I lost my phone riding the bike and she help me find it on the long road we spent all day looking for it and Katherine the receptionist. Beautiful people . Cristian the receptionist very helpful too . Everyone is a team loved them . I highly recommend this place . Very calm the food was amazing. Audrey it’s awesome!!!
- Yolanda (5/5): -

- Andrea (10/5): Amazing relax stay! - Best hotel in the area, is a little far from the town but you will have an amazing and relax stay. Planning to come back with the whole family. The food in the hotel was amazing!
- Helen (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
- Steven (1/5): Horrible stay, everything went wrong from beginning to end in every way. All within control of hotel - Not much to like about this property other than the way it looks. Beautiful property, everything else is horrible Front desk staff, breakfast staff, bar staff, hotel makes promises they can’t meet. Overall one of the worst hotel stays I’ve had. Now if this hotel was cheap, Im ok with all the problems, but with the price we paid, what we got didn’t meet expectations, not even close
- Alma (10/5): Amazing property! Dinner was delicious - Very nice landscaping and cozy
- Maria (10/5): Exceptional - Gorgeous views from the room. There is a great playground for kids complete with hammocs where exhausted parents can relax😄
Llamas roam freely around the hotel.
Location is good, not too far from Ollantaytambo (maximum 15-20 minutes drive) No food outside of breakfast or dinner hours. Maybe you can try preordering it, but availability is not guaranteed. The bar was open though
- Mustafa (10/5): - The view from this property is absolutely gorgeous, and the people are really friendly, will definitely be back
- Mckee (10/5): Quiet estancia hotel with great staff and restaurant - Beautiful and discuss. Quiet, private and comfortable rooms. Friendly and helpful staff. We enjoyed our dinner and breakfast there. 20 minutes from Ollantaytambo by taxi. But a couple of alpaca live there, so…
- Gillian (7/5): Enjoyable and super comfortable stay outside of Ollantaytambo town but not quick or easy to access the train service to - The rural mountainous location was beautiful with lots of space for the children to run around and play, a small play area, fire pit and hammocks to relax. The bungalow was great with a separate room for the kids, living space and the hot tub on the terrace under the stars was fab! The beds were very comfortable with nice linen and modern, fully equipped bathrooms. The trains pass the front of the hotel and blast their horns loudly until 23.30pm and start again just after 5am! The breakfast was limited to eggs, bread, fruit and fruit juice. There was no drinking water provided in the room and complimentary tea in the room was not replaced each day.
There was a major diversion to access the hotel before you entered Ollantaytambo due to road closures on the road leaving the town up to the hotel which we only found out about from fellow travellers and had we not contacted the property to find out about it they would not have told us in advance. Unfortunately it added an extra 15-20 minutes on to our journey into Ollantaytambo meaning it was a 40 minute drive to Ollantaytambo train station instead of the 20 minutes it should have taken us to access the train station.
- Christina (8/5): - This was a beautiful place to stay. We loved our bungalow and the setting. The only negative is that it is so remote and hard to get anywhere. It would be so helpful if there was some shuttle service available into town.
- Boglarka (9/5): I'm glad I chose it for my stay in Ollantaytambo, it was so peaceful and nice - The property is very beautiful, surrounded by mountains. The staff spreaks English, and they will go out of their way to help you. The food was also nice. The location has it's pros and cons, it's out of the town so you need to take taxis and the prices can go crazy. Also the train is super close and it can be a bit loud but that's not the property's fault.
- Jamie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Katia (8/5): Very good -
- Amer (9/5): Breathtaking views, tranquil vibe, lovely staff, modern resort living. - The location is magical and the views breathtaking. The staff are super kind and caring, and the location allows for a peaceful vibe where you wake up surrounded by mountains and nature. We had one of the suites, and the modern style rooms and second floor jacuzzi tub facing the mountains is worth every penny. The breakfast had limited options, but the staff was super helpful and took off-menu orders (pancakes) for our kids. The dinner menu is nice but I wish it had more variety. That being said, the staff went out of their Way to help us order delivery pizza. Again, amazing staff!
- Brunocl (8/5): Very good rural hotel but with bad location - The hotel is very beautiful and confortable with big rooms. It has areas for fun, like pool and videogames. Beautiful seeing sites from montains. The location is very bad, far from everything; actually, I paid PEN 120,00 for the taxi, to pick and return us to the Ollantaytambo Train Station. Also, the breakfast is poor with few options.
- Katrina (10/5): What a gem - What a great find. After being disrupted by the Peru transport strike and hectic last minute arrangements to get out of Cusco finding this gem was terrific. Next trip to Peru I'll added this town and hotel as a destination.
- SAKETA (10/5): - Very beautiful place surrounded by mountains. Peaceful, dint feel like leaving. The staff is awesome, very kind.
