Guest Reviews

- Kevin (9/5): -
- Ngaire (5/5): Be very careful which apartment you choose. - Bed was comfy, great pressure in the shower.
Location good as we were walking to Spark Arena which took about 20 minutes.
A few little shops and restaurants around.
Easy to find lock box and get into apartment.
Look for deals on park mate if you are staying overnight on the weekend. I hate doing not great reviews, but we had the worst experience. Last time we stayed our apartment looked over the water and was so quiet. Unfortunately, this time we had a single glazed apartment overlooking the carpark. Because it is a public car park, we had very noisy revving cars, loud music playing from cars and congregations of young folk. I think we finally got to sleep just before 5am. Be very careful which apartment you choose (number 25) was ours. Also looked as if the cleaning had been rushed as carpet had not been vacuumed which showed up on black carpet. There was no plug for the kitchen sink, and we had to go and buy tea bags. Overall, pretty disappointed especially for the price we paid and the fact that our first experience there had been amazing and that's the reason we went back.
- Greg (5/5): Facilities were ok but negatives, including cost, would cause me to pick a hotel instead - Great surrounding location at harbour, apartment very clean and well resourced Parking was costly which wasn’t made clear in property description.
Process to access property was complicated as pre-arrival welcome message lacked a lot of needed info.
TV didn’t work then when reported to host reply was “Thanks for letting us know we’ll get someone to check it out the following day” which was no help to us staying only one night.
Light bulb over mirror in bathroom didn’t work.
Property description stated “City views”, but the only view we had was facing other apartment windows, disappointing as property pics looked like we could expect a harbour view.
- Maria (3/5): - Location The linen was not clean
- Michelle (7/5): Overall it was the perfect location to explore Auckland. Close to everything. - Great location! Very comfortable bed! Well appointed and everything you need. The pillows could do with an upgrade. It was very noisy at night with a lot of traffic and loud cars hooning up and down.
- Cherie (9/5): -
- Jayden (10/5): -
- Briar (8/5): Loved being right downtown. A real treat at a good price. - Fabulous location Parking is expensive $60 for 24hrs but…it’s the Auckland waterfront
- Joanna (8/5): I would definitely stay there again, especially during the week nights. - Space to unpack and relax without feeling cramped . The kitchen facilities had everything one could need for a short stay . The outdoor deck and furniture made for a relaxing evening . The shower had fabulous water pressure . The location was so central , with parking available and cheaper using the Parkmate App . If I had to say anything, a better selection of teas and extra coffee pods and milk .
- Boswood (10/5): - Clean, comfortable and amazing location.
Thank you for the stay :)
- SARAH (9/5): -
- Kenny (8/5): - Ideal location
- SARAH (10/5): Wonderful stay -

- Mary Dale (5/5): Our expectations of easy access to an airy apartment with views weren't met - Apartment was clean and well positioned for bars and restaurants. We had inadequate information about how to get into the apartment and needed to phone the owner who was quite helpful.
The apartment had no views at all and it was difficult to sleep because motor bikes were revving past the building most of the night. The apartment was stuffy.
- Portguy (8/5): Location, location, location - Location is excellent. Close to viaduct, Queen st, ferries & Spark Arena.
Loved being able to sit outside on the deck having a wine.
Bottle store directly across the road.
Shower was amazing pressure. Loved it!!!
We encountered no real outside noise except the bow thrusters on the cruise ship arriving very early which is on the otherside of the accommodation. Nothing really, a view would have been good but then a cruise ship had arrived very early the next morning which would have blocked any chance anyway.
Sheets were left in the dryer.
- Tanja (7/5): -
- Steve (3/5): Awful. Dirty. Very disappointing. ABSOLUTELY NOT luxurious. - Within walking distance to Viaduct. Very noisey environment from arguing neighbors and street traffic and pedestrians. Towels smelt very sweaty. Pillows and duvet cover were not changed from previous occupancy because Pillows especially were covered in snot and mouth dribble fluid. Duvet smelt stale and sweaty.
