- Tiffany (10/5): Excellent stay and delightful spaces - This place is a dreamy oasis in the city! The rooms and hang out spaces are set back from the road - it was super quiet. VERY clean. Everything worked well. Wifi was great. All staff very nice. Location convenient. A great place to plop and relax if you have been traveling a while or do any work online. They do laundry in house. Only good things to say. Thank you for such a great stay!

- Yuki (10/5): Lovely place in Quito - - The private room was clean, comfortable, and very reasonably priced. The terrace is lovely, and the staff were nice and welcoming. - Bidet Toilet!! Never expect to have this in South America - Laundry service was convenient and affordable at $5 for wash and dry. I dropped my clothes off at the reception around 8pm and picked them up the next morning at 7am. - Getting an Uber was also easy from this location. - One small downside was that I sent a message in advance to ask about laundry but didn’t receive a response. - Also, the café inside the hostel opens at 8am, so I couldn’t grab a coffee to go as I had to leave earlier.

There's nothing in the local area but it's a 15 minute walk to the tourist area. There's also a metro stop right outside. There was a water fountain right outside my room so I heard running water all the time. I just unplugged it at night :-). I plugged it back in in the morning.

- Charlotte (9/5): We love Quito Terrace! - Amazing peaceful hostel! Love the terrace garden 🪴 it’s beautiful! The staff are lovely, the $3.50 breakfast is amazing value! We used the laundry service twice and it’s brilliant, and they let us store our luggage while we went to the Amazon for a few days! We have already booked to come back! 😊 We loved mostly everything, but there were no oven gloves or tea towel in the kitchen one night so struggled with the hot pan, but it was fine we found a spoon! ☺️ A shower mat outside the shower would be great, to stop the floor getting so wet.

The staff is very friendly and helpful which made my stay here feel like home! The rooms were incredibly clean and the beautiful terrace was a great place to unwind after a long day of exploring the city. Amazing value for the price, and I will definitely stay here again!!
- Beatriz (10/5): Premium quality in a Hostel like a hotel - I absolutely loved everything about this place. It's a quiet spot where you can rest well. Superbly located near the metro station and the bus that takes you directly to the middle of the world. Also, it's very close to the city center, about 20 or 30 minutes away, depending on the traffic. El Panecillo is relatively close too. An incredible place to stay in Hostel Quito! Previously, I stayed at Hostel Secret Garden but decided to move because many people, including non-guests, would enter the restaurant and bar late at night, making a lot of noise with loud music. This made it feel unsafe. Hostel Quito is incredible in especially Edison and doesn't have these issues. It's super safe with security cameras, and the kitchen is spacious and professional, ideal for travelers. The $3 breakfast is one of the best—delicious and clean. The staff is very accommodating, providing shampoo, soap, and towels. The bed was super clean and comfortable, and the bathroom was spacious and spotless, with beautiful wooden floors. The hostel has a lovely garden. If you need to work during your stay, you'll love it here. Sure, I'll incorporate these recommendations into the review: --- I do have a couple of recommendations. The pillows could be more comfortable, similar to the beds. I found them too hard and preferred to sleep without them. Another suggestion is to place a mat in the bathroom outside the shower to prevent slipping.

- Sonja (10/5): amazing hostal for a really good price! - It was amazing! We stayed there for 3 nights. The man at the reception was really nice. The don‘t offer Tours but he knows some agencies so gave us a number from a really good agency with which we did two day-tours. The laundry service is also good and kind of cheap. The Hostal is next to a big park and at night it‘s quiet. Also the historic center is in a walkable distance. I read that some of the reviews say it‘s a sketchy neighborhood - during the night it seems a little bit sketchy but same sketchy as everywhere else - bc of the current situation you should take a Uber anyway at night. So I can totally recommend this hostal! It‘s a good price and comfy. The only thing is that they didn‘t change our towels once but I am sure they would if we asked directly.

- Nc (10/5): A real gem in the center of Quito! - This hotel is a real gem! Comfortable, affordable accommodation conveniently located opposite El Ejido Park and within walking distance of the Historic Centre. The room and ensuite bathroom were spacious, clean and well appointed. The Staff were super friendly and helpful. Eddie, at reception, is worth his weight in gold! His English is very good and he went out of his way to be helpful in any way he could. If we ever return to Quito I would definitely book here again! Little not to like about this hotel although the bed was quite firm (I found it ok but my wife found it very hard). She also found the stairs a challenge with her luggage, although I quite enjoyed the exercise! :)

Close to metro station and trolebús station. Shops just outside the door. Surrounding is safe. Staff is very helpful. kitchen should supply some gloves and more rags as it will be too hot to hold the cover when cooked. This is necessary! it is a bit hard to find them as the number of the building invisible and the name is under a cover, suggest put the number as mentioned in the platform clearly outside the door or on the wall outside!

