• Felix (5/5): Moderne Ausstattung mit gutem Fitnessstudio, jedoch deutliche Mängel bei der Sauberkeit in der Lobby - Freundliches Personal (Englischkenntnisse jedoch begrenzt). Geräumiges Zimmer und Bad. Zur Ausstattung gehören eine Nespresso-Maschine und ein Wasserfilter. Alles sehr sauber. Das Fitnessstudio ist groß und modern ausgestattet. Die Lage direkt am Bahnhof ist praktisch, wenngleich die Umgebung nicht besonders ansprechend ist. Die Lobby wirkt durch wahllos abgestellte Gegenstände und Pakete leider wie eine Rumpelkammer und ist sehr ungemütlich. Im Restaurant wurde benutztes Besteck vom Personal einfach wieder zurückgelegt, statt es auszutauschen. Zudem ist die Musik beim Frühstück so laut, dass Unterhaltungen kaum möglich sind. Im Zimmer fehlten ausreichende Ablagen und Haken; auch der Handtuchwechsel erfolgte nur unzuverlässig. Besonders enttäuschend war der Wellnessbereich: Die Atmosphäre im Pool glich durch die strenge Aufsicht und laute klassische Musik eher einem Schwimmkurs als Entspannung. Der im Boden eingelassene Whirlpool direkt im Gang ist zudem wenig einladend.

• snowbunny35 (10/5): Great baseball simulator experience - I chose this hotel because it had a 2 bedroom configuration which with an extra bed i.e. 1 king, 1 queen and 1 single a family of 4 was comfortably housed. The other main reason was that it had a baseball simulator - great fun for a beginner after seeing Shohei Ohtani smash homers. A very very reasonable 22000won to be humbled by the darn pitcher each time. I saw many locals bringing their golf clubs to use the range and simulator but I did not try that. Nice executive lounge with tasty choice food and plenty of space.

• joanelisqm (10/5): Grand Mercure Ambassador at Yongsan - My husband, Coco (our dog) and I moved recently to Korea and we stayed at the Grand Mercure at Yongsan for around a month and a half while we found an apartment. During our time we truly enjoyed the stay and its amenities like the gym, spa, sauna! All the staff were friendly, really helpful, and made us feel welcome and at home. We truly appreciate how Coco was treated at this hotel. She was very happy every time we went down and the staff greet her. Mr. Vlad Mun at the front door in the lobby was helpful with any request we had like ordering a taxi for us, bringing us coffee, mail, and helping with our heavy luggage. Even though he was new, he did an exceptional job as taking good care of us. I would definitely recommend this hotel to other people and would stay here again!!

I lost my credit card at the mall nearby (found it though), and found out before i was waiting for the cab at the lobby. • N1731ZHjeroenv (10/5): Great hotel at Yongsan - Great hotel at a central location in Seoul (Yongsan). The hotel is located in Seoul, not really city centre but very close to public transport (Yongsan station) and the I-Mall. There a lot of good diner options in the neigbourhood of the hotel (5 - 10 minute walk). The hotel is located in a big complex called Dragon City. The reception is professional but it took quite a while to check-in (could be more efficient). The facilties in the hotel are excellent (gym, swimming pool, Japanese sauna) and really worth five star! The rooms are very spacious (I had a junior suite) and more like a small appartment (with kitchen, washing machine). They are modern and clean. Also really five star. The rooms are also very quiet and the shower (there’s no bath, which I don’t mind) with rain shower is good and provides good warm water. The breakfast buffet is very good with a lot of choice, there was also enough space. The city centre can be reached with a taxi in about 10 minutes (depending on traffic) or public transport (Yongsan station).