Unclean sheets, dirty pillow and crap left on shelves in wardrobe. Furnished with cheap Kmart/Warehouse furniture and effects. We felt that the owner no longer cares for the place.
We were so glad to check out after the worst night spent in a dirty, smelly and noisy environment.
- Johanna (9/5): - Fantastiskt läge mitt i Auckland!
- Andrew (7/5): Value for money in an excellent location - Location is excellent, close to the main part of Auckland with Restaurants, Bars, Shopping and access to the Wharf area and ferries all close by Finding the apartment and lock box wasn't easy but the owner assisted me over the phone which was appreciated.
- Jason (8/5): -
- Sharon (7/5): - Central location Extra pillows on bed would have been nice.
Shower a bit touch and go with water being hot.
- Hannah (4/5): Good location, but not very clean or organised. - Very good location. There was dust everywhere, hanging from the ceilings and on most surfaces. Bedding was stuffed in cupboards which made me question the cleanliness of the sheets. Refill supplies were in a few cupboards as well that were for the cleaning staff. Just felt extremely odd… I was expecting more of a hotel experience, this felt more like staying in someone else’s apartment for the night?
- Ruth (9/5): Mildew on walls above the dryer.. No face clothes, no milk , the capsule coffee machine did not work - Location .. easy access
- David (1/5): Terrible. Pic of bed as found. - Did not stay - moved to hotel Bedding had not been changed, though cover had been replaced
Towels were damp and malodorous
No pillows/pillow cases - just uncleaned cushions
Some cleaning done but no laundry.
The worst Booking.com experience we’ve had
- richard (9/5): - Location was perfect for our needs.
There was a lot of noise from.nearby viaduct venues at 3 am. The bedding was not comfortable.
- Timothy (7/5): Close to cruise port but needs a refresh. - Overall the location was very close to the port (shed 10) or our cruise ship.
Many restaurants near by. Cobwebs on corners, very dirty above dryer.
Only 2 bath towels (should be four!). No hand towels or face clothes. What is it about European type countries and lack of towels?
A refresh is absolutely required. Chipped wall corners.
Also could use better pillows.
- Jenny (8/5): - Great location A bit of road noise at night.
- ed (7/5): - Close to restaurants nice outside Coffee machine didn't work and one of the blinds was just hanging by a thread to its socket
- Delys (7/5): Lovely apartment unfortunately we had major parties going on outside which kept us awake most of the night! Coffee failu - Great parking, kitchen facilities superb and close to lots of eateries No Coffee! Had 3 pods for machine and ONE sachet of instant coffee so we had to buy instant coffee so we could have a coffee in the morning! Not stocked up!!
- Tara (5/5): -
- Paul (10/5): Great - Great location Clear instructions on using fob to access.
- Caroline Reed (10/5): Great option for central stay - I have stayed here before and would stay again - great location, well set up and super comfortable
- Clayton (10/5): Would stay again, good location - Location was good a short walk to the main shopping and dining areas, apartment was spacious and had all facilities needed for a short or longer stay No pods for the nespresso were provided, parking is only on street needing to pay daily/hourly rates or to go further for a parking lot
- Kirstin (4/5): Great location but that's where it ends. - Location was close to everything we needed. Directions on how to get into the apartment were clear and easy to follow.
Great sized apartment with a good sized balcony. My husband had a quick shower no longer than 10minutes, I went to go have a shower and had hot water for about 2 minutes and then it went ice cold and that was it no more hot water. I had to rinse the shampoo out in freezing cold water. Turned it off waited a while and tried again still no hot water.
There was no milk in the fridge for coffees but said it came with some milk.
The bed mattress didn't seem to fit the base and once in the bed you kind of rolled in towards each other in the middle, like it sunk in.
