Staff in restaurant definitely need training as rude and unprofessional and not able even to explain contents of a cheeseboard . Charged over 5 euros for one slice of bread which was described as bread basket With a lot of trouble we were anke to Rebe the second slice

• Marcus (10/5): Fabulous stay - The check in was fabulous and we had a lovely room (Room 1) that actually has a kettle! We had a terrace with views of Xativa Castle and also the town and valley, all framed by pine and cypress trees. Deb had injured her knee so was able to sit on the terrace, read her book and chill as we watched the sunset. We had breakfast both mornings at the hotel and the breakfast was fabulous and we ate far too much delicious food. After breakfast I had a wander around the grounds. The views really were spectacular, especially with the early morning mist, and you could see sections of the town walls stretching from the valley up to the castle. We ate one dinner in the hotel as Deb had already perused the menu, although I was somewhat sceptical. There were weird things like sea urchin, pig's ear, lamb gizzards and duck liver but I opted for sea bass and Deb had rabbit lasagna. The food was just magnificent. Right from the bread and olive oil, with the type of oil and its characteristics being explained to the main course and desserts there was nothing I could improve upon. I had two desserts - a cheesecake and a hazelnut mousse and both were fabulous. We left feeling full but not bloated, a lovely way to round off Deb's birthday. Our room was fabulously quiet, service throughout the hotel was impeccable, the room had modern heating/cooling if needed and a modern bathroom. • Wil (8/5): - Pros: - Staff were very friendly and welcoming. - Room was very clean, spacious and nicely decorated. We had a lovely view from the terrace of the castle. - Pretty location surrounded by nature. - Walking distance to castle and town. - Free parking. Cons: - Bathroom had a strong drain/sewage smell after using shower and sink. Window is difficult to open as it’s very high up. - Pool was not open during our stay (February) which we were aware of during the booking process but I would say that it looked quite underwhelming. - We booked a table for dinner at the hotel restaurant noting that they had paella on the menu (we don’t eat meat but everything else). When we sat down at 8.30pm, the waiter said that they don’t ‘normally serve rice in the evening’, so immediately our options were very limited as the menu is very meat heavy. The restaurant is only open between 8.30-10pm so it was too late to go anywhere else. We ordered the only two fish main dishes on the menu, as they were also out of the red tuna starter. Both dishes were very underwhelming and over priced. They were luke warm at best and one of them was completely raw / inedible. The dessert was also awful. The only other table in the restaurant also had issues with their food and sent it back. The waiter was really apologetic but the chef was obviously having a bad night. The hotel kindly removed some of the cost of this meal as a result. Overall: nice hotel with potential to be better, but restaurant lets it down.

• Mia (10/5): - 숙소로 가는길이 너무 좋았고 체크인도 친절하게 잘 해 주셔서 기분 좋게 방으로 들어갔어요 개인 전용풀이 있어서 그것도 정말 좋았어요 저녁 식사는 레스토랑 예약하고 맛있게 먹고 있는데 웨이트리스가 저희 접시를 다 먹지도 않았는데 물어보지도 않고 치우는 바람에 기분이 몹시 나빠졌어요 거기다 와인을 두병 마셨는데 3병으로 차지했어요 영수증 체크를 안했으면 돈을 더 지불할뻔 했어요 레스토랑 문제만 없었다면 좋은 여행이었었는데 한두 직원들때문에 아쉬웠네요

• Catherine (10/5): - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mont Sant! The photos do not do it justice. The rooms are spread out and situated within lush foliage (bamboo, fruit trees, flowers, ferns, and much more) so that they seem very private and secluded. The hotel sits part way up a large incline that leads to a castle fortress. You can walk or bike the path to the castle (recommend sneakers and water) or drive. The castle lies along a self-guided walking path that continues down the incline, past the hotel, and down into the city. There are guideposts along the way with interesting formation about local historical sites. The hotel itself is beautiful and offers gorgeous views overlooking the city. If you want to go down into the city, I do recommend driving or getting a cab, however, as it is not that close to restaurants and shopping. We ended up eating at the hotel for breakfast and diner each day. Breakfast was a lovely buffet in a pretty, quiet glassed-in room. We had dinner out on the patio at the restaurant and had zero complaints - everything was very tasty! There is a lovely pool on site as well with several lounge chairs - it never got crowded while we were there. The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. The WiFi worked well and the rooms were clean, with nice shower facilities. Overall,no complaints and one of our favorite stays on our trip

