- Alfred (10/5): - I liked that it was no frills. It was perfect for us to get a good night's sleep and have some dinner in our room. After a shower. Just what a hotel is supposed to be like. Being up stairs. But that's my fault for not asking for a street level room.
- Jay (9/5): -
- Rainer (10/5): Excellent money value:-) -

- Guest (10/5): WOULD RECOMMEND TO ANYONE - No breakfast.
Exceptionally clean room.
- Vincent (7/5): - It is in close proximity to the downtown area which has a lot to offer. The room was clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The bath/shower definitely needs some TLC, and the door needs some weather stripping.
- Carlos (10/5): -
- Lora (9/5): excellent for the money - convenient right down in old town, near park, easy check in, very clean a teensy bit nicked up, but not bad.
- Gregory (10/5): -

- Gail (8/5): - Old hotel. Area felt industrial
- Joyce (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay very much. Very well done renovations keeping an older property in service.
- Terri (9/5): - This place had all we needed for a quick overnight stay. Comfortable, clean and convenient.
- Denise (10/5): - Liked that you didnt have to "check in". Door code was texted prior to arrival. Grateful for the kitchen. Comfortable beds.
- Craig (10/5): - Overnight stay. Clean room. I liked the easy check-in and walk-in. Would definitely recommend and stay again.
- Tamara (10/5): - The room was clean and looked like it had some upgrades added not long ago. Check-in was as simple as receiving a message with all the information I needed for my stay.
- Stephen (10/5): - Clean & Comfortable
- Kim (10/5): - Clean, comfortable, private
- Ron (6/5): Nice room. - Clean and comfortable. The shower floor is VERY slick when wet. Recommend a shower mat be installed.
- Curren (7/5): Clean and comfy - The bed was amazing to fall into after a long drive. It is dated, but comfortable and clean. I kind of liked the code on the door. I could get there anytime and not worry about having to check in. This is definitely a no frills stay, but at a good price. No coffee in the morning ☹️
- Jan (8/5): - Unit #1 would be excellent for an extended stay. It had a small kitchen with full size appliances, chair, love seat, desk, large closet, tv, bathroom with tub shower, and two beds.
Clean, comfortable, and quiet.
- Douglas (10/5): - Room and location were as described. Great location, near downtown. Host was very kind, proactive, and provided clear communication. Will be staying here again!
- Jacob (10/5): - We needed a room for the night and for the price this place was fantastic. Clean, quiet and safe. Showers were hot.
- Patsi (8/5): Older property but clean & in decent shape. - Easy to find, good proximity, clean The final step when coming down the stairs is a slightly different height, which was startling the first time I walked down (hands full, felt like I might fall).
- Marci (9/5): - Great location! Our room is as clean. Beds were comfortable! The air conditioner worked great! Communication with the staff was prompt and pleasant. Great value, too!
- Verified traveler (6/5): A limited experience - This isn't your "typical" motel. There's no front desk or visible staff. You get a text message with the keypad code before you checkin.
There is a modified full kitchen with a 1/2 size refrigerator, stove top and microwave. The bare necessities of dishes are there. So if you are need an extended stay, this would be a good option.
For an overnight "motel" stay, you may wish to look elsewhere as there isn't even coffee.
- Leonard Wayne (8/5): Impressed - I was impressed with the size and features like a full sized refrigerator and kitchenet.
- Isela (10/5): -
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice place
- Goodhue (9/5): Our stay was comfortable and quiet. - Location was fine. No breakfast was available. Room was very good. No people to work with, all check ins were done electronically. As an older couple, it was a little confusing, people after us were older yet and they had to make a phone call.
- Kenneth (1/5): - No response. Tried to book it. It got canceled. I rebooked it called the property. Left a message. No response.
- Jacob (10/5): -
- Patti (8/5): - I i was looking for a less expensive hotel to stay in. Reviews were good for oakwood inn. No amenities but clean! And nice! Places are close by If you need anything. They send you an email for verification and send you a code to get into the room. I recommend this Oakwood inn for sure!
- Scott (8/5): - Everything was nice
- David (10/5): - Rooms were clean and spacious. Property seemed secure. Great stopping point for travelers and can't ask for much more at the price point.
- Pedro (10/5): Perfecto!! - Vinimos desde España para acompañar a nuestro hijo al Northeastern College y acertamos con éste alojamiento. Limpio, cómodo, tranquilo y con muy buen precio 👌
- Joseph (10/5): - Beautiful 18
- Linda (10/5): -
- Lisa (8/5): - Good location, easy check-in, quiet, spacious room, plenty of towels. Not as clean as I would have expected but otherwise I liked the room.
