Guest Reviews

- Danilo (8/5): - It’s a very tropical area with many trees, gardens, tropical vegetation and mosquitoes if it rains. It’s near the central area but you can take a mototaxi for just US$1. The swimming pool is good and there are many other activities to do there but the best it’s walking all around the Colonial Area. Good restaurants, museums, churches and if you go for a cultural event it will be even better.
- Rodriguez (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mitchel (8/5): - Nice property, rooms have to be check regularly for checking that everything works fine.
- Maria (10/5): - Es muy buena
- juan fernando (10/5): - Love this plce
- Juan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Klever (9/5): Superb - Staff very friendly Pool is too small for the amount of people
- Scott (10/5): - We really enjoyed our stay. The property is in good condition and a fairly easy (steep hill, short walk) to town. There are plenty of activities. The staff is nice. Would recommend.
- Shirlene (8/5): Very good - Their food and service place was spotless. That there wasn't any wifi like it was informed.
- juan (10/5): Awesome - Great place to stay. Many amenities for children. Close to everything. Service is awesome. We will come again!!
- luis (8/5): - my son love the pool and mini golf.the room has ac which is perfect becouse is very hot.the food was good and the service was excellent
- epinilla (8/5): Mr. - Great hotel, good food, great for family or couple. Has everything you need, from spa to massages, and sauna. Also plenty of games for the family and minigolf. Great place to relax at a reasonable price. Cant go wrong.
- Libardo (8/5): - Bueno
- garrickt2016 (10/5): Amazing place with a ton to offer - This place is one of the best I’ve been to in Colombia. It’s perfect for a family or for couples and friends. It has a ton of activities and pretty much everything you could want to keep you entertained.
Some loser in a previous comment stated he was charged for things when he checked out. Yes, breakfast lunch and dinner is included with a drink with each meal. If you order from the food menu or bar you will have to pay the price stated (which is reasonable). disregard that idiots review and come and enjoy this paradise. Highly recommend.
- Jaime (8/5): Refugio Acogedor - Pequeño, acogedor, personal muy atento!
- Leogris (8/5): - The room is not a chalet as it was indicated at the time of booking. The room has a hot tub not a Jacuzzi. Other services such as the existing jacuzzis have an additional charge to the guests. The menu is good and present a large variety of local dishes. The only thing is that the desert could be a bit monotonous. In overall all was ok and the treatment we received was up to our expectations. The hotel is close to the central square of Santa Fe town.
Tonusco campestre is a great place to be if you visit Santa Fe de Antioquia , I went there with my wife for three days and we really enjoy everything , the food is delicious , the place is clean and the most important thing the people are so nice and kind all the time , we saw a lot of USA tourists in there , the price is so cheap , usually the money you pay at the beginning includes breakfast, lunch and dinner and if you decide to get some drinks or alcohol that’s separate and you pay at check out , the massage are great and is not expensive eather , you can ride on a horse for only 20.000 Colombian pesos and that’s like $9 dollars I’m sure if you decide to go there you will have a lot of fun so good luck .
- tklokie2 (2/5): I was charged extra fees at Check Out - I stayed in this resort for a week, back in February. I was drinking and eating food. I thought this all was included. But at the end of my trip, I was shown a huge bill. Apparently, they remember your room number, and keep a tab without telling you.
I still do not know what is included, and what is not. I thought food was included, but apparently it is not (at least some food is not). Drinks are NOT included.
I wish the prices were move obvious when ordering drinks. Also, nobody speaks English, so that made this harder.
Overall, I was charged 100,000 throughout the week. This is not a big deal, but something to watch out for.
I had a good time, but the check out was a bit disappointing.
- Pranav (10/5): A unique find nestled away down the hill from town - I thought this place was quite a gem. A unique find nestled away down the hill away from the center of town. Beyond the comforts of the room and facilities, what really makes it so special is their staff. They were so warm and welcoming and were especially patient with me and my lack of Spanish, although I did a lot of my communicating with the owner, Mario, who is onsite and is available most of the time, and who is fluent in English.
I'll tell you what really separates this place among the other choices you may have for lodging. They are VERY RELAXED with whatever you want to do. What I mean by that is just about anything you want, within reason, is available to you. I don't even know where to start. There are so many amenities on site that will keep you entertained for a nice relaxed stay. The bar is open 24 hours. The pool is large and has play areas set up for volley ball, basketball, water polo. The kitchen is open almost all day, and serves delicious meals. There is also a nice steam room and sauna on site. They have a couple outdoor jacuzzi that one can use for a nominal hourly rate. They even an area where they provide massage services at very affordable prices. There are many amusements on site like billiards, ping pong, air hockey, mini golf, as well as an assortment of other smaller games. They even have bikes that you can borrow and use for free to ride all over town.