• Colan (8/5): - It is very calm and peaceful and popular. Placed slightly up the hill it can get wearing walking into town. The restaurant is very popular and for good reason. Do book in advance. They had two big parties in the marquees but I didn’t even notice. All the guests are very well behaved and the rooms very private and I often felt I was the only one there. One thing that would have improved it for me is a small room, a reading room or something where I could have had a coffee and read a book. If it had been warmer and sunny it would have been easy to find a place on the many terraces outside but it wasn’t and inside all tables were taken for lunch, I said it was popular! I was there in February so it’s probably not a common request. It’s a really nice gentle hotel which takes pride in its uniqueness.
• Oya (10/5): - It was one of the best historic hotels we have ever stayed at. Beautifully renovated preserving some of the original features. It is walking distance to the castle and the downtown. The surrounding is like a botanical garden with citrus orchards and olive trees. Breakfast by satisfactory too. Highly recommended. Xàtiva is a fabulous small town.

We found the rooms we stayed in a little dark but they were comfortable and the air conditioning was great. Breakfast was ok- you had to help yourself and the hot food was lukewarm at best. The landscaping around the hotel was beautiful but would have been difficult to navigate for anyone with mobility problems.

The hotel is magical with all the walkways through the garden & the lovely main building of the house. The food was excellent, staff efficient & very friendly, the town is a15 minute walk away & very nice too. We will be back!

• Gary (10/5): Enchanting Hotel - Have wanted to stay at this hotel for a few years & the wait was worth it! We had the suite with the garden & private pool & it was excellent. Inside the suite had two bathrooms, a large separate longe & enormous bedroom with a super king size bed & another seating area. The outside with the pool was very private & had a shaded sitting area as well as landscaped garden. The whole hotel had a secret garden feel & was quiet magical. The staff were friendly & efficient & try to help all the time, breakfast & dinner were excellent. Will definitely be back
• Gunnar (10/5): Beste hotell i Xàtiva. - Dette er andre gang vi kommer hit og det er fordi vi liker oss her. De ansatte gjør hva de kan for at oppholdet ditt blir en opplevelse. Eiendommen er flott og ligger innforbi de gamle murene som omkranset Xàtiva. Castell de Xàtiva er like i nærheten og kan ses fra hotellet.

Está situado bajo el castillo de la localidad (que hay que visitar), en una zona con mucha vegetación, que conforma un magnífico jardín en lo que es el hotel. Por lo tanto, es una zona más fresca en verano. Estupenda piscina... No hicimos uso del restaurante.

Was disappointed as had come from Valencia where a seal to the minibar allowed us to use the fridge for water or soft drinks. it was apparent that the staff were under pressure and could not cope, such a shame as the location and food was excellent

Dîner très agréable sur la terrasse malgré le nombre de plats manquants figurant à la carte. Neanmoins, le nombre de chaises longues à la piscine est insuffisant et certains endroits du parc pourrait être mieux entretenus
• sylvie (10/5): - Excellent sejour. Hôtel magnifique , situé entre la vieille ville et le château (15 min à pied de chaque côte). Le lieu est très calme, entouré d'orangers, de citronniers, et palmiers.. La chambre était très spacieuse, avec une terrasse. Le personnel est agréable, souriant et aux petits soins. Le buffet du petit déjeuner est comieux et varié. Pour finir, la piscine , un peu petite , est bien appréciable, et calme également. Nkis étions venus il y a une dizaine d'années. Nous avions un oeu d'appréhension quand nous avons vu qu'il y a eu des agrandissements et changements. Finalement, nous sommes ravis.

• Hugo Miguel (8/5): Buen hotel - El hotel es muy bonito. El servicio es muy correcto. Aparcamiento gratis en las instalaciones. El check in nos lo hicieron pronto, lo que se agradece. El desayuno era variado y respetaban todas las medidas de higiene que ahora son tan importantes. La habitación era amplia. El baño con la bañera de hidromasaje. Apenas dos reparos. El colchón estaba algo hundido. Y el ruido de restaurante, y posterior cierre era algo incómodo si queiras descansar.

