- Qing (6/5): - Good location close to many restaurants and bars. Nice balcony to eat and see the ocean view from the distance. Easy parking on the street. As a guest you can hang out at the sister hostel as well which is closer to the beach Wasn’t expect a fancy room, but the room was really small with little room to move around for 2 people, window was quite small and the room smells moldy. AC was really loud so couldn’t sleep well. The toilets on third floor don’t flush properly so we have to always go down to second floor, but the toilets were quite dirty when we stayed. Hostel also didn’t organize any events for people, although I managed to make a new friend via the WhatsApp group that’s shared with the sister hostel
- Edward (7/5): - It was ok Room too Cold

- Stephanie (10/5): Must stay - Near the airport, & the plácita of course car was needed they also had street parking.
They also provided towels & blanket. Nothing negative

- Gustavo (10/5): My Go-To Hostel in San Juan - I have been to this hostel many times and its my go to when I go to San Juan. I ended up getting a private room as it was my bday and I enjoyed it very much. The hostel is always clean and the beach is not that far of a walk from there. Some times there was no one around. Limited front desk staff, but the staff that does work there is really nice.

- Duwaun (6/5): Great value! - The Calle Loiza location was walking distance to the beach, restaurants and stores. The staff were very helpful. Krys and Chris made sure that if we needed anything they addressed it promptly. It's also has another location close by with a pool that you're able to use. The water cut off a couple of times.

- Magdalena (7/5): Clean hostel - Close to the beach, clean. You can rent lock for lockers which helps if you forgot yours. They let me hold luggage after checkout. Wifi was bad, kept loosing connection.
Staff not very pleasant.
- Sidratul (6/5): - It was clean, I have to give them that. The room was a fair size and the kitchen was nice too. It's a very old building and the shower looks like one from the 1800s but it's clean and it works In booking.com, when I contacted the property regarding early check in, they explicitly said that they will check in any time and I just need to let them know the time. Our flight landed at 3 am so we wanted to check in at 4 am. But when we went there, someone answered the intercom but they did not let us in! It's a bad unsafe area and we were waiting outside which was extremely unsafe at that time. We had to go back to the airport and spend the night there. If they can't check in earlier than a specific time, they should NOT be telling customers they will
- Marlit (7/5): Alles gut!
- Arkdiusz (8/5): Good stay in Nomada Urban Beach Hostel- Calle Loiza - + Good contact with reception
+ Very kind and helpfull staff
+ Comfort of room and bed
+ Free Wi-Fi
+ Comfortable bathroom
+ Nice restaurant around
+ Nice Kitchen area - Possibility to leave luggage after check out with additional charge

- Michael (8/5): - It was a nice stay for the price and location. Can't really complain about anything but the shower. The water pressure is very low and the water is either very hot or very cold. If it wasn't for that this would be a 5 star. Thanks

