Guest Reviews
- vickip123 (10/5): Enjoyed our stay - We had a very pleasant stay for four days as we visited towns and attractions nearby. We stayed in a fireplace suite and loved it. Very comfortable. Very clean. Every staff member was pleasant and helpful. We never visited the casino. We ate in the Decorah several times. Best chicken wild rice soup. We needed a rest and this was the right place. Recommended! (Don't miss nearby Alexander Ramsey Park. Beautiful waterfall. And the downtown has a top-notch bookstore, Chapter Two.)
- Sherpa01143872672 (2/5): Was told to“Sit down and shut up” - Was told to“Sit down and shut up”. Please please please don’t stay here. I stayed for a weekend with the golf stay and play package. Two people that I stayed with got sick from the food. As for the golf package, the price was great but the shuttles to and from the hotel were an hour late both days. After the second day of waiting an hour for a shuttle, I complained to the hotel that it was ridiculous. The manager then told me to “Sit sown and shut up”. No apologies, no compensation, and I was honestly scared to stay there for the night.
- minnesotans4 (6/5): Just average in all areas - The hotel advertises Wi-Fi access which is true if you are in the lobby and have a room facing the main parking lot which are the odd numbered rooms. Otherwise, you will have zero Wi-Fi and all your calls will fail. Smoking is prevalent throughout the casino and even if you request a non smoking room there is no guarantee it truly was a non smoking room. We have been in such rooms and the heavy smell of sprays attempting to camouflage the smoking linger for hours.
The towels are old, thin and scratchy. The beds are comfortable though.
We ate at their main dining room and each ordered the small sirloin steak. My husband likes a steak well done and his steak was well done/burnt. I told the server several times I like my steak medium and definitely pink or even red. Mine was served well done/burnt. I did mention this to the server and he said the cook had been employed 1 1/2 months and it definitely showed.
There was a mention of refrigerators in the rooms. We have stayed here on other occasions and have never seen one.
- tgrier (8/5): Decent stay at a decent hotel. - This was my second time at the Jackpot Junction hotel. The desk staff are efficient and got our large group all situated pretty quickly. The room was clean, the towels fluffy, the bed comfortable. The air conditioning worked a little too well. i kept turning the thermostat up and it stayed very cool in the room. The pool area is nice with a good-sized hot tub. Pool area open until midnight, and the 10 p.m.-midnight time was supposed to be adults only. The hot tub has only about three jets that actually move water and not too vigorously. Overall a decent stay I guess Id try it again, and hope they fix the hot tub.
- Bryanem (8/5): Nice hotel, reasonably priced. - My first stay here in the remodeled rooms. Clean, nice decor, decent sized TV. Unlike the metro area casinos, their room prices are very reasonable. Housekeeping is friendly and fast. Check in is always fast and easy. Just a great property and I always enjoy my stays here.
- tgrier (8/5): Older Property, Well-Maintained, Nice Pool Area - We liked it. Took a four-hour bus trip to JackPot Junction Casino Hotel. Stayed one night, enjoyed some gambling, liked the pool area, had some decent food, and rode the bus back home. The Full Deck Dining is a short-order food place: pay as you order, then get your food when they call your number. Nothing fancy, but good burgers, fries and chicken. The Dacotah Dining is a sit-down restaurant, with slow service, but good breakfast. The beds were firm, room was clean, lobby staff were nice, and the pool area was great with warm pool, nice hot-tub and sauna.
- B9970GJkimm (8/5): 36 Hour Reset - 1st tried to book room thru a3 rd party for a better rate. Online showed they had no rooms at all available. Called an talked to a receptionist and booked a jacuzzi room. For $157 not bad price. Got a 2 hour early check in!! (😁)
Room was clean, old furniture, bed was old , but clean. Room was spacious. Jacuzzi was hot an perfect!! And best of all I won $600 on the fire link game. Excellent place to reset. Now back home to Justin Texas ✌🏻
- Bryanem (6/5): Decent Room, Fun Casino, Great Restaurant, Bad Mattress - Check in was fast and easy. Room was decent. No refrigerator nor microwave. Beds were very soft and saggy mattress. The chair in our room had all kinds of disgusting stains on it. Casino was good, difficulty of slots was not too bad, my friend won $100 twice on $1.00 bets so that was fun.Restaurant was great, good food and fast service at very reasonable prices. The good things outweighed the bad and we will be back!
- D7937VGkarlaf (6/5): This visit was for business purposes only. This was my first time here and I was not instructed on where anything was at - We didn’t have a microwave or a refrigerator in our room. The cable reception was not the greatest because while watching a show the reception would freeze. I had a reaction to the soap that was provided in the shower. I didn’t think that the shower soap dispensers was the best idea for sanitary purposes.
