Guest Reviews
- Julie (8/5): - Lovely spacious room very comfortable bed. Peaceful Eggs at buffet become hard sat there too long.
- Cornelius (10/5): -
- Tony (5/5): Disappointed - Lovely view from the window and the breakfast was very good for a buffet style. Once we had arrived we left our bags in our room.
We came back and noticed our bags in the manager’s room behind reception. We were then told we had been put in the wrong room. It is the fact our belongings were removed without being told which I felt was unacceptable and upsetting and we were offered a complimentary drink, which we did not accept.
We then got in our new room and there was no tv remote or tv ariel attached.
When we were checking out we told the staff who explained they knew there was not a remote and ariel as they are replacing them.
- Richard (4/5): Very disappointing, with bad service from hotel management.😠 - The food we ordered by room service was very good and most enjoyable, but breakfast was an altogether different experience, buffet was mostly lukewarm, coffee machine out of order, dirty utensils, dirty cups etc. Very dissapointing. Hotel in need of good manager, distinct lack of control overall from present management.😠 The receptionist staff were surlery bordering on insulting, arrived a little early, just wanted to see if it ok to wait, but before we could speak told no check in's before 3.
Room had overpowering smell of chlorine, and visable signs of attempts to scrub mould away, bathroom had glass walls, very disturbing, more like a voyeur 's paradise if that's what floats your boat. Shower walls and ceiling had peeling paint, no extraction fan working so no shocks they have a damp problem. Room had laid empty for a while, as very bad build up dust. 😠
- dangerous Dave (3/5): Bad - Not a lot Walking into the bathroom after booking in and seeing pee in the toilet. Thick layer of dust on the table

- Bertrand (7/5): -
- Stuart McNeil (10/5): - Very convenient location for my work over the Weekend.
Friendly staff and excellent buffet style breakfast and good choice of evening meal. Nothing
- Mohammed (10/5): -
- Samantha (10/5): Nice clean stay - Local for a night out. Bed was squeaking on one side only one bottle of water in room instead of 2 although extra towels were put in for us. Apart from that no issues
- Alana (8/5): -
- Kathleen (8/5): -
- Maggduck (7/5): -
- William (9/5): - The location is excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The bathroom needed a good clean and it was hard to find out way around the hotel.
- Rebecca (7/5): - Friendly staff and good location.
Good cooked breakfast. Our room was over the function room and the music was very loud, we went o bed around 11pm. At past 1am there were several people talking and shouting outside just blow our room, unfortunately had to have the windows open as the room was quite warm.
- Elliott (10/5): - The staff were very accommodating and friendly, the hotel was clean. We were staying for 1 night for a family Christening. There wasn't anything I found to dislike.

- David (9/5): - Location Nothing
- jennyt90 (8/5): Lovely room & lovely food - Food was lovely & room was spacious and clean. We were told we couldn't eat in the restaurant as they had a big group of guests eating. There was only 2 of us. We ending up eating outside in the garden area.
- Anthony (8/5): Great staff could not do enough for is also good nice quiet place to stay - Location Price of a glass of wine 😁
- David (5/5): Never again. - The bedroom was clean and large. The gardens were pleasant. The glass wall to the shower and toilet wouldn't have suited everyone. The overt politicization of the corridors glorifying Arthur Scargill would be offensive to many visitors. In any case the event occurred over 40 years ago. It's a hotel not a museum; how much in the past does the hotel management want to live? The surliness of one or two of the staff was objectionable. Although we were one table of two occupied in the restaurant, service took almost an hour. Many of the tables weren't laid up and there were insufficient cruet sets to equip every table. Although we purposely went to breakfast 30 minutes after service started, the food was cold. The toaster was so inefficient it took two passes to give the bread a modest colouring. A small point but the couple of disabled parking bays were not near to the front door.
- Philip (8/5): -
- Elaine (10/5): - Very welcoming, beautiful room and very comfortable bed. Breakfast was buffet and the food was very good and plentiful. Staff were helpful and the restaurant was well laid out. Nothing negative to say about it.
- Roberts (8/5): Beautiful location but not organised at breakfast time - Beautiful location and peaceful Breakfast was a farce. We had a dog with us and had to sit in a separate room. No one to assist waited 10 min and ended up going to reception. Then had to take cutlery and plates from a table as no assistance whatsoever.

- roghack (8/5): Great Experience - We have just spent two nights for our wedding anniversary at this lovely hotel unfortunatley 2 hours after arring they had a total power cut resulting in National grid having to bring in a generator until power could be restored but thanks to the lovely staff especially the lovely Becky a disaster was avoided and we where able to enjoy the great food and fantastic ambiance that this Hotel has to offer all of the staff here went to great trouble(under the circumstances) to make sure that our anniversary was made as enjoyable as possible thank you all you are a credit to your profession
- M (5/5): Pleasant stay, but a few areas of improvement required. Updating bathroom as highest priority - Location quiet and room size was good, Barthroom needs updating. Breakfast was disappointing with shortage of crockery, cutlery, milk and bacon. Breakfast- see above
- Richard (7/5): -
- Stuart (6/5): It was fine but a bit soulless as a weekend venue sadly. - Good sized room. Good shower etc. Plenty of car parking. Breakfast was decent enough and the place had been refurbished recently. Ideal for a quick business trip. The local village is really nice and only a short walk away with good pubs and restaurants l. It’s an odd set up and a little bit soulless to be honest. Not quite what we had hoped for for a night away. You constantly hear doors banging all through the corridors all evening which meant a poor sleep for both of us. On arrival we were told that the restaurant wasn’t going to be open except cor bar food. Very poor and we could have been informed in advance at least.