It wasn't very clean, massive cobwebs on the ceiling, the bathroom fan is filthy, there was mold on the walls and behind the curtains and around the framing. The balcony was also not cleaned there was a large dried spill right in the doorway food all over the floor and the table was filthy.
No soundproofing, with bars just at the start of the apartments there was fighting, yelling, screaming bottles smashing for hours throughout the night and we could hear every single thing. We understood we were staying near the viaduct but was not expecting such little sound proofing in a unit there.
Obviously not the owners fault for all the fighting and everything but maybe invest in some double glazed windows and door onto the balcony to limit the disruption.
The TV had Netflix, freeview and 3 now however it would only play something for about 10 seconds then buffer for 10 - 30 seconds and repeat so couldn't actually watch anything.
- Angel (9/5): -
- Toni (7/5): Perfect location, clean, roomy, beware parking cost! - Perfect location, surrounded by amazing restaurants, walking distance to the city. Advertised as on street parking, needs to advertise that this is paid parking at a cost of $60 extra per day. Or if you want to walk a few blocks you can get it for $25 per day.
This is a big added cost and would have factored in to my decision to stay there.
Had to pay for an hour parking just to figure out how to get into the place and drop our bags off.
This is a private rental, you don’t get to check in at reception. I was not aware of that either when I booked the property.
- Yana (8/5): -
- Hafsa (8/5): -
- Paul (8/5): - Nice private and quiet Apartment of a very generous size, reasonably well equipped.
Would have liked hand-towel and face-clothes in the bathroom. Also, only one coffee pod for the Nespresso machine - I mucked up putting that into the machine meaning I missed my start-of-day coffee!
- Dianne (8/5): -
- Dante (9/5): Great stay - Property was nicely decorated. Loved the colour schemes and the layout. The instructions were clear to get the key.
There is a liquor store next door as well as many restaurants in the area. Great location. Would recommend!! I wish the condensation vent worked or there was one in the bathroom.
- Maryanne (7/5): Good location nice apartment - Good location close to the viaduct Noisey down town
- Ronnie (10/5): I would love to come back and stay again soon 👍🏻 - It was a lovely location, nearby ferry to waiheke island, around CBD area and close to amenities.
Nice and quiet at night
Would remind it to couples and families as security too was good
- Sandra (8/5): Good base on Auckland's central waterfront - Very good communication with the property manager with plenty of clear instructions and advice for parking. Would suggest adding that there's a marked delay on the door code actually activating the unlock, be patient and wait for the green lights to appear! Nice studio apartment with all that we could need and a folder of helpful information. Would be a lovely place to stay in summer. Lots of restaurants in the surrounding area. Surprised there was no double glazing to keep road noise down (not much foot or motor traffic in winter, but still someone with a very loud sound system drove slowly past early in the morning).
- Kelley (10/5): - Very nice place to stay.
- David (10/5): - Close to transport, and inner cbd.
- Trevor (10/5): Great value would book this again - Great central location excellent value for money. Plenty of room for two of us and the bed was very comfortable. Easy access to key and facilities. Parking was easy and using the ParkMate app, the cost was very cheap. One of the blinds in the main lounge was broken and they provided a Nespresso machine, but no capsules. Not a big deal really
- Kate (8/5): Very good -
- Brent (9/5): Superb - Excellent location, much better than a conventional hotel stay.
Some of the vessels docked at the area were unbelievable (that's not what we came for, just a side bonus).
And, the host had excellent recommendations for restaurants, etc., that we made full use of. Check-in was a mess simply because Booking.com did not provide the welcome email until the next day.
Luckily we were able to find contact info for the host and have instructions emailed directly (Lesley kept trying through the Booking app without success - had to send directly to my email address to resolve).
- Donna (8/5): Really nice place to stay with close proximity to the CBD. - Instructions were great, everything worked right down to the app for the parking. Great location and very nice room. Awesome pressure in shower.
