- Jennifer (1/5): Nightmare experience with the staff! - We have always chosen Hilton properties but the entire process at this Hilton location was a nightmare. The staff!!!!! My husband received a call on the morning that he was to check in that he needed to update his card information however it made him feel uncertain to update his card over the phone. We called the Hilton location to change the card and were told it needs to be updated through booking. Within minutes it was updated through booking with a confirmation email at 8:53am. My husband drove to Augusta to be with his children because their mother had passed away. He went immediately to be with them and didn’t get to the hotel until 7pm to check in. When he arrives he is told that the Hilton servers were down and there was nothing they could do for him. They kept going back to the fact that he didn’t change his card over the phone and they couldn’t confirm that he had updated his card. They did not call booking to confirm the updated information from 11 hours before, they did absolutely nothing to get him into a room. He was told by Karen Brown that he would not be charged because they cannot check him in. Being mentally drained he went over to another hotel who immediately got him in to a room. The next day we see a charge by the HILTON for his room stay. I called and spoke to a woman who told me there was nothing she could do to reverse the charge and that he was still showing in their system until Sunday. I get placed on hold and then the line disconnected this happened not once but twice! I called back and get Karen Brown on the line who was a complete and total nightmare. She all of sudden couldn’t talk to me but only to my husband who did not make the reservation but would only speak to him, I bring him on the line (mind you he is dealing with grieving children!) and Karen would not speak to me because I was “argumentative”. Would not provide her last name, never apologized for all of the excess stress, never apologized for no room being available, and never apologized for our card being charged.

- Anisah (5/5): Ms. Tricia was the best! - I loved the hospitality that Ms. Latricia Kirk gave. She went above and beyond to ensure my husband and I had what we needed to enjoy our breakfast. I would say the breakfast was good, a new toaster oven is needed and the fruit was delicious! Things are also fixed in a timely manner. The thing I didn’t like is I found two bugs in my room. The first one was crawling on the headboard, not sure what it was, but the second one was a flying roach 🤢.
- Shawanda (2/5): Very disappointed - The hotel was clean!! The TV in the room did not work, I notified the receptionist and she responded back hours later. Hours later, I called the number to the hotel and she answered and tried to have me trouble shoot their TV issue, later, like, 3/4am I was told that maintenance was unavailable. The TV stated network wasn't available. The Direct TV seems a bit out of date, I'm used to other services, like logging into my Netflix account. I wasn't able to log onto the Internet initially, after speaking with the receptionist who knew absolutely nothing, she provided a number to help me log on. She did not know which WIFI was for guess usage. I spoke to the 1800 guy around 4am. I wish I would have stayed at another location.

They leave the food out until 10:00am which gives you time to get down and eat. We would definitely recommend this hotel just because of the breakfast… The room was very nice and clean. We stayed in 401 which has a view of the pool.

The food tastes exceptionally well and full of flavor; the carnitas, the BBQ pulled meat, Oatmeal, Grits, EVERYTHING!!! I had to ask who’s the chef and the lovely lady Ms. April was the mastermind behind the dish’s… Now I’m not a morning person, but thank GOD they offer Breakfast til 10am, because I then made sure I was up to enjoy breakfast every morning… So thank you to the AGM Ms. Tabitha for being present on the property and being seen engaging with the guests and staff, helping me with my business fax and for employing a great chef & awesome person Ms. April… (My review comes from being a former Marriott Mgr, so I know EXCELLENCE and true [old fashion] Customer Service when I see it) I will 100% be back business or personal… ~Blessings, Jacqueline

Ms. April always greets me with a smile at breakfast and she makes sure I have what I need. Mo one of the housekeeping supervisors is outstanding. She makes sure my room is clean no matter what shift I am working. Mo is a true asset to the Homewood Suites she is always positive and happy to make sure my stay is great.

As someone far from home, serving in the military and attending school, Mrs. April's warmth and care made a significant difference in my experience. Every morning, when I came to the dining area, she not only prepared delicious oatmeal but also took the time to make me feel welcome. Her encouraging words and friendly conversation helped ease my homesickness and made me feel more comfortable. The little pep talks she shared meant more to me than she might realize. Coming from Korea and being away from my family, her compassion reminded me of home. The way she prepared my favorite breakfast and always greeted me with a smile made my days brighter and easier. - Lora (10/5): Nice property - The hotel was sold out. The room we were given was a handicap accessible room (we did not request this). The room was hot and we literally had to turn til he AC all the way down and it cooled off in the middle of the night (this repeated all 3 nights we were there). The ceiling fan over the bed would not work unless the light was on as well. The shower leaked and the kitchen sink sprayed water onto the floor. It is a very nice hotel and the staff was friendly but that room was not a good one.

One is the pool was “closed due to a maintenance issue” and I feel as it is an amenity to the property that was part of our decision to stay here there should be some small compensation for the inconvenience, but the staff just shrugged their shoulders. The second issue was the hot water not working in our room. When I informed the front desk they proceeded to ask if I turned it on correctly or gave it enough time making me feel dumb. They later confessed they had been having that problem with that particular room. While they did the right thing and gave us another room they made me feel stupid first which was highly inappropriate
- 789jazzyw (6/5): Cold Shower - The hotel was clean and quiet, so I was impressed with the management of the property. I must give the hotel a low review because the water for the shower was cold. I told the front desk and they gave me another room which also had lukewarm water. Then they fessed up that the maintenance worker was not there to fix it. So they rented rooms knowing the water was lukewarm. After a long day of walking and exploring, I could not take a warm shower. I will not be returning.