• NATASHA BIANCA (10/5): Lugar increíble, limpieza mejorable - Habitación suite con piscina ideal para evadirse y desconectar. Privacidad cuidada. Mont Sant es un rincón con jardines y con ubicación privilegiada a los pies del castillo de Xàtiva y lugar histórico. Restaurante con cocina de calidad. Desayuno buffet con protocolo covid adecuado. Mejoraría poniendo un código qr con las posibilidades de elección. Ya que una de las camareras no nos había informado de las opciones de bebida disponible como zumo de naranja. Para ser la suite con mayor rango del complejo la limpieza de la habitación no era impecable. En la zona del escritorio habían migas de pan de anteriores clientes y la puerta de espejo en el baño tenía salpicaduras de agua secas. Con estos detalles te hacen dudar del protocolo de limpieza del resto de la habitación. Hemos disfrutado de la estancia pero con sensación agridulce ya que hemos estado en hoteles de menor precio y más cuidados a nivel de limpieza. Lo he comentado con recepción y se han disculpado.

• Verified traveler (4/5): DO NOT GO HERE AT THE WEEKEND! - We had a three night stay from Thursday to Sunday. We had an email to say that there would be "celebrations" on Friday and Saturday that would end at mid-night and that our room was far enough away that it would not be affected. The intolerably loud music BEGAN at 11pm on Friday night and continued until 3am on Saturday morning. It began again around 3pm on Saturday and continued until 11pm. Definitely NOT a relaxing stay. We spoke with other guests of various nationalities all of whom shared our discontent. We registered our complaint at reception and we were told that the email warning us that the noise ended at mid-night was a mistake. He was full of apologies and spoke to the manager. Who obviously did not feel it was worth speaking to us in person. We were given a discount on our meal bill which amounted to 30 euros! The buffet breakfast fell far short of the standard expected of a four star hotel. The pool had obviously not been cleaned for some time and the area around it was frankly a mess.

Staff and cleaning service was great, good parking. Good location, very quick walk up hill to castle and fine walk into town. Had the best meal I’ve had in a long time at the restaurant at the hotel at reasonable prices. Also lovely restaurants in town especially el tunnel. In summary would definitely recommend. Thank you!

• frank (10/5): Fabulous - Gorgeous hotel, AMAZING restaurant. The drive up is a bit hairy but well worth it. The castle is v cool to visit & the hotel is pretty much in the castle grounds. Rooms are very comfortable, stunning bathrooms. Highly recommend
• James (10/5): One great night for my 64th birthday. - One of the best experiences we’ve had in Spain. On par with the Paradores we’ve stayed at for the last 40 years. Don’t miss the old arab cistern...2 million liters. Read the history on the website and enjoy some great views. Do the castle (closed mondays). Enjoy life.....

• Przemyslaw (10/5): Excellent hotel with nothing to complaint about - We thoroughly enjoyed the stay. Beautiful location and a very nice hotel. If you are looking for some tranquility and like being surrounded by nature (orange, lemon, grapefruit and other palm trees) thats the place to go. Rooms (Cabanas) were spacious and reasonably tidy, nice terrace, really nice buffet style breakfast with great variety of products. Service top-notch, to the point where when the Mrs had a wasp flying close to her the waiter shooed it away :) . Excellent views at night, the castle is beautifully lit and there are plenty of quiet spots to have a glass of wine and enjoy the views. Highly recommended, you wont be dissapointed
• Verified traveler (10/5): - This is a special place. Beautiful views, great architecture in an incredible setting at the foot of the castle. Loved all the foliage on the hotel grounds, which made us feel like we were in Central America. Food was good too. Have fun!

• Michael (10/5): Absolutely superb—go out of your way to stay here! - Knock your socks off beautiful location at the base of the castle, extensive and beautiful grounds filled with citrus and flowering trees, super comfortable rooms with decks and clean and comfortable and great beds, quiet and serene. Excellent breakfast. Wonderful staff. Go out of your way to stay here, it is fantastic. I’m on a bicycle trip around the world, with 300+ hotel nights, and this hotel is in the top five. It’s great.
• Richard (10/5): Quiet retreat just below the castle at Xativa. - A mixture of old and new. Our room was very spacious with a balcony looking over a beautiful garden. We ate in the restaurant twice and the food was very good and reasonably priced.
