Guest Reviews
- Gina Wilson (10/5): - The peace and quiet the helpful staff loved it
- Silvia (1/5): - Super gelado o apartamento, cheio de mofo nas paredes, o chuveiro é horrível Odiei
- Verified traveler (4/5): Damp - The property was full of unpleasant damp smells and it was very uncomfortable to sleep in at night, location was ok but not to stay in again 😞 so I would've asked for a refund but I'll put it down to experience.. but thank you for letting us stay..
- Robertson (8/5): Very good - Good location with good parking. Nice clean and tidy apartment. It was all good, but I would have liked a bit more beding .
- Lansbury (3/5): Poor - Seeing family not alot else Where do i start
Accommodation dirty throughout, deteriorated since our last visit. New beds required uncomfortable, bathroom in need of attention. Apartment very very cold 🥶 could not turn heaters up as on timer was on. Windows are past there sale buy date can't see out at all.
Silly things missing ie fairy liquid, dish clothe, T towel very disappointed. Cupboards in do not close & full of junk ie broken micro wave, blinds, iron board no cover burnt unusable just full of rubbish.
Would not stay again
- Randolph (10/5): Exceptional - Great parking warm and comfortable Nothing
- Albert (1/5): Very stressful - Nothing at all
Left the property on the first night after being verbally abused Everything
I recommend that booking.com take this property of there books .
- Kenneth (8/5): Had a good time everything I needed was local and the flat was clean and tidy, will defo stay again - Location was good and the host always answered my text messages Not understanding how the heating or the hot water worked maybe a list of instructions would be helpful
- Trevor (5/5): It needs to be improved. - It was clean The breakfast was pathetic. Four breakfasts consisted of a loaf of white sliced bread, porridge oats, one serving of cornflakes, 2 pints of milk. No butter or spread, no marmalade or jam, no eggs nothing else. No coffee machine only instant coffee. This definitely is not a bed and BREAKFAST. The door handle was broken into the bedroom, the towels were thin and there was no way to dry them.
- Elizabeth (6/5): Pleasant - The location was great as we booked for closeness to racecourse.
Handy for buses.
A couple of eating places within walking distance. The apartment block was a bit run down.
Apartment itself smelt of damp, inspite of having humidifiers in rooms.
The hot water was not hot.
The shower pressure was very bad.
- June (7/5): Good location - Good location for our trip
Nice living room
Clean No hand soap in bathroom (had to buy some which we left there)
Hand towels looked tired
Towel rack in bathroom very loose
Loose door-handle in bedroom
Peeling wallpaper in bedroom
Not many plugs
Could do with a bedside lamp in the bedrooms
No lighting on staircase in the evening
- Stephen (8/5): Very good - The place is great but would be better with bed mattress change
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional - Close to racecourse and wildlife park
- Ros (4/5): Give this place a miss! - The apartment was spacious and well set out. The heating worked well, generous supply of cereals and teabags. Coffee container only contained teabags. Shower water pressure was low. Bathroom sink and bath plug chain both broken. TV in bedroom not working. 2 of 3 clothes airers were broken. Blind on door to balcony won't stay up. Hygiene issues - the bedroom wardrobes and drawers were dusty and hallway cupboards are full of junk. The whole place needs a good deep clean - we felt very uncomfortable staying there. The bathroom door effectively locks when closed from the inside and could result in a serious situation. The apartment block itself is rundown, including waste disposal area, stairs and railings.
- Hayley (1/5): £126 for 4 hours of slow suffocation. Bargain. - There was parking. Everything! AVOID!
Not sure where all these good reviews come from, but here a an honest review:
-Dirty walls
-Damp and mildew in every room (despite the owner saying it was freshly painted!)
-Two dehumidifiers provided but didn’t do much as the issue was that bad. We ended up experiencing breathing difficulties and so had to find another accommodation at 1am!
-Shower / bathroom extremely dated, gross stained bath matt and even contained someone else’s half used products.
-Stained bedding, blood flecks and other stains.
-Breakfast: was supposed to be included but was literally bread, cereal, milk, tea and coffee. No butter or anything to put on the bread.
Not a 4 star property at all. We had to leave at 1am as mentioned above as it was unbearable. Contacted the owner to explain the situation and request a refund and was told he would only refund half our money stating that “as we only told him at 1:30am he could not release the property”.
