• Sheila (6/5): Would not recommend here - We were very disappointed with this accommodation. The bedroom had a wooden floor which you could see daylight through and canvas walls with doors with lots of gaps. This meant that there were lots of bugs and lizards in the room. The staff were not very attentive, other than the nice lady in reception. There is nothing to do here and there was no WiFi. The room went from stiflingly hot to freezing over night. Over priced and would have preferred a tent with a tight zip rather than here. On the plus size the shower rooms were nice and bug spray was provided. However , bug spray was pointless due to the easy access for bugs to enter the bedroom.

• Guido (10/5): Eine tolle Lodge in den roten Bergen - Eine sehr schöne Lodge (Plateau Lodge) in den roten Bergen. Nach der herausfordernden Zufahrt zur Lodge wurden wir von Werner herzlich empfangen, der auch gleich den Rhino Drive organisierte. Sehr empfehlenswerte Tour mit vielen Rhino-Begegnungen. Der Aufenthalt war der Schluss unserer Namibia-Tour und hat sich ausserordentlich gelohnt.
• Matthijs (6/5): Mooie locatie, koud in winter - Kan een leuke ervaring zijn in de zomer als je van kamperen houdt, maar in de wintermaanden in onze opinie niet aan te raden omwille van de koude, in kamer was het s nachts rond vriespunt en geen verwarmingselement of waterkruik Ze zijn wel zeer milieubewust en lekker eten + mooie locatie

Great hikes around the property however due the heavy rain the tracks were hard to follow so we did the guided walks instead. We loved the food here and the service is great.

• Joanna (10/5): Amazing views and guaranteed rhinos - We had a wonderful time at Waterberg Wildness. We stayed in the Valley Lodge. Note that there are several different lodges all a few km apart. We enjoyed a self-hike and also did the game drive offered. It is guaranteed to see rhinos as they live within the farm/reserve itself. We also saw giraffes in the park. The plateau itself has excellent views. The evening buffet was good, although not extensive (beef and chicken and veg) because there were only 4 tables. All the staff were very helpful. The last 24km of the drive are in a gravel road which was a bit rough in places and a 4x4 is recommended to get to the lodges themselves, which is then straightforward. We did have a problem with our shower, but it was fixed within 30mins. Overall, we were delighted we chose to stay here when we were originally not sure whether to visit waterberg.

• Frank (10/5): - Wunderschöne Lodge, tatsächlich mitten in der Wildnis gelegen. Alleine die Anfahrt auf der Schotterpiste und dann in das Tal ist ein Erlebnis. Die Zeltunterkünfte sind geräumig und lassen keine Wünsche offen. Man hat einen wunderschönen Blick auf das Waterberg Plateau. Die Moskitonetze sollte man aber auf jeden Fall benutzen. Sonst wird es eine unruhige Nacht. Das Abendessen im Restaurant war ein echtes Erlebnis. Koch und Kellner haben es mit Gesangseinlagen untermalt. Klar ist das touristisch, aber es war schon etwas Besonderes. Wir hatten den Rhino-Drive gebucht. Hier kommt man ganz nahe an die Nashörner heran. Diese werden von Rangern "beobachtet", so dass eine Nashornsichtung garantiert ist. Wir haben das Fahrzeug verlassen und sind zu Fuß zu drei Nashörnern gegangen, die unter einem Baum Siesta gemacht haben. Wir konnten uns den Nashörnern auf ca. 5 Meter nähern. Später haben wir dann noch ein weiteres Nashorn gesehen. Hier durften wir auf Anweisung des Rangers das Fahrzeug aber nicht verlassen.
• Caroline (8/5): Ein besonderer Ort - Wir haben statt des Zeltes ein geräumiges Familienzimmer bekommen. Uns gefiel der ökologische Aspekt der Unterkunft. Haben den Rhino Drive und den Plateau Hike gemacht. Beides super. Essen auch sehr gut.
• Pascal (10/5): Best place to start Namibia travels - The first station of our trip in Namibia did exceed our expectations. The views from our "tent" as well as the "restaurant" were amazing. Breakfast and dinner were delicious. We would come again.