• maybemev (8/5): Nice introduction to South Korea - Despite some equipment-related hazards in the apartment, we really enjoyed our nearly 3-month stay at the Grand Mercure Ambassador in Seoul Dragon City when we arrived in South Korea. In particular, we would like to thank the front desk team for their kindness, listening and taking our wishes into account: Pauline, Matthew, Joël, Jeff, Robin and Kyle. And we also thank the Housekeeping people, Ms. Jo Hee-ok and Ms. Kim Mi-ju and their teams for their commitment to understanding, responding and anticipating our needs despite the language barrier. • Resort18539697119 (10/5): A Home Away from Home - I’ve stayed at Grand Mercure Ambassador Hotel & Residences Seoul Yongsan several times, and it’s always my favorite place to stay when I come to Korea. Every visit feels comfortable, familiar, and welcoming. Every time we stay here, we see Jeff Moon, and he is always friendly, kind, and welcoming. Whenever we have questions, whether it’s about things to do, arranging transportation, or general recommendations, he is always happy to help. His kindness feels very genuine, which makes us feel comfortable asking for assistance. It’s really nice to see a familiar face each time we return, and having someone like him truly enhances our stay. The young lady who checked me in was also wonderful. She was warm, friendly, and made me feel genuinely welcome from the moment I arrived. I would also like to give special credit to the housekeeping team. They kept my room spectacular every single day, always spotless, fresh, and beautifully maintained. Every time we went out and came back, the room was perfectly cleaned with great attention to detail. Much kudos to them for the excellent work they do. The location is incredibly convenient and amazing. If you’re lucky, you can get a room with a view of the Hangang River, which offers truly spectacular views. My husband loves the spa downstairs, and my son enjoys this hotel very much as well. It truly feels like a home away from home for our family. • barbadb (10/5): A memorable stay - We stayed at the Grand Mercure Ambassador in Seoul for 13 nights, and honestly, it felt more like an apartment than a hotel room. It had everything you’d need for a long stay — washing machine, dishwasher, proper stove, fridge, freezer, pots, pans, utensils, even a cutting board. We could cook, wash clothes and live comfortably without needing anything extra, which made our trip so much easier. The whole place was spotless, and housekeeping did a great job every day. Service was consistently good. The location is also really convenient — just a short walk to Yongsan Station, so getting around Seoul was simple. The gym and sauna were clean and well maintained too. Every staff member we met was polite and professional. But what made the stay unforgettable was the people — especially Pauline, the French Customer Experience Manager. When she found out we were celebrating our 20th anniversary, she organised a beautiful surprise for us. There were personal touches everywhere — even a handwritten note. She always greeted us warmly when we came back to the hotel and genuinely made us feel looked after. We also want to mention Erik. I needed to buy some car parts and, since I don’t speak Korean, it was difficult to order online. Erik tried to help me place the order, and when that didn’t work, he called the company himself and arranged for the items to be sent to a nearby store. That kind of effort is rare. We really recommend this hotel if you’re coming to Seoul. The location, facilities and cleanliness are all great — but it’s people like Pauline and Erik who make it special. If you’re looking for comfort, convenience and real hospitality, this place ticks every box.

• Andy_Mitchum (10/5): Our perfect find for our Seoul stay - One aspect of The Grand Mercure that we discovered upon arrival is that it is located right next to the Jongsan Station making it perfect for Seoul sightseeing. The second aspect is its employees. They were above all the others we shared time with during our 3 week visit of Korea. They were welcoming, attentive and treated us with loads of respect. What impressed us the most is that upon checkout they remembered facts that had been discussed 6 days prior upon arrival. The third aspect was the room chosen, very clean at check-in, it was what wee needed for an extended stay. A full kitchen that saved us when we needed to leave on early tours and a combined washer/dryer that came in more than handy after day long rainy day hikes. Lastly, take the breakfast option, it’s worth it and it beats what can be found locally. I would recommend this hotel to my friends and family for sure.

• Alison (4/5): - Very disappointing stay. The front office staff were not very accommodating or flexible with requests eg. Options for late check out. The room was very basic and dated. Not great as tourist accommodation. Would be more appropriate for a business stay as kitchen and laundry facilities in the room. This was the most expensive but disappointing accommodation we stayed in out of the 4 accommodations we stayed in throughout South Korea. There is a train station walking distance away which we utilised a lot as there were no shops or restaurants in walking distance around the property.

The room had a fridge, washer/ dryer, and Le Labo products with a great view of the city. I wish we would have spent more time here. Most hotels should follow this same model of amenities for a fair price. Con: Not much around the hotels, so you’ll need to take a car or public transportation to most sights, but that did not deter our experience.

The hotel's connection to Dragon City and proximity to the train station, via a dedicated walkway, make it super convenient. Check-in and check-out were seamless, and the staff were always happy to help with our questions and even stored our luggage while we explored Busan. Our Junior Suite with a king-sized bed was spacious, clean, and well-equipped, with a bidet as a nice bonus. We also appreciated the convenient store next door for topping up our Wow Pass. The breakfast spread was delicious, and the Chinese restaurant in Dragon City was outstanding. Overall, a great experience! Unfortunately we didn't use any facilities such as gym, pool, etc.

