Guest Reviews
- john (10/5): - Rosie the Innkeeper was very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was outstanding and so was our waitress. Can’t wait to go back again.
- Susan (6/5): - This is a beautiful place. Our inn keeper was exceptionally stressed because an employee had just left. She did not make us feel welcome and made sure we understood not to bother her. We were about 45 min early for check in, our fault but her stress level was way over the top. Also our room though small was lovely except the bathroom. The sink and counter top were intended for young children. It was so low it was uncomfortable. This should have been clearly stated. We will not stay here again mostly because of the inn keepers attitude.
- Sean (10/5): - This is a beautiful, charming, B&B in a great location in Lenox. The staff is absolutely wonderful. The breakfast is exceptional. I highly recommend the Garden Gables Inn.
- Steven (10/5): Great place for a nice getaway - We had a very nice stay, we stayed in room #5. It is a VERY small room but we knew that getting into this and we managed fine with it. Breakfast was excellent and the staff was very polite and helpful. I would stay here again but would like to try one of the cottage cabins next time.
- BRUCE (4/5): - Rosie and Amy were very helpful trying to fix the issues and credited the stay for us due to issues they were unable to resolve. At check in, we were assigned room #4 and given the key to room #4. The room was already occupied. He had checked into our room by mistake and would not leave. They gave us a different room with two twin beds pushed together with different mattress heights. The mattresses were worn out years ago. with no board for reinforcement. The twin headboards left a gap between the beds which was very uncomfortable. Management was aware of this and did not rectify the issue. Since there were no other rooms available, we left and stayed at the Hampton Inn.
- Lauren (10/5): - The Inn is in a prime location in Lenox. The breakfast is great! Lots of choices, and each breakfast is cooked to order. Nice area set up with beverages and snacks available 24/7. The arts season had concluded when we were there, and we plan to come back a little earlier to take advantage of that. Or…this is a great location for experiencing fall colors in October. September is too early. The Innkeepers are delightful! Take a few hours and go over to Stockbridge to the Norman Rockwell museum. Worth it! Our room with a queen bed was really small, but we got used to it. We will try to reserve one of the cottages next time.
- Keith (10/5): - Bathroom was tiny. Vent was very loud. Very nifty air purifier was a big plus.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Well located , very quiet and relaxing , nice staff, lovely pool in nice setting
Breakfast was disappointing. “Cook” did not show up for 2 of 3 days and staff did their best to fill in but it fell short of expectations
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The staff was very welcoming
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Wonderful B& B Great location, fantastic breakfast, all staff friendly and helpful.
- Eunice (10/5): Perfect stay in the Berkshires - Just had a delightful three night stay at this property.
Rooms are comfortable and impeccably kept. Location is perfect for visiting points of interest in the area.. Hancock Shaker Village, the Clarke Institute, The Mount and Arrowhead
The staff do an excellent job... friendly, helpful and solicitous.... breakfasts are beyond belief... forget diets and calories for a couple of days and tuck into blueberry pancakes, challah bread French toast with apples as well as all manner of egg, bacon and sausage mixes.
We look forward to returning later in the year.
- DENNIS (10/5): Berkshires Weekend - Beautiful grounds, friendly staff, great breakfasts.
- Ann (10/5): Anniversary trip - W traveled here from the south shore of MA for our 38 wedding anniversary. This place is a little gem! We were able to take advantage of the lovely sitting areas in the house, The Atlas on the baby grand piano was fun to look at! It’s also centrally located for a weekend in the Berkshires. Breakfast was great and cooked to order.
I can only imagine what a buffet in this place must be like. Maybe after COVID restrictions are lifted.
- Catharine (10/5): - The place was clean and beautiful and the staff was friendly and accommodating. I would definitely recommend to friends!
- James (10/5): Great Inn in Lenox! - We loved our stay at the Garden Gables Inn!! The amenities and ambiance were perfect. We were in good hands with Rosie and her staff, most of whom were her own family. Indeed, they made us feel a part of the Berkshire family.
The breakfast was exemplary. We would highly recommend this establishment to all visitors.
We even got to stay in the Leonard Bernstein room! The great composer/maestro apparently stayed in the very room we slept in...a fun novelty for any music lover!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful and clean. Great staff, very friendly. Had a great dinner within walking distance that was recommended by staff, Frankie’s.
