Guest Reviews
- Mallika (10/5): - We had the most wonderful stay at East View – it truly felt homely, comfortable, and cosy from the moment we arrived. The quaint charm of Garrigill made our trip so special, and even though the weather was harsh, we couldn’t have enjoyed it more, especially spending evenings by the fireplace.
Lana was absolutely wonderful in taking care of us. She went above and beyond to organise a delicious vegan breakfast and made sure every detail of our stay was comfortable. Her warm hospitality really made us feel at home.
We also loved exploring the outdoors, especially our adventure to Ashgill Waterfall, which Lana kindly recommended.
All in all, it was the perfect countryside escape – we can’t wait to return!
- Steve (10/5): - A great retreat in the countryside.
- Adam (10/5): - All good
- Diana (10/5): Lovely cottage in a beautiful area. - Located in a beautiful little village, it was very inviting, warm and cosy with a comfy bed and good quality bedding. Also a nice lounge to sit in and a small area out front where we could sit out and enjoy a glass of wine whilst chatting to people passing. There was also a very good information book she had to tell us about the area and town. And it was a super breakfast, one of the best Ive ever eaten. Def recommend.
- Christopher (10/5): - Very friendly owner, great breakfast. Only downside was no local eatery so had to drive for dinner.
- Pauline (10/5): - Set in a quiet village. Good place to unwind
- Sam (10/5): Great for walkers - Great location for those walking along Pennine Way.
Great communication from owners.
Really nice breakfast and they also have some evening meal options while pub is not in service.
- Simon (10/5): - In the countryside away from hustle and bustle of a town.
- Matthew (10/5): Eastview B&B - Wonderful 2 night stay here. Hosts are very accommodating and nothing is too much trouble. Everywhere is clean and the room we had was very comfortable. Because of its location mobile phone signal can be challenging however they have Wi-Fi which helps you piggyback mobile phone signal to. A choice of breakfasts and times of breakfast is available.
A wonderful stay
- Gregg (10/5): 5 star - Excellent value gor money, lovely nice little touches like fresh milk and champagne glasses
- James (10/5): - Beautiful period cottage spot on the C2C and Pennine Way. Great river walks on the doorstep. Local pub still shut but Eastview will provide dinner if requested as an extra otherwise a drive to Alston is needed.
- Nilesh (10/5): Eastview - Stay was very good, very quaint cottage, very accomodating hosts. There is a lounge you can use. Small room at front of the house has its own seperate private bathroom, but gets very little sun so feels very slighty damp, the on suite room at the back is bigger and brighter.
- Andrew (10/5): Halfway stop off for Coast-to-Coast cycle - Me and a few friends did the Coast to Coast cycle route over a weekend and for two of us the Eastview was our half way stop off. This beautiful country house was absolutely amazing and very comfortable to rest our legs after a long days ride. The breakfast the next day was also very good and was more than enough to fuel us for the second stage of our ride. I highly recommend this lovely house to stay at and i will be revisiting again soon.
- Gareth (10/5): Wonderful stay in wonderful place! - An amazing stay at this wonderful and homely place. Our hosts were wonderful and friendly. The room was comfortable and we loved having use of the guest lounge space too. Would highly recommend!
- Antonie (10/5): A brilliant Stay over - Very nice indeed. Looking forward to a second visit next year.
A first class b&b and likewise with the service of Lana and Phil .
- Karen (10/5): Lovely B&B - Loved this little B&B Lana & Phil were so friendly and helpful. Lovely room really comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. Not much to do in the village but great for walkers or cyclists
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Proprietors very friendly and accommodating, making us feel at home immediately and very helpful.
- Trish P. (10/5): Quaint property - Lovely stay and area, wish we could have stayed longer
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Wonderful place to spend the night after a long day on the Pennine Way. Room was big and the bed very comfortable. Best shower! Dinner was a tasty chicken curry followed by decadent chocolate cake and ice cream. Lorna is a great host!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely situation. Quaint stone cottage. Attentive hosts. Pleasant rooms. Excellent cooking.
- IAN (10/5): Super one night stay - An outstanding B&B : I arrived after a very wet walk from Haltwhistle with clothing soaked . Invited to come in & take the wet dripping outer layers off on the stone floor : the owner put the lot to dry out on radiators & above the fire . She also advised me beforehand the pub had temporarily closed so did a wonderful comfort food evening meal of mince / dumplings & a couple of bottles of beer .
I had the double en suite at the back overlooking fields with a well equipped bathroom & excellent shower plus hot drinks & biscuits . A lovely comfy stay in a cosy cottage with super hosts , an ideal staging post if you are heading up/down Cross Fell to/from Dufton . The cooked breakfast was also excellent . There's nothing in Garrigill other than a small post office now the pub is shut(may reopen ?) Tip : Alston is about 4 miles away with shops to pick up supplies if walking in the area .