There is no main handler responsible for my requests, so no one takes ownership. > All inquiries are answered slowly. Even the manager responds via the department's general email account. > No staff greeted me upon arrival at the hotel.(The staff at the entrance don't even ask if I need to check in.) > At the sauna counter, guests must wait in line until the staff finishes their personal phone call. > Accor membership benefits are not provided unless the guest explains them to the staff first. > I recommend cross-checking all responses to inquiries at least twice. >Also, the door between the living room and bedroom in my room was broken and non-functional due to a detached hinge. Since the casino was introduced within the property, the hotel has seen significant improvement in its financial status and sales performance. However, I strongly urge that staff in the hospitality industry here undergo fundamental training on basic professional conduct. I hope you feel ashamed for handling things in this manner.

• andreasM3942BY (10/5): A luxury apartment hotel worthy of the name - This elegant, luxury residence hotel truly deserves these attributions. Our serviced apartment had two bedrooms, a small office room with a desk and bookshelves, two bathrooms, the main one with two sinks, plenty of counter space, separate rooms for toilet and shower within the bathroom, a kitchen, coffee machine for gourmet espresso, a dishwasher, wash and dry laundry machine, and a large tv monitor in every room. We were greeted by a bowl of delicious fresh fruit upon our arrival and the staff spoke good English and were friendly and gracious in responding to all our requests and questions. There were many amenities we didn't use such as the pool and sauna, and the lobby had delightful displays and beautiful flower arrangements that chang d often. I enthusiastically recommend this accommodation and our travel agency that chose it for us, ATJ, who saw to every detail of our trip.

• Yu kyoung (4/5): HORRIBLE Check-in experience - A young man at the front desk for checking - in was HORRIBLE - rude, ruthless, and idiotic. From the beginning, he was reluctant to answer the questions I asked about gym, and that snobbish attitude continued throughout the check-in process. He said the hotel only provides ONE PAD for my dog throughout the whole period of stay regardless of how many days a customer stays, which does not make any sense at all. When the manager came over, he changed his word as "one per day" - a LIAR. If he stays there next time I visit this hotel, and consistently being a snob, I will be posting his photo here and on social media. They should not hire someone so rude and idiotic at FIVE STAR hotel. They also have a strange rule that one can only visit the gym ONCE per Day - the gym is not crowded at all, and don't make any sense to make such a rule. The amenities are great, but the location is very inconvenient as there is no infrastructure in the area except for iPark Mall. I mainly visited this hotel as I can stay quietly and focus on working.