My card was charged 8am in the morning prior to my arrival without my knowledge. Called facility and front desk clerk reported she did only because her facility was close to capacity. I explained to her I had not left town to head to the location, I was told that it would be done when I got there and it was not even checkin time. I expressed to her my disappointment in this due to this has never happen before with using booking.com.

The sausage patties was like rubber and didn't even taste real. Coffee tasted like it was made at 6am and was cold

- Venski (2/5): - We were ask to leave the lounge area of the hotel, first we thought we were loud, the said we were not. I explained we there with our 90 year old celebrating her birthday, pointed her out sitting in tv area. The was a 15 of us, and each of us were 50plus in age. We packed ourselves in my aunt's room and continued to have a great night. In the the past 4 years we have had at least 3 family events at that location with no complaints and booked at least 20rooms each time. Never had an issue with the lounge area. My family does not want to return to this location
- Aneka (10/5): - Great stay for a quick weekend visit to the Fort Eisenhower Army Base which is less than 10min away! It was convenient and very clean with a friendly and helpful staff. For example, the staff "saved the day" when we almost had a very unpleasant food experience using Grub Hub. There aren't a lot of food options in walking distance, so we ordered out. Unfortunately, the restaurant delivered our food to the wrong hotel, Hampton Inn, in front of Homewood Suites and we had to drive to the other hotel in the rain to pick up the order. Already off to a bad start. Then they forgot to include condiments, salad dressing, utensils and the food was cold. We asked the hotel staff for assistance and they quickly offered us condiments and dressing from their kitchen. Thankfully we were also able to use the microwave and cutlery in our hotel suite which made up for what would have been a really bad food experience. Based off these small but meaningful experiences we'll plan to stay here the next time we visit our son at the Army Base!

No where did it state that you need a major credit card. They would not accept my credit union debit card or credit card. Which is the card I booked with and they took a $1 payment from. I would think at that point they would have called me and said we can not accept this form of payment. I was 5 hours away from home and had to find last minute accommodations due to this hotel’s negligence of informing customers of payment methods they can or can not take. Staff was rude and condescending, not knowledgeable about bank’s outside of the area

Their hospitality & that of all the staff I encountered in general from the cleaning staff to janitors have all been exceptional. Coupled with the full kitchen & workspace set up, I literally felt at home away from home!

- amandao55 (10/5): Relaxing weekend in a clean nice hotel - We were greeted with friendly front door staff evertime we entered the hotel. The front reception/sitting area is rather large and the fire place was on making for a warm reception on this chilly evening. The room itself is very nice, the kitchen has two burners, a microwave, a full fridge and dishes for a family of four as well as pots and pan. There is a desk area with space to spread out and a lamp. The sofa is a hotel sofa, so stiff and not too comfy but clean. The large TV is in between the sofa and bed so it could be seen from either but would need to be turned. A turntable for the TV would be a nice addition. The shower was clean with glass sliding doors and shower gel/conditioner and shampoo available. The water was very hot! It was a really nice shower. The bed was comfortable, pillows are a tad too soft for me, but there are two so you can pile them up. The room AC is adjustable and definitely heated and cooled well. The room was vacuumed and appeared clean, but was dusty behind the TV (we had to pull it out as the cable was misbehaving) and the bottom of the lamps/baseboards are dusty. The free breakfast was nice! Sometimes the hotel breaksfasts are meager. This was not. First day was biscuits, gravy, sausage, pre made omelets (slightly rubbery), oatmeal with fruit, brown sugar and nuts, yogurt, cereal, boiled eggs, OJ, coffee, milk and tea. Second day was grits instead of oatmeal and potatoes instead of biscuits. The ladies in the breakfast area are soo sweet. One of them told me today that they take care of their customers and this is the best Homewood suites, she just wishes she could stay here :). apparently you can't stay if you work here. They were So kind and attentive. If we ever ran into staff they smiled and were kind. My husband said to me "they must have good management to have staff who appear happy". In the eating area: The seats were clean, available and no crumbs etc on the tables. Outside the parking lot is well lit, but some of the parking lot is a dirt lot which was not as nice. Overall I am very grateful to have found this hotel. GREAT stay. It was too cold to even think about the hotel pool...so I don't know and did not visit the gym. I did notice that there were construction workers staying here, and using the grill out back two evenings we were here. I thought that was great that they had that as an option. It says something that people are staying here for long term stays. I saw a travel nurse here as well. You can't go wrong staying here! I saw one of the negative reviews, she was NOT reviewing this hotel. She must have picked the wrong one to review by accident. This is a nice hotel!

- duanebae (2/5): Unorganized and poorly managed - Where do I start? When I arrived my room was dirty. The washing machines take quarters but the front desk NEVER HAS ANY. If you are here for longer than a weekend you will need to wash at another place. All of the outside doors are BROKEN and they make you come in through the side doors which is sketchy at night. The upkeep on the amenities is just horrible. Everything is BROKEN! and the pool is closed and filthy. The place is surrounded by dark wooded areas so at night it’s pitch black (and they expect you to walk around the building to get to the SIDE DOOR because they lock the front door at night. The breakfast is not that great, but it’s free. The staff are nice but management clearly doesn’t know how to manage and upkeep a facility! I’ll never stay here again.

She went above and beyond greeting me at the front door, informing me of the social events that evening and even offering to have additional water and towels brought up if needed. Because of her I will always stay at this hotel when I come into town.