- Cecilia (3/5): Super Noisy, I WAS EXHAUSTED! - The location was not bad honestly, the beach was very close, had some restaurants and cafes nearby. The facilities were ok. There needs to be a way to control guests. I spent 4 nights there and slept around 3-4 hours each night because people were yelling and partying just outside the door, others were going in and out turning lights on and off. I left Puerto Rico sleep deprived because of the level of noise.
I know you can say it's not the hostel's fault, but it is.. if this happens once that is okay but EVERY.SINGLE.NIGHT like I would have gotten more sleep if I had slept on the beach..., water pressure in shower is really bad and water is luke warm. Bed was super low.
- El bachir (10/5): - The best and I’ll come here again for sure
- Keba (10/5): - Loved the Nomada staff... very helpful, friendly and welcoming. Upon entry I can smell and see the cleaning lady going in with the bleach, so I knew upon entry that they took cleanliness serious.
- Rachel (10/5): - Everything was great! The lobby/lounge area is super cute & comfy for hanging out, and the roof has a (distant) view of the ocean which is very relaxing. The private room was basic but comfortable. Though I was nervous about shared bathrooms, I didn’t have any issues during my stay! Everything is kept super clean; there weren’t many other guests at the time I was there, but those who were there were respectful of the shared space. Bianca & Annie at the front desk are amazing — both gave us very helpful tips for our trip! 10/10 would stay again.
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chase (10/5): - Great place to stay—I actually found out about it on Reddit. I booked a private room (not the hostel), and the experience was excellent. I ended up needing to extend my stay by three nights with very short notice, and the staff was super helpful and accommodating. One day I got a late start (slept in after a great night out), and they were still flexible and made the extension process easy. Overall, really chill vibe and great service. Would definitely return. Clean, safe, and the shared bathrooms are never busy it’s no big deal
- Anonymous (10/5): I love NOMADA HOTEL! 😀 - I enjoy the peaceful vibe and cheerful staff. Everyone was very nice. I am thankful to have received so much help from Krys. She was so amazing! She help me with a lot of things, the internet being one of them. We shared such a pleasant conversation about San Juan.
- Elsa (8/5): Good stay - Location. Street noise.
- Edward (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was great! Everything was great!
- Christopher (10/5): - The staff was friendly at this hostel.
- Edward (10/5): Exceptional - Everything All Good
- Earlzom Dave (10/5): -
- Rozsa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Valarie (6/5): It was fine,a good experience - It was a kind of rough area, but the Beach was in walking distance!!!
- Trock96 (9/5): One of the Best Hostel Experiences - The room was simple but trendy, and the beds were very comfortable. I really appreciated the in-unit AC and quietness of the floor. The bathrooms were well-maintained and clean. The floor windows were open so it was a bit loud when cars or motorcycles rolled past.
- Anderson (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rob (9/5): Superb -
- Melanie (9/5): Superb -
- Bethany (7/5): Rustic, overpriced private room. - The good: The location is on a bus line. There is a small, city beach nearby. The kitchen and bathrooms are cleaned daily. The bad: The room is very dark, fully concrete, with one window opening to an indoor hallway. The beds are too low to the floor. There is no furniture for placing belongings, making it necessary to keep everything in the suitcase, on the floor. The staff behave as though they have meet too many needy tourists.
- Kayla (7/5): Good - I felt safe because there were cameras and there’s a buzzer at the door. Also, the girls I stayed with were nice I wish they would give more of a heads up if someone was arriving at the all female dorm. Also, the bathrooms need better ventilation because it smelled at some points.
- Leonardo Patron (2/5): - .
- Samuel (7/5): Good -
- Lyna (6/5): Pleasant - The location was great, easy to park around, never had to wait for a shower. Well equipped kitchen and nice balcony. They sent me so many messages before arrival so obviously the one with the important info got lost in there, I did not see I had to fill in an online form and had to do it at reception while still carrying all my things. This process could be improved: think that some of your guests do not have data while traveling and cannot follow all the emails.
The room was tiny and without any windows and no table so we had to open our bags on the floor; my provided towel was stained; they have so many extra fees in the policy that are ridiculous (if you stain the towel it's 15$ but they provided a stained one?!). Does not feel welcoming.
The price is ok but for just a few extra bucks I booked an amazing hotel in the same neighborhood which was much better.
If you're solo and looking for a dorm I guess it's ok but I wouldn't come back for a private room.
- Will (7/5): Good - Easy to get around the island. Very close to the beach as well as bus lines to get around the city. Easy to meet people and go exploring. No real amenities to speak of. The room/facilities were pretty run down but for somewhere to crash, it was fine.
- Nina (3/5): As someone who frequently stays in hostels, I would not recommend this one based on my experience. - Location: The hostel is conveniently located, just a 15-minute walk from the beach, which is definitely a big plus for those wanting to be close to the ocean and enjoy the local vibes.
Affordability: Given its location and price, it offers decent value for budget travelers. Misleading Photos: The pictures on the website do not accurately reflect the reality of the hostel. The space felt much different than what was portrayed online.
Cleanliness: Unfortunately, cleanliness was an issue. For instance, the trash bin in the bathroom was left full the entire day on a Saturday, which was very unpleasant. Also, there was only one sink shared by several rooms, which caused some inconvenience.
Pest Issues: There were pigeons flying around in the kitchen area, which definitely added to the discomfort. Not the kind of thing you want to experience while preparing food.
Shared Facilities: The shared spaces, like the kitchen and bathrooms, felt overcrowded and were not well-maintained, which took away from the overall comfort of the stay.
While Nomada Hostel has some great aspects, like its location close to the beach, the issues with cleanliness, maintenance, and the misleading presentation of the space leave much to be desired. As someone who frequently stays in hostels, I would not recommend this one based on my experience.
- Shelton (1/5): I didn’t get to stay because they overbooked, but was still charged. - Nothing. I was unable to see it because they overbooked, then continued to charge me the full price plus $75 even though I didn’t stay there. Nothing. I was unable to see it because they overbooked, then continued to charge me the full price plus $75 even though I didn’t stay there.
- Lourdes (5/5): Passable -
- Gabriel (8/5): Nice experience! Thanks - The room was nice, clean, and the AC was working very well. Folks around the room were a little bit too noisy late (around 10.30PM ish)
- Carlos (8/5): Very good -

