Guest Reviews
- Edith (10/5): - The host was very responsive and helpful. The location is amazing.
- Tim (10/5): - Great place in the middle of town. Parking was quick and easy in the garage across the street. Walking distance to everything in Staunton. We'll stay here again on our next trip to the Shenandoah.
- Kate (10/5): - Great place to stay in charming Staunton!
- Esther (10/5): - This was a very unique hotel in that it used to be a coffee shop and has now been converted to a small hotel. The upstairs apartment is divine. Loved the furnishings and decor. And the downstairs with the bar/coffee area is so fun. It is a wonderful concept and you will definitely enjoy your stay here. Bed and pillows are comfy, self check in is a breeze, and you’ll feel like a store owner during your stay. It’s absolutely the definition of Extraordinary!
- Beverly (10/5): - Very spacious accommodations. Easy check in and checkout. Easy parking. Lots of good stuff within walking distance - but be prepared for hills
- Heather (10/5): - Stay was amazing probably one of the best that I’ve ever experienced
- Rosemarie (10/5): - Cute hotel. Parking deck noisy, but weekend event happening. Would definitely stay again. Bed very comfortable. Great location.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Really clean, nice, no perfume/air freshener going on (thank you!!) and great location
- BEVERLY A (10/5): Super stay at the Storefront - Lovely stay, perfect location and the town was great for a couple of days
- Andew (8/5): A fund and great place to escape! - The Storefront was a great place to stay. The location is amazing, walking distance to everything in Staunton. The space was clean and bright. We had no trouble accessing the unit and the owner was helpful and attentive before our arrival. The Storefront is a great change in pace from a standard hotel.
- Robert (8/5): Great potential for hosting a party while visiting - The Storefront is a good place for a couple who want a place where they can entertain some friends in the evening while visiting Staunton. The downstairs bar and TV room (the "storefront" part of the property) would be a great venue for entertaining, for example, a group of 4-6 friends who had rooms at the Stonewall Jackson Hotel across the street. One serious flaw is that the downstairs area is NOT stocked with glassware for such entertaining, and there are only 5 sorta-water/wine glasses upstairs in the kitchen. So you would need to find/bring your own bar ware for a group. The downstairs has a powder room, so evening visitors don't need to use the upstairs full bath. Another hitch to be aware of is that the single thermostat is in the downstairs bar area. We were there on a night in the 30's, and the entire upstairs got too warm for comfortable sleeping. I had to get up twice to go downstairs to turn the thermostat down--eventually to 62 F--to keep the bedroom area comfortable, even with a book holding one of the large windows in the bedroom open for ventilation. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils, but the tableware and glassware are on the thin side for serving any more than two people. With a little extra furnishing and better temperature control, this would be a great property for hosting an intimate party for friends.

- Renee (10/5): - This was my first visit and I was pleasantly surprised and pleased! It was everything the website reviewed. I look forward to returning in the later year for the fall.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It's private and comfortable, right in the middle of Staunton's charming downtown, an easy walk to restaurants, shops, and attractions such as the American Shakespeare Center/Blackfriars Playhouse.
- kyle (10/5): Uber cool space! Perfect location - Perfect for romantic getaway or hub for family and parties
- Christopher (10/5): Wonderful Spot - Great little hotel right in the center of an awesome town! Terry, the owner, was great when we called him about the key code. He answered on the first ring and was super patient with us while we figured it out. Easy in and out from the highway and parking directly across the street. We’ve already recommended it and will be back next year!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Unique and pleasant experience - I would definitely return to The Storefront. Nice place and it is close to everything downtown.
- Brian (8/5): Business Trip - Convenient to my meetings in a great little historic town. Could walk to everything! Historic sites, restaurants, theatres and shops.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This was the perfect fit for our family..