- Ellen (8/5): -
- Peach (8/5): A great place, peaceful, excellent bedroom for us and dogs - The history of TU and location
- Simon (6/5): Its seen better days - tired & cheap - comfortable bed - Clean, comfortable bed, reasonably close to office Very tired, past its best on decor: showerhead, toilet seat & kettle all made from same flimsy plastic; travel iron and ironing board both burn-damaged, bedroom furniture dated and ‘economy’; corridors smelt of fumes &/or toilets
- Alison (9/5): -
- Charles (9/5): - Location was convenient No bottled water in room. Bed mattress bvery soft.
- Glenda (8/5): Second visit. Comfortable and pleasant hotel convenient for visiting family in the area. - Good breakfast. Table service first morning. Buffet second morning. Nothing in particular.
- Yovel (7/5): I would definitely stay again! Staff are lovely, the bed just needs changing - The room was beautiful! The bed was broken or really wonky. It felt like it was fully broken.
- Natalie (10/5): Excellent staff comfy beds great breakfast - Beautiful Could be doing with being updated
- Julie (9/5): -
- Michelle (10/5): -
- Alexander (4/5): - The coffee at breakfast was undrinkable and I am not picky about coffee. Happy with instant even. But this was revolting
- Fionuala (6/5): -
- Terry (8/5): A very comfortable stay, lovely food and friendly staff - Lovely location, very friendly and helpful staff and great food. Unfortunately the extra bed in our triple room was uncomfortable for our 16 year old daughter. The bed springs were felt through the mattress.
- Greig (8/5): Very good and would use again - Rooms very good and location good for business trip First time I’ve been in a room that I had to close the curtains to go to the toilet
- Sarah (8/5): Value for money - Staff were exceptionally accommodating and the food was of extremely high quality. We had dinner in the restaurant and had lots of dishes to choose from and breakfast offerings were fabulous. The decor is a little bit tired in places and could do with a refresh.
- JG (10/5): - What a little gem of a hotel.
- Deborah (6/5): - The room was a good size and the bed was reasonably comfortable. We moved rooms as the TV wasn't working and the staff responded quickly and in an efficient manner. Breakfast wasn't the best and the hotel and rooms are dated. There was a musty smell in some areas.
- Alistair (10/5): - Friendly greeting by very helpful staff . Facilities are always immaculate and comfortable.
- Kevin (8/5): -
- EMMA (10/5): -
- Marie (8/5): Hotel was lovely friendly staff room was lovely Hotel was set ina nice location - Nice room staff friendly Hotel nice garden breakfast was ok prefer buffet breakfast?
- Christopher (10/5): - Great location, fantastic room and fantastic breakfast. Reception staff were so lovely and helpful Nothing to dislike
- Nicola (7/5): Too expensive wouldn’t stay again - Comfy clean bed Sign saying I couldn’t open window in room
No bedside lamp
Tv signal awful
Too much big furniture in room
- Peter (7/5): -
- Richard (10/5): Great value stay at a unique hotel - Lovely room with a garden view. Good price too. Included breakfast. Nothing tocom0lain about.
- Matt (8/5): -
- Jo (4/5): -
- Bridget (7/5): Family 'do' in Quorn - The room was very spacious and light (lots of windows) and the beds comfortable. The evening meal we had booked for our family group was delicious and well presented. The hotel was also very quiet and felt peaceful during our stay. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Even though there were issues I'd read about in reviews about the showers and TVs not working properly - during our stay months later - the issues still remained! The TV didn't work well and was hanging at a jaunty angle and our shower was out of order (we did have a bath though). Some of the bar staff were not trained well and I had a very odd assortment of drinks - from no taste of gin at all to overpowering knockout, almost neat gin! At breakfast, a few more staff in attendance might have kept food supplies going and attended to the coffee machine as there were holdups with both.
- jeanette (9/5): - Lovely staff , very clean room Lovely views bed was comfortable room was warm & welcoming Breakfast wasn't hot enough under the heaters , table wasn't set properly had go looking for ,spoons , milk , no hash brown .
- Magdalena (9/5): - Good value for the money We had to wait for over 20 minutes for English breakfast, although there were no other people in the restaurant
- Patrick (8/5): -
- Kevin (4/5): - Surroundings with nice big room No plug-in bath
No heating very cold
No TV signal
Bar very expensive
- Kerena (10/5): Fantastic to encounter the history of the hotel. - A beautiful hotel with an historical link to the miners strike and the trade union movement. Also extremely dog friendly. The rooms open onto the car park so no need to take dogs through the hotel and lovely grounds for them.