Great cafe on site, very nice staff , especially the nightwatch! early check in allowed us to explore the city already in the morning! the shower needs a lot of patience to adjust the water temperature, all the rest was great!
- Natasha (7/5): Quick stay to end Ecuador visit - Like that there are no bunks all standard beds. Provide locker hanger and hook. Shower was always hot and powerful. Towel looked slightly dirty, no shampoo or shower gel in bathroom. No shelf in shower.
- Buyu (10/5): Amazing view and stay - The terrace of the hostel really lives up to its name. I have never seen any hostels are this beautifully decorated with natural plants and massive sitting and common space areas. The terrace also has fantastic view of one of the city parks, and great for people watching and observing local livelihood. Kitchen is also very well equipped with an industry grade gas stove (fantastic for asian stir fries!) and various condiments. Portable water tank is also provided free of charge. Location is just about 5 minutes off the nearest Metro exit and 10 minutes to the biggest fresh market - Santa Clara. All the bars and restaurants in / around La Mariscal are also within walking distance. Beds are also very premium with no upper bunks, big bathroom with piping hot shower and high water pressure. Towels and soups are provided free of charge. Onsite laundry room (extra fee) Highly recommend for guests aren't into young backpacker scene (The secret gardens?) but yet still seeking for convenience and affordability. Not many people around. I think partially due to the security situation but also I think its lack reviews on hostelworld. No onsite tour agency.

Breakfast in the cafe was nice - $4 for avocado and eggs, guac was delicious. Juice and instant coffee but you can upgrade to a proper coffee if you like. Laundry service fast and good value. Room was very large and comfortable. Cute Pomeranian doggy at reception Our room only had a small window and it was quite stuffy, with a slight smell. Didn’t hugely bother us but air freshener would have made it a 10!

- Robert (10/5): Exceptional - Rooms 9 and 10 are directly on the very beautiful rooftop terrace which is very green with lots of flowers, even hummingbirds come to feed. The terrace is very quite and has places to sit and enjoy the view. The rooms are nice and clean and the staff is very friendly and helpful.
- V (10/5): Exceptional - Great value for money. This hostel is walking distance from the city centre and they have an international bank near which doesn't take commission for foreigners. The staff were really helpful, and they allowed us to leave the luggage for a few days that we were travelling to Galápagos and the Amazon. The decor is also beautiful and pleasant. Breakfast for $3 is also great, and they have laundry service and a great kitchen with a terrace upstairs 😀 Our bed wasn't the most comfortable, but we had the economic double room, so the cheapest .

- Loraine (10/5): Exceptional - This Hostal is one of the nicest hostels I've ever stayed in. The interior design is so beautiful, it has a gorgeous terrace and it's incredibly clean and at a great and safe location in Quito (close to the Artisanal market and a great chocolate shop, the old town is either 15-20 minutes walking distance or easily reachable with the Bus). For business reasons I stayed at the Hilton Hotel across the street the week before but needed a more budget solution for the night before my flight back and I've never stayed at a hostel before where I would say that the rooms are comfier, nicer and especially decorated better than a 4-star hotel but this is the case for Quito Terrace. If I'm ever back in Quito again, this Hostal will be my go-to location to stay. Absolutely nothing, it was amazing.

Nothing to say, everything was perfect (except maybe that I didn't get to meet the dog of the hotel I've seen in the pictures before and don't walk around at night which is because it's Quito)
- Ryan_brady (8/5): Very good - Very pleasant and helpful staff. The room was clean and fresh towels were provided often. The hostel also has a nice coffee shop attached which was very handy. There is a spacious communal kitchen and supermarkets very close by. The location was well placed between the historical centre, and Parque La Carolina, where there are many restaurants and shops around. The area where the hostel is located seemed fine during the day time, however we were warned by both tour guides and Uber drivers that the area is not safe at night time. We had no issues during our stay though and would definitely recommend this hostel to anyone visiting Quito as it is great value for money with very nice staff.