- Bjorn (10/5): A hidden gem that should receive all the guests it can manage. - Clean, smart design and very comfortable Nothing
- Darexplorer (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rajesh (8/5): Excellent location with limited food options - Location of the property is excellent, nice property surrounded by beautiful mountains and snow peaks, rooms are nice and clean It’s not a lot to do in the property apart from relaxing as this is about 35 minutes drive away from the main plaza, food choice and drinks choice very limited considering it’s 4 star and that doesn’t reflect the price you pay as we didn’t have much choice either eat there or go out as taxi service is very limited
- michellepO328HF (10/5): Tranquil setting - Staff were so accommodating and helpful. Naysha from reception organised last minute trips/activities/bus tickets to Machu Picchu, nothing was a problem. Alejandro organised pick up for us from Cusco to the hotel. Beautiful setting surrounded by mountains, alpacas on site, beautiful rustic decor like an hacienda, games room had billiards/chess/poker tables and lots of games. Food was delicious, bungalow where we stayed was incredibly comfy and clean with a jacuzzi!
- Morales (10/5): Exceptional -
- Renee (10/5): Facilities are lovely. Price was good, hotel restaurant food is very tasty - Beautiful area - quiet. Little extra planning required it is a 30 minute ride to the railroad station.
- Devp93 (5/5): Not a 5 star hotel. Not in Ollantaytambo. - Alpacas on property and scenic views. To start with, our driver was 40 minutes late picking us up. They had sent him to the square rather than the station where we were (3 min drive apart). No apologies from the driver or the reception staff.
Reception staff completely unhelpful. No help with taking bags to the room. Not allowing extended check out to 12 when we were the only ones in the hotel. All would generally be okay but it is advertised as a 5 star hotel, so expect better service.
Location - the hotel is 30 - 40 mins drive from the station and you need a taxi to get there, costing 50 soles (around $13).
The room is dated too and poor shower pressure.
If you are thinking about staying here before or after visiting Machu Picchu, i advise you just go back to Cusco instead and get a taxi to the station/town the next day. No need to stay overnight here.
- luamingjie (8/5): Spacious 2nd level rooms with balcony - The room is equipped with mounted heaters and functional hot water showers. The wifi coverage is strong and quick speed. Do note that the outdoor walkways to the rooms are sheltered, so it might be cold for a brief seconds to get to the concierge. The blaring horns from the Peruvian Railway can be heard in the room occasionally throughout the day.
- Edoardo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Karen (10/5): - Beautiful, peaceful, nice place to stay. Friendly staff. We really enjoyed it. We visited Machu Pichu
And areas around the Sacred Valley. Highly recommend this place if you have transportation or can arrange it. The hotel might be able to help with that. We rented a car.
- Sailesh (9/5): A nice place for an overnight stay - The hotel is a bit far away from the main town and transportation is not that easy. As such, we stayed at the hotel for dinner.
- Pacheco (10/5): Very satisfied - very comfortable place far away from tourism area
- Liz (9/5): Superb -
- ayelip (10/5): Wonderful - Beautiful place. Amazing views. We stayed only night there but we definitely want to go back.
Fabian the chef and Lourdes were very attentive with us. We have a lovely stay. We really recomend this place. It is a little bit far from Ollantaytambo, but the ride there is 200% worth it.
- Wolfgang (10/5): Amazing stay! - The hotel Del Pilar Ollantaytambo is outstanding! it is situated about 20 minutes by car from Ollantaytambo in the beautiful valle de Vilcanota. Our room had a stunning view to the picturesque mountain. Everything in this hotel is precisely executed and decorated with lot of taste. The food is tasty and classy, the staff is kind and all the services are superb.
We failed to buy tickets for Machu Picchu online. Irvin (the manager of the hotel) and Karen (the front desk manager) noticed our struggle and did everything possible to help us. With their help we were ale to get successfully last minute tickets for Machu Picchu.
We will keep memories from the hotel as one of the best hotels we ever stayed in.
- Lahak (10/5): Exceptional -
- Roberta (9/5): Great chill place with amazing staff! - We loved the alpacas that wandered around the property. The staff are lovely and very helpful. Each time we came back there was tea in the lobby. It was a very peaceful, quiet place. Just what we wanted. There is a pool table if you are looking for something to do at night. If you want a lot of action going on, this might not be for you. The breakfast and dinners were fresh and tasty. We stayed in a room with a hot tub on the terrace and the water never really worked to fill it. That was the only negative.
- Anne (10/5): Beautiful hotel, friendly and helpful staff in a stunning location - The hotel is in a beautiful setting- the view from the rooms is stunning. The rooms themselves are very comfortable and there is lots of calm outside space to relax. Everyone was friendly and helpful. They helped us to arrange trips into the surrounding area and made great recommendations for what to do. The food in the restaurant is also good. I can’t fault anything about our stay., N/a