- David (8/5): Nice stay in Sterling - Nice room with decent beds. Easy contactless check in. The only downside here is the occasional train horn sounding. The tracks are nearby.
- Charles (8/5): - Summer '25. Doors walls and floors show age. But, crispy white soft clean sheets and 2 soft clean pillows on each bed was what i needed. Mem foam mattress in good shape, a bit warm in July. And about 1/3 cost of large hotel chain out on the highway. Quick check in on expedia app. Will stay here again next gathering.
- Cathy (8/5): Very good -
- Steve (10/5): Exceptional -
- Pamela (8/5): Very good -
- Thomas (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean, comfortable bed. Everything about it worked well for us. Nothing pops
- Cheesman (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice
- Wallace (10/5): My favorite spot in Sterling - Great place to relax or get things done if you need to. I come here as often as I can (2-3 times a year, if possible) even though it's hundreds of miles out of my way.
- White (3/5): Less than expected - Mattress was bad, no grab rails in shower, door to bathroom hits vanity and doesn't open, electric outlet is behind the bed, exhaust fan in bathroom was inoperable
- Earl (10/5): - The room and emanates were all good.
- Kate (10/5): 5 stars - Excellent experience. Room was clean. Quiet neighborhood. Joe sent us information prior to checking in. I would stay here again.
- Lisa (8/5): Contactless Check in yet friendly - While a bit outdated the rooms were clean (which is always my main concern) we received a text from Joe the innkeeper after we booked with our room number and door code to our room, which was great! The contactless check-in was so helpful since we had been traveling for over 8 hours and got in a bit late. it was nice not having to deal with a bunch of extra steps!
- Thomas (8/5): Very good -
- Denny (8/5): Very good -
- stephen (10/5): - Not sure I like the "No front desk option". What if something goes wrong?
- Kerrianne (4/5): - Room was clean but very uninviting and had a terrible odor. Beds uncomfortable. But ok for one night in a small town.
- Margaret (8/5): We would this recommend this motel to solo travlers for overnight stay - self check in, very clean and safe, comfortable
- Wesley (8/5): - The room was very clean and nice. The pre-signing in and out made the whole checking in process much simpler. The only thing that was a negative was the lack of parking causing us to park on the street. Location was in a quiet neighborhood so parking on the street was only a mild inconvenience.
- Johnson (9/5): Superb - Very clean and quiet
- Linn (4/5): Disappointing - Location Room temperature was set at 78° so it smelled weird. Stairs are very narrow making luggage very awkward to carry up. Never checked into a hotel in this fashion. Would have liked a heads up on the booking.com page. Lighting was extremely bright ...not relaxing
- Doug (8/5): - Everything was perfectly fine. The property tends toward an older style motor inn but satisfied my needs perfectly.
- Mome (10/5): - Perfect! Lots of space, towels, soap, storage. Affordable. Close to everything
- George (8/5): Very good -
- A7666FXthomasf (2/5): Does NOT Refund any cancellations! - Does NOT Refund any cancellations! A friend in England requested a refund when trying to cancel her July 21st to July 24th Reservations that were prepaid!
- Michelle (10/5): - I was surprised that the room was like an apartment complete with a small kitchen area. The room rate was very good and even though kind of dated, I did not hear anything from other guest rooms. I would definitely stay here again!
- Scott (10/5): - Third time there. Perfect for a couple of nights while I'm in Sterling for an event.
- Andrew (10/5): - Very clean and quiet. Nice little neighborhood. Has everything you need
- Violet (10/5): - I always stay here when I come to sterling. Room is clean..contactless check in.
- Lloyd (10/5): - Fantastic evening. Evidently recently upgrDed
- Bradley (7/5): Solid for the low price - Contactless check-in was easy and the innkeeper communicated immediately and clearly. Building is solid and clean Not the greatest location--a few blocks south of downtown, and well away from the Interstate. Bring your earplugs because even though you wouldn't know by looking at a map, you're actually on a pretty busy highway with truck traffic, and a busy freight rail line nearby as well. A tissue box in the room would be nice since one has to use toilet paper instead...
- David (10/5): - New appliances, fridge and microwave , looks like newly refurbished room, comfortable bed, nice tv, easy parking lived in neighborhood
- Rilez (10/5): It was like a fairy tale majestical and full of magic! - Can't find a better place in this town for the price! That there's nothing to complain about cuz that's what I love to do as a hobby in my spare time is to find stuff to bitch about and now my wife's not speaking to me since the only thing I had to bitch about was her!! Thanks a lot Oakwood!!
- Benjamin (10/5): Loved the room and how close it was to downtown. - It was at a great location and great room. I may stay again in the future. Nothing
- Clara (8/5): Very good - It was clean. Didn't have any staff to deal with.