- Kristine (9/5): Perfect location, great amenities and great night’s sleep - Great location and had all amenities
- Lyssa (8/5): Very good -
- Dion (4/5): Beware street noise - Property is very comfortable and perfectly located, however noise from below street/parking and walkway is unbearable and constant all night long. If you are after a decent sleep, do not book.
- Tayla (10/5): - Great property, well managed
- Melanie (4/5): Great location, if you have a car expect to pay a lot for parking. - The location was fantastic, right in the heart of the CBD so within walking distance to most things. The bed was comfy and the apartment was very spacious with a lovely, long outside deck(no views of the city or sea) There was great natural light and an iron, clothes steamer and vacuum cleaner. Regardless of what the advertisement states, parking is not included, you have to pay an extra $60 a day unless you have a discount code any then may get it cheaper($40). There is no help for situations like this when things go wrong, as no one answers the phone, responds to answerphone messages or digital messages to the apartment. There were no free toiletries. The apartment is noisy as it is right nearby to the ferry terminals - we were expecting this, but not the building wash down with noisy equipment that started very early in the morning. Definitely bring earplugs and expect to pay a lot of money for parking, but other than that, it met our needs.
- Shubhasish (9/5): Wonderful property in the Viaduct - Location and the apartment Nothing
- Jenni (9/5): Superb - Convenience of location and ease of parking and entry.
- Denise (8/5): - Great stay as always.Walking distance to Viaduct Restaurants and shopping.Always feel safe there as swipe access to get into the Apartments.
- Christelle (7/5): Good -
- Connie (7/5): Princess wharf accom - Location was awesome. Bed was very comfy. Loved the nespresso coffee.
Really clear instructions given for parking and entry to accomodation. Some upkeep required -no cover over sink hole in bathroom, bathroom door wouldn't stay closed, room needed airing.
- alex (10/5): - Great space and very clear instructions for finding the apartment.
- Graham (5/5): A reasonable room for the price but quite dated and definitely motor anyone who wants to park a car. - Comfortable bed. The noisy street outside. We were not warned that we would have to move our car quite a distance from the unit when a cruise ship was in harbour. The signage about this appeared without warning and was very unclear with dire warnings about our (hire) car being towed at 5.000am if we got the parking wrong. We followed what we thought the signs meant but everyone else seemed to be doing the opposite. We barely slept all night worrying about our car being towed as we had to meet deadlines the next day. In the end, since we were both awake since midnight we got up at 4.00 am and left by 5.00 with almost no sleep. We asked a security guard as we were leaving and he say that he agreed the signs were very confusing and we could have left our car there after all!! We did see two cars towed away however as we were leaving.
- Nancy (10/5): - Perfect location for those boarding cruises. Great restaurants in area and shopping. Maritime museums next door.
- Julie (9/5): Great location to explore by foot - We chose this property for the location and parking. Easy access to walk around the Viaduct where you will find some good restaurants.
- Eric (5/5): Wasn’t short enough - Not much No email to receive number to access the apartment ! When managed the access to open the door had to fiddly little lock.
After with help the combination went across the road to bib the door then finally used a key to open up to a tired looking apartment 😵💫
- Cheri (10/5): Lovely space to get away - Gorgeous studio looking out over carpark but still private and refreshing. Cooking facilities, restaurants right at your door and clean
- Sue (7/5): Great location. - Location This apartment needs net curtains like all the others around it we felt like we were in a fish bowl. Bathroom is well overdue for a spring clean and very dusty in other areas floor could do with a good mop and skirting boards and furniture needs a good wipe down.
- Catherine (8/5): Very good -
- Ross (6/5): Pleasant - Great location
Bit of a mission to work out how to get into the apartment
- John (8/5): - The apartment was well equipped so we were able to prepare several meals. Had trouble trying to navigate the TV and on several occasions the program dropped out and we had to work our way through to begin again (lack of instructions on what to do!).
Parking was expensive and because we had to book online were not able to access the cheaper version available (apparently) only with an app.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The lady (Daisy) at the Wharf Office was very helpful.