- fabian (2/5): Horrible experience. - Horrible experience. Upon arrival we were informed that our room was not available, for the three days booking done and confirmed with Hotel.com . The only employee put someone on the phone and said that they didn't have my phone number or credit card on file. I was lucky to finf another place at 6pm , in a small town like Lenox Mass.
- catherine (10/5): A perfect late September weekend🍁 - We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend stay at Garden Gables Inn. The historic house is comfortable and well appointed, without being stuffy or over-done. Our room, though one of the smaller options available, was perfect for our needs, as we were off for wedding events nearby and to explore Lenox, during the days and evenings.
The staff were friendly, helpful and easygoing, which added to the relaxed atmosphere, and singular charm of the place. breakfast was delicious, with locally sourced ingredients, and friendly service. We will definitely be back again soon!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The property was just what I would expect from A traditional 1700’s inn. It was quaint and had a lot of charm. I loved the sitting areas a with the fire place. We stayed in room 5. The bed was very comfortable. The room was small but cozy and the bathroom was tiny but again it did not bother me because of the charm of the inn. We had an amazing breakfast as well. There were so many options to order as well as a beautiful and yummy buffet all included in the price. Lenox is a great area and you can walk right into town from the Inn. I would stay there again.
- Martin (10/5): Cerca de Tanglewood - Gran estancia, la gente muy amable, el lugar paradisíaco y la atención muy buena. Súper recomendable si estas por ir a ver un concierto a Tanglewood.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The location of the property is fabulous. Easily walk to town or hop on a bike and ride to the lake.
The staff are extremely helpful, friendly and very warm and welcoming.
There are always snacks like fresh fruit and muffins left out to help yourself to during the day.
- Deborah (10/5): Wonderful - Amazing place. Would have stayed longer if we could. Booked already. Same time next year.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The location was perfection. The room was terrific. The check in desk was often unattended.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Everything exceeded our expectations. We thought the Inn would be located near the road but it was far off the road. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. Breakfast is made to order; the food was excellent. We will be back!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very convenient location. Easy Walking distance to very good restaurants and five minute drive to Tanglewood.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A beautiful property with character and charm, friendly and professional staff with quality amenities
- Verified traveler (6/5): - This is a lovely property and my room was as described - comfortable and clean. Perhaps because it is still the "off season," I found the service to be highly disappointing. I almost never saw anyone who worked there, had to call a phone number to let someone know I was there to be checked in. Later, after an uncomfortable night without air conditioning, I called the same number to inquire about whether someone could help me adjust the temperature (which I tried on my own, unsuccessfully). There was no answer and no return call. I was also disappointed by the lack of coffee available before 7-7:30am, especially after the person who checked me in said coffee/tea, etc would be available 24 hours.
- G.O (8/5): - I am glad we went when slow cause it's not a large place and it could feel small if crowded. Bedrooms are not that big but they offer pretty much all you need. We enjoyed their home breakfast very delicious. A very welcoming place!
- Emily (10/5): - The Inn was cozy, perfect for a weekend away. Loved the location, which is walking distance from all of the cute shops and restaurants in Lenox. The staff were friendly and welcoming. I would definitely stay here again!
- Susan (8/5): Quintessential New England in Historic Inn - Beautiful location in Lenox, MA, walkable to many of the restaurants in town. The breakfast was wonderful with many choices for hot and cold choices. Our room was a little small but very cozy and well-appointed with amenities. The common areas were very nice and comfortable and we loved the historic nature of the inn. We were in town at leaf-peeping time and the whole area is really beautiful. It was a really pleasant stay at Garden Gables
- Doug (8/5): - Nice inn close to downtown. Very helpful staff. Excellent breakfast, Fireplace and complimentary beverages and snacks
- bglon (10/5): Great place to stay - I think this falls into the boutique hotel category for its style and size. Our room was small but beautifully formed with absolutely everything that you might require. The staff are outstanding. Breakfast has several hot options and all waitress served plus a buffet.... really nice. It’s in a good location in the town of Lenox and easy walking ofshopsy, restaurants , bars etc.
We would heartily recommend this lovely place.
- Phyllis (10/5): - Lovely property, small rooms but wonderful amenities.