Our check in time was agreed as 8-9pm due to travelling, we were tired; was not our intention to upheave ourselves at that hour but we had no choice. So we paid £126 for a health hazard and not even a hint of an apology from the owner. Robbery is what it is!
- Bronwen (2/5): Do not go - Nothing Everything. Dirty, tatty, rusty bath with holes in.
Old bedding and towels
Dirty drawers
Dirty wardrobes
Filthy surroundings - rubbish everywhere
- Alice (9/5): It’s always sunny in Doncaster! - Both hosts were on hand to help at any time and were really helpful, friendly and kind. It was easy to get the keys as the information sent to me was completely accurate and detailed. The neighbours were also friendly and there was so much space. It was quiet at night too, with really nice views on both sides of the street. The breakfast and amenities provided were top-notch. The only thing I would suggest is to re-seal the bathroom, because it’s flats and the humidity gets a bit much.
- Jonathan (8/5): Very good - Good owners and decent breakfast Slightly dated property
- Nicola (7/5): Good location for dog walks and good value for money - Great location, loved size of apartment and the balcony Shower wasn’t the best. Internet was a bit temperamental but good enough for short stay.
- Lorna (9/5): Superb - Property owners were great, Sean messaged before we arrived to make sure we would have everything we needed and checked in to make sure our stay was going well. The area is quiet, and the property is cleaned to a really high standard.
- Sven-roger (7/5): Good location, stay was fine. - It is easy to find the appartment and to park your car. Finding the key was no problem at all. Wifi worked nice in the whole appartment, Please give the bathroom a refurbishment.
- Karine (3/5): Disappointed and cold :( - The location and the free parking. The heaters are remotely controlled. When we arrived in the appartment with my 2 babies (1yo and almost 3yo) at 08:00pm, it was 17 degrees… we couldn’t go over 20, it was blocked.
There’s no heater in the bathroom not even a towel heater. It was freezing cold my babies cried for 30 minutes after that, the rest of the week we had to give them the bath at some friends.
We are coming from a hot country, after 2 days we all got sick. We asked the guy, why we were blocked, he ignored the question and increase to max 22. We asked for the drying rack, he said it’s located outside on the balcony (weird in the middle of winter by 0 degree) and it was actually not accessible from the inside cause the key was rusty and impossible to open the door. So we improvised with some hangers everywhere in the appartment.
Also he never asked but breakfast included supposedly, we didn’t have anything left (bread, butter, coffee and tea) half of our stay although we asked. His answer was « the cleaner has a problem with her car ».
Also we stayed for a week, there was no salt and pepper (basics stuff).
The landlord could use more quality service.
- Amanda (2/5): Awful - Breakfast cereal, bread, milk and tea coffee were left to use. It's was dirty, smelly and damp with condensation on the windows.Cowebs and mold on the ceiling and skirting boards. No way to open windows/fire hazard. A big patch of rust on bath, no handrail/ bathmat and towel rail not secure. Lounge rug trip hazard and had to remove during stay as grandkids came over and elderly dad was staying with us.Door handle in main bedroom the screws hanging out so unable to close. No dishcloth in kitchen. Towels had seen better days.
- Foote (8/5): We will definitely book again perfect for what we needed and the land lord was brilliant. We booked for two nights but b - The space
Allows dogs Nothing
- Gill (5/5): What we needed at the time - Good location for us. Good price. Owners had made an attempt to make the apartment modern but comfortable. Trip hazards in bedrooms (curtains and bed ends). Quite often felt cold, couldn’t work out how heaters worked. Not suitable for anyone with mobility issues as up 2 flights of stairs. Would benefit from an information folder on apartment, emergency numbers/addresses, visitor attractions etc.
- Jane (9/5): Superb -
- Surrao (9/5): Superb -
- Stone (7/5): Good -
- Kiera (6/5): Our stay was pleasant, it was a place to stay while we visited Doncaster for our sons 9th birthday - Variety of breakfast, milk and bread for the stay, spacious, close to shops and restaurants. For us we found the beds uncomfortable and woke up a lot in the night and left with back pain during the day. Not everyone will have the same opinion and isn’t a reflection on the host just a personal preference.