- Bernice (5/5): Hotel clean but needing an update. Breakfast was good - tho coffee machine not working. - The waiter was working alone at breakfast and the hotel was full. He tried really hard to help everyone. He was a credit to the hotel. The shower in our room was not working. We were not informed when arriving and paying for the room. We had to wait until in the room to find out. Not good for a room of 3 women - we had a bath but unable to wash hair. Not much of an apology given.
No tv remote in the room - someone said they would come and sort but no one came.
- Oliver (9/5): -
- David (9/5): -
- Mr Anand M (10/5): Excellent - Excellent Nothing
- Linda (8/5): - The hotel settng and Location ..staff as always nice and helpful...breakfast lovely. Shower..water in room 217 was cold...the plug stuck in the sink and couldnt remove it.
- Michael (9/5): Everything was very good and staff very friendly and efficient. - Breakfast cooked to order was very good though the coffee wasn’t to my taste. The glass bathroom wouldn’t be for everyone!
The bed was comfortable enough but a bit squidsie for me.
- Helen Mary (8/5): Great for a weekend break - A conference hotel in the week but quiet at the weekend. The staff were really great. The room was very pleasant lacked USB sockets . The French windows opened onto a garden area.
- Linda (8/5): - Friendliness and efficiency of all staff. Buffet breakfast was very good.
- Russell (8/5): -
- liam (5/5): -
- Tanya (8/5): -
- Lorraine (8/5): - Big stains on some areas of the carpet outside my room.
- Georgina (10/5): Stay if you want a nice time - Everything the room was so nice and cosy I want to stay forever. I liked being on the ground floor I had the doors to outside, the bed was comfy, the size of the room, and all the facilities. Nothing.
- Mr Anthony (6/5): The staff are great, food is all done fresh. It’s just a shame the rooms aren’t maintained. - It was very clean. No proper plugs in the bathroom, no toilet roll holder. Couldn’t get certain TV channels that you should have been able to access.
- shawnnG9652IY (4/5): My experience of the Quorn grange hotel - The room had no working tv the shower went from hot to cold the next day
Every time you went to reception they would say we would hand this to maintenance and nothing was ever done 4 night stay not worth the money spent sorry avoid
Plus side food was extremely good
- Jamie (10/5): Very convenient for our school reunion in the White Hart - Very convenient for the village Nothing to dislike
- Oliver (8/5): -
- Emily (9/5): -
- Kyle (3/5): Absolutely shite - The only thing that I can complement the property on is it looked nice from the outside The staff was rude and useless, was made to feel like a imposter in someone’s house it was disgusting how dirty the rooms and bedding was stains all over white sheets ,me and my partner thought we’d walked into a construction site there was wires hanging from the ceiling in the corridors ,half ripped up carpet leaving as a trip hazard with no signs or warning tape never been so disappointed in my life for the price I was charged I expected so much more ,the food was awful there was no menu so there wasn’t a choice of what you ate the breakfast was as if it was a child’s portion ,couldn’t even get a fizzy drink /or a beer on tap as they had no gas in the taps would not recommend, also fails to me that there was migrants staying there few weeks before
- Donna (1/5): Horrendous - Nothing We paid £107 for the room and what a shock it was when we walk in I've seen better rooms in poor country's, I wouldn't waist your money, premier Inn is cheaper and much better
- Ken (9/5): - all pretty good just fell short on some details - eg no one immediately around at breakfast opening time, no soap/liquid in room bathroom
- Sharon (5/5): -
- Vannessa (9/5): Fab - have booked again for the end of august - We have stayed at this hotel on a number of occasions because they allow all our dogs.
Everything else is a bonus.
Fab room with access directly onto carpark - very easy getting dogs toileted without disturbing other guests. It is a tad expensive but it's worth it
- Lisa (6/5): Ok it did the job - Nice location, size of rooms are good Rooms really dated, and furniture quite tatty - needs modernising
- David (7/5): -
- Tanya (6/5): Beautiful garden, hot rooms with no washroom privacy - Beautiful garden
Nice bar inside
The rooms were large enough No air conditioning
Restaurant tables dirty from meals of those that ate before you
Glass doors to the bathroom so you can watch your partner use the toilet
- Charlotte (9/5): Cosy and nice! - Soft comfy bed and spacious room . The location is beautiful and a short walk from nice pubs in Quorn. Manager and staff were helpful and kind. The glass bathroom was a bit of an odd design choice, but thankfully my partner and I have been together a long time and didn't mind the lack of privacy
- Norman (8/5): -
- Joanne (6/5): Friendly staff but hotel is run down and needs some love - Nice sized rooms. Tv in the bedroom didn’t work
Light next to bed didn’t work
Mould in bathroom
Very dusty
No offer of a vegetarian breakfast
- chris (5/5): It satisfied my my needs vis a vis a bed for the night but didn't go much further than that - The bed was comfortable but the duvet was rather thin. The lighting in reception and then in the corridors leading to the rooms is very sterile and gives the impression of a call centre or office, not a hotel. The ceiling tiles are horrible and give the impression of a thrown together office building rather than a hotel