• travellercjj (6/5): Need to try harder - Review Currently at the Grand Mercure and have voiced a few issues to staff here already but our experience so far has been somewhat lukewarm for what's categorized as a 5 star property. We love the fact that it is pet friendly - any property that treats pets as a welcomed guest is a plus in our book and we will be sure to give them business. Still, compared to other pet friendly hotels in Seoul (we stayed at 2 other over our 1 month stay), Grand Mercure doesn’t provide much given their daily "cleaning fee" - not sure what cleaning is being done aside from daily housekeeping. Not to mention housekeeping experiences have been hit and miss as well. Other hotels charged a one time cleaning or weekly cleaning in regards to pets so if you're charging a daily fee I'd think there'd be something differentiating the cleaning. No pet pads, no deep cleanings, no pet amenities at all to be honeat compared to the other 2 hotels we've tried. Moving onto hospitality and service, it’s definitely not in the 5 star category. There are many instances that stand out but to name a few: - We had dinner at the hotel restaurant with a family member who lives in Seoul and had stayed over a month in the same hotel due to home renovation. They even have the hotel membership. All of us ordered our dishes but everything came out in piece meal so many of us watched as the other ate and vice versa. They requested a takeout box to have leftover pizza wrapped up. They were warned that it will be extra cost for that. By now the bill was paid but they went the extra mile to charge the $2-3 for the takeout box. During the entire meal they never put that much extra effort in. - We had a small hiccup with housekeeping not leaving enough towels for 3 people in our suite but this got resolved right away. We had to buy floor wipes and it took 2 whole packs to clean the floors up because they were so grimy like it had never gotten a good mop down - and this is despite the daily pet cleaning fee they charge for these supposedly designated rooms. - The room layout is good for 3 people with the extra bed so that's great. Washer/dryer in room is also a plus. What needs to be addressed is the janky ironing board that wobbles, dining chairs that feel like they'll break with one wrong move, sofa, and arm chairs that have visible dirt and questionable stains. Again, this is all after they charge extra for 'cleaning". I don't think I'd be as annoyed if they didn't do this but if you're charging a daily pet cleaning fee, I expect a flawless room that doesn't have signs of previous pets! We've literally had to cover surfaces with towels to sit. - Concierge is great - they are a little less polished than the other places but I appreciate the staff effort and willingness to help overall and have done great with what we requested. Overall it's okay but wouldn't be my first choice if other options are available.
• BachIsGreat (8/5): A generally good (not great) stay, but marred by noisy/inconsiderate guests and poor soundproofing - I recently stayed in the deluxe 2-bedrooms apartment at Grand Mercure Yongsan for multiple nights. I also stayed in the same configuration last year. Overall, the stay was good, not great, but marred by noisy and inconsiderate guests. As is customary in my reviews, my list of pros and cons is below. PROS: 1. Location = the location of the Grand Mercure Yongsan is great. It is connected by covered walkways to Yongsan Station, which is a major subway and train hub. It is also about a 10 minutes walk (not covered though) to Sinyongsan Station as well. For those traveling to and from Incheon Airport, take the airport limousine bus 6001 and the stop that is closest to the hotel is Sinyongsan Station. Then it is about a 10 minute walk. I am told there was an airport limousine bus 6030 that stopped right at the hotel (Seoul Dragon City stop) but that route is apparently temporarily suspended. But you may want to check online during your trip if 6030 service has resumed. 2. Connected mall = there is a huge shopping mall called iPark which is at the aforementioned Yongsan Station, connected by covered walkways to the hotel. This mall has a lot of dining options, a food court, and a large supermarket in the basement. It is thus very convenient. 3. Large, spacious, well-equipped suites = this is a serviced apartment hotel so suites are well-equipped with various appliances that you might need. Our suite had a kitchen with microwave/oven, dishwasher, fridge and freezer, cutlery and plates, a washer-dryer combo unit (note it does take many, many hours to complete a drying cycle, so make sure you leave plenty of time for laundry), and a clothes drying rack. 4. 24 hours convenience store connected to the hotel = if you take the elevator to the second floor, take the covered walkway to the adjacent Ibis hotel and there is a 24 hours convenience store (called CU) there. It’s very convenient to get drinks, snacks there if you’re staying at the Grand Mercure. 5. Friendly staff at front desk and concierge = the staff in the lobby at the front desk and concierge were friendly. They said hello to guests coming and going. CONS: 1. Poor sound-proofing and noisy, inconsiderate other guests = the worst and most unfortunate part of our stay was noisy & inconsiderate other guests. Coupled with poor sound-proofing this all led to difficulty getting basic sleep. In particular we were awakened one night by heavy pounding and vibrations (like heavy bass). This noise continued well past midnight for a while. Evidently, guests on a lower floor were blasting pounding pop music so loudly that floors above could hear. While the hotel staff eventually got them to quiet down, the hotel staff first offered to move us to another room to sleep. I rejected this solution because I didn’t want to move rooms in the middle of the night and why should the noisy guests breaking noise rules be the ones to be accommodated? That mentality is not correct. 2. Inconsistent housekeeping; cleanliness just average = housekeeping was a little bit inconsistent. One time, a pillow case was left on the bed (with being put back on the pillow). Other times, housekeeping was good. In general, I found cleanliness to be just average; many parts of the suite had dust and stains on the sofa and chairs. 3. Odors in the suite = our suite had areas which smelled like curry. I requested an air purifier which helped but did not fully get rid of the smell. All in all, I thought the stay and property was overall good. Would I stay again at the Grand Mercure Yongsan? The answer is probably yes, provided no more noise issues in the future and provided the cleanliness level is improved. I hope the hotel can be more proactive about solving and preventing noise issues. This is not a cheap property and it bills itself as a five star property. Not being able to get a basic nights sleep because of pounding pop music isn’t acceptable.
• Michael (4/5): - Although the place was decent, the washer/dryer combo didn’t work well. The dryer didn’t dry my pants or jackets. The hotel had three separate staff double check the issue and finally, one French staff told me that the dryer doesn’t dry clothes 100%. And the hotel offered me to dry my clothes for free however only the hours between 4-9 pm. I am on vacation and don’t have a set schedule! I had repeated three times for the housekeeper to leave some disposable shower sponges daily. The restaurants on site, do not take solo guests since the menu is set for two. They did extend my checkout time by 1 hour. I stayed more than two weeks there but never going back!