- U9293GJpmans (10/5): We’ve been to jackpot sooo many times over the years…. - We’ve been there sooo many times over the years for Gambling & their great food at their Buffet….
We’ve also been there for Concerts & a Wedding Reception - staying overnight in their Hotel. I heard they even have a real nice swimming recreation area…..
- Nikki (8/5): - it's a nice casino. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The pillows are terrible and I forgot mine and the bed dipped in the middle.
- Jacquelyn (10/5): - Great front desk staff are
- Bernard (8/5): - A good experience
- Neal (8/5): - The casino hotel can use some updating.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Hotel was nice, clean rooms, no smoke smell unlike the casino part
- Verified traveler (6/5): - My only complaint is that when I tried to unplug my phone charger, the outlet sparked and the power in the room went out. I called the front desk and was told someone would come up. The electric finally came back on, but nobody came to remove the lamp. (Charger was in lamp base)
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Hotel is fine. Has a pool. Rooms were clean and updated. Tv is a little small but most people don’t spend time in the room anyways. Biggest downfall is no mini fridge in the room. But most casino hotels don’t have one.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Everything was fine except the parking and security person. Our car was vandalized during the night and the security guard was very unhelpful.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - History of the area friendly people good food
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The whole staff was very friendly
- Steven (10/5): Nice hotel and casino - I stayed at this Hotel while attending "The Great Beyond" music festival. Excellent staff and service. Would recommend.
- taffy2012 (8/5): Very good stay - Excellent service for checking and at restaurant.
Room was large and very nice. Shower and bathroom were fine.
Was there for a golf trip and very convenient location.
Not a 5 star hotel but very fine.
Can't understand why it is getting so many poor reviews.
- Verified traveler (8/5): -
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The staff was so friendly and we really felt the smaller town hospitality. The casino was lively but the hotel rooms were quiet. We really enjoyed our visit.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Needs designated vehicle/boat/trailer parking
- Verified traveler (8/5): - This hotel is attached to a casino so there is smoking and that smell is everywhere but wasn’t too bad in the room itself. It was clean, people were friendly. It was nearby to some parks that we were interested in exploring. Great price for the room.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Close to Dacotah Ridge Golf Course which was important. Rooms are dated and nothing special. Nice to have a Caribou Coffee in hotel for grab and go breakfast. Other restaurant options were just okay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Front desk staff was nice! The bed was super comfortable. The room was very clean. There was no soap or shampoo in the room. Would be nice to have a mini fridge. We enjoyed the casino and not a lot of smokers so we appreciated that. Our room was on 3rd floor so it did not have the stale smoke smell. Overall very satisfied
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lisa at the front desk is the BEST! She is very accomidating and always friendly
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice place
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Although the room was clean and neat. The rooms were very out-dated and the one TV was a 24in TV secured to the wall. Unimpressive rooms, ive stayed at much better for less. Unfortunately their discount rate wasnt available on thier website and the only room available was on expedia for double.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - There was only one place to eat. You would have had to wait in crowded lines. I saw no one cleaning the machines. Even though they made announcements encouraging mask wearing and had sanitizers (the pumps didn't dispense automatically), I didn't feel they took Covid seriously. Actions speak louder than words.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very clean and has excellent food!! Staff very friendly and check in/out is easy
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice lay out easy to access to the casino from are room
- Carisa (8/5): no thrills - Hotel needs to update carpets. Nothing extraordinary about the rooms. would be nice to have a fridge
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The room was nice, beds were great. No fridge or microwave
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Casino,on site restraunt, free parking,
pool was closed.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Very disappointed that the pool and hot tub were closed and that was not stated on line on the website or not even when we got there. We were on the way to the pool when we told it’s closed. That’s one reason we stayed there to relax at the pool after gambling. Very understaffed at restaurant. Service took a long time but the waitresses were running there butts off. Wine served in a milk glass. We paid premium hotel price for very sub par setting and service. Room was very clean.
- Julie (6/5): Disappointed - Took our kids along and they were hoping to go swimming and the pool was closed! Somewhere during the reservation process that should have been noted! When asked about the pool they said it wasn’t going to be open for another month. Very disappointed!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Family trip. - Very helpful staff. They always had a smile. I will always stay when i come down that way.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Check in took forever, only one person at the desk and they were taking phone calls at the same time as checking us in. We weren’t given an amenity bag, so, we had coffee, but no cups, a shower, but no dial! I had to go down at 10:00 pm to get these things! Loud!! People slamming doors and loud in the hallway! Worst sleep I’ve ever gotten at a hotel!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - I like that there is caribou wish it was open longer then 5:00
- Amy (8/5): - We went hoping to swim and the pool wasn't open. Didn't find it on the website that it was closed. We had a disappointed child but we made the best of it
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very good!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was a casino
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was a nice set up. Easy to find everything.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very nice facility.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Friendly and helpful staff.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - we had to go to the front desk to obtain our towels.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Unfortunately there was a very loud group next to our room who were intoxicated and up all night.