- Vivien (7/5): Nice place to stay - Good location close to the beach Breakfast isn’t included
- Alina (5/5): Passable -
- Emily (1/5): Bad -
- Stephanie (8/5): Very good - Great staff Showers weren’t great. After all it is a hostal.
- Daylue (10/5): - Cool set up. But no hot water, friendly staff, felt safe!
- zurine (2/5): - Steffany The girl at checking it’s the most rude and unhappy person i have ever experience , will be better not having a recepcionist than having this girl , i hope she finds a Job that she likes !
- Maryna (10/5): Exceptional - Very convenient location. The property is a beautiful maze, the view from the kitchen and the rooftop is amazing. Curtains on the beds give fantastic feeling of privacy. Good working showers.
- Maryna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Teon (8/5): - It was a nice spot. Obviously not spectacular but very accomodating and convenient if you’re gonna be in and out alot. Not gonna be staying at hostels too much after this because hearing someone snoring like a growling bear is not ideal when trying to sleep. But I guess that's what you paid for. Other than that not a bad stay!
- Andre (10/5): - Grear place to stay , will definitely go back .
- Hugo (8/5): Very good -
- Yanira (10/5): - The staff are very friendly and helpful at all time.
- Jacqueline (8/5): Very good - Stayed at the Calle Loiza location. Great staff, helpful and informative. Great location, close to many restaurants and beach. Loved that you're able to use the pool at their sister hostel in Isla Verde! Heads-up, you will have to climb stairs at Loiza St. location.
- Katrin (8/5): Very good - Quiet, good location for airport
- Kelly (10/5): - This hostel was clean, comfortable, and quiet ☺️
- Peggy (7/5): Good -
- Polica (10/5): Perfect for friends and solo travelers. - It was clean and comfy. I liked it and will visit again. I didn't explore outside too much and took users everywhere. The other location was fun as well. I can't wait to come back. I think I'll stay at the other location though. It wasn't as refreshed and new as it looked in the photos. But I was okay with what I got and my experience. The other location looked more aesthetically pleasing. It's loud outside sometimes but if youre used to city life, youll be okay.
- Hannah Eloise (10/5): - This was my first hostel stay and it convinced me to keep traveling with hostels. Everything was so clean, accessible, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Great local recommendations, perfect location with a bus stop and walking distance from the beach.
- Natalie (10/5): - Great place to stay! Friendly staff and well-maintained. Also close to the beach and in a good location where there was lots to do.
- Daga (8/5): Very good -
- Barinder (1/5): Bad - Nothing it's disgusting I never recommend to someone to waste there money Honestly I don't like I book room when I reached there I paid my room for 3 days for 320 dollars I see the room it's is terrible. The room is very old building. The bathroom is old type nothing is updated the room is too much suffocated it's humidity bad smell 😫 when i ask on reception the reason that i cant able to breath in room they say room is not open for last 2 weeksI direct came out and ask for another room unfortunately they all are same
I leave the hotel can't able to stay in this shit place .I loose my money 💰 🤑 its one of bad experiences in life then I book another hotel and pay 500 dollars for 3 nights so I pay double times I never recomm
- Ed (9/5): clean, nice, comfy and easy - Kitchen had good facilities and it was near lots of beaches in walking distance The staff were sometimes a little unfriendly and the other guests all had an average age of 30+
- Samuel (8/5): N/A - N/A N/A
- Eitan (3/5): Didn't meet my expectations and poor social company as was suggested. - General facilities were good. The Hostel is cute, but I wouldn't return there for the following reasons:
1. Extremely low water pressure in the bathroom.
2. Noise from the road all day and night long.
3. Location is poor.
4. Doesn't worth the value paid for the room.
5. No good beaches adjacent to the Hostel.
- Cecelia (8/5): - Overall stay was decent but communication need improvement and I still have not gotten my deposit back!!!!.
- Jason (2/5): - Worse place ever
- Javier (10/5): - Nice place
- Beatriz (5/5): Passable - The place in general looks good, but it needs maintenance and better cleaning Furniture and bedsheets stained, AC leaking, we had a private room where the only window was leading to a hallway, not expected.
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kirsti (8/5): A great value for the money - The beds were great, kitchen was good and the fact that there weren't too many people in the hostel, so small rooms for two persons were great. For the money you pay for staying here the place is really good. There were ants in the room but this was a very small issue, didn't really mind them.
The AC was blowing to our faces when we slept even though we put the temperature quite high.
The location was good in a sense that you could walk to the beach, but apparently the area wasn't the safest.