- Verified traveler (10/5): One of the BEST B&Bs ever! - The Berkshires are wonderful to visit for a weekend or for a month, and the Garden Gables Inn makes it completely terrific. The amenities and accommodations are comparable to any 5-star hotel you can name, with a New England flair and coziness that do not neglect modern convenience. Light switches are where you would hope, privacy is ensured, TV reception is great, and the mattress is probably the best one we have slept on away from our own. Terrific upkeep, lovely breakfast every morning, generous snacking with teas, coffee, ice cream (!), fresh baked goods (really yummy!), and toiletries of the highest quality (L'Occitane). Fireplaces and free parking, lovely decor and Lenox right across the street (walk or drive), Garden Gables would be great at the height of summer (pool and Tanglewood proximity), welcoming glorious Fall and Spring seasonal changes, or cozying up during winter snowfalls.
- John (10/5): Cool charm with a side of streudel - Glorious stay in charming accommodations. The staff is relaxed, professional, and generous with advice regarding local attractions. l ate enough of their apple streudel French Toast to fast for a week! An all-around righteous trip that I look forward to repeating soon.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - What a lovely breakfast they serve! The staff is so friendly and accommodating.
- Carol (8/5): - The staff were very helpful with information, making dinner reservations. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choices & the wait staff could not have been nicer. Clean rooms. Walking distance to shops & restaurants.
- Mark (6/5): - We like the breakfast and good service. However our visit was marred by squeezing a queen bed into a very small space. Not at all what your accustomed to in this price range. Also, the decorating is not very attractive for a b and b in serious need of updating.
- Jim (6/5): - Excellent breakfast. Room small. Bed slumped in the middle so i was rolling into my wife all night long.
- gail (10/5): Wonderful place to land in Lenox! - Lovely stay. Breakfast servers on Wednesday were a bit more on the ball than the servers on Thursday. But breakfast was superb.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location and very attentive and welcoming staff. A great place to feel at home while away from home. And an excellent breakfast...will definitely return.
- julie (10/5): Perfect couples weekend away - Our room was small but well equipped and clean. Breakfasts were delicious. Location was perfect - short walk to wonderful restaurants and shops.
- michael (8/5): Lovely stay - Nice quaint B&B in the Berkshires. Weather was too cold to use it, but nice pool on the property. Chocolate chip cookies every night....
- carol (10/5): Perfection - From the first moment to the last our weekend stay was just what we were looking for in every way. Beautiful house with amazing attention to detail. Lovely welcoming staff and friendly guests in a peaceful setting while still being able to walk everywhere. We will be back!!!
- Jill (10/5): All good things - Loved every second of my stay. Beautiful area, small but comfortable room, walking distance to shops, sights and restaurants. Staff were wonderful. I will be back to see a different season!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Lovely spot in the Berkshires - I'd been curious about the Garden Gables for a long time, and enjoyed it even if it didn't knock me out. Arriving at just before 6 pm there was no staff to greet me (which seemed early for staff to have gone off duty). Common rooms are comfortable and inviting, and my bedroom had a wonderfully comfortable bed and fireplace, which was perfect for an icy evening. Breakfast was indifferent. The place seems to lack the personal passion for detail that informs the very best B&Bs.
- Diann (10/5): Nice Bed and Breakfast close to Tanglewood. - My stay here was lovely. Martie, the Innkeeper, was hospitable and accommodating. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The freshly baked chocolate chip cookies upon entering the Inn were deliciously perfect. The breakfast was busy and I had to wait quite a while to be served, but the food was worth the wait.
- soup (10/5): Wonderful hospitality - Spent only one night, but the stay was wonderful. Service from checking to departure was wonderful. Well located, nice grounds, super breakfast, great amenities in the lounges. Rooms are very clean, although a tad small. All in all a tremendous stay.
- Robles (10/5): Lovely Inn close to shops and restaurants - We enjoyed our stay and the staff were excellent. Our favorite was Celine who took great care of us at breakfast. Thank you!
- James (10/5): Best Bed & Breakfast in the Northeast Period!!!! - From the moment we arrived at the Garden Gables Inn we were impressed with everything. The Inn keeper Denise was amazing and her cooking was outstanding. I do not have one complaint about this bed and breakfast and I cant wait until my next stay here. If your looking for a bed and breakfast in the Lenox, MA area then this is the place to stay period.