- Katherine (8/5): - Understand it was a casino setting, but the smoke smell was overwhelming upon enter the hotel side of the casino.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It was dirt garbage around the building
- Betsy (6/5): - Check in was extremely slow even though had reservation. They were not busy, took over 10 minutes.
will not honor ADA, Hippa, or Public Accomodation when it comes to masking. Most personnel didn't seem to mind. A few did and demanded mask up. They'll give you a mask, but be warned it is not sterile or even real sanitary, sits in open box where customers all pass in entry and is handled by ungloved, unsanitized hands. If you stay for more than one night your room will not be refreshed with fresh towels or coffee. I did not ask as overall just not real impressed with service. Check out went very smothly.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It would be nice if the machine’s would pay out. I didn’t see anyone winning anything
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The staff was great the properly was being updated. Bed was comfortable. Room pretty quite if you ran fan. But the air quality was horrible even in the no smoking rooms. The smoke from casino was deplorable. I have never been in a casino with that much smoke! It traveled all the way to the rooms! It wasn't like that before made me sad.
- Sarah (10/5): Nice stay! - Always enjoy staying at Jackpot. Love that they have choices for dining, including a Caribou Coffee. Casino was clean. Room had a musty smell when heat was turned on but it was overall a clean room.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - They need to change the clovk in the room to the correct time
.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I got charged $25.00 after i had the room was prepaid
- greenprairiegirl (4/5): Going backwards. - This used to be my favorite casino because of the great restaurant with the large fireplace and great good. Now that has been torn down and fast food put in and the lines were long. Also wayyy to many smokers and no one wearing masks after 10 and pretty far gone in the bar area.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good choice of food also good vending machines everything was very pleasing. Thank You!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Good landscape with valley and water etc Small town feel. Smoking aloud though l.🐠
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was nice. No issues. It was great we all had fun
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Well there was still straw papers in the window when you pull the curtains back and the edge of the carpet needed to be vaccum
- Verified traveler (8/5): - No refrigeratot/Microwave
No fee if you checkin after 100 pm.
- Susan (4/5): Not happy - The cist was $20 more than i thought. The people next to us kept slamming a door all night abd talking loudly in the hallway. I know its the covid but no fridge or microwave? Wont stay here agai
- Arlyn (10/5): - nothing that i did not like food was great rooms were clean
- 574dustinj (4/5): Long Overdue for Renovation - I have family in the area so I typically stay at Jackpot when visiting them and have done so ever since the hotel was built about 25 years ago. Despite some expansions and minor updates, many aspects of the hotel have been largely unchanged throughout the years. Most of the rooms are looking dated, shabby, and generally in need of a complete overhaul. A few years ago, they renovated one section of the hotel and marketed the rooms as “premium”. I was happy to pay a slightly higher price for one of those rooms initially but unfortunately even those are looking a bit beat up these days.
On my most recent visit, I was given a room (327) in the oldest wing. The carpet was likely original (circa 1995) and had stains and just looked dusty/dirty around the entire perimeter. The furniture appeared to have been replaced recently with some super cheap particle board stuff you’d find at the local Walmart and was already warping/peeling. The door handle was just about falling off the bathroom door and there were no clothes hangers in the room. The tiny 32 inch TV also had almost no channels to watch. I was later told that their satellite had been knocked out a few days prior but no one bothered to mention that at check-in.
All in all, it’s just disappointing to see one of the few decent places to stay in the area be so poorly maintained these days. The price was reasonable and the shower had good water pressure but if a newer hotel ever opens up down the road in Redwood, I’ll likely be taking my business there instead.
- Jeff (10/5): - Native American artifacts on display are very interesting.
- Sara (10/5): Overnight - The gentleman working overnight at the hotel front desk was absolutely amazing. He went above and beyond to help me and make it easy for me to relax after a very stressful frustrating day. I will be back for sure. And will only check in overnight
- Bryanem (10/5): Nice Hotel, Great Value! - My room here was only $80/night. Mystic Lake, Treasure Island, Grand Casino were at $150 to $250 a night. The hotel is nice and clean. They gave us $10 each when we joined their players club. The restaurant was good with reasonable prices. They were nice and let us check out late. From now on I am coming here, with the money I save on the room I can have a lot more gambling and food money!