- Leanne (7/5): Good - The space and seating areas on the verandah I was expecting a water view but unfortunately the apartment was on the other side with a view into the opposite building.
- Kathy (6/5): - Property was on a pier next to the ferries.
- Lormar (10/5): Wonderful location, Clean tidy and very comfortable Studio Unit with balcony to enjoy the sun. - Loved the location as close to Spark Arena and Viaduct plus view when walking of the Cruise Boats.
- Bernard (7/5): Good -
- Jayne (8/5): Nice place. - On the wharf where the cruise ships dock. Lots of places to eat. Nice balcony. Comfy bed. The parking situation wasn't great as there were 3 cruise ships in port.
- Richard (5/5): Passable - The Noise from the street - carpark below
- Karen (8/5): Very good -
- Keith (8/5): Very good -
- Mustafa (10/5): Exceptional -
- rick (2/5): - Absolutely no amenities inside the studio: no hand soap in kitchen, no soap in bathroom (had to fill with water to bathroom hand soap to use), no Kleenex, one kitchen towel (had to use to sop up water outside leaking shower door), etc. Very disappointing! Elevator broke down on second day, no direction to nespresso as stated in notebook, etc.
- Ashley (9/5): Superb - Extremely well situated and astonishingly well furnished.
- William (6/5): Overnight in Auckland - Nice apartment, had thought there was a view but just the inside section. Noisy in the morning. Did appreciate the stay till the cleaners come. We had an 11am ferry and stayed to 1015, which suited well
- Hamish (5/5): Good location, overpriced for the quality of the property - Close to downtown and the viaduct Bathroom was poor
Bathroom door broken
Shower door leaked
Sofa bed was a small single, no pillow provided, no blankets provided
I felt the apartment was overpriced for the quality
- Philip (8/5): Nice venue would definitely stay again - Position and size and balcony It was a bit noisy outside the premises
- Wendy (8/5): - It’s a great location and the hosts sent plenty of detailed instructions and rules prior to arrival. The lack of access to a regular front desk and the parking concerns due to cruise ships’ blocked off restrictions for the wharf gave us a little worry that we don’t have with hotels. Otherwise, it was a lovely stay and the unit itself had great amenities. The pros definitely outweighed my unwarranted fretting. ;) Thank you! Next time will be easy peasy!
- Rhonda (6/5): Pleasant -
- Karen (8/5): Very convenient location -
- Charles (3/5): Misleading - None at all Did not receive the email regarding the lock box will after 2 PM
No location for storage the luggage before checking in instead I end up paying $ 35 New Zealand
When I return the luggage sto come Store had the code for the lock box
In the kitchen and living room out of aound 10 light only 6 lights were working
The dryer did not work and the television code was the wrong code
One last thing there we were bitten by some type of bug and the picture on the website was VERY misleading
- Ian (10/5): - Nice, convenient accommodation.
Exactly as expected.
- Wong (7/5): Good -
- Cheryl (10/5): - Great location, lovely place.
- Emma (10/5): - Great for what we wanted, location ideal for us so we could walk everywhere. Apartment was clean and tidy, shower was fantastic and instructions were clear enough to get the key etc. Overall a great experience, many thanks!
- Melinda (10/5): Perfect location, comfort and value. - The location was beyond perfect! Everything was so close and easy to walk to. The studio apartment was well equipped, plenty of room and very comfortable. The occasional car alarms and street noise was a bit unpleasant, however that’s not the fault of the apartment. The positives far outweigh this only negative.
- Bobby (7/5): Good - Towels had a dirty smell
- Perry (10/5): Lived up to expectations - Instructions for the property and parking were excellent and clear. n./a
- Colleen (6/5): Pleasant - We love staying her location suits us fine for work Last stay we noted and left a note to say the water tap in the kitchen was leaking, still leaking
Cleaning and washing was not finished, we were not left any hand towels, we dried some in the dryer to use
We had no body wash in the shower