All in all a very peaceful and fun all inclusive stay at Hosteria Tonusco Camp
- john (10/5): great place - place was clean and the staff excellent..food was very good.....pool and outside area was well kept
- CA1714 (4/5): It's ok - Went there for two nights, check in was not fast but not slow either. Rooms are ok looking, old TV, ran down washroom, washroom door made loud noise every time i opened or closed . If you want he hot tub jets there's an extra fee. Front entrance was wide opened so anyone can probably come in and break into any rooms if they really wanted to. There were only two choices of meals at any given time (breakfast, lunch and dinner) So you either eat one or the other and if you don't like it well you're SOL. Staff was nice, swimming pool is too small for the amount of people. There were guys smoking MARIJUANA by the mini golf area and no one seemed to have smelled it but me or no one cared, but when there's kids around maybe people should be more careful. My second night there the next door people were playing loud music up untill at least 06:00 the next day. Even though there was a sign that after certain time you have to keep it down. Not sure that i would go back.
- Rick (10/5): Great hotel, very close to the town center.
- The hotel was excellent from check in to check out!
Room was great! AC worked very well, Jacuzzi and everything!
The staff was great, apart from one member, a waitress in the morning breakfast, was very distant and cold.
I was very pleasant to her and she was just not a happy person.
Maybe having a bad day.
I mentioned it to another waitress, and she stated that she is just like that.
Strange to have a staff member like that when the rest of the staff were absolutely fabulous.
Overall, Excellent!
I'll be back for sure!
- sacredheart347 (8/5): Super spot - Do yourself a favor and get out of medellin and stay up here 4 2nights. So many things to do mini putt\ private hot tub \
Horseback ride 6bux\ pool/ pool tables\ free bikes 4 town etc...
Food average at best but staff and owner
Were amaza
- Sirbob64 (10/5): Colombian Hospitality - By far, one of the best adventures I have had, while living in Medellin, Colombia. Santa Fe Antioquia, located just 80km from Medellin, is a trip you can't miss doing. You travel high into the mountains, then go through the Tunnel of the North ( the longest tunnel in Colombia ). By building this tunnel, in 2006, it made access to many of the fantastic cultural and diverse pueblos, in the region. While in Santa Fe, which is in a tropical valley, you will need to dress lightly, since it is quite hot. It only takes about an hour to see the town, but the adventure starts when you arrive at Hosteria Tonusco Campestre. You are met by some of the most hospitable people I have met. They escort you to your cabana, and then highlight the fantastic amenities. Including, saunas, Jacuzzi, steamroom, the exercise area and the great poll. This is much needed to get out of the blazing hot sun. An oasis, in the tropics. This is an all inclusive Hosteria, with 3 great meals in a beautiful restaurant and bar. Late night is great with music and fantastic service. Best part, the price is the best in the area.
- MarianitaP_13 (10/5): Great Place - Visited Tonusco last november and even thought I was born in Colombia I had never had the pleasure of visiting them. I went with my grandmother and brother and we all had a great time, all the employees make sure we comfortable, they remembered my grandmas' dietary restrictions and gave us plenty of choices. They treated her with a lot of respect and they would offer her something to drink or to eat every now and then to make sure she was enjoying herself.
The place looks great, its very clean and organized. they sure met my expectations, also they treated all guest with the same kindness, some tourist were Americans, Canadians and us who blended right in with the locals. I cant wait to go back!!
- PhilBello (8/5): Anniversary Retreat - We went here for the first time, for our wedding anniversary, not knowing quite what to expect. However it is a gem hidden just outside Santa Fe de Antioquia, I say hidden because we could not find it, and they had to rescue us from the town.
The grounds are laid out beautifully, with rooms/suites of different sizes, a nice touch being that they have names instead of numbers. There is a mini gym, sauna, turkish bath, jacuzzi, swimming pool with a baby area. Restaurant and Bar, there is also a poolside bar service throughout the day.
The Staff are very friendly, and efficient, but no English spoken. The Restaurant, serves local dishes, there is no menu, but they will accommodate you, if you do not like what is on offer. The only criticism, and it is a minor one, is that on the drinks list they show Cocktails, unfortunately, they do not appear to have any one capable to mixing them, the answer to that would be to remove them from the list, rather than trying to provide what is obviously not a common request.
You can also just go there for the day, arrive in the morning, pay, lunch included, and leave late afternoon.
Would I recommend this place, yes definitely, it is ideal for a short relaxing break, doing absolutely nothing!
- BelTiti (10/5): A perfect place to relax - Tonusco Campestre is a perfect place to relax for a while after a visit to Medellin for example.
It consists of various little bungalows all equipped with airconditionning, some also with kitchen.
All units also have a terrace with hammacs.
They have a very good restaurant/bar at the side of the swimming pool where you can enjoy the local speciality: the bandeja paisa (see photo)
The hotel complex is located a few minutes walk downhill from the historical centre of Santa Fe de Antioquia, an enjoyable and relaxed town, spend at least 2 days here to feel the laid back atmosphere of the place. Did I mention downhill from town, this means a very steep uphill if you need to get back in town from the hotel, however mototaxis are very cheep (3000 pesos/1,25 euro) to get you to town. Also take a mototaxi to get to Puente del Occidente for lovely views over the Cauca River.
Avoid weekends tough, as lots of people from Medellin get down here with all their family to get some warmer air but also to party, so unless you want to party with them it's not going to be such as quiet than during the week. I arrived there on a Sunday noontime and saw the difference as soon as these city people left the place.
- raul3166 (6/5): It's a really good place but at lunch time it's quiet slow and service is not the same to everybody - it's a really good place but at lunch time it's quite slow and service is not the same to everybody.