- iver0185 (2/5): Need A LOT of Work - Rooms are in need of attention. Water damage in the bathroom, old lumpy beds, worn carpet...I could go on. This place is uncomfortable. The view of the parking lot was great, if you like tar. Thin walls with noisy guests. Yuk.
- Cory (6/5): - I didn’t like that I ordered a king bed and ended up with two queen bed. When I ask they said they were sold out of king beds. When on the app expedia said they were all sold out queens,I order a king and the end up with two queen. That was my only problem with the place. It very well maintained and staff is very nice.
- Wanda (8/5): Weekend getaway - Comfortable, clean, and friendly service
- Mike (8/5): - Very clean. Sheets were not soft. Staff was fabulous.
- teresabN3300MO (8/5): Hotel service disappointing - Visit in June, 2020 (our 3rd visit to this property). At check-in the desk clerk was unresponsive/didn't even greet us/not welcoming at all. Got to our room & there was no ice bucket. I called the front desk to ask for one & was informed they no longer supply ice buckets, ice or plastic glasses that we would have to get them at the convenience store. I'm sure this is due to COVID, which is ridiculous as all other hotels we stayed in during this week provided all of these items. The kind coffee shop lady provided us with cups (free of charge). We used the ice machine because it was still working. The casino was fine except there was no hot water in the restrooms.
- Shonnie (10/5): Absolutely fabulous - i have never stayed in a hotel that was so clean. Not one speck of mold in the bathroom. Would highly recommended this place. Just wish we had more time to check out the casino and buffet.
- Betty (10/5): GREAT COMFORT - It was amazing. Rooms were clean. Staff was vety friendly.
- Lazza (8/5): - It was quiet, and the room was clean and comfortable. Had to do without some amenities, due to corona 19, but that is OK.
- Patty (10/5): Good times! - Our stay was great! We stayed in a king suite, was amazed how big the room was. Very friendly staff. Nice and clean! Casino was nice too!
- Michael (8/5): Plugged toilet - There was no Soap or Shampoo in the rooms. No fridge or Microwave.
First thing was toilet problem
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Good time. Friendly wait staff. Goof food wild slots.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Property is rundown and outdated. No complimentary breakfast or breakfast discounts.
- Bondibear (8/5): - Good gaming. Decent food. Reasonable prices. Not much else to say.
- Linda (8/5): - This was a "bare bones" room. No fridge, no microwave, just a bed and bath! Thankfully, there were several options for eating in the Casio.
- Angie (6/5): - Took too long to check in
- Cathrine (8/5): - Beds were nice. old room
- Robert (8/5): Hotel is good food not so much - The hotel was fine. I upgraded to a suite which worked out perfect for me. The rooms are on the older side but had seemed to be somewhat updated. Over this is good hotel for the cost. The food on the other hand is a completely different subject. Not very good food at the casino in general. We will just leave it at that
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Everyone was friendly... Check in could of been better
- Shelley (8/5): - Room was very nice. Had to stay due to weather conditions. Decided to play downstairs in the casino for a bit. Could only do that about 45 min. WAY TO MUCH SMOKE AND YOU WERE SLOW BECAUSE OF WEATHER. Can’t imagine how bad it would be on a busy night. Yuck!!!!! You need a no smoking area in the casino, BADLY!!!
- Michael (10/5): Always a good time - Clean and nice place. Easily the best place to stay in the area.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The room is dirty. We were ended up with the handicap room. No bath tup. No housekeeping.
- Robin (10/5): Weekend get away - they are staying on top of an aging hotel. It was nice. not awesome, But nice.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Don't mind the bed being firm. BUT the pillows were like putting your head on a boulder!!!!! Hardly slept at all with those super-hard pillows 😠
- Verified traveler (6/5): - I appreciated the assistance from the Manager at the restaurant as I forgot to bring a cork screw for a bottle of wine and she was kind enough to open the bottle after I went to the shop and the store across the parking lot to purchase one.
- Shanelle (8/5): Comfortable - Accommodations were great. Good experience checking in. Slept so well the beds and linens were fabulous
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was quite good. Satisfied with the service...
- Janet (8/5): Average hotel stay - As this was a business trip, I like strong desk lighting and it was dim.
I used the fitness center and the equipment was good and had several high quality pieces to use.
The restaurant food was average, nothing memorable. Not much else in the area to choose from.
- Dawn (10/5): - It was very pleasant. Nice staff and very comfortable.
- Melissa (10/5): - On our way to Greenbay for a game and stayed at the hotel on the way. Had a lovely stay.
- Linda (10/5): - The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable but i thought the pillows were too firm. The restaurant is beautiful the food was very good!