• Bernd (6/5): - Die Unterkunft scheint "in die Jahre gekommen", z.B. sind Insektengitter defekt, so dass nachts kaum ein Fenster geoffnet werden kann, die Liegen am Pool waren nict ansehnlich, so dass ich mich ohne Handtuch noch nicht mal darauf gesetzt hätte. Die Servicemitarbeiter sind leider nicht durchgängig freundlich, so dass Freundlichkeit positiv auffiel. Das Essen war eine Zumutung was die Auswahl angeht. Ein 4-Gänge-Menü ohne Auswahlmöglichkeit. Boeuf Stroganoff und Schnitzel in Afrika! Der Geschmack war jedoch gut. Am ersten Tag war die Karte auf einem abgerissenen Zettel per Hand geschrieben. Insgesamt passte Preis-Leistung überhaupt nicht.
• Maureen (10/5): Great place to relax - Great place very quiet. To get the most would need to like hiking I think. We were happy to lazy around and just watch the bird life. Good food and service. The afternoon drive was also well worth it.
• Verified traveler (8/5): Wunderschöne Gegend - Wunderschön gelegene Lodge, Wohnzelte mit toller Aussicht. Organisierte Touren zum Wandern bzw. Rhino- Beobachtung konnten gebucht werden. Sehr nettes Personal. Gegend hat uns sehr gut gefallen!
• Ulrike (8/5): - Die Möglichkeit zum Rhino Tracking zu Fuß ist außergewöhnlich und es war eine tolle Erfahrung, so nah diesen Tieren gegenüberstehen zu können. Zufahrt ca 25 km von der Hauptstraße in der Regenzeit nur mit Allrad zu empfehlen
• winfried (2/5): nie wieder - Trotz der spektakulären Landschaft war der Aufenthalt im Waterberg Wilderness eine grosse Enttäuschung. Angefangen hat es mit einer extrem unfreundlichen Behandlung beim Einchecken, über die wir uns auch beschwert haben - allerdings ohne irgendeine Reaktion. Das Zimmer war einfach und entsprach keinesfalls dem Standard einer Unterkunft für EUR 350,-- pro Nacht. Koffer konnten nicht ausgepackt werden, da kein einziger Schrank vorhanden war, lediglich eine Kleiderstange mit zwei (!) verrotteten Kleiderbügeln. Bisher hatten wir nur sehr freundliche Hotelmitarbeiter in Namibia erlebt, hier blickte man fast ausnahmslos in finstere Mienen. Das Essen im ungemütlichen, düsteren Speisesaal war kaum geniessbar, Fazit: nach zwei Tagen sind wir geflüchtet, obwohl drei Übernachtungen schon bezahlt waren.
• Gerhard (4/5): - Es war auf unserer ganzen Rundreise leider die schlechteste aber auch die teuerste Lodge. Abendessen war geschmacklich gut aber doch eher billigst. Hauptgang war Gulasch mit Nudeln. Frühstück war auch eher dünn. Gibt zwar einen Pool aber ohne jeglicher Liegefläche bzw. Liegen. Liegen nur an der Lodge wo sich auch ein "Zweimann" Pool befindet. Im Vergleich zu allen anderen Unterkünften war hier leider Preis / Leistung unterirdisch. Man bezahlt wirklich die Lage.

• julie (10/5): Amazing place - What an amazing place. Quite remote so very peaceful. Don’t expect good internet as it’s there but slow. I went on the rhino safari and the guides were excellent very knowledgeable and we saw all of them and you’re allowed to get right up close to them. The road there is quite challenging as it’s a sand road with some flooded rivers to cross if it’s the rainy season so beware. Would definitely recommend for hiking.

Wir haben uns alle drei angeschaut und fanden die günstigen Zelte am schönsten. Groß mit schönem Bett und Holzfussboden. Schöne Terrasse mit traumhaftem Blick ins Tal. Dazu ein eigenes direkt an das Zelt anschließendes gemauertes Bad mit Dusche.

Got there at 7:00 but didn’t get our first course until 7:30. Only two waitstaff for 20+ people. Internet rarely worked. No idea who at lodge was in charge. I would not recommend to family or friends.

Au calme, on appéricie la nature dans son état sauvage avec quelques animaux aux alentours. Point négatif: Les lodges dispose d'un espace censé être dédié à une cuisine mais sans équipement.
• Petra (8/5): - Traumhafte Lage am Ende des Tales. Unbedingt die Rhino-Tour mitmachen. Man bekommt eindrucksvolle Fotos aus nächster Nähe. Auch die Plateau-Hiking-Tour ist sehr zu empfehlen. Wir haben sehr viel über Pflanzen, Tiere und Lebensgewohnheiten gelernt. Das Abendessen ist zwar schmackhaft, aber wir hätten uns mehr typisch afrikanisches Essen gewünscht.
• Rob (2/5): - During our trip through Namibie we stayed in 7 different locations and placed and this was the worst. In turned out that this place has three different locations. The first one is a kind of camp area, the second one is located in the valley and the third one is up in the hills. It is and was not clear what we booked and given the price (on average this location was twice as expensive in comparison with our other locations) we assumes that we would end up in the lodges up on the hill. However we ended up in the valley where the lodges are outdated and dark. From a value of money point of view this location is way too expensive. The staff is friendly and the diner (mainly the main-course) was not good. The area is nice but as this was our last night in Namibia the scenery was not that spectacular in comparison with other sites we had seen. So in comparison with the other locations and the price paid this location received the lowest score from us.

Op Hotel.com site is het niet duidelijk aangegeven welke van de drie mogelijkheden je nu juist geboekt hebt. Moet wat duidelijker aangegeven worden. Wel een luxe tent met het venster op en in de natuur. Het was er wel zeer warm.
• Nina (8/5): - Total abgelegene Unterkunft mit sehr guter Möglichkeit für verschiedene Wanderungen. Essen war sehr gut und Frühstück war auch ok. Wasser gab es von der eigenen Quelle.
• Simone (10/5): Schön,ruhig, für Naturliebhaber. Sauber, gemütlich - Saubere große Zimmer, gemütlich. Lediglich fehlten Fliegengitter vor den Fenstern. Personal sehr freundlich. Essen gut und reichhaltig. Im Garten kann man von der Sonnenliege aus den ganzen Tag lang Tiere beobachten, z.B. Zebramangusten, Affen, Klippschliefer, kleine Antilopen. Wir waren nur 1 Nacht da und alle Touren waren bereits ausgebucht. Es lihnt sich also frühzeitig zu reservieren.
• GAVIN (6/5): A tip on choosing your tours - Make sure you know whether you want to do the Plateau tour (which they don't offer or even tell you about and has to be booked directly with NWR - and has lots of great wildlife) or whether you want to tour around their conservancy (where, introduced, habituated White Rhino sightings are almost guaranteed). If you're there for two days, you can obviously do both.

• Tatjana (10/5): Beautiful views, amazing staff - The room that I booked online seemed superior from what the lodge staff gave me on arrival but I didn't mind. It was basic chalet but fitted in with the surroundings, it was clean and beds were very comfortable. The views are amazing. The food they served us was out of this world! Well presented, well served and tasty! In the middle of wilderness! With great views! And great wine! We had a problem with a car and the staff were amazing! They all tried to help and with success. Unforgettable!