- Angie (8/5): Enjoyed our stay would defo stay again - Was perfect location for everything we needed
Was lovely and clean and smelt lovely No plug sockets near bed i use a medical device to sleep so this is important to me
- Rikki (10/5): Comfortable -
- Paul (7/5): Great location, very good value! - Location was great
- Linda (8/5): Location good value for money plenty space - Very friendly host excellent location for dog great value , lady that met us I think cleaner went above and beyond Humidifier
- Toni (10/5): Good place, spotlessly clean - Breakfast was lovely. Not the cheapest cereal around which was nice and a choice. Bread was fresh too
- Anonymous (9/5): Superb -
- Anonymous (6/5): It was ok. - It was close to amenities. It had some damp patches in the bedroom and living room which effected my breathing (asthmatic)
- Donald (7/5): clean enough easy to find fresh milk provided always a bonus - clean tidy nothing
- Robert (9/5): Superb -
- Anonymous (1/5): honestly 1/10 - not even joking worst apartment ever stayed in there was mould everywhere even on the pillows !! there was rust all around the bath mould init the apartment was so damp weed smell from the neighbours and really loud at night
- Richard (6/5): Pleasant -
- Neil (7/5): Boswell stay - Place was Clean, good WiFi, good communication, quiet area and nice touch leaving milk, bread and butter. Dark external stairwell and walkways. No lighting.
- Brendan (3/5): Poor - We liked nothing Heating not working, television not working.
- Snober (7/5): nice and clean but cold without heating - it was clean and nice the heatings didn’t work it was cold
- Daniel (3/5): Poor - the location. The mould, dampness, big issue
- Sandip (6/5): Pleasant -
- Helen (6/5): Okay I guess. - The bath The couch , sitting room not very homely.
- Neil (8/5): Very good - Easy parking, owner supplied milk, bread, butter etc which was nice touch.
Comfortable and good WiFi.
- Darren (9/5): I'd definitely go back here - Very quiet, secluded. Unexpectedly so, as it was on a lovely leafy road, but the building was maybe 20 apartments arranged like a tenement, it reminded me of my first duplex in the projects in the States.
Take a flashlight to navigate the stairwell, and once inside, it's lovely. There were some provisions for tea, coffee, breakfast, that was a nice surprise.
Smaller bedroom mattress was soft. Larger bedroom mattress firmer. Balcony overlooks the road, is handy enough. Heating is provided by two fast-acting wall mounted radiators. You'd not need them on for long. 5 minutes on setting 1 was enough
Oven is effective. I've stayed places where it takes a year to cook a pizza. Not here. It's great.
Nearest amenities appear to be a big supermarket on the way to the racecourse, or a Tesco express/garage a mile in the opposite direction.
Theres lots of off street parking. No marking on the oven switch, so assume the setting is at the top.
Shower 'hose/line', looked like it needed a good scrub. The balcony door glass was foggy, both the last two points take the edge off an otherwise immaculate apartment.
Finding the apartment. Difficult from the street. It's under the building, right up the stairs, almost to the end of the first landing.
- Stuart (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lewinski (6/5): Pleasant -
- Kevin (4/5): Not a hotel but a maisonette. - Not sure why this property is on Hotels.com as this is a maisonette on a council estate.
- Donna (8/5): - A nice place to have as a base while on holiday! My 3 year loved having a double bed to herself and a tv in her room (she had told me she didnt want to leave and the cats were fine at my mums)! I didnt watch the tv in my room as i struggled with the signal but the living room tv worked fine so it didnt matter
- Lynn (6/5): Served it's purpose. - On arrival we expected to see a breakfast basket in the kitchen but there was a small loaf and a small bottle of milk on the side. Couldn't find the tea bags for ages as they were in the teapot! Don't see the point of providing bread if there is no butter to go with it. No cereal provided so had to go to shop for butter and breakfast.
Beds were comfy, too many cushions on the sofas and the beds especially with COVID.
Leaflet on coffee table said free wifi but you have to actually find the hub and take it from there. Would be helpful to have the password on the leaflet.
Overall, the stay was ok but wouldn't come again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Close to the wildlife park which was the main reason for our 2 night stay in Doncaster. With a very good pub just up the road which also did a huge carvery every day at a cost £6.95 this made our visit well worth it,
I was a little disappointed with the park, but we did see the bears.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice apartment at quiet place - We stayed here for 3 nights. It is a nice and quiet place. There are free parking area within the private area. We love stayed here and would recommend to our friends.
