- Carina (10/5): Het verblijf heeft alles wat je nodig hebt om te ontspannen! - De ontvangst was al een warm bad. De kamer, de view, de hulpvaardigheid van het personeel, eigenlijk was het hele plaatje perfect. Bij aankomst kregen we een heerlijke fles wijn, olijfolie en olijven. 's avonds gegeten van het vlees wat we vooraf besteld hadden en wat in de koelkast klaar stond! Dit was zo lekker! Het zwembad met de view was top en ook de vijver waar we heerlijk gezeten hebben met een glas wijn was fantastisch. Eén plek waar je helemaal tot rust kan komen. Een echte aanrader!! Komen op een ander jaar zeker terug!
- Derek (10/5): Stunning time! Very romantic! - The Karoo in December is really hot & dry, Vrisch Gewagt is like an oasis. The cottage had stunning design, very snazzy! We enjoyed the hidden pool with a view, its crazy cool! We explored into the Groot Rivier Kloof, this was off path & a bit rugged, but a stunning adventure. With a sweet natural swimming pool, this is worth the effort. The olives are so good! I recommend drinking the complementary wine, order lam & extra olives to take home. All are excellent!

- Nicky (10/5): So much to do, so little time! - The farm is just 30km outside the historic town of Prince Albert, where you can eat like a king, immerse yourself in history and enjoy the splendor, craft and generosity of the Karoo folk (we had a MTB puncture and were referred to ARNO, who met us in town with a replacement tube - not the type of service you'll easily get in big cities - we were bowled over). Our hostess informed us of the Swartberg Pass, which we tackled around 7h30am on our MTB's - we weren't the only ones - it is an ABSOLUTE must, and TOTALLY worth it ... but know that just as you think you're done, there's another climb - the total climb over about 14km is 1000m. The farm itself is glorious - we were able to ride our bikes freely, climbed koppies and swam (in a pristine pool, yes, in the middle of nowhere). The silence was spectacular and stargazing a treat, enjoyed right from your bed through open doors - hard to fall asleep with so much beauty around you. We loved our entire stay.
- Johan (10/5): Best Karoo stay experience and service to match! - Beautiful farm and units. All very well equipped for a comfortable stay, easy self-catering and overall a dream Karoo farm-stay. Management went out of their way to accommodate our changing holiday plans and even assisted with additional accommodation for our convenience. I cannot say thank you enough for a perfect experience and mini holiday. Too far from home for a quick long weekend 😊

- Christopher (9/5): Superb - We had a really enjoyable stay at Vrisch Gewagt. The cottages are beautiful, really comfortable and have everything you could need. The cottage was clean and the beds and towels really comfortable. The units are well spaced apart and we appreciated being able to travel with our pets. Free use of firewood from the farm, a pool and nice walks made the stay even better. The farm produce we bought and were gifted were great touches. The area around the unit had a lot of ants that were constantly coming into the house, although insect repellents were provided it would be great if Vrisch Gewagt could find a more permanent solution.

Priscila comes in the morning to clean and preps your braai and fireplace with wood which you can light at anytime to keep the unit warm and cozy in the winter months. Pre-ordering the lamb is a must and will be waiting in your fridge with a bottle of wine, a jar of olives and a bottle of olive oil all locally sourced on the farm!!! Everything was spot on!

The peace and tranquility surrounding us in all directions, the chance to let our hair down and truly unplug from the hustle of city life was priceless. We stayed in the Library cottage, which was tastefully decorated and had all the modern comforts. No TV and the kids didn't even notice. Chantelle the farm manager was exceptional and ensured we had fresh meat to cook on our arrival on Christmas day. The farm gifts were delicious and included whole fresh milk, delicious olives and olive oil made on the farm. The weather was a bit chilly and we had the opportunity to light up the fire place which just added to the cosy ambience of the stay. Highly recommend a stay at Vrish Gewagt if you're looking for a unique way to re-energize your spirit and a truly memorable stay. Nothing really
- Vladislav (6/5): Book only via booking.com. Do not communicate with Lara and especially with her hursbund by any issue. - The farm and people who are working on the farm doing their jobs perfect! Chántales who with her husband looking after this business on location are amazing! We would rate their work on 11 from 10! Location, atmosphere and house are 10 from 10. The owner of the house - Lara, with whom you could have communication, is “foxy” and unfair person. She invites you to stay extra nights promising you 30% discount for any next day you stay but immediately forgetting about that she promised then you want to continue stay. She informs you that you could stay then keeping silence until late evening then it’s dark and you can’t move because there is no light! Then owner is asking you to pay full price! Then you are starting to send her pictures of what she promised she is passing communication to her men - Andrey who is absolutely inadequate person and might stay 100000 kilometres away from farm! Unfortunately Lara and especially Andrey, why are out of the farm, spoiled great experience that people are daily creating on the farm.

- Cindy (10/5): One words that come to mind is Mesmerizing!!! - Wow, there are not words to describe this majestic farm. Home away from home and even more. Spoils of beautiful, stylish accommodation, indoor fireplace with ample firewood. Complementary olives, olive oil and wine as well…Load shedding…what was that? You didn’t even notice. Most quiet peaceful place with views that one can only dream of combined with farm life and little critters. If you need to unwind, this is most definitely the place to be. Chantelle the farm manages, she went above and beyond her call of duties. So friendly and accommodating. Homer our fur baby loved every moment of being free and meeting a buddy there on the farm (The farm dog). He even met cows and sheep for the first time. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. My fiancé is into Astrophotography and I’m telling you, the stars are so bright and untouched by city light pollution. I could go on and on about how amazing this place was. It was so sad to leave. Let me tell you that the 4-hour tip from Cape Town is well worth it,come rain or sunshine. You will most definitely see us again. I can wait to show your beautiful place off to friends. Thank you so much for such a beautiful unforgettable stay. The fact we had to leave.

The decor, lighting, bathrooms, bedrooms, crockery, extremely well-appointed kitchen, delightful outside patio, and spaciousness of the 2 bedroom unit were all lovely and well thought through. The farm's olive groves and surrounding mountains are enchanting. The team on-site went out of their way to make us feel welcome, accommodate our requests, and inform us about the various fully organic produce and exquisite olive oil they sell....which we subsequently ordered and purchased 😀 Thank you for a memorable stay. We shall definitely be returning and will continue ordering from you!!

- Ernest (10/5): Beautiful well designed cottage - The cottage is situated on a beautiful estate and is lovely! All the details are so well done! We enjoyed the outside shower very much. And the Nespresso coffee machine so we could enjoy our cup in the morning with an amazing view. There are a couple of swimming/cool pools in different spots at the estate and there is a round one on top of a hill we enjoyed very much! Chantal welcomed us and she gave us all the information. The cottage is half of 2 cottages, so if you're traveling with other people that's perfect. This place is everything you could wish for! Thanks! -

Absolute silence, the ideal house and location to relax in the magical Karoo. Chantelle the manager was really great and showed us around on the farm. Lovely person. The load shedding. A big problem in South-Africa. But the owners are planning to install an inverter.

O local mais próximo para alimentação é a 35 km da propriedade. Achamos estranho não sermos recebidos por ninguém ao chegarmos. Não há recepção, não há telefone nos quartos para falar com absolutamente ninguém responsável e não tem sinal de internet.
